      That's actually toroline wasabi with wasabi x in the crosses. Those actually paye quite long. Longer than hyper g and more spin. Toroline has an even better string out now called o-toro so I'd suggest it over what I was using in this video.

    I’m an ambi player since 2008 and regularly employ tricks like this at practice to get the right hand up to par. I am mainly a lefty but started playing as a right-handed player, only to realise I favoured my left. But it turns out my backhand is also ridiculous, so why bother playing just one direction? Forehands should always be good of course, but I can’t tell you how much my backhands themselves have informed the forehand of the opposite dexterity (right).

      It's not too powerful and I actually still prefer it. The BA Pro feels super nice though. However, so does the 105. I enjoy the pro very much but the launch angle is still lower and while spin is pretty good, it's still eclipsed by the 105. The 105 power level is certainly lower than my Dunlop SX 300's and possibly even a little less than the Pure Aero 98's but it's close, which is just about right. I think the layups and beam thickness offer a lot of feel and touch while the size of the head brings back a little power and the stiffness overall is kind of model ground. It's really my cup of tea. Just kinda wish it was slightly smaller in the head but maybe I'll grow to like that about it. The tradeoffs are small and some are good.

It's in the details like the intelligence and quickness of their decision making and reactions. I might react in a desperate situation in a way that will almost guarantee they win the point. They will do so in a way that will potentially win them the point or buy them another good opportunity if the tables are turned. They will hit excellent shots the first time that I would be lucky to get the first time but likely could on a second attempt. They're better right in the moment in many little ways. Not to say I wouldn't earn some points but things will average out in their favor especially on the more crazy rallies. I'll be more prone to error than they are and they'll be more capable of forcing it on me.

    Came across this video while researching ball machines. I am trying to sort out which unit is the best value ball machine under $1000. Lots to choose from: Nisplay N1 Tennis Ball Machine $899. Tennis Tutor Tennis Cube w/ Oscillation $909. Tennis Tutor ProLite w/ Battery - Oscillation $949. Slinger Bag Tennis Ball Machine $649. Sports Tutor eCannon Tennis Ball Machine $649. Lobster Sports Elite Liberty $1179 and now there is a new very lightweight and portable Nisplay Model L1 coming out for around $350. (there are videos online promoting the unit now). • @time410s

      Yeah the fact it's not actually available for purchase yet deters my interest. Everything is based on a non production model of the machine so who knows how the end product quality will actually perform or if the product will actually be manufactured for sale. I can't say. But it's partly why I haven't thought too much of it but it does look very competitive for the price it is offered at. 50 balls? Not bad but it's quite cheap. Could definitely be desirable over the Slinger Bag and if budget is the main concern then it would beat many. Portability also attractive. I can't really say more.

Single motor options might all have a ridiculous bounce and spin. Oscillating isn't that helpful or useful unless it's synced to the feed. I hope that narrows some options down for ya! • @time410s
      @time410s День тому

      I don't think the higher gauges will give you more launch angle. I'm also not so sure if it'll add much spin. Do you feel like strings affect launch angle a lot? I don't. I feel like that is much more a racquet thing than a string thing although some strings can be "launchy" that isn't quite the same thing. I would strongly suggest Zero in the mains or Toroline's new O-Toro string! That'll give you more bite on the ball and be an upgrade in snapback/spin potential. Launch angle shouldn't be higher but you might have more shape to your shot trajectory with the added spin but it shouldn't be a night and day thing.

      From or on them? They hold up quite well as a cross string. Zero broke here, not Sync. Across most strings they last much longer. Across my absolute favorites, it offers slightly less snapback and therefore a tiny bit more friction which does seem to shorten the lifespan of the mains just a bit but it's a small enough trade-off for other gains that it's worth it and still more durable than almost anything else out I've bothered to try, which is many strings.

  • @motownazn
    @motownazn 3 дні тому

    At what point during your tennis journey did you confirm you needed more weight? I keep trying small tweaks of like 1-4 grams that I’ll put on for a few sessions and then I’ll itch to just remove them only to find certain aspects of my game seem to improve (again?). It seems like if there’s a placebo or real effect of my racquet feeling better after modifying the weight, it only happens when I reset the weight back to the original weight and balance. I know this might be a hard question to answer but if you can somehow articulate that feeling (or if you already have in a video) I would appreciate that

