I love the restaurant scene with Nicolo, Gabi and Sasha's family so much, it's such an impactful scene! Nicolo loving her so much that he'd hurt Marleyan warriors to avenge her, but Sasha's dad being awesome as always and forgiving Gabi... Then Kaya - the one who's known they're from Marley from the beginning and still took them in, still helped them, covered for them, always showed kindness to them - tries murdering Gabi. Everyone is feeling so many emotions in that scene, I think this is where we feel the weight of Sasha's death the most, it always makes me cry because I can kind of understand all sides. War is just a really shitty fucked up thing that messes everyone up.
This episodes message might be the answer to all of current world problems. Or perhaps a good start to solving them. The education systems all over the world hold so much power.
Exactly. Kids are the future. But if parents instill on them hate, then hate is what those kids will teach their kids and so on goes the never ending chain of hatred. I remember this quote from HBO’s Succession. “They fuck you up, your mom and dad. They do not mean to, but they do. They fill you up with faults they had. And some extras just for you.” We should have parent school. How to raise a kid. But instead we have money for other less important stuff. Sad state of affairs.
people seem to forgot that Floch was the only survivor from the suicide charge. you can't imagine how much it changed him. and he heard Erwin speech. "we die trusting our live meaning to the living". and he survived. the only person live. Floch isn't a villain. He's a broken character, he broke the moment he finds out his reason being alive. He's a representation of willing to sacrifice anything. just like Erwin. He's the true successor of Erwin, but with lack of understanding of how things going on. He misinterpreated Erwin
the thing with sasha's death and it being part of gabis arc is just beautiful, idk if any other character couldve had it work as well. you have sasha's parents who you would think should be devastated that the person they were caring for killed their daughter. they should hate her, they should in some way want her dead. but these kind people who looked after her and ben when they had nowhere to go, who shouldve stabbed her where she sat since they are just island devils, took away the knife and looked after falco after he had been let go, continued to worry for gabi even after hearing the truth. the heartbreak in gabi's eyes when the people she hated, the parents of the island devil she shot in cold blood, they showed her compassion when she felt she deserved condemnation. and then kaya, who knew from the beginning who they were, who invited them home, who protected them even when gabi tried to kill her, she suddenly snaps at gabi, wanting to wish her dead. to see the people who should hate her show her compassion and to see the one who showed them compassion hate her, it showed gabi just how wrong she was.
Niccolo may be conflicted, but what he said about them being filthy Eldians etc. was no more than a cover-up imo. I doubt they reflected his thoughts at all - he just had really good acting skills.

Still got a pretty annoying personality to boot, though. Eren actually has empathy for those he plans to kill, Floch couldn't seem to care less. Interesting, definitely, but not remotely likeable. I don't get how people hate Gabi more than him. Gabi was a brainwashed kid that took a little too long to realise that war isn't so simple. Floch's a borderline psycho.

King Floch is a meme you guys cant understand yet. Even until now floch's character changed a lot from the scared boy (before the suicide charge) to the right hand of eren and a strong leader figure for the Jaegerist group who is ready to do anything to save the eldia empire. Imo he is the most interesting character that isn't in the main group.
I personally like Floch as a villain. From around this episode on he steals every scene that he's in, and adds a lot of entertainment to the show IMO. His actions and motives are also understandable when you consider his past, even if the end results (supporting global genocide) are not exactly moral
Definitely one of the best episodes of the season. Any time they just sit and talk, expose the opposing ideals and listen to each other, it gives such great dialogue and tension. Prepare for the rest of season 4 to be filled with gut punches tho... it's a wild ride. Floch is liked by some indeed, personally I don't understand it as he's basically just an asshole to just about anyone, but eh, people can like what they like ^^
The point is that there is no right or wrong. If you're on the Island a lot of the ppl there will be on Eren's side because who wants to let others kill them? If you're not on the Island or if you're not Eldian you see the Island ppl as a threat or as "devils" because they have the potential power to kill everyone. It's all about POV, it's not black and white or Good and Bad. It depends on your situation. Believe me both sides are understandable and that's why this story is a masterpiece. I understand why Eren thinks this is the only solution but then again it's not fair to Onyakonpon and other innocent ppl. This whole situation is messed up no matter how you look at it. Floch is letting power go to his head and he's an ass so that's why i hate him. Lol sorry for the rant.
To answer your question, Floch is quite an interesting character. Sure, he is an asshole... But you'll see that there is more to it. Like you said, it's a great "villain", even if the word is a complicated one in a not-so manichean world like SnK.

