131ci Breakout / Build & Dyno Tune / Stupid Fast

- Опубліковано 5 жов 2024
- 131ci Builds are becoming very popular & are fast proving to be the new level of performance for many Milwaukee8 customers.
The Stage IV kit from Screamin' Eagle has all the right parts to make for a solid build. Included in the kit is CNC Cylinder heads with +1mm Valves in all corners, high lift valve springs & as the name suggests, have been beautifully ported via the precision of CNC machining.
A 64mm Throttle body & matching intake manifold supply all the air flow needed for the heads. 5.5gps Fuel Injectors, Screamin Eagle heavy duty Tappets & a Screamin' Eagle SE517 Cam.
The SE 517 has been swapped out for this build to the CYCLE-RAMA CR512.
Reasons for the cam swap are, more HP & TQ, better throttle response, smooth transition through entire TQ curve, wider Torque curve & most importantly.....better SOUND!!
This build required a little more added strength with a true'd, plugged & welded Flywheel to keep the bottom end in check.
I used S&S Billet lifter cuffs to help support the lifter with the higher lift.
The CYCLE-RAMA Compensator was installed to keep the Primary Drive in check & 1275nm Clutch Springs keep all the HP & TQ going to the ground.
There is a lot of work that goes on that is not captured on camera or included in the video, such as measuring piston to bore clearance, setting piston ring end gap, matching of the intake manifold to the heads & MOST Importantly, HEAT Cycling the engine.
I try to keep the video exciting & moving along without boring you too much with many many MANY minutes of footage where you can't see exactly what I'm doing or it's too hard to film by myself with the GoPro.
Please leave any questions in the comments & will get back to you as soon as I can.
Cam comparison video of the SE517 to the CR512 can be found here: • 131ci Stage IV Lowride...

We in the USA love a good “skid” too, lol. We can do some “skids” too. You’re doing an awesome job with these engines and explaining the cams and customer wants. I understand not being able to be a full time UA-camr. With a full time job, family, and life it’s hard to have time for it. Just know we appreciate it.
Thanks for being a genuine person & being able to understand.
I really appreciate the positive feedback and support!💪💪
The customer delivery and test ride said it all. Super job and build. No question of the final dyno results your facial expression @ 12:55 said it all. Thanks for posting.
Capturing the customers genuine reaction after the first test ride is something I've always wanted to get.
Not only a talented tech mate but easily 1 of the most approachable supportive blokes on the planet and always super keen to share his knowledge.
Nice build and tuning; 140hp/145tq specially with the less than optimum exhaust system. The Cycle Rama 512 Cam performs quite well with the HD-SE 131 Kit. Very nice curves on the Dyno Sheet. Well done. 2-23-2023

Can’t believe iv only just found this channel! Your videos are unreal mate.
Quality content
Cheers for the awesome feedback mate! I really appreciate it.
I'm a full time mechanic not a full time UA-camr so you'll have to be patient between uploads as it can be a month or 2 between uploads.
Cheers again for the support👍👏
Love your work, seems you put a lotta love in your work and it shows.
Surely one of the best H-D technicians in Australia 🇦🇺
That's what I'm aiming at
One of the Best on the Planet I imagine !!!
@@MasterTechMillerOh, I would say you're way past Australia. You're into global ranking !!
Edit; 140hp. Holy shit !!
Badass, damn near got the magic power/torque ratio 🙏🏽 can’t beat the feeling of that 1:1
i just came here to see what's involved in a stage 4 and this video was awesome, answered questions i hadn't even thought to ask yet. top stuff mate
Cheers for the feedback mate
Awesome work Tommy, when I'm able to ride again,
end of this year early next year, I'll be needing your magic.
( had a headstroke & cancer plus heart disease in mid November 2020) doin rehab now, for now I'll watch video's, again great work.
Oh man!!! What a huge set of hurdles to overcome!
Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Thanks for the feedback 🙌
I'd love to help you out with you Harley requirements mate. Looking forward to it👍
Congratulations to builder and owner
Bike looks and sounds absolutely amazing
Great build
a lot to learn here from you even if i don't have a harley you are great do what you can when you have time
I don’t know how you don’t have more subscribers. Awesome channel. 🤘
Cheers for the awesome feedback! Glad you're enjoying the content
“Not another 131 build video”…..said no one ever! Your vids are making me want to buy my dream bike….that’s right, I don’t even have one yet and I can’t get enough of these builds. Love your work and keep it up!
Thanks mate!
Well I hope you end up being able to make that dream come true & get yourself your very own Harley!
Once you ride a Harley, you'll never want to ride anything else!
Thank you for the feedback & support mate!💪👊🇦🇺
@@MasterTechMiller Not a problem! I’ve recently taken a ride on a Fat Bob, falling in love I think. Who down in Vic do you know that works on bikes as professionally and meticulously as you? (If that’s possible!)
That Fatbob is definitely a very fun bike mate! Best suited for sportier/aggressive riding styles but still great to cruise on.
Unfortunately I don't know anyone down in Vic that I could recommend.
I have had guys send their bikes to us for work and we send them back.
We could also organise the sale of the bike when the time comes & do any work you want done along with any accessories fitted then ship to bike to you all ready to go straight off bat. We've done that before with interstate sales.
@@MasterTechMiller awesome! When the time comes I’ll drop you a line and see what’s what. Keep up the great vids, was a great format seeing the customers reaction before reading out the dyno results. Loved it!
Thanks mate! I look forward to talking with you in the future & hopefully I'll get to see your reaction when you buy & ride your Harley!!!😎🙌
Damn, what a bike. I wish you were in the US.
Cycle-Rama is right down the road from me. I’ve been in there and talked to them about doing work on my Big Dog… pretty neat to see them in Australia.
Also, your build skills are awesome. I’m looking at the 2023 Breakout, and seeing the breakout you just built makes me think “wow”
Say Hi to Wes & Pam for me next time you drop by there.
Thanks for the feedback and support on the channel 👍
And tire manufacturers thank you
Amazing build! Love your work
Mate your the best Harley tuner out and showing the burnouts with it love it we love good skids here in Nz great tune and work what a beast of a bike
Cheers for the awesome support and feedback mate!
Not sure about the best tuner out there though, I like to think I'm still gaining knowledge with every tune. It is such a simple, yet complex process.
Skids are always good fun that's for sure 🙌🏍💨💨💨💨💨💨💨
You have, in my opinion, the best job in the world sir. Love the videos.
Thanks mate. There are not many bad days that's for sure.
Well done ( mate ) i am buying a new fat boy in NYC. I have a Gen2 VMAX and love it but it does buck at low speed. I will ride my new 114 and when the time is right upgrade to this 131 kit. Who would have ever thought a Harley could make these numbers ?
Absolute beast. These 131 builds you're doing might look the same on the title of a UA-cam video but they can be vastly different depending on the customers wants or needs. You're achieving great results mate. As soon as I can get organised I'll get my Breakout up there for you to give it a kick in the guts.
Fantastic video. Great to see a quality worker at work!
Cheers mate! Glad you enjoyed it
Great vids, I've watched all to help me build my breakout.
Cheers for the awesome feedback mate. Hope it's helped with your build
Mate, you're the master. Beautiful build
Thanks for watching!
Great job, lots of excellent info, edited just right!
Cheers mate
OMG that is freaking awesome and you did it right with the bottom end!!! I'd hate to see his monthly rear tire bill. LOL!! :)
😂🤣 he's definitely been through a few tyres that's for sure.
Another great video Tommy, legend!
Thanks mate! 😎💪🇦🇺
son unos artesanos estos tipos los re admiro , como me hubiese gustado aprender de mecánica de moto y trabajar allí . mis saludos desde argentina
Thanks for watching 👍
That bike looks sick. Great work.