    • @time410s
      @time410s 3 дні тому

      Where are you putting the weight? In the handle, a few grams is going to feel very subtle and might only affect the balance by about 1pt if put at the buttcap side, where it would have the most effect on balance. So for the handle, I'd almost suggest you'd want around 10 grams to notice much and that can be distributed across the length of it but with a concentration around the buttcap side, if that makes sense. Like maybe some wraps of lead around where the buttcap meets the handle and then a couple strips along the length of the handle. As for the head, a couple grams can make a big difference and if it's 12 area or 3/9 area will be very different. When did I confirm? Hard to say. I just noticed how heavy the balls were once I started playing against really heavy hitting 4.5 and up level players. My first experience was hitting with a Nationally ranked top 60 player with a world ranking around 1100. It's a matter of wanting as much weight as possible that I can effectively swing because the weight helps massively with stability of racquet and power. Tiny imperfections of contact can be wildly punishing against really heavy hitting players to the racquet. You will feel it flop in the hand. Even if contact is perfect, the racquet might still feel very weak hitting balls back. It just became necessary at some point. Happened to me several years ago. I've been hitting around the 350gram territory for about that long and swing weight generally around 330. That means a pretty headlight balance of like 8-9pts at that weight.

    • @motownazn
      @motownazn 3 дні тому

      @@time410s It sounds like it became necessary for a certain caliber of player and skill level that you had to deal with as you got better as well. I think with that in mind I will try to avoid more "tweaking" unless I find myself playing more frequently and improving more consistently lol I've tried a few places on the racquet, and like I said I've kept it minimal, because my initial try with lead tape a few years ago was a bit wanton with no real sense of balance. More recently I bought the Wilson Tungsten tuning tape and I've tried a few things: near the 5 and 7 position, with a couple grams in the buttcap. Then I tried about 3 grams in the buttcap, nothing on the hoop. That was okay I guess. I changed it so that I had a gram on the hoop on the 3 and 9. More recently I moved that same gram up to the 2 and 10 position, nothing in the handle, so slightly head heavy. Hoping to see how this goes tomorrow morning. After this I might just focus on "tuning into the racquet" without any additional weight on it. The first time I tried putting lead in 2021 I didn't measure it, just taped a whole lot along the sides and along the top of the frame. It was on a super light racquet (240 unstrung), so it was a very silly thing to do on something that was already 7pts HL to begin with.

    • @time410s
      @time410s 3 дні тому

      @motownazn I see. I think it depends how you want to swing it as well. Can be good to push things to extremes and figure out quickly if that direction is even the right direction. That's often how I get answers for such things and I find my balance later. I think it's harder to appreciate small adjustments and sometimes it's hard to know if it did anything productive at all. Just my 2 cents.

But my favorite would be zero and maybe o-toro right now. With Wasabi x as the cross or sync. Feel should be pretty good. I've tested in so many frames and find that makes a huge difference sometimes. Give it a try, consider experimenting with tension a little but if results aren't initially very impressive but most people find themselves surprised with the performance gains. ReString Zero is great. Toroline has some new stuff I'd highly suggest as well and honestly I'd suggest either over hyper g. Hyper is is very good but I can't say it's on the level of the options I mentioned. Highly suggest using one of the following as a cross string. In order of power from the cross, use; Enso pro, wasabi x, sync. From the same brands. Sync you can get in 18g which might offer more power vs the 17 despite that line being a bit more about touch and control All are truly excellent choices. Maybe try a couple combos and see what's best for you. I'd suggest the 17g or 16L options for the main string. 17 or 18 for the crosses. Good luck!

      @@time410s the original Wilson Profile were made in West Germany just after the Wall came down. I have The Profiles that aren’t the 2.7si, keep in mind I am 52 and when I was a teenager and younger adults were mostly flat hitter’s, and return of serve was important because most advanced players would serve and volley, so this racquet gave us a little advantage on return because the racquet wouldn’t bend in your hand, and it didn’t give you a shock because the racquet absorbed most of the impact, and the flip side of this racquet is that it is a awesome racquet for volleying especially in doubles, when you poach. I have the same Profiles I started playing with in the late 80s when I started playing better and played in tournaments. I have 5 Profiles and they are strung with different tension, and they haven’t broken down or warped or anything like that, the only thing I have had to get over the years is grommets because the strings we had back then would break easier in a racquet like this. I remember breaking 3 different strings on three different racquets in the middle of a match, and like I had one of my other Profiles strung with natural gut at 38 tension on the mains, and 34 on the crosses, and I used to hit so flat that the ball would literally clear the net by a half foot. Now I am older and I use more of semi western grip instead of a straight eastern, I use the eastern sometimes when I play against my friend that is in his early 30s and played college ball his serve is ridiculous and it’s really fun to try and return it. I am short so I am lower to the ground and I use the angles and sometimes I go down the line and get a lucky winner, it’s just fun to play with these racquets if they are strung for your style. Hopefully one day we can hit and I let you try them out. The butt cap comes off and you can add weight, but the weight is already in the handle, so maybe some lead on the top or side of the frame. You can find these racquets at goodwill for about 5.00 to 7.00 bucks. I got one for my friend beat box! In my opinion Wilson has never made anything like this racquet in the last 30 plus years. I will make a video about this racquet and give you a shout out, because it’s a lot of fun information about these racquets my dude.

