    appreciate when a master tech goes out and does some rollers to make sure the bikes built right instead of comparing dyno numbers and hitting the cruise control its whole life.

    That FATBOB rides great stock. I just can't fathom what it would be like with that engine build. Like to see what a smaller cam produces. Finding a bone stock bike like that for a good price point then having engine work like that. Hmmm. 🤔 Enjoying the channel and subscribed.

    love it Tommy. Don't forget you're at 2,500ft !!
    How come years ago manufacturers supplied piston kits with rings pregapped for their design bore, now its grind your own? It was only special order where you gapped your own rings?

    • @MasterTechMiller
      @MasterTechMiller  8 місяців тому +1

      I believe it's because a lot of people may been assembling their engines & not checking the gaps, just assuming they're good to go.
      Then if the engine failed they would argue that the ring broke due to manufacturing faults.
      I would assume that they make the rings to be nice & tight so they HAVE to be set otherwise the engine can't be put together.
      That way the ring company know they have at least been set.
      It is true that you can order rings from Total Seal that are specifically set to your requirements.

We put vance and hines 2 into 2 big radius, screamin eagle heavy breather, the cone fiilter, had the orange tuner back when they were tunable. I hadna 12" mini ape bar for it too, but after riding it a couple weeks with the stock bar, i left the stack bar on it. Will you leave the stock bar on yours Tom?.

    Fuck yea man, damn that sounds bad ass. Very nice Tom. Do those heads come ported like that or did they get special porting? Love the DND pipe too. I'm going with them next time....I always use bassani, ready for something different

    • @MasterTechMiller
      @MasterTechMiller  8 місяців тому

      So these heads in particular are from the exchange program from APE.
      You send your heads to them & they send you these back,
      However, if you want a set of stage 2 heads from APE nowadays, they don't come CNC ported. They come hand ported & textured, flow bench tested & proven. They still come loaded with high lift valve springs too.
      The reason is to help lower the cost for the customer on the exchange program. The hand ported & textured heads flow just has much as the CNC ported heads in this video.
      They do still offer a CNC ported option if it is requested though.

    Great video. I have same bike wih 114 andSE torque cam, extreme ventilator air filter and Rinehart mufflers. Your attention to detail is amazing. Why no oil pump mods? What is your break in process?

    • @MasterTechMiller
      @MasterTechMiller  8 місяців тому

      The 2020 & Up models all come with the latest 8 lobe oil pump from Harley-Davidson. It is by far more than capable of meeting the demands of all the big bore kit builds out there.
      The cam plate too is also up for the job.
      I believe the first few generation oil pumps gave it all a bad name leading to people thinking an aftermarket upgrade is the only way to go.
      My break in process involves heat cycling the engines 2 or 3 times then it's straight to the dyno to get the Air fuel ratios as close to spot on as possible to avoid cylinder wall washing from being too rich or from excessive heat from being too lean

    • @MasterTechMiller

      I've never heard of a cam with that much lift but I would say it is possible with the correct ratio rocker arms.

      Do you ever use the PV? I had years of SE tuning, the original then the orange box. Used the TTS on occasion, but never the TR software.

    What Does the EPA say ?

    • @MasterTechMiller
      @MasterTechMiller  7 місяців тому

      We don't have EPA here. Our State is pretty relaxed about it all.
      Sometimes you may get a cranky officer that will write you up for modified exhausts. If they do, you need to have the stock one fitted then have it inspected & ticked off. Then you can swap out your OEM system to the aftermarket one.
      It's simple, don't be rude or aggressive towards the police, they won't write you up.

    Hi Tommy just wanted to ask why. Plug up the oil passage in the cylinder head. What does that benefit from

    • @MasterTechMiller
      @MasterTechMiller  8 місяців тому

      The passage is there from factory. It's part of the pil cooling circuit around the exhaust valves in an effort to keep the heads cooler.
      The head gasket has an embossed area that specifically seals around the passage.
      The idea of tapping the passage & adding the screw plug more or less eliminates the possibility of an oil leak from the head or gasket.
      In saying that, I have never came across and M8 Head that's leaked oil from that area.
      I just like the effort & level of professionalism taken with the heads

      @@MasterTechMiller understood. I also build big cubic inch M8. And I have never also. Sean an issue with oil leak at the heads. But plugging the hole will now make the valve area on the seat run way hotter with no oil to it. That could eventually burn up the seat of the valve through time.

      Hi Tommy, why not 515 cam instead of 540?

    • @MasterTechMiller
      @MasterTechMiller  8 місяців тому +1

      @iginogasparini3369 it's not the feed or return passage. It's a casting hole to clear out the other passages. No harm to the cooling system. It's blocked off by thr OEM head gasket in stock form.

      @MasterTechMiller  8 місяців тому

      @RickyG512 I didn't have a 515 on the shelf when I picked all the parts. This 540 has been there a while so I thought why not.