Great set up and a great build
Good to see a new project from you! I've been without a bike since 2016.. I think it's time. I was thinking about the low rider s but luke the looks of the street bob better.
The Lowrider S is my favorite Softail. The Street Bob is definitely up there too though.
The skinny rear tyre on the Street Bob makes for lots of fun if you know what I mean 😂😋😂
Same. Can't go wrong with the low rider s or the street bob.
Great build buddy!!!
Thanks 👍
Sending love for the build from the USA. That bike and the results are awesome! Love the elimination of the rear signal stalks. Trying to find that exact under fender kit.
Gday mate , I’m new to the Harley family, great channel, and that Breakout build video is a bloody ripper. Well done mate. Keen to watch more .
Bloody good skids to, thanks.
Cheers mate, appreciate the feedback and support!
Welcome to the Harley world!
Rolling burnout is 🤘🏼
Wow mean build and looks snd sounds like a great combo with the stage 4 kit and that cam
Thanks mate! It's definitely got more than enough power to party when you want.
Great work, awesome bike!
When your mechanic wears riding boots to do his job.lol.awesome build, and cool video.
Thanks for watching
When you first fired her up I did a "face". You then turned to the camera and did the very same face 😂
😂😂👌
Love your work Tom
Appreciate the new vid. Great informative content. Cheers!
Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed it 🇦🇺💪
great presentation
Awesome work.
Yep would make more power with two into one like a Bassani but hey it's his bike and REAL nice
Nice sounding bike!
G day mate im in nsw though ill use A.P.E and you Tommy for my Build awesome Vlogs keep them comming cheers
Mate that's awesome news! I would love to build your engine combo for you.
If you didn't already know, The dealership I work for is owned by the same guy that owns A.P.E so if you are dealing with me, you are dealing with A.P.E
You Da Man Tommy, as always, Tuff Build....
Thanks Brad! Glad you enjoyed it.
We are well overdue for a beer or 2 mate....
what a beast!
Gold
Excellent!
Well how possible is it to send my new lowrider s when I get it to you for that stage 4 kit?... own a 2005 night train now with 27000 miles its awesome!! I'm not getting rid of it but I am gonna by the new lowrider s. That kind of power is what gets me going. Oh I'm in the USA 🇺🇸
Fanominal job as always 🤙
🙌 Thanks mate!
What fun is that, like a 5 year old getting off. Love the conversion, it would be a good time rapping through the gears. I guess i dont see the sense in tearing up the tire, belt, and brakes. Maybe its me!!!
🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Stirring up the Yankees 🇺🇲 with "we do the better skids"😂😂🤣😂🤣🤣😂
I like this build, anyone can build a motor just for a dyno printout with massive number's..... But that's an issue for a tape measure 🤣😂🤣.... But I've always said it's better to make usable numbers, especially within the rev range of normal riding...... As it's a road,NOT A DRAG STRIP.....
Keep Living the F#@KING Dream ❗
Safe travels 🙏♥️🐾🐾
💪🇦🇺💪
Cheers for awesome feedback & support mate!!
It's no secret that we do the best skids on the planet 🌏👊🏻
That's exactly right though mate. I could have put a cam in there with over 250° of duration with more lift and made lots more power but it would have softened the bottom end off and not had the huge hit from 2000rpm.
Time & place for all different combos and as you said....numbers ain't everything 🇦🇺
Cookie approves.
BEST Harley tuning and Look!!! Somebody know what is the EXHAUST NAME or what is Company name of the 2 pipes exhaust, very nice sound!!!
They are FREEDOM Radical Radius. The owner has modified the ends caps. They normally have a 'slash cut' end cap but they've been cut off straight
Loving the videos and the builds, new to Harley and just purchased a 2023 Breakout, in regards to the Freedom Radius Pipes, are they better than the V&H Big radius pipes, got these and as part of the Stage 1 kit. Keep up the good work and good to see a some local content.@@MasterTechMiller
Finally found an Aussie channel with great content 🎉
You said these stage 4 builds are getting more popular🤔
I just had my 22 CVO Road Glide made stage II
I was talked out of going the full Monty on a tourer what’s your thoughts
Thanks for watching, mate. Congrats on your current setup.
