Armin, the calm, brains of the team kind of guy who all throughout the series has used his words, not violence, to overcome his problems is now using violence just in this instance is a little odd. He said he wanted to talk with Eren to convince him and try to understand his motivations, but he was the one who attacked first.
I remember Austin saying in the first season, that Eren's and Mikasa's relationship is one of the best things in the show.
Today I saw Austin visibly dying.

The moment Austin said that in the first season, i started cackling in my head sadistically thinking of when he reaches this episode :)))
Eren never really showed any positive emotions towards Mikasa. But I always thought it was something Eren will grow out of and he will realize what he means to Mikasa. But I didn’t expect this😅
One of the best things about AOT is that its overpowered character Levi has amazing thematic significance as well. He is super cool but he's not overpowered for the sake of being overpowered. Rather, Isayama uses the fact that he is overpowered to turn Levi into a tragic character who is fated to be the one who always seems to survive while his comrades die around him.
I like that viewpoint but I'm still kinda bothered that nothing gets him no matter what. It feels like he's the equivalent of one punch man in this show
too many plot armor on these show XD.. specially reiner..eren can kill him couple of times,porco too..isayama nerf levi couple of time to suit the storyline

It's vicious but also kind of brilliant the way Eren led the conversation. He knows he can't fight Mikasa physically, so he fights her with words. He also knows he can't fight Armin intellectually so he fights him with his bare hands.
I mean mikasa wouldnt even attack Eren as we seen and Eren knew Armin would have to much sympathy for the enemy to do what needs to be done
But he actually fought Armin intellectually and got into his head, Armin was the one who initiated the phyiscal fight, Eren got to his head when he mentioned Bert. Your argument is invalid.

This episode was as heartbreaking for Austin as S4E8 was for Shayne. Their post-watch breakdown was really great, and possibly the best discussion I've heard for this episode, especially about the characters.
Also, 100% agree with Austin...S1 E8 is a really underrated episode.

I just noticed, the face Levi puts at the end of the scene where he's surrounded by titans is the same he puts when he sees Petra's corpse after the fight with Annie. He really felt it

in which episode did the crystalized eren gate been breached through? i don't remember it being open.

@@loganshalloe5927 the Cristal is harder than regular hardening but of same kind of material. erens hardening is just same as the walls. the walls and erens hardening is seen being broken multiple times. the wall from the female titan climbing to the beast titan climbing. eren we can see that even John can brake it from the first time eren hardend under the church to get eren out of his titan.
Only Levi can carry on the legacy of Erwin and Kenny, as he inherits both of their soundtracks

I don't know if he'll claim all top 5 fights by himself since there are some other titan fights that are also wonderful. But one thing's for sure: you can't make an AOT fight scene list without Levi.

i love how they are like "this was my favourite scene of the show" to multiple moments. Just shows how good this show is
I just find baffling how many people believed Eren saying "I've always hated you" just because in the past he was sometimes annoyed with her for being overprotective. How does that translate to hate or ignoring all the times he cared for her and their deep bond/friendship we ve seen throughout the show. Literally 4 episodes ago the look he gave her at the end of that train sunset scene was the opposite of hate.

Eren is a hero at heart (ex. Pulling Armin out of the titan, fighting and serving at 14, being used as a weapon and experiment on his body Survey Corps, sparing Annie & Reiner’s life, willing to let Historia eat him to save humanity, protecting Historia’s rights from the military police, etc)

You are so right, some people just forget all he has been through, he has been used as a weapon by everyone being the tip of the spear, so it's not strange he became one rn. Also to add he remembers everyone he has lost, when he was about to get eaten by historia he said the names of ALL who died, even time has past, is the only one who still remembers his first squad, team 34, Thomas, Mina, etc and he says like because of him, everyone died. So Eren remembers everybody
After what he pulls in the manga I'd be hard pressed to call eren a "hero" at all anymore tbh. I can understand calling him that in the beginning, but by the end? That "hero" is long gone.
@@matiasguzman7635 I agree that people should definitely see this switch coming, but I feel like I never see anyone talk about the fact that Eren already killed plenty of civilians before this Marley arc. His final fight with annie literally took place in a highly populated city, and eren is shown clearly punching annie through buildings, as well as running through buildings on his own to get to her. They made it clear that he was still in full control at the time as well. He only lost control towards the end, but by that point he destroyed a good portion of the city, and the only comment we hear about it is a few offhand remarks from scouts (as well as the MP judging erwin). But nah that's all swept under the rug because the king isn't the true king....

And if people is now trying to be moralist it's because they don't think by themselves, they just thinking and expressing as the Creator wants and what is he showing, cuz if Mikasa doesn't say anything about Eren killing civilians or Armin don't even care about that or Eren doesn't turn in a cold dude and don't even show civilians dying, people won't even notice or won't even care. About the hero thing, it depends of the point of view, for you spectator not living the story u can't fully understand everybody why they doing what they doing and it's ok cuz we don't living the situation, some won't understand Eren, and I don't understand Mikasa and Armin going against him and It's ok. For Paradis Eren will be hero for the eternity, for the rest of the world ofc he will be the worst villian in history but at the end Eren is a mix of the consecuences of being subjected and enslaved by the world and being used as a weapon by his own people.

It's not an Ackerman problem. It's a Mikasa problem.
Ackermans are probably the most free-willed people in AOT world, since they have the physical advantage to (in a way) do whatever they want, and they're immune to the titan problem other Eldians are cursed with.

As a fan of the trio friendship, this chapter is so hard to read/watch. I couldn't believe Eren, you can't watch 2x12 and say that man doesn't love (and tho I do ship them, it doesn't even have to be in a romantic way) Mikasa, but I also thought about how the Ackermans were hunted by the royalty because they're the only ones who are not afected with the brainwashing, so I doesn't make any sense. And come on, Eren, you have 3 titans, if that about the manipulation were true, you are the least free. And Armin always have an interest for Annie.
Right i was thinking that too 😭 if Armin is part Bertoldt for sharing a crush on Annie, he's also part his father esp. with his want for Eldia's freedom now vs. when he had just learned about it from the books. He went from not willing to make big sacrifices on his and other lives for Eldia to doing all this for Eldia.

Isayama interview 2016 : They are all part of the same Ackerman bloodline. However, their reasons for protecting their respective counterparts don’t have anything to do with the bloodline itself - it’s just their nature (laughs). Within the story, Mikasa and Levi almost have the guardian/knight-like roles, right? That’s because they encountered the existence of a “boss”-like individual (T/N: Isayama interestingly uses the exact katakana “ボス” - “boss” here), and the desire to work for that person is very in line with their personalities.

And at the same time grisha wanted to restore the eldian empire. The founding titan cannot be unlocked without royal blood and even if it was, grisha was the previous user not freida so eren would get grisha's memories twice. We don't know that much about lara tybur but it's safe to say that she would oppose eren. The problem is that the memories don't come instantly so most likely he didn't get enough from her to make a difference