@@LoneWolf-xq4bs I'm a big Floch fan, he's probably my third favourite character after Reiner and Eren. I agree that the morality of AOT is very grey, with no clear right or wrong. But while watching the show it seemed clear to me that Floch was framed in a way for him to be seen as a villain. It started already back in season 3 when he argued back to the main characters, which was enough to get a lot of fans to hate him already. Sadly when someone is purposely framed in that way, most fans will dislike or even hate them.

In a world where everyone is flip flopping on ideals and philosophies, Floch has kept it simple...Pick a side and stick with it ALL THE WAY. Imagine a football team that stops every 10mins to debate strategy. Its not gonna work. Just pick a captain and go with his plan. Even if its a bad plan, the results will be better if everyone is united. This embodies what the military and soldiers are supposed to be. The goal from day 1 was to defeat Marley. The fact that they've found out that there's nuances and new complications isn't the soldier's job to deal with.
If the 'whole point of the story' is 'getting out of the forest' then I reject that point and substitute my own point; that's idealism at it's finest, and dangerous bullshit with the human tendency to confirmation bias.
"Why do people like this guy?" I asked the same question. lol I even got into debate about Floch couple times. Then I just got tired and stopped the arguments. I couldn't change their mind so I decided to just let it go.
If you take it into consideration floch is as similar as an loyal soldier to his nation and only want it's freedom knowing that the whole world wants the end of eldia and as showing true loyalty he's willing to do anything to make sure eldia will live
12:03 "Why do people like this guy?" Because Floch speaks nothing but truth since the funeral of their comrades after the Battle of Shiganshina, and guess what? He's the successor of Erwin, not Armin nor Hange. You'll see why everyone like and dislike him at the same time later
Floch stans are the most bizarre product of Isayama's story. I can't understand how a group of people can misunderstand his story and the message he was trying to send so much
Why do I like Froch? Because from the perspective of the islanders, he is a hero dedicated to his country. The enemy has changed from giant to human, but nothing has changed. Don't judge by the common sense of our time It is not difficult to think from the perspective of an islander. Nothing has changed since season one.
Still an asshole, no matter what spin you put on it. His god-awful personality just so happens to really suit this sort of thing, since all it takes is to believe undoubtedly that you are in the right to get things done.
I personally like Floch as a true patriot who can see the world as it is. You'd either do anything to protect your country and people, or the very same enemy who made your lifes a living hell for decades will genocide you.
Hey pal I think a majority of the haters of floch are just like that cause he was introduced as a wimpy character in s3 and suddenly became so much confident and had so much power in s4... If floch was introduced with the group way back in s1 and eventually turned out like this I very much believe most of the guys that hate him wouldn't 😄
They will understand his character more and he is a great character but unfortunately he is not a good person. Understanding a character doesn't mean liking it. He is just an asshole as a character but entertaining tho.

And some extras just for you.”
We should have parent school.
I’m kind of offended Hange thought for second that Mr. Braus would actually hurt Gabi!
I mean, she doesn't know him very much.
@@V_i_vi_an That’s true.
I know exactly what you mean lol
Floch is a well written character we like him cause of future events he'll do that show his loyalty
One of the most brutal episode ... and one of the best.
Fantastic reaction!
Tears with a beautiful heart
One of the perfect example of AOT is very well written
I was away for a while and i was burning with ANTICIPITATION for this episode!
Niccolo may be conflicted, but what he said about them being filthy Eldians etc. was no more than a cover-up imo. I doubt they reflected his thoughts at all - he just had really good acting skills.
Exactly. You see it in gaming or even our most course speaking friend, they will go straight to a racial slur or insensitive /non-politically correct statement in a heated exchange or intense moment... and you know that is not them or their true thoughs about another race or gender or any low hanging fruit to disparge. I don't totally agree with the statement that there's a little truth in every statement that's meant to be a joke. It's not absolute,
@@CuddleBuddee This isn't quite what I meant with Niccolo, but yes, I do agree.
buena reaccion
Oh this episode 😭
Never in my year could i have imagined putting an arm up would be so threatening 🤌🤣
Sasha's dad is everyone's dad.