I'm not sure why they would've talked you out of going any further 🤔
I build plenty of big cube tourers with no issues. There are a few things that must be done to ensure longevity of the build its no secret.
Where are you located?
I've just built a 131ci CVO RoadGlide Limited. The video will be edited & uploaded in the coming weeks.
Country Vic
Was interesting re the twin over single pipe scenario I didn’t want to change out my pipes as Super Trapp were the only pipes made that fit the scorched chrome and I didn’t want to lose that look
I had to go to bigger injectors so to get the most out of the setup
Will look forward to watching that one
Awesome Job and of course an awesome bike! Is it correct that i see 3 holes for 3 Ignition sparks? And yes, it gives a lot to do when you rebuild and tune an engine! TX for sharing this video
The Milwaukee8 uses 2x spark plugs per cylinder head so 4x spark plugs all up.
faaaaaark yeah!!! ✊🏾
When we reach 200 I will buy.
Get your cheque book ready because there is something in the works for this very bike.
hello, congratulations for the channel you are number one, I wanted to ask you which mudguard is the one mounted on the front because it is wonderful.. thanks
I'm not sure what the fender is as I did not fit it. It was already fitted to the bike before I did any work to the bike.
If I was still in Brisbane, I would be straight to your sales to get a low rider s
Do I need to get the SE tuner for S&S slip-ons on the low rider s 117? my dealer in NZ doesn't have a dyno and the closest place is a few hundred k's away
@@mintpaul Hi mate.
NO. If you are just getting the Slip On pipes then you don't need to get a tuner.
The base calibration in the ECM has been done with upgraded air filter in mind so just adding slip in pipes won't effect it much at all and the ECM will still have learning window margin to make any adjustments if needed.
@@MasterTechMiller Thanks again and love your vid's
Pipes definitely look good on that bike maybe sacrificing a little bit of performance but, who cares when you've got a 131ci
Exactly right mate! 💪
love it
How much can a twin cam 110 stock screamin' eagle improve in terms of horsepower with stock exhaust and a tuner?
I've never seen a bloke burning rubber like the owner on the video, here in California. Cheers!
fantastic work as always Tommy. Do you know if the S&S quickie pushrods fit inside the screamin eagle black pushrod tubes on the M8... ive been unable to find the answer as someone mentioned they dont. thanks
Thanks for the positive feedback and support.
Ok, the S&S Quickie pushrods are designed to work with the STOCK pushrods tubes on the M8. Now the stock pushrod tubes are slightly longer than the Screamin Eagle pushrod tubes.
The Screamin Eagle pushrod tubes are slightly shorter than the stock ones, they have to be shorter to allow for wrench clearance and the bottom to make the adjustments.
So with all that said I would assume very confidently that the S&S quickie pushrods will fit inside & be able to work with the Screamin Eagle pushrod tubes.
...nice build....im amazed he isnt runnin an open belt.
can you do a video going over the push rod adjustment procedure?
Will do my best to put something together
Great vid, I recently had my Fat Bob fitted with the same kit but using the 131 kit cam, hilariously fast now. How much extra do you get from your recommended cam please?
Results vary from engine to engine as different air filters & exhausts systems are used. However this CR512 Camshaft generally goes early 150hp & mid 150s in the torque.
Thus bike was a little lower due to the pipes
The SE cam in the 131ci kit is shit. I swapped it out for the CR512 and its an animal now..
Let us see some Vrod engine build/upgrades
They're not very popular around these parts. We don't even really any for service work let alone performance upgrades. In my 15 years I've worked on less than 10 Vrods.
Nice build mate, good video.
