@@ZOMBIELANDakaUSA In terms of technique Marshall is absolutely top of the world. But his musicality is another story. I love Marshall but he really can butcher improv solos. Not that he’s necessarily “bad” at improvising of course, but he couldn’t improvise anywhere near as good as guthrie
@@ShredST lol.. I listen to jazz since I was 12 years old and I really like guthries style of playing jazz. Its sophisticated but always really musical, melodic and grounded. Some of his lines are almost classically inspired, some of them sound charlie parkerish. Alsonhas a great sense of rhythm, groove and accentuation in his lines. His comping is also very creative
