    Awesome vid! Just got my first amaryllis a few months ago! My only comment is specifically for myself because I’m a visual learner is that maybe you can add pics of the stages or something like that? Still a very helpful video!!

      Yes, pics would have been really helpful! If you have a sec. Check out my “after bloom care video” that video has footage of what they look like at that stage in the process

    What a beautiful collection you have!! Your video was very helpful! I potted some amaryllis bulbs for spring blooms. This is the first time that I have ordered and potted bulbs. My Rosy Star has four beautiful blooms but the blooms have been dripping a sticky liquid on the table. Fortunately, the table is protected with a glass top but I am concerned that I can't place the plants on an unprotected table or the fireplace mantel. Any ideas on how to control the liquid from dripping and possibly damaging the surface on which it is placed?? Thank you!!

    OMG i'm so bad at plants. This was given to me in Dec. Bloomed till January. So now February, flowers are gone, I cut the stem and now i'm like … now what? LOL.. i'm lost. So, what I understand, stop watering until a few weeks later? so dormancy in my case after summer? for two to three months? ok, i'm guessing by August take out from dark so they'll bloom by December.

    Why do a lot of growers say to leave the stalk on until it yellow’s because it is still getting power from the sun?

    • @TylerMossop
      @TylerMossop  2 роки тому

      Once it’s yellow the plant has absorbed the nutrients, I think that may be what you mean?

    Please help, I have 10 different bulbs that this year when I restarted them I only have long limp leaves and no flower stalks on any of them.

    • @TylerMossop
      @TylerMossop  Рік тому +1

      That’s fine if they went through dormancy and the bulb is still nice and firm to the touch, they may rebloom. The flower stalk takes time to grow as well as new foliage…

      @@TylerMossop so thoughtful of you to reply so quickly. I was hoping for Christmas blooms from all of them but I guess not. I didn't know how to handle them after last years blooms. If they don't produce a flower stalks by Jan. should I just force them into the holding / dormant cycle for next year? 🤔
      Ty again God bless. TX Barb

    • @TylerMossop
      @TylerMossop  Рік тому

      @@barbarahill5052 Happy to help! That may or may not work but defintely worth a shot. Otherwise you may need to start with fresh bulbs. Ideally, I think the best advice I can give is: pot them up get them to produce leaves so the bulbs can regenerate, if no leaves are being produced you know that those bulbs may no longer be valid. Then at the end of summer you can start the dormancy cycle.

      @@TylerMossop ok again thanks. I surely hope I don't lose them completely. I've spent a lot of $ on bulbs and was so expecting a beautiful explosion of color.
      I'll just patiently wait and see what develops.
      I'll continue to follow and enjoy your videos.
