@@kane1109 Oh, well now you know! His name was mentioned numerous times and he was always on Hange's side. I'm sure that if you watch Aot a second time some day, you'll notice him. It's pretty funny (but also sad), many didn't remember him, even though he was always there.
You probably already know this by now, but Bertholdt didn't remember anything for the first few seconds after he awoke. So when he saw Eren and the others he immediately smiled and said "guys". But then he started to remember and started to cry for Annie and Reiner who were his actual "only" friends. I don't want to spoil but next season they will elaborate on why Reiner and the others didn't have a choice but to fight Eren.
Goat episode. When u go back to the convo between pixis n erwin, erwin told his story. He said he asked his father a question in class, but in that flashback we the viewer never heard the question. When Erwin slapped his hand up and hallucinating we hear the question. "How do we know there aren't humans living outside the wall?" Also, we see how Erwin responded when Levi told him to give up on his dream and die. "Levi Thank you"
Hmm, partially. I think another part of Levi's decision was that Erwin was only focused on his burning desire to learn what was in the basement. That was his sole motive, and he was willing to throw everyone under the bus to discover the secrets it held. He did this under the guise of a charasimatic leader fighting for humanity, but that was a lie: it was to sate his own selfish curiosity. Essentially, Erwin was addicted to learning the truth ("Everyone's gotta be drunk on something," Kenny's words echoed back to Levi as he was making this decision) but that's as far as his motivation went. Levi even asked Erwin at the end of S3 Part 1 what Erwin would do when he learns the basement secrets and Erwin said "He wasn't sure." Meanwhile Armin's dream WAS for the betterment of humanity, not a selfish personal goal. His horizon reached much further than Erwin's (the ocean), so I think this was also a part of Levi's decision. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.
@@coco-e5s I think it was an entirely personal decision. Erwin was a slave to this desire to go down to the basement and prove his father's theory right, which is why he suffered and Levi knew it. Levi chose to let Erwin get rid of this curse of becoming the demon that sent all his soldiers straight to their deaths without hesitation in order to achieve this childhood disillusionment of his. in episode 16 where they talk, it becomes clear to Levi how Erwin blamed himself and lived haunted by the memory of all the comrades and the heart that each one of them gave. Erwin spoke in that conversation openly as a friend, not a commander, and Levi made that decision as a friend too.
Erwin would have been a better chance by far but I understand why Levi chose to let him rest. Armin is smart, but is in no way comparable to Erwin's leadership skills, his political maneuvering, or skills as an orator. R.I.P to Commander Erwin.
I think Berthold just woke up and forgot for a moment what was actually happening and maybe though he was still a scout and everything cause remember berthold truly considered them comrades
Something really sad which you might not of realised about his death is that for a split second, when he see's the guys (Eren, Mikasa, etc) he briefly believes that they are going to save him from the titan, which is why he smiles for a second. Then he realises what he's done and who he is, and starts screaming instead for Annie and Reiner. It's terribly sad and just shows that even he fell prey mentally to the same thing that Reiner did. i love it.

It literally broke my heart when all of them tried to kill him and just freaked out saying that he really sees them as his friends.. and I absolutely love him... and I loved him before I read the manga as well.. and even after I read it it's tragic for me
Erwin greatest commander ever, wish he saw the basement first. and bert...if you ask me he died to soon without closure. But nothing's glitter and rainbows in aot
I chose Armin this episode mainly because his plans were bigger and he was on a larger spectrum than Erwin. Like Kenny said, “everybody has to be drunk on something to keep moving on”, and Erwin was drunk on the basement. The basement is right there now, so now that Erwin seen what he want, the drive might be different now that he’s got it. Also, the scouts really only started accomplishing things now in these few months with Armin than a lot of years with Erwin. Erwin had the spirit and experience, yet Armin had the morality and smarts. It really is a tough choice.
Also, Erwin is more experienced yes, but Armin deadass has only been here for like 2 months😭as expected Erwin would be more experienced than a new soldier, but let Armin have some time and he’ll bypass all of that🤚🏽
Wait, it's not the basement that Erwin wanted, it's the truth that was hidden in the basement. Nowhere is Erwin's dreams smaller than Armin. And nowhere it is said that Erwin didn't have morality and smarts. In the female titan v/s Eren in stohess, original plan was to restrict annie in the underground to avoid losses. In the uprising arc, Erwin did a coup detat with minimal bloodshed. The only scouts dying were the ones with Levi. Scouts mortality was decreased significantly due to the scout formation made by Erwin. Yes, many developments happened during Armin's time, it is due to we got many insights about the titans, thanks to the basement truth and 2 titan shifters. And at the end, it's a story and young and main characters need to get the chances to come into limelight. And that's the main reason why Armin is alive and not Erwin since Armin is literally the deutorganist.
We all know that Erwin was the most logical and rational decision.(I'm not saying he was the right choice but...) Yes Armin has exceptional intelligence and has been proven useful for many occasions but Erwin is the literal backbone to the scouts. He's the one that inspires and he's also intelligent as well. Emotions aside who would you pick to lead humanity? A young individual who has exceptional intelligence but lacks: experience, authority over others, superiority, and connections to powerful government officials? Or would you pick the person who has all of those characteristics and then some? I'm glad Armin was chosen but I can't lie and say that Erwin wasn't the reasonable choice. But when it comes to chosing between two lives there is no right or wrong decision.
