If you’re using Ludwigs blade for this fight I highly recommend using it in just the long sword version not the great sword. You can get him trapped in the corner and R1 spam him to burn his health down pretty fast.
Yeah that ultra greatsword has fucked him multiple times in the walkthrough, using it in tight spaces etc.

It’s a pity that you can’t use it like that on the little pr*ck in the cathedral. The one that killed the crow lady. Cowboy is right he is the hardest one too date in this game.

I can attest that this is absolutely the way to go. Killed him on my second attempt using this strategy. He didn't even have time to hit me once because I was all over him like white on rice on a paper plate in a snowstorm.
For anyone viewing this later, a single bullet will knock him out of the Call Beyond AOE, and if you stay aggressive and close enough to him, he won’t even use it about 90% of the time

There is actually a 3rd tier of Moon and you need to find the brain of mensis and perform the gesture Make contact in front of the brain's big eye and stay there for a little while, idk how much it increases the blood echoes gained but I'd imagine by quite a lot.

It drives me nuts when you don't use L2 especially when killing something through a door. It's a vertical slam and then an upward cut. It's perfect for a door. Damn it Cowboy.
Same lol I use it more than the other two attacks I love the combo too from the smaller sword to the big one in the three hit combo

The giants outside of the first shortcut is actually an amazing farming spot.
Not really, you can farm like 20k in the 1st floor of lecture building in 2 mins
@@GeorgeKLSA The Lecture Building is easily the best place to farm echoes for me. Just get some Bold Hunter's Marks, maybe some Molotovs or a Flamesprayer, and have on the Moon rune and you got some easy echoes for whatever you need.

@@jaja8951 the cum chalice dungeon. It's a custom dungeon that gives you around -80000 echoses each time. Search cum farm for more info
When you fight micolash in phase 2 and he does a call from beyond just stay away from him, lock on and dash forward this will work and you won't get hit
Or dash to the side opposite the tentacles.
No, the best way to handle the call from beyond cast is pressure him. Just keep attacking,

This is the hardest boss for me thus far. Absolute pain in the ass. God I hate this game but it is so good.

I get the same way when I’m hungry especially playing fromsoft games. U make mistakes u normally wouldn’t make and then just get extra frustrated.
The moon rune you got at the bottom of the spiral staircase is the mid tier moon rune.
This fight with micolash was the MOST PAINFUL THING I HAVE EVER BEEN PUT THROUGH watching him run around and me finding and dieing to him twice almost had me delete the game . luckily I brought some poison knives and regular knives and my arcane was high enough where I could spam the executioner gloves spell from the stairs over his head,i literally felt nothing when this boss died no happiness no sadness i just teleported back to the hunters dream and cut the game off.
With the Micolash boss, when he is at half health and you chase him to the right place, you can also stay above instead of jumping down and just whitle away at his health with bullets or throwing knives. I find this method to be the safest.
Exactly what I did, he waits for you to follow him down and then he's heading for that room with the gate that slams down. If you stay up top he'll wait and is easy pickings from there. No worry's about him attacking, he just eats it.
Dammit. I misread your comment and got him into the room where he closes the gate and was trying to hit him with ranged shots from above and maybe like, 3 out of all of my throwables hit him cuz he stays out of sight/reach
@9:54 when you run past the giants and back, and the frenzy starts hitting, it will kill the giants. You get 11 thousand+ echoes for that simple run you make. Could be a place to gather many in half a minute (farming).
Just noticed the big momma chick looks like the locust bug guys from ring city.
A small hint: if you are online and don't want invaders, make sure to go offline in Nightmare of Mensis because while bloodborne is mostly dead online, it is still a heavy PvP zone for those who still play.
The Big Mommas are looking for the Big Daddies and Little Sisters, but they're in Rapture now.
Really enjoying the walkthrough so far, Cowboy and its helped me pick up on a few missed things and tips. Micolash Cage can be tricky in that 2nd phase, so I usually always use the poison knives strat even though it doesn't always work, failing that molotovs and oil and marrow ash work well too to finish him off. Will you be doing the dlc?
This game ain't even fun. Can't wait to finish it and forget about this nightmare

Beaten this game about a dozen times. Got platinum and all. Never knew fire stopped those annoying worms from coming out 🤦🏻♂️ always thought it had to be a visceral
Also the other 18% gem you’re thinking of is in the next section after Micolash. Where the multiple pigs and shadows are. Pretty sure it’s by a tree

I recently found your channel about a week ago. For finding blood stone chunks, madman’s knowledge etc.
I gotta say it is so refreshing to find a walk through/guides where we can see a fellow hunter goof up or die & leave it in a video. I will take seeing those fumbles or a “perfect” run. I’m relatively new to Souls/Borne. So it’s cool to see experienced hunters still have so trouble here & there.

also you dont need to chase him into the room. if you get him in a room with no mirror just stand outside the room and throw 3 psn knives at him he will take dot and keep staggering and dissapearing into mist when he resumes standing in the room psn again rinse and repeat to finish the most irritating souls boss ever.

