If you pay attention, inmediately when the episode ends, they talked about that scene, so they actually watched it anyway on 18:49 , they are talking when Armin is speaking and they can hear the sound of the door when Eren is entering.
Mr Braus is such a good and wise character...The Message he delivered is so strong, its like a direct message from Isayama to the watcher
Yup, just like the monologue from Marley's soldier in the wall in episode 20 of season 3, such a well directed speech about violence and how nobody knows the real truth, they just want their "enemies" to suffer.
It remains me a little to "cycle of hatred" speech from Pain to Naruto... So true

floch: "eveyone? oh you mean you fools!
I love this dynamic. It is painful, but so well written.
Kaya is a child. She doesn't understand the metaphors or anything. Few episodes ago she told Gabi they could not be blamed by their ancestors mistakes, but she can blame Gabi for killing Sasha and that's all she can think of.
Niccolo is a bit different. He understands what is happening. That's why just killing Gabi isn't enough. He thinks of taking Falco away from her just she took Sasha away from him. He wants revenge, but he wants Gabi to suffer for the things she has done.
But Sasha's dad. That's a message from the author. The closure of the plots directly caused by Sasha's death, is the forgiveness he gave Gabi here. He understands that she is a child manipuled by this war just as Sasha was manipulated into a side. He understands that Sasha choose to fight for her people and exposed herself into that danger. And he understands that revenge would just keeping this cycle. What a man!

And the way Kaya reacted right after that it's proof that what Mr. Braus said is true.

I never understood the "children of the forest" angle. Can someone explain it?
@@ThisHandleSystemCanGetNicked The forest is a wild place. There are stronger animals and weaker animals. The strong animals prey on weaker. The rule the forest. The weaker are just fighting and running to survive.
To say that the world is just a big forest, is to say the world is a wild and dangerous place, in which most people have to fight to survive. If you're weak, you'll die.
Now, this hard aspect of the world is something adults have to face. But children usually are protected from that. Only when they get older they are introduced to the "harsh truth of the world".
So his point is saying that if we keep bringing children into the war, things will continue to repeat. Think abou it: Kaya was out of the forest. When she lost Sasha, she was introduced to "the forest". When she meets Gabi, the one who killed her, what was her gut reaction? To kill her back. To do that, would be to fully enter the forest. A 14 year old commiting revenge murder.
Gabi is the same. She was indoctrinated since birth, and saw her friends get killed in the war. And since she was already a trained soldier, she was fully given to the war.
So, the children of the forest are all of them, the scouts in Paradis, the warrior candidates in Marley... They are all too early being put in this dangerous forest that is the world.
And the fact that Isayama gave Floch a last name that means he's stuck in the forest, he's such a good writer.
What's amazing about mikasa here was that she mourned for sasha in her grave and cried for her in the airship, but still doesn't have the ill feelings towards gabi and even saved her from kaya. Shows that she understands that they're just all victims of war
Because our people are not stupid as the marleyan guys. Our people understand why all of this happened to them and why they are hated. They can see both sides and thats why they dont hate Gabi, because they UNDERSTAND. And thats the main problem with the rest of the wolrd, they just dont want to UNDERSTAND. Thats the same reason i side with Eren. He knows that they will never be able to change the world in way that the Eldians and the other could live in harmony. Eren knows that as long as there are Marleyans/other nations, they will never be able to live in peace. The only most effective way would be to use the rumbling and kill everyone else. Even tho i wouldnt really agree on killing so many people (especially the innocent ones and the ones who dont hate Eldians) in this case tho i would do the same !
@@ali_el_baba3665 it's not because Marleyans are blind but because they been through the cycle. The cycle of pain, suffering and such. Marleyans and eldians were forced to identify who the "real enemies" is, when in fact there's no such as. Marleyans could always move on from the past, yet, it is something they take to life. It's understandable to understand their hatred, but it's not tolerating to do those actions. Both have wrongs, everyone is the same. Neither eldians are good. No one is good. As you could see, eldians also mistreated marleyans (Yelena's team).
Gabi, who killed Sasha, met Sasha's followers, met Sasha's loved one, and met Sasha's parents.
And she had a moment with all of them.
Sasha's death was meaningful.
Yea and gabi stayed alive in the end had a family, children and got married while paradise got wiped with its people

She considers Sasha and everyone on the island as enemies, she's been brainwashed by the Marley and plus she's a kid, from gabi's perspective shasha was not potato girl but a murderer who killed her comradesbut I agree mikes didn't have to be that mean to Louise.
I understand everything about Gabi and i even don't hate her that much as the fandom does. But yeah, i think Mikasa was a little too harsh with Louise. Mikasa might not be a jeagerist and she personally hates Floch, but it seems she personally hates Louise too. Mainly because of the scarf? You guys made a valid point, we don’t know what Eren is thinking. In the past three seasons we always knew what he was thinking, either through the emotions he shows on his face or when we heard his thoughts. But THIS season… this season we hear nothing from Eren, and he shows zero emotion. The abrupt change makes Eren much scarier
I agree on the point that Sasha's dad is ethically the best person in the show
Mr. Braus words were so powerful that Nicolas felt completely weak in resolve in a matter of seconds. After death of your daughter, saying something like that takes great courage. I think this is the 2nd moment after her verbal disagreement with Kaya after which Gabi felt something was definitely off what she heard of Paradise.
This is the start of my favorite consecutive episodes, Children of the forest, Savagery, Sole salvation and Above and below. I love this episodes just like Declaration of war, Warhammer Titan and Assult.

My comment was about the damage grownups had done to their children in their madness, the pursuit of power, revenge, wrath, ignorance or selfishness. Taking away their innocence when they cannot comprehend the magnitude of their actions brings this kind of results.