Yeah I agree I would have picked Erwin also , but i think when they showed Kenny flashback - "Everyone has to be drunk on something to keep pushing forward" , the author was trying to say erwin's goals were only to know the secret of the basement to prove his father's thoery and after that ,what?? I don't think Erwin would have been the same after knowing the truth , He would been no doubt the perfect person to save , keeping in mind what about to come , but I think that was the perfect moment for him do die at least he got a peaceful death . His whole life he kept his goals above everything his comrades, his pride , his right arm😂 , but when he was so close to his goal he choose what was his duty as comander as the hope of humanity. Discovering something as monumental as that only opens up so many more possibilities, things that were never even considered before. There’s no way he’d just give up after that. Tbh, I think there are 3 ways in which Levi made up his mind. 1) He wanted to let Erwin rest. Yes, but the conditions that both Erwin and Armin faced are different. The beast titan scene, where in front there is beast titan throwing rocks and at the back there is no exit. Even in that moment he found a way to defeat the beast titan. Not slandering Armin, but the conditions they faced are completely different. Even Erwin doesn't like to send soldiers to their deaths, but if needed, he would do that.

"The one who's gonna save humanity isn't me or the commander! it's armin!" I might be reading too much into things here but this could be foreshadowing something... Just gonna leave this comment here to look cool if it actually happens....
Erwin was the best choice for the Eldians there is no debate.. The difference between Armin and Erwin is that Armin almost always need extra information to develop his plans, while Erwin is a multi-level strategist.. Armin discovered Annie's identity because she was close to them, He discovered Reiner's location because he saw a flashback of a Titan inside the walls, Armin defeated the colossal titan thanks to Hange's hypothesis, he would never have defeated the colossal titan if it were not for that hypothesis. Now look at Erwin what he accomplished with his strategies, he created the long distance scouting formation to survive in fights with the titans(Basically the formation was a big giant human radar) and that dropped the scouts death percentage 70% , He captured the female titan and almost took it out with the explosives if it wasn't for Levi intimidating Annie and because of that she called the other titans, saved Eren from Berthold and Reiner (he lured the titans to stop the Armored titan), saved the scouts from being killed by the miltary police when they were in the forrest(Erwin anticipated the military police movements), Thanks to his investigations he discovered who was the royal family and the true king of the walls, discovered the location of Eren and Historia, planned a coup d'etat and overthrew the government to recover the wall Maria and all this he did without spilling a drop of innocent blood , created a plan to kill Rod Reiss in the form of Titan, he discovered Zeke's plan to kill the horses so he created a counterattack to kill the Armored titan, using Eren as bait for the scouts to kill him with the lightning spears and he created a plan to kill the Beast Titan who is the most dangerous and intelligent Titan in the entire series. Are you telling me that it was all because of Armin? Armin is very brilliant as a micro strategist but not as a macro strategist, what the Eldians needed was a Leader with Intelligence, Strategy, Character, Ability to Motivate, Experience and Ability to determine goals and objectives. In the manga the Scouts have become more useless than ever because they do not have a Leader and Armin has done absolutely nothing just cry, it was better that he died this season and not ruin his character, it is the only mistake Hajime Isayama has made for give Eren a more leading role(and also because he fell in love with his trio), the positive of this? Well, it gave an unexpected twist to the series.
Well i m going to rip the idea that armin make the plan to beat the colossal , it was hangi but her group was annihilate so armin take the lead without knowing that the plan could work but he see she was right and say ( hangi san was right he losing flesh over time ) so he readapt the plan to fix the number of soldier at 2 ( eren and him )
I would bring Erwin back, he's smart, he's experienced and he's a symbol. He himself realized that Armin was smart and started to put decisions in his hand, he was a true leader. Armin for example hesitated in the fight against the Colossal, it was not easy to find a solution but Erwin would never hesitate or show it.
Maybe it's just me. But I think Levi saw relief in Erwin's eyes when Levi made the decision for him to die right then and there. Like maybe Levi does realize how emotionally taxing it all has been for Erwin all these years - knowingly sending hundreds or maybe thousands of people to their deaths. I also think Erwin was the better choice in terms of the future. But I think at the end, Levi did end up letting his emotions cloud his judgement. Erwin was also his friend not just his commander. And ultimately, I feel that was a fitting closure. You're not wrong though. This is just how I interpreted those scenes.
So basically Levi remembered that kenny said everyone is a slave to something to move forward. Erwin's was basement(he said he wont know what he would do after that) and Armin's was sea (outside world ) . If they chose Erwin and he saw his dream(basement) then he might have shut down with no drive to move forward while Armin's was the world which is a much bigger dream . Thats why Levi chose Armin and let Erwin rest.