21:57 That's why Jedi's in training don't come with deep connections or loved ones, otherwise they become like Darth Vader.
This was probably my favourite episode of this season.
今回も楽しかったです!
ありがとうございます!
I can't imagine how you 2 reacted to the next episode called Savagery since you guys are very emotional. People like Floch because he will do anything to protect his people on the island and love or hate it he is one of the most interesting characters in the final season.
So turning most of his comrades into mindless titans justifies his actions?? Wow how hypocritical of floch stans
@@gayanegasparyan4137 ahhh no he and eren both knew about that, both of them had to keep that on the low so zeke and Yelena would feel like they incharge, did u forget when eren said "wait" when zeke was about to scream? u have to understand that floch right now is the second in command to eren, eren does not communicate with anyone but floch, floch speaks and does the dirty work for him, floch cannot show no weakness or empathy for anyone, even his soldiers, he's playing the role of the "devil"
his shocked face when eren told him his plan is evidenced, floch cares but he cannot show.
@@gayanegasparyan4137 What Comrades? The Military brass was going to Kill/feed Eren to someone to take the Titan away. The World is coming to kill everyone Eren is their only hope. So you would allow Eren to die and basically kill off everyone on the island
@@fahrenheit2101 The war is pretty much simple. The world is coming to kill everyone on the island. No talking will help. The Miltary brass wanted to kill the Island only hope which is Eren so people did what they thought was best to save the island.
Don't forget what Floch went through.
@@LoneWolf-xq4bs mid-tier villain at best, imo
floch is a great character.
love your reaction!🥰
I love you both! ♥️
Bangers only area has been entered
"why people love this guy" cause is a really fun character like Cersei Lanister, homelander, omniman, etc... really scary/asshole characters but they brig a lot of dinamyc, is a must in every history and my boy Floch here is a really good point of view for a normal people in a SNK setup, just go and see tweeter, there we have a lot of people like him
King Floch is a meme you guys cant understand yet.
Even until now floch's character changed a lot from the scared boy (before the suicide charge) to the right hand of eren and a strong leader figure for the Jaegerist group who is ready to do anything to save the eldia empire.
Imo he is the most interesting character that isn't in the main group.
I agree
I personally like Floch as a villain. From around this episode on he steals every scene that he's in, and adds a lot of entertainment to the show IMO. His actions and motives are also understandable when you consider his past, even if the end results (supporting global genocide) are not exactly moral
Definitely one of the best episodes of the season. Any time they just sit and talk, expose the opposing ideals and listen to each other, it gives such great dialogue and tension.
Prepare for the rest of season 4 to be filled with gut punches tho... it's a wild ride.
Floch is liked by some indeed, personally I don't understand it as he's basically just an asshole to just about anyone, but eh, people can like what they like ^^
Love your reaction 😍💕
From this point onwards, sht starts to go down hehe be ready!
I get why people like Floch. They would also do whatever it took to save their people. His actions aren't completely unreasonable.
the forest.... sigh
8:61 Your wife have the same look hair style that Kaya :)
So good to see common sense!
Well, the one who like flok...frog or flock or whatever his name is, are the yeagerists
That is exactly what we're saying 👍🏻
I want to be a person like Sasha's father.
Just like Kaya wants to be like Sasha.
well i dont support what Floch did, but i did like his character story a lot.

