    as a note, Slinger is launching the new version in about 3 months. The new version comes with 2 rollers so now it gives dropshots, back spin, flat and the famous top spin

    • @ZeroLoveTennis

      haha the famous topspin. I wonder if it's even possible to get that much topspin with 2 rollers. There's a magic to just 1 but it is excessive.
      Interesting, I imagine it'll cost a fair bit more.

    The Titan looks like an amazing machine. My one criticism at the moment is their choice to use a zipper enclosure at the top. For a quality piece of kit that that, I'd rather see a more sturdy and longevic closure system like some locking clips or?

    • @ZeroLoveTennis
      @ZeroLoveTennis  9 місяців тому +1

      Hmmm, might be a little rattly. And slightly more bulky. I kinda see what you mean but it doesn't bother me. I think it has a high quality mold and zipper
      Also keep it mind how affordable it is for what it offers. Ball machines half this capable used to cost several times more and were much larger and not battery powered.
      Just because it's more expensive doesn't mean every detail will be extra premium.

    Wow...
    I was thinking of picking up a Slinger Bag at some point,
    but the Titan One is just SO much more versatile in every way.
    I ran into someone on an outdoor court recently using the Slinger,
    and chatted him up a bit; mentioning I was interested in picking one up...
    He was somewhat happy with it, but his biggest complaint was "the battery life."
    (Even with the extended battery/charger)
    How is the Titan One in comparison?
    Lastly...
    Where do you reside to be able to play outdoors this late in the season?
    I recall you making a "TennCom" reference in one of your latest videos, so my guess is Vancouver?
    I'm from Toronto, and the weather has been pretty decent here for Winter to hit outdoors...
    Problem is we don't have an abundance of "decent" public court to hit on (asphalt)
    none being regular club hard courts, and the one's that are shabby hard courts are VERY hard to get time on cause they're ridiculously busy with the locals that play on them daily and they spam the courts hard.
    Thanks, Time410s 👊

      titan must be better. I can get good hours out of the Slinger but, keep in mind, I only use it on the same side as me which means much slower speeds. From further distances, it uses battery much more quickly. I generally use the Titan at high speeds from far away and it seems to last quite a bit longer than the Slinger would from the same distance.
      TennCom is just a homie. A fellow tennis persona that likes my content and I like his. We chat sometimes and have plans for some collaborations in the future but I am in California.

      I think I clearly mentioned the price difference. Was the not clear? I'm actually pro both machine. Obviously one machine is way better but the other is much more affordable and maybe plenty useful as it is for many people.
      I might have an incentive for one machine but you're assuming that creates a bias. It should be obvious to anybody which machine is better. Which machine makes more sense for the individual is a personal choice and nothing about my video would indicate that I feel otherwise.

    As a previous slinger owner for over a year and current owner of spinfire v2, this is the first ball machine. I have come across that can give you a drill with variable spin. For example, for messing around on their App Store, you can set a forehand top spin to the deuce cord then a backhand slice out wide, then come into the net to put away the ball. This is very intriguing for someone that’s been looking for a machine that could simulate a lot more more variety from an opponent rather than just being fed the same type of ball speed and spin.
    The biggest downside to the slinger bag is manual adjustment and unrealistic top spin from the ball machine, it warped the ball the faster you have the speed set. The oscillator is useless as you can see where the machine will send the ball from due to external oscillator.
    The spinefire is a much better machine but I definitely cannot say paying over 2k versus $700 for slinger makes the spinefire 3X better. I’ll have to sell my machine if I seriously decide to buy the titan.

    • @ZeroLoveTennis
      @ZeroLoveTennis  5 місяців тому

      What is the spinfire? I'll look into it a bit.
      I think the price is justified but that doesn't mean I think it is affordable for everyone or that it means 3x better. But it is definitely many times more capable.

      Ah i see. The spinfire is in a similar price point but I think it's not as well designed. Would you agree?

      @@ZeroLoveTennis the spin fire, you can adjust feed rate, speed, spin, and trajectory, but then the setting remains in place unless you stop to adjust again whereas the titan seems it can adjust with each subsequent shot if so desired. Also, on the pinfire, you can choose linear feed, narrow feed, medium, and wide feed. You can also choose random horizontal and random vertical feeds, but the vertical feeds are not that useful as the machine doesn’t truly vary the depth due to the settings you place the machine under. For example, if you set to a high speed rate with heavy top spin, the machine will actually end up sending the ball deep, the court dimensions, not helpful for drills. I normally just set the machine on feed, sometimes medium feed, and if working on conditioning wide feed. Sometimes I’ll incorporate random horizontal feeds but random vertical feeds. If I wanna work on overhead, I have to manually change the settings, it’s easier write down what you want. Otherwise it becomes cumbersome. I’m having to manually figure it out.

      The random feature is very cool. I'll do a deeper dive on it because you can set it to do random things within a certain window as opposed to totally random as well. Like random height but same placement will adjust the speed as needed to hit that spot but with different ball heights. Random location will be as it sounds but you can set the intensity and height to be fixed and it will adjust accordingly to stay in. Very nice.

    Tennis Tutor ProLite w/ Battery - Oscillation $949.
    Slinger Bag Tennis Ball Machine $649.