What is interesting about SnK is that the character's behavior policy has not changed. In the long series, the writer changes the character's beliefs in order to make the story more exciting. As a result, the viewer's feelings for the character change between the first half and the second half. When Levi first appeared, he promised to "kill the giant" when his companion died. And now I promised Elvin that "I will kill the beast giant." It's a curse for Levi. Elvin asked Ellen, "What do you think the enemy is?" The action was based on memories with his father, it was a curse. And he died while seeking the identity of the enemy. Levi keeps choosing. I think one of SnK's messages is "to live is to choose." If the "discussion" had taken place, as Marco said, the path might have changed. However, ISAYAMA forces viewers to make sadistic choices. I hope you guys enjoy SnK to the end.
Idc what u tell me, Erwin was the right choice. But I really like armin too so I’m not mad or sad that they picked him. But Erwin was the right cchoice
that boy on the left: aRmIn aLl dAy. It should have been Erwin the reason Levi did not choose Erwin is because he did not want him to suffer, and as he said he wants him to rest. Bro, the guy on the left ain’t stupid at all. He chose Armin based on his own perceptions. There’s nothing wrong with that and not everyone has to pick Erwin because of what you said. It doesn’t make the guy stupid, he’s smart.

"The one who's gonna save humanity isn't me or the commander! it's armin!" I might be reading too much into things here but this could be foreshadowing something... Just gonna leave this comment here to look cool if it actually happens....
Hange and Levi are the only veterans from the survey corps left now :////
Erwin was the best choice for the Eldians there is no debate..
Good luck explaining to your friends episode number 20.
Caiu caminhão de areia no meu olho.
ERWIN 😞😢💔
Beast showing remorse, this dude gets it.
Me gustan sus reacciones!
Greetings from Mexico
Im amazed of how nobody of you cried
Well i m going to rip the idea that armin make the plan to beat the colossal , it was hangi but her group was annihilate so armin take the lead without knowing that the plan could work but he see she was right and say ( hangi san was right he losing flesh over time ) so he readapt the plan to fix the number of soldier at 2 ( eren and him )
Nice reaction . Cant wait next ep
I choose Erwin.
THANKS GODDDD
@@SenseofNoneYT I agree with you
What is the song in your intro? I recognize it and it's killing me!
It's, The Mind Sweepers - Rancid Life - Laid Back
Haha. Wait until you watch season 4. All your questions will be answered 😉
Thats why Levi chose Armin and let Erwin rest.
i honestly wished jean kept his mouth shut💀
erwin especially after seeing what happens in the manga
Lmao with erwin be collosal titan, marley stand no chances against someone who can discard humanity & be the devil
Armin being younger doesn't mean anything
have trailer next epsode
“We couldn’t choose”
Guy on the left: Armin all day bruh
P.s it should have been Erwin
What is interesting about SnK is that the character's behavior policy has not changed.
In the long series, the writer changes the character's beliefs in order to make the story more exciting.
As a result, the viewer's feelings for the character change between the first half and the second half.
When Levi first appeared, he promised to "kill the giant" when his companion died.
And now I promised Elvin that "I will kill the beast giant."
It's a curse for Levi.
Elvin asked Ellen, "What do you think the enemy is?"
The action was based on memories with his father, it was a curse.
And he died while seeking the identity of the enemy.
Levi keeps choosing.
I think one of SnK's messages is "to live is to choose."
If the "discussion" had taken place, as Marco said, the path might have changed.
However, ISAYAMA forces viewers to make sadistic choices.
I hope you guys enjoy SnK to the end.

Aaah the serumbowl. Could have be a fantastic eps if not for the fanboys who claim they know better than Hajime Isayama
Idc what u tell me, Erwin was the right choice. But I really like armin too so I’m not mad or sad that they picked him. But Erwin was the right cchoice
Boruto!!!!!!!! 😭
eren 1.85 mts
levi :1.60 mts
who win :v
that boy on the left: aRmIn aLl dAy.
It should have been Erwin the reason Levi did not choose Erwin is because he did not want him to suffer, and as he said he wants him to rest. (Because of personal feelings he feels towards him not because armin is a better option). Not to put armin down or disregard what he can do. Just stupid people piss me off.
Bro, the guy on the left ain’t stupid at all. He chose Armin based on his own perceptions. There’s nothing wrong with that and not everyone has to pick Erwin because of what you said. It doesn’t make the guy stupid, he’s smart.
Hell, I picked Erwin when I saw the scene. It doesn’t have anything to do with being smart or not. Both choices were solid when compared to everyone else, the situation was just shitty for everyone at that moment.
@@davecraig9675 He is. Armin all day is a stupid thing to say the way he said it. He did not try to think. I don't say anyone has to pick whomever. He just pissed me off. And yes good one you are right it was shitty for everyone, except that idiot apparently.
@@davecraig9675 Sorry for the language by the way it is not meant at you..
@@mohammadalmarhoun5308 I understand your feelings, but I’ve seen their reactions on previous episodes. The guy on the left is pretty intuitive and he understands the scenes of the show! He said exactly what Eren brings up to Levi about Armin before that scene happened. He doesn’t need to think because he already did so like who the hell doesn’t like Erwin. Everyone I’ve seen who watched the show likes him a lot. This guy knows his stuff and pretty quick on the uptake. Erwin is still the logical pick but thematically it was Armin.