    • @time410s
      @time410s 4 дні тому

      I would say those 300 or more numbers being too heavy is a wild claim. I don't even really like the idea of beginners starting with stuff around the 280's but the reasons get a little complicated. Has to do with how those tend to be balanced and how much that weight can hold your growth back or deal with faster balls terribly or enable bad technique, etc. I still consider 300 grams to be very light. My racquets, after stringing and customizing are often around 350 grams. I would say that 300-315 should not be too heavy and might be way better than something 280. That 280, when strung, might be about 300 grams. Usually, the heavier racquets will mostly be heavier in the handle, which is a very manageable area to have the extra weight and I think that makes it much easier to swing properly. If you can demo the standard weight version and the lighter, I would do that. You might quickly find you prefer and are fine with the standard option. Let me know? I wish you luck on finding the right racquet.

    Interesting design, for sure. Did you see the shelf design in the Geau bags? I have one of those now (Axiom 2.0?). Your current design with a lot of zippers in the shelving area means a lot of failure points?...the Geau shelving area is covered by a single flap with only one zipper, and adjustable shelves, though stuff does fall out easier when the one flap is open, like when hanging on the fence.

    • @time410s
      @time410s 4 дні тому

      I have seen it! It's a clever design. My bag with all the zippers might imply more failure points but the zippers around the center area for the shelves never gave me trouble. It was only the zippers around the racquet pouch that ultimately gave way. I'm sure they are under the most stress from their length and curve and being all across the length/height of the bag, some of which is on the bottom that touches the ground, etc. Maybe gets more racquets than fit comfortably, idk. That is the area which failed. My reason for having 3 shelves connected on all sides was to prevent the spilling but also add more structural integrity to the bag. The only downside of it was the difficulty to manufacture. Although...the adjustable feature of the Geau is a clever thing to embrace while also getting around that struggle. I'm not sure what I'll do on my update! Might be wildly different. Might just throw something together and call it a day. We shall see.

      @@time410s The price point is an interesting issue. The ADV is around $250, which I think is the outer limit for many potential buyers. I've heard a lot of balkers on that point. The Geau at just under $200 (with discounts) seems to be an attractive price point for a fully-featured bag. Yeah that is always the dilemma. Awesome bag but at what cost? And will it outweigh the cost differences? A lot of people want everything in one and then expect it to cost the same as something really average. Or scoff at the price just because of the price and not the context or merit of it. So, not sure which audience to appeal to. Not sure I'd get the mark just right the first try anyway but either route I'd go, I'd be in it for at least 300 bags. The design I made should be competitive, price wise, with that 200 or less category.

I have 4 of my own, plus I am a stringer so I am often carrying other people's frames with me as well, or need the space to be able to accept/take any on the fly while I am out. Love your shelf/locker system design, much better than the Geau bag's, AND much better than the Geau on the other side compartments as well. The Geau's main boast is the middle locker/shelf system, the other side pockets are a joke, hardly can fit anything else in them. Also, appreciate that yours actually looks like a racquet bag, the Geau one looks like a traffic cone (can you tell I am not a fan of it?). Tried the ADV Bags, they're cool, but not big enough for my racquet hoarding/carrying of customers frames + mine + all the other things I got. Currently using the crimson Wilson Clash V2 15 pack bag, as it seems to have enough space for me to hoard all my junk around, and I like that there are the two outer matching accessory pockets on each side of the bag that go along the whole length of the bag, with two dividers in them basically dividing them into two pockets, it's enough storage/separation for me to somewhat organize things, but still -- there's room left to be desired. Your bag is awesome, get a more updated one out there that you'd be happy with, I'll totally buy it 🤙 Another one I can think of that resembles yours with the outer pockets have cool mesh organization is the Prince 9 pack bag, which looks awesome too, but middle compartment is just a big pocket, no shelf system. My only chime in for a tweak to your bag is I know a lot of players prefer the shoulder straps to be on the top/front side of the bag, so when you put the bag down on the ground they're not getting all scuffed and dirty and then when done playing, putting them back up on your shoulders after getting all dirty - buuuuut, I do see the hiccup that would present with your bag getting in the way of the middle locker/shelf compartments.

    • @time410s
      @time410s 4 дні тому

      Thank you! Interesting tip about the placement of shoulder straps to avoid getting dirty. My thought was that the bag was designed to be sat upright so that wouldn't happen anyway but I still put my bag backside down sometimes. I figured straps so close to the front zippers might be annoying but I suppose either decision is a compromise of some kind. We shall see if I do a production run! It's quite an ordeal but it's nice to know you'd support the vision if I realize it. Thanks. I'll keep the channel posted with such things.