Started level, something about a "bell-ringing woman" popped up on my screen. Thought nothing of it. Proceeded on to the giant area around 5:00, and my first encounter with another real player consisted of them walking up behind my fading corpse and clapping behind me as I died to them. 10/10
Addendum - Managed to beat Micolash first try. 11/10

@@thizzkid949 Maybe u know this by now but u didn't mess up. If u hit an once or twice, they won't attack u so u still have a chance to not fuck anything up. If u wanna know if someone's an NPC or not, just hit them once and if they attack u, then u have ur answer.
first time i beat mikolash my heart was beating uppwards of 150 beats per minute, its like it ectivated a fight or flight response in my body

those damn spiders are the worst part of this game. fuck spiders
After beating the boss in the first half of the fight to the point where he teleports away, NEVER FOLLOW HIM DOWN THAT SMALL STAIRCASE that leads to him running through the door that then has a gate shut behind him. INSTEAD run the other way and he will teleport again back to another area and you can force him to run past you and you can hit him with no attack at all from him. I then got him to wait at the bottom of that little staircase and I stopped right at the top and was able to continuously shoot him with my gun and he didn't teleport, he was stuck there waiting for me to either follow him down or run back the other way. He stood there while I took away the 2nd part of his health with my gun and he never once touched me the whole 2nd part of the fight.

@@liltellem yeah, when you walk in the door from outside, go left. There’s a walk way to the other side. After I died I was speed running in expecting a bridge, I fell to my death losing all the echoes!
I hate I missed this part of the stream lol. Theres a big cheese for mico in his second phase. If you get the puppets out of the fighting room and towards the mirror right outside or in the very back corner and kill them again so they wont agro if they spawn. then chase mico to where he stands/drop in front of said mirror, you then wrap around and drop into the fighting room and slowly walk towards him to where you can lock on and throw poison knifes. He wont run but will kind of poof repeatedly and the puppets wont eff you up while you do this. Bring bone powder and shoot him for extra damage and time ur shots if you can. it's a slow process but far less scary then getting clapped by the call from beyond and tentacle arm.

What is going on? Pretty much every boss after the first few are bad to this point and only get worse.
The torch works well for finishing off those enemies. That way you don’t have to waste your bullets.
How does his holy blade do so much damage?

I have a problem here! I killed micolash and before lighting the lantern i went to search for loot and died! I can not go back to micolash's place now! What can I do? Is there a way to mergo's wet nurse?
One cool thing I’ve seen with Mico is that if you poison him with throwing knives before he jumps in the mirror you can still see his health bar going down just above the mirror. Kinda neat I suppose.

Remember you can interrupt the big star boom boom spell. Takes some quick attacking but it works, if you don’t do it in time say goodbye to your entire health bar though.
Idk if anyone else has said so, but you could use beast roar as an alternative to the augur for the Micolash fight. Worked like a charm for me.

You missed a ladder on the second floor of the lecture hall that goes down into his room. (The ladder is right where the giant with the glowing hands is.) He’s honestly not that important, you can kill him and get a rune from him though.

Yeah Cowboy is awesome to watch but I prefer his Dark Souls 1 run instead, he actually fought enemies and collected loot but nowadays he just skips most enemies, not as entertaining to watch if you ask me.

Not gonna lie this is by far the stupidest and hardest part of the whole game.
A quick tip if you don't wanna risk getting whooped by the big mama spider, if you stand down either side of the staircase, she won't attack you as you're not in her line of sight, but somehow your strikes can still clip through the wall!
I’m 3 years late but maybe someone can help me. I did some exploring after the Mico fight. And I did find the aforementioned cold blood by the mirror but I also found an Iron Door Key. Does anybody know the purpose??

