Another fun awesome video. What separates you far and beyond other fishing UA-camrs is your ability to educate others with tidbits such as how to gaff , free spooling and other tricks of the trade etc… showing your setups and sharing every detail helps us all be better fisherman. Not only do I thoroughly enjoy your videos but I usually learn a little something too…..Thanks
Thank you much, it's always a joy being able to share the experiences that make it a successful trip.
Hey man. I absolutely love the Gulf Pier and have fished it for 8 years now and have been waiting for someone to start a channel specifically for that! Keep them coming man. I love them!
There are numerous GSP pages.
I have never fished a pier, but it's shocking how willing everyone is to help! Gotta love the fishing community!
Yes! pier fishing is a group community where most everyone is willing to help!
Man I've been watching Beach Bum , Brant and Camera man Ron for a long time and you put them all to shame ' thanks for the great content
Fun day on the pier! Really nice catch.
Thanks for sharing your videos.
Really enjoy your fishing adventures!
Nice fish! Great job and your fish tips are great as well! Thanks for sharing.
“Come back catfoood “. lololololol.
Great entertaining video. Thanks!!
Haha ikr… glad you enjoyed it ! 😃
I moved to FL 2 years ago, new to salt water fishing. Learned more from your videos then anybody else out there on UA-cam. You actually show the setup the bait what species to target. Thanks, keep them videos rolling.
Thank you for taking the time to edit in the information about the name and catch laws. Very thoughtful.
I grew up fishing the Gulf in Louisiana, then I spent 18 years in Minnesota fishing for a record bass. I found the easiest way to make a Minnesotan mad is when they ask why I moved up there I'd say, well someone had to come up here and teach you boys how to fish lol. The biggest largemouth I caught was 8lbs. I usually limited out on my way to work in the mornings.
Now that I'm officially retired and back home, look out Grand Isle!
Great channel, God Bless!!!
I’m loving these weekly uploads man I know that not everyday you catch fish but I really appreciate your grind to stay consistent! Great video bud

You’re videos are always on point. I was down fishing in may and coming again in July. The June weed was thick but fishing was still pretty good. I got a small request if you’re down. Will you make a video of all the knots you use? Again thanks for the sweet videos man. Tight lines
Great video great catch
Looks like one of the best places around to be! Fishing and fighter fly-bys, I call that a great day.

Heck yeah! Nice king bro. Will be back there in October. Can’t wait to hear that drag screaming. Great vid!
I love it! October is one of the best months for fishing (weather depending)
I’ll be down there in Aug- hope to see you there!! 👍🏼🐟🎣
It’s good fishing that time of year !! Tight lines
Awesome video!!! The King is going to make someone some awesome dip
Yes it will, the fellow I gave it too fishes freshwater and never caught a big one like that before. I'm glad he can take it home.
I love your videos
I was just out there last week not much luck tho. Caught lots of sting rays at the beach house a couple pompano on your rig I got At hooked up. Also watch a shark go after a giant tarpon. 20 feet from us pull the tarpon ashore cause it was floating around us and took some pictures of it. It was a monster.
Used to do great bout 15-20 miles due south off dauphin island with a good chum and some ribbon fish. Loved getting into a school of kings or whatever would come along
Man I have to make a trip up there from Estero, FL! Looks like an insane time
Nice king!
i need to make a trip to alabama one day and fish this pier, always wanted to catch a spanish
We have an excellent fishery here for sure
Nice dude 👍
Atlantic bumpers and crazy fish are two different species. Bumpers are more round and have a greenish blue back with chartreuse tail and fins with an oil black dot on their tail. Crazy fish are more oblong and silver also Crazy fish have their stigma because they have a poison sack that connects to their belly horns and dorsal fin and causes pain.
Great fishing I liked hearing the reels screaming, I'll try that treble hook and wire set up thank you.
Thanks, me too! Good luck!
Completely agree with the crazyfish, people talk bad about them but I've had good luck with them, caught my PB 70 lb Cobia on one snapper fishing!
Yup! They’re excellent , hardy baits. My favorite for Tarpon 👌
Hello Steven I enjoy watching your videos so much, which has inspired me to go ahead and make a trip down there and go fishing at Alabama State Park Pier this weekend. I'm making a trip all the way from Houston Texas just to get a chance to fish there. Do you have any tips that you would recommend on the tackle to use there?
Looks like so much fun.. looks intimidating though
It is very fun! And can be anxious/intimidating. Just gotta remember everyone is out there for the same thing and most are willing to help each other !!!
Another awesome video!
Thank you!!!
@@BamaSaltwater did you see the comment under yours where someone is posing as you and trying to get people to text him?
@@rick_inflorida Yes, It's happening all over UA-cam. I report as many as I can
Love your videos. Thank you for acknowledging our Good Lord. He makes all of this possible.
BRET,HI,,,,, THATS a NICE SPANISH MACKEREL fry that sucker into stakes, Ihave NOTbought any I,n a long time 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Enjoying your videos! My son and I will be headed down this Saturday for a week of fishing. We’ve never fished this pier. Where do you get your fresh bait?
Normally J & M Tackle or Hooked Up Tackle
Nothing sounds better than a loud bearing on the manual of a 706 with 65 lb power pro stripping off of it !!!
Yes!
One day I hope to catch a king Mack. Crossed off Barracuda (51”) my list a couple weeks back.
They're exciting for sure, both of those species. Except king , tastes just a little bit better haha
Wish we could use treble hooks in Florida but we aren't allowed to. Very hard to catch some of these species on inline circle hooks.