Yeh it's been a while since your last post, but life happens.
Had the Q all along about the pipes but you answered there at the end.
With a 2 into 1 would it make another 5 or 7 horses ?
Regardless I still prefer the sound of a 2 into 2 pipe, ya can't beat that sound
Yeah that's right mate, would have picked up a few more numbers with a 2-1 but as you said, the sound!!!
Do you thing that Cycle Ramma cam you put in that build is better than the Star 3/4 cam?
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
What riser is on that bike?? I have a 2022 breakout with OEM bar and a thunderbike low-style riser and im afraid the cruise control button Will hit the tank
Im suprised you didnt use an updated cam plate w the higher lift cam(Fueling+) , like in ur other builds.
Watch this update video on the build ua-cam.com/video/Fx8E6tnqeIU/v-deo.html
watched Blockheads channel from the US ,i see they had to swap the transmission for a Baker unit in one of their builds
Yeah I wouldn't be surprised...they have definitely been hit & miss. We have done 2 full seasons of drag racing with north of 160hp & 160ft/lbs on 100% stock transmissions without a problem.
Yet on the other hand, some people destroy 3rd gear on a stock 114ci.
Wellll bugger...now I need to do the same to mine 😅 great vid mate. How much would that set me back roughly on my 2019 114 breakout?
Depending on your exact setup now with exhaust, air filter & tuning module you could be up for around 12k ride in ride out fully built & tuned.
If you already have a decent air filter, exhaust system & tuning module it will be less
Great Job boss amazing Breakout. Have a question for you my Fat Bob 2018 from 107 I upgraded to 124 S&S Stage 3 with 475 Cam and Screaming eagle throttle body with injectors. And Clutch plates with 2-1 S&S Race only with silencer making over 131hp and 144tq but its not that smooth any thing else is missing to make the bike ride smooth as stock ? Or its impossible once you go with these performance parts.
The S&S 475 cam is not known for being smooth. I would recommend changing to a CR485 from www.alphaperformanceengines.com.au
That will make the bike run smoothly & will definitely make more power. The rest of your setup sounds like it will be fine to keep running.
I am in the USA is this CR485 Australian product?@@MasterTechMiller
@amg5795 yes it is. However if you contact www.cycle-rama.com they will be able to get you sorted
Perfettto, Awesome Job!!!
23 ' 26' wheels???
23inch on the front mate. Rear is 18inch
Question for you Tommy ... 4:50 ... so there's no gasket between the crankcase halves, just sealant?
That's correct mate. Been that way since at least the EVO engine that I'm aware of.
I want one
I’ve heard you talk about what can be lost with different exhaust systems. What do you recommend for breakouts?
Either these pipes that on this bike Radical Radius or the Sharp Curve Radius option. Both are made by Freedom exhaust
Awesome job! What kind of pipes are those ?
They are FREEDOM pipes and these ones are known as Radical Radius.
Awesome work mate. With a build like this will you have to do work on the clutch? Always wondered
Thanks for the awesome feedback mate 👊🏻
So the stock clutches in the Milwaukee8 bikes are proving to be VERY solid. We upgrade the stock springs to the Heavier 1275N Springs from Screamin Eagle, and that's it! We have had NO issues with any clutches in any of our hi output engine builds.
Even the bike we drag race on a regular basis still run stock clutches with only the upgraded springs.
@@MasterTechMiller thanks for the reply mate! Means alot. That is awesome to hear about the clutches. Really enjoying the videos mate! Learning on everyone. See you on the next one!
@@adamhetherington839 no worries at all. I'm glad you're enjoying them.
New video will be finished & uploaded in the next week or 2. It's a 131ci Bagger build so stayed tuned for that one. 👊🏻🍻
Nice now add a little more torque with a 2 into 1 pipe.
I have the 131 screaming eagle kit in my Ultra Limited what is the best rpm to idle this at ?
950
Anything on a dyno is cool 😂
😍
would there be much more to gain from adding 6.2gps injector and one of your warflow ported intakes?