At 7:36 where you picked up the Kin Coldblood, there is a sinister bell woman at that place when playing online.
I accidentally walked in here a while back. Imagine my surprise when worms exploded out of the first enemy I killed. I love how when you think you're used to the game, or you're getting comfortable, it finds a new and horrible way to try and kill you.

The greatest thing happened, Micolash had one shot me 4x in a row and on my 5th attempt he somehow glitched through the floor and lost all of his health and the game respawned him at the second phase area with 0 health, while chasing him I landed on his head when he dropped down and i one shot HIM, revenge is sweet
27:23 actually when he does call from beyond you should try to get close to him, because if your too far away you will get one shot like here, since more of the beams will hit you xD if you ever used it yourself, you would know that if your too close it does minimal damage, but if your far away its a nuke. the wiki also says that its really easy to get staggered out of it, so you might try attacking instead of getting hit xD
NG++ Micolash is no joke. Basically everything one hits you.
I find staying locked on and dodging into Call Beyond is the best strat.
If you don't get on him when he does that 2nd phase arcane attack quickly it will decimate you I made the same mistake of staying back the first time.

You can kinda cheese mickolash in his second phase by luring him into the mirror at the lowest point ( where the iron door key is). He'll reappear by jumping out of the mirror in the main room. If you're fast enough and hit him right after he appears, he'll get stuck in a loop where he constantly jumps out of that mirror so you can keep hitting him.
Very handy and safe strat at NG+
I had that happen It was easier to kill him bit its was annoying asf because all he would do is run and I try to hit him when he is running and sometimes I miss and I had to keep chasing him until I finally killed him

Again, another boss where I say if you don’t want to fight this guy fair, because he sure as Fk aint fighting fair, then use this poison throwing knife strategy in the video attached. Dude spams magic and it stuns you enough that you can’t even heal quick enough before he claps more magic at you. So I found a video where you can cheese the Fker with poison throwing knives even before he gets to his 2nd phase. Just watch this video because its way too hard to explain. Skip to the 2nd phase cause Cowboy’s first phase advice is better than this cheese video but its 2nd phase advice is better than cowboy’s. July 30th of 2023 - slayed Micolash after some time chasing him while he was talking nonsense and moaning like the Cleric Beast or at least some cheap copy of it, even considered look on your guide but somehow with my 50+ insight i could slay him without a guide. this boss is patience test.
Edit : i've tried my best to not curse hiw with all the names I could think, almost died to his AOE but slayed him in my first try without guides for his fight.
I often find myself having to go back to the hunter's dream and pick up items I am low on because Cowboy only mentions what will be needed once we are there.
It's up to RNG (randomness) as to if many of these fights go easier or harder. If they spam powerful attacks over and over, RNG is not in your favor. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a way to steer the RNG towards your favor.
I F’n used all my vials after I beat him and died looking for a lantern , then Omw back to him i accidentally fell from the floor because I didn’t notice the bridge was no longer there . There goes 50k echoes ….

Ur walkthrough helped me so far but Host of the nightmare boss on second part of the fight if he is using move "call of beyond" shoot him before that it should it cancel it
Tip for killing micolash 2nd phase
Go to the place where you can see him waiting down
Don't jump down
Just kill him from up using quicksilver bullets
Use your hp to get more bullets
Use vials to heal
Repeat
Bone marrow ash can speed up the killing
I know this is an old post but this worked perfect for me. Stood at the top of the steps and used poison darts.
I gotta say this game is underwhelming (6/7 on my fromsoft journey)
The areas are nice the weapons and combat are also cool and i wish trick weapons weren't only limited to this game.
I havent gotten to the DLC yet but the main story gameplay just gets boring after a while. It seems like most bosses are either gimmick bosses to chase around, ridiculously parryable, or a giant beast you have to keep running in circles in. I know this is the gist of a souls like game but I feel like getting towards the end having to fight someone like micolash is just so stupid at this point. I know the DLC has better bosses but man it took maybe a week to get through this game and it just didn't get me as excited as Sekiro or DS
Also Chalice dungeons are soooooo boring like not even fun in the least for me

Damn this fight was so annoying! he just kept running to mirrors so i just would hit him evry chance i got when he ran by...any way got him down to like 3 or 4 hits when he finally went to the room

All you have to do is shoot him when he’s about to do CFB. Aye also best to use a fast weapon with him because it will keep him stun locked until you finish your combo.
I keep dropping on him and then instantly get one shotted by the AOE. Its driving me crazy. I have no time to react. I like this game but honestly think it has the worst bosses. I liked demon soul bosses better smh.
