    *It's great caught caught a brown trout on the first cast. **enjoyable.fishing** recommend if it was a little smaller it would be more effective for different species*

    @1Fish@Fish I was at Jeanette's today fishing the beach, nothing but a few solid taps and bite marks in my Gulp. Did not fish the pier but went north and fished Avalon pier. Nothing there either. The wind was SW, so that was a factor, and the water temp was 63, so that was why no Spanish Macks, although the weather and water temp reports gave different conditions beforehand. All in all it was a nice trip and a learning experience on what to do differently next time.

    Glad to see you catching them on the chrome colors. I usually use either white with red head or white with yellow head. The white with yellow is usually deadly when everyone else is throwing red heads. I was the only one catching them on the pier last vacation with that setup. I lost a bunch of nice spanish trying to bring them on the pier. The guys around me weren't nice enough to lend me their net (I guess because I was way outfishing them). I ended up with one 3lb spanish and a ton of blues

    4:24 Your wrist gets tired because you need a longer foregrip on your rod. You are holding it at the reel. I learned this after I got into rod building. You should be holding the rod blank at the foregrip and pointed straight up. That will relieve your wrist and make the rod easier to twitch. Find spinning rod that has a longer for grip. Its ideal to hold the foregrip/blank and the other hand on the handle of the reel.

    I love seeing these kinds of videos because I live so close to there and fish there as often as possible. Only about 30-45 minutes away depending on traffic. Really nice pier. I couldn't tell you how many times I've slept on the benches out there, fished all night lol. Last time I was there they don't allow all night fishing anymore unfortunately though. :( Anyways, another great video. Loving the content!

      If they are there, it would take an hour or less. If they are not you and everyone on the pier can fish all day and not catch one. The thing to do is to call the pier(s) you plan to fish he day before you leave and ask them. I don't know any pier on the OBX that won't be truthful. Then get the rig(s) you need when you get there.

    • @fishmut
      @fishmut 4 роки тому

      Michael Riggs ... with toothy critters (Mackerel) use a bit of wire ,it prevents bite offs . But you can risk it with out and lose your catch of the day and get upset because you didn’t use wire. People use it for a reason , Your choice dude.