Will find out in a couple weeks time, because I am building exactly that in a 131ci Street Glide
North street home owners in Rockville would be sucking the rubber smoke for sure.
🤣😂
Nice results! Can you give a rough estimate around what money is needed to get these results starting with a stock Breakout?
From a completely stock 114ci Breakout you will to budget roughly $10,500 ride in ride out for something like this engine build. Obviously that's including the engine kit, exhaust system, air filter setup, tuning device, labour and dyno tune.
@@MasterTechMiller Thank you for the information!
What year is your Breakout, and did you have to do anything special to fit the 131 in there? Been thinking of putting a stage 4 131 in my 2014 Breakout, since it has a stage 2 103, and it's rather slow...
This is my friend's. It's a 2020 model and the 131ci engine fits straight in without any hassles.
Your 2014 Breakout is a Twincam engine the largest bolt on kit you can go with that it 117ci.
You can also buy the 120R Screamin Eagle crate motor which is a complete bolt in engine.
@@MasterTechMiller hmmm. Thanks for the info, I'll have to look into those. Any significant difference between the two other than displacement?
@@gagepuffinbarger6939 there is a fair bit of difference between the Twincan engine and the new Milwaukee8 engine. Mainly the 4 valves per head in the M8 engine.
Is it worth doing the upgrade from 114 to 131, if your riding 10,000 miles per year. My bike is 2020 breakout trying to figure out if I should spent 9k on upgrade for fast bike or get naked superbike
A few things to consider with an upgrade like this are; I recommend halving the service intervals for the engine oil & filter. So that brings it down every 2500mi.
The primary & trans oils can remain at the 5000mi interval.
Fuel consumption does increase aswell so if your looking to do longer hauls you will be looking for gas stations more often.
From 0 to 100mph these types of builds will crush just about any 1000cc Sportbike on the road.
What pipes you recommend for a 2022 street bob? What's getting you the best numbers?
D&D lowcat is my favorite 2-1 pipe for sure! Looks great with it's up swept design. Sounds absolutely awesome & has proven to be the best performing 2-1 I've used.
how to make popcorn sound in breakout?
??
What do you do for a clutch on a build like that? That clutch can’t be stock… right?
Clutch is completely stock except for the Screamin Eagle 1275nm springs.
Great video mate, looking to do the 131 kit in my 21 streetbob, can you tell me what the standerd cam is that comes with the SE kit? Id like to run the same set up as this here.
Thanks!
Hi Kurt, thanks for checking it out.
Here is a link to another 131ci build I did with the SE517 Cam that comes with the kit. This video shows how it performs as a bolt on kit

@@MasterTechMiller thanks Tommy, very impressive in part 3, did you end up getting 160? Also could i get away with running the factory bottom end with this build. The bike cops abit of a hard time here and there.
More of dumping clutch/ powerskid. not sitting on front brake
@@kurtdonovan4198 if you plan to be a little mean to it I'd highly recommend doing a stronger bottom end for sure.
Sold the bike before I had a chance to spend more time on it so I didn't end up getting the 160 but all good. I'll be doing another build shortly and aiming for over 160
@@MasterTechMiller ok no problem, il look at bottom end weld also, i just spoke with one of the boys at your shop, looking at a quote for this build you might see it around october if all good. Thankyou!

Engine swap 114 to 131 ?? With no modification???
What do you mean no modification? You need to explain your concern or ask a better question
@@MasterTechMiller do they have kit available to a 114 to 131 ? Or do you have to take the engine out and replace?
@edgargarcia940 Screamin Eagle offer a 114ci to 131ci bolt on kit.
The reason I had this engine out & apart was because I fitted an upgraded flywheel assembly.
Do you have the specs for the CR512 please, hard to find
No not on me mate, but if you head over to the Cyclerama website (link in video description) and send them an Email, Pam or Wes should be able to hook you up mate.