Dang. Nice King …off a Pier!
Thanks!
Quick question, so what fish do you keep and eat?
@bamasaltwater, I'm from Tennessee and really big into bass fishing / freshwater catfishing. I'll be in mobile bay area in the next 2 weeks. I have alot of flukes, fresh water jigs, and crankbaits. What size rod and reel , line , and basic lures would you recommend for saltwater on the pier and what times of day. I'm happy to catch any species, would love to catch and keep. But I can fish at night too. Thanks, - Trent from Tennessee.
I live in mobile, you should get by with a mid rod 15-25 test line and shrimp or squid if you can
what kind of reels are you using to catch the big fish?🎣🎣
What fishing rod reel and combo?
Hey great video. How much longer you will be able to catch Kings from the pier there?
We’ve caught them all the way into November, it all depends how cold the water gets in the fall 👍🏼
@@BamaSaltwater Thanks for quick reply. I usually go to the piers in Panama City and Fort Walton Beach but my buddy and I are now thinking about making run down to any piers in Orange Beach area during August or Septmeber
We keep seeing people with matching wristbands. What are they for? Thanks and love the videos
It’s your entry pass for the day
New sub! Liked 🙏😛
🤙🏼🤙🏼 Welcome to the Channel
Where you get your custom pier rod?
Ole drake
I’m in Foley & looking to get into pier/surf fishing. Do you have any resource for when species are in season and the requirements? Also what are some “must haves”?
This helps a lot with the size limits: www.outdooralabama.com/sites/default/files/PDF%20documents/Creel%20Limits%20B&W%20for%20printing_0.pdf . Also , must haves on the pier is a drop net and/or gaff (the net is extremely useful in bringing the fish up). Bring pliers, a measuring device, cooler with ice if you plan on keeping anything, a fillet knife etc.
all hail fish king
Hey man , you may not see my comment but I’m from Louisiana I’ve had great experiences fishing here but Ive recently gained family in Mobile I’ve been fishing multiple times and i haven’t been successful yet . Tried the pier i just can’t really get the hing of fishing here . If you could let me know when your going so i could get some pointers it would be very appreciated i love your videos . Thanks
Just curious do you get stopped by your DMR there for fish surveys there? I know in Mississippi we go to a bunch of the boat launches and piers and do fish surveys. Was just curious if you get asked for some answers.
Yes, they do surveys here on a few occasions
That beard is looking good brother
Thank ya !
I caught a kingfish about that size on my brother in law's boat first one ever boy were my arms tired keeper too.
Favorite weight/size bucktails and pompano jigs on the pier? I’m planning on doing a FL panhandle-into Alabama road trip for straight up exploring and fishing, hoping to catch some cool stuff on the piers up there
I love 1/2 for smaller species and the 2 oz for bigger species
@@BamaSaltwater thank you! From the videos I would have never guessed up to 2oz! I’m so used to using 1/4-3/8 and sometimes 1/2 oz in Tampa!
Where can I get one of those gaffs?
Wow how long was that king mackerel? It looked like it was fun catching. Why didn't you want to eat the king mackerel? It sounded like you were going to give him away to someone. That fish sorta reminded me of a wahoo I know that it doesn't have the stripes as a wahoo but it was rather long and bullet shaped.
I'm looking forward to more fishing adventures please make more videos. Are you going to take the boat out? Just curious. I don't mind watching you land them on the pier.
Looking forward to the next video. I feel I'm right there catching the fish.
The Lord continue to bless you with fish and crabs and more people watching you.
Janine Draper
Any idea when they’re finally gonna finish construction on the end of the pier? It’s been like that for ages it seems.
not anytime soon unfortunately
What is the best bait to use to catch a shark
What is your rod rated in the catch Spanish mackerel
7' MF
The next time you fish a rig fish the down current side usually tide pushes bait out
This makes me miss living close to the ocean.. I was born and partially raised in southern Mississippi (born on Keesler, raised partially in D'Iberville) and lived on Guam for a couple years.. Living in the middle of Northern California where it's 2 hours to the ocean kind of sucks. I don't care what kind of bass you're fighting or running light tackle with a big trout.. nothing compares to saltwater fishing.
What fun! Thanks for sharing the adventure. Reminds me of days gone by when I fished the Pier; maybe I'll go again soon. :- ) May God bless.
I love it ! I'm glad that you enjoy the experience. Tight lines to you
what reel is he using
I have no luck on a pier. I try to fish for mackerel and don’t catch any. Any tips
Put in time, nothing beats experience and patience haha. Also, observe those that are actually "catching". That'll help you figure out the best techniques/rigs/etc.
When I come down in July I want to fish on cedar point pier. You think for us great viewers U could do a video there plzzzzz 🙏🙏🙏
I’ll try to get over there ! It’s good fishing there for sure
i’ll be down in a week where do u get ur live sardines or u cast net them?
Normally Sabiki them
What are the wheels you've got on your cart? I'm looking to replace my orange balloon wheels and only use them on the beach from now on, I'd like a set just for the pier.
They're the standard Fish N Mate Wheels, J&M Tackle used to carry them, but you might be able to pick them up off of the Fish N Mate website : ** www.rodrack.com/accessories/tire-for-fish-n-mate/ . They work much better on hard surfaces, such as the pier, and hold more weight
@@BamaSaltwater Thanks dude! I can live with 70 bucks for a pair! I was gonna get the Grey balloon tires that are more rugged but they're 300 bucks, I could almost have a spare cart for that much lol.