      I can't say. But it's partly why I haven't thought too much of it but it does look very competitive for the price it is offered at. 50 balls? Not bad but it's quite cheap.

      Oscillating isn't that helpful or useful unless it's synced to the feed.

      2 reasons.
      1. it didn't exist at the time I got this machine or made the video (I believe)

    Now that these ball machines are beginning to use phone apps, which is great, I’m wondering how that will work out with folks recording their sessions with SwingVision or similar. Can the phone do double duty, or would the use of an Apple Watch aid in this endeavor…

    • @ZeroLoveTennis

      Well you could definitely do both but you'd have to stop filming (most likely) to control the app. Unless you can have both things open. IDK if my camera will allow me to film without the actual window open but I can run titan in the background and then do other things. Call, record, etc.
      A remote is coming very soon. I'd love that just for pause or play. Maybe it'll offer more, not sure but I hope it's smaller and lighter than my phone. Phone in pocket while swinging and running isn't my favorite.

      I think the most common complaint by far, which you can very easily find online, is the exact one I am making. I'm not even saying it's impossible or difficult to play with. I just say that it is unrealistic. The ball will jump or accelerate in a way that is not correlating to the arc or speed but you will adjust. It's just a ridiculous ball. Literally every single person using my machine has felt this same exact way so it's an anecdotal thing. I don't think the level of a person and their opinion necessarily brings more or less merit to the experience. Whatever you notice matters most for you. This may or may not bother/affect you but if someone straight up just doesn't notice that then I'd say it's more so they just aren't sensitive to differences like that, regardless of their ability to adjust or not.
      I've hit with a handful of the 4.5 and up guys in Vegas. I wonder if we've hit with the same people!

    • @ZeroLoveTennis
      @ZeroLoveTennis  2 місяці тому

      I get this kind of message ocassionally and I feel like the point is lost on those who say similar things.
      The point is literally to compare the price difference, to show you what the price difference gets you so you can decide which makes more sense at the given price points. It's not to make the Slinger look bad. I speak honestly about how I used it and the value it can bring and I suggest getting one if you can and that's all you need from a ball machine.
      The only reason Slinger specifically was included is because it's a very popular machine and quite affordable, it's an easy reference point and an obvious comparison to make.
      What did you expect a cheap vs expensive video to be? It is designed to highlight differences so you can appreciate them because many disregard the Titan immediately due to the price. Well...here's a video showing why the price is justified. But I still say to get the Slinger if that makes more sense to you/is enough for you.
      I hope that makes sense.

    • @MrGlenhill
      @MrGlenhill Місяць тому

      @@ZeroLoveTennis No quite the opposite. The "point" is the entire piece was presented as a hit piece on the Slinger Bag. A real turn off. This would be fair enough if say you were talking about a price differential of 20-30%. But it's not. The Titan is 300% of the Slinger price.
      At the price point $2,300 of the Titan there are a slew of ball machines from established proven industry names. It would have made sense to contrast functionality to them.

    • @ZeroLoveTennis
      @ZeroLoveTennis  Місяць тому

      We'll have to just disagree. I explained the purpose of the video, many people got the purpose of the video, the thumbnail says "best vs basic" and towards the end of the comparison, I break down what each offers and say to choose the one that works best for you.
      But you insist on this being a hit piece despite all of that, so...there's clearly nothing left for me to do but let you misunderstand or insist on what the intention was all along or net effect of the video is.

      @MrGlenhill Місяць тому

      @@ZeroLoveTennis There ya go again. Yes we can agree to disagree. I'd simply point out that OVER 50% of the responses you got to this "review" noticed the exact same thing I did. It was BY FAR the leading feedback point. Many far more vociferous than me... Perhaps we are just all "wrong". Or perhaps you view your subscribers as so ignorant they think the Slinger offers similar functionality to machines almost 4x it's cost??
      It just came across as weird and unessesary.

    the hydrogen sport proton is just as capable as the titan but significantly more portable.

    • @ZeroLoveTennis
      @ZeroLoveTennis  4 місяці тому

      I do want to test that one someday. It can't hold all the balls at once and it does telegraph where the ball is sending, though, since it is not an internal mechanism.
      Two cons I've heard from users that compare interestingly are
      - No ability to simulate hand-feeding balls from the same side of the court or even the T of the opposite court. The lowest speed setting is too high for this, and it is also limited by the limited maximum upward angle achievable by the proton. This isn't a deal breaker by any means but would be a nice option to have.
      - Lobs while possible with the Lob riser, are not the best in that you can't incorporate lobs with regular shots in a combined drill for ground strokes and lobs
      Both of which bother me. Lobs can't be thrown in because the storage mechanism sits on top, uncovered and the height is mostly adjusted but tilting the machine.
      But those could mean less to some people.
      Hope to test it someday myself.

    • @ZeroLoveTennis

      That is entirely up to the individual. For me, it absolutely is. For many, gaining a second of 0-60 speed in a car is worth the extra 20-60 thousand dollars.
      So the value of differences is extremely subjective and a difference of $1,500 hits everyone differently.
      For me, it's the difference between a very basic ball feeder to something closer to a tennis simulator.
      What about no machine vs having a basic one? Or an average academy vs the best? These decisions are entirely individual. It's not objective.