Now begins the era of God King Floch 👑
Clear
12:02
Because he's a good character.
"Why do people OBSESSED with this guy?" would be a better question.
Seriously, Floch simps are so annoying.
Yeah, he's my second favorite character in the show after Eren but I don't wish him to live long nor see him succeed in his cause.
Exactly Floch simps are usually teens
Yeah I can admit that he's good written character, but I hate he's fans that are spaming "King Floch" everywhere

S4 is Painnn !!
Floch is unintentionally hilarious. He's always either being goofy, a coward, or completely evil with nothing inbetween.
This is my favorite episode of this part of the season and the scene in the restaurant is one of my favorites in the show. Sadly a lot of people like Floch not as a villain but because they agree with him. I think they just missed the whole point of the story. Others like him as a representation of another point of view. Good character or not, I just hate him.

Sasha coudn't say her last word... Nicolo (Niku, japanese for meat is a misunderstanding)
It is not a misunderstanding, the Nicolo theory doesn't make sense.
The japanese manga has the kanji for "meat", it can't be read differently.
"Why do people like this guy?"
I asked the same question. lol I even got into debate about Floch couple times. Then I just got tired and stopped the arguments. I couldn't change their mind so I decided to just let it go.
Actually, Floch is kind of right on some things, just watch carefully, he is a consistent character. That is why people like him.
If you take it into consideration floch is as similar as an loyal soldier to his nation and only want it's freedom knowing that the whole world wants the end of eldia and as showing true loyalty he's willing to do anything to make sure eldia will live
Flocke is a goated character, no hypocrite like some others
12:03 "Why do people like this guy?"
Because Floch speaks nothing but truth since the funeral of their comrades after the Battle of Shiganshina, and guess what? He's the successor of Erwin, not Armin nor Hange. You'll see why everyone like and dislike him at the same time later
We Stan floch cause his development is so insanely good and he needs up becoming the most consistent character in the story later on
The only consistent*
Except Sasha and those who die off before s4
He has possibility to become someone like king fritz if he were alived because his ideals are radical and somewhat leans to dictatorship.
Floch stans are the most bizarre product of Isayama's story. I can't understand how a group of people can misunderstand his story and the message he was trying to send so much

Hail King Floch, not as a villian but as a hero to his people, the Eldians in Paradis, Rise King
Why do I like Froch?
Because from the perspective of the islanders, he is a hero dedicated to his country.
The enemy has changed from giant to human, but nothing has changed.
Don't judge by the common sense of our time
It is not difficult to think from the perspective of an islander.
Nothing has changed since season one.
Still an asshole, no matter what spin you put on it. His god-awful personality just so happens to really suit this sort of thing, since all it takes is to believe undoubtedly that you are in the right to get things done.
King Floch! o7
Anticipate
I personally like Floch as a true patriot who can see the world as it is. You'd either do anything to protect your country and people, or the very same enemy who made your lifes a living hell for decades will genocide you.
He's a fascist
Floch makes me so angry, I never like characters like him in any media, they’re just so hard to listen to without making me mad lol

@@LoneWolf-xq4bs yeah I know that but most of these people feel bad about what they did like Reiner, Bertolt, Annie or Magath but Floch not

yeah, Floch is the worst
Is this not the best show you've ever seen?
"why do people like this guy" ah maybe coz we have for 3 whole seasons seen the atrocities committed against his race? maybe for a whole hundred years they have been caged like animals, have been eaten alive and children charging into hell so their families might live...
you don't have to like him, but I and many others who don't have a moral high ground like the people of the "internet" can relate to him coz we have literally been by his side, watching and experiencing his struggles. i relate to floch more than anyone else in this story, Because I know if I were in that situation I'd be exactly like that. when in that situation and faced with ur race getting genocided, my morals go out the window!
yea that seems like a warning point of the show. when your existence is threatened its too easy to throw your morals away and justify even worse atrocities.
@@pooty195 exactly!!! It's easy for us to sit in the comfort of our homes and judge these fictional characters but in reality Nazis did exist and America dropped 2 nukes on Japan!
