We all know about manga readers, but here in this video, I'm here to talk about the different types of manga readers, as they vary in personality. Manga only, just because I don't have much time to spend on manga/anime and for me, reading manga is way faster than watching anime
I mostly just read manga when I've caught up with the anime and want more content. Like with One Piece, hunter x hunter, One Punch Man, and a few others.
Or if it's more of relaxing story, I might read the manga as well. It's just easier to pick up and put down than a 20 minute episode.

mostly anime unless its sum like One Piece (although I quit that all together pretty much). I had been anime only all the way up to whole cake island but then I heard that was 100+ episodes so I switched to the manga.
As a newer manga reader hopefully I’ll never turn to the dark side 🙏🏽

Been reading manga for years and I love it because of the medium. You get to really appreciate the art style and read each panel (also much faster to read a chapter than watch an episode).
I hate it when people spoil though.

@@olamasama9243 Ngl I get confused during fights either way, but manga readers have it worse most of the time with all the visual clutter if it's late in the series or smth and the composition is like 80% VFX

I do both, but it depends on the series. If I really enjoyed something and the manga is ahead, I'll go with the manga, but other times, I'll stick with the anime. For example, Fullmetal Alchemist is a series that I only saw the anime for, whereas Berserk, I've only read the manga (which is definitely better both from an art perspective and you get the full picture of the story and what's currently going on). I read the manga for the Big 3 except for Naruto only because I'm not a fan of the high quantity of filler( sure there's finding lists that take out episodes, but I guess it's a preference)
Yea I feel like reading the manga is lowkey necessary for Berserk. I saw the 3D animation and it was outrageously poor at times. I also only saw FMAB anime, but from what I've seen it's fairly manga accurate

AS LONG AS THEY DON’T SPOIL… manga readers are important. They help build hype before and anime season/series is out.
JJK season 2 is a good example of this. I’m 1000% sure people would not even be able to understand that Shibuya arc was goat without manga readers.
Yeah but alot of manga readers like to degrade and belittle anime only's for no reason. Its like The sub vs dub beef, dub fellas be beefing with nobody and em subs be attacking us for no reason 😂

My guess is the investment. Reading a manga that got popular enough for an anime is like donating to a kickstarter of a game/movie that became very successful. You just feel better because you were there when nobody else was.
As someone who started JJK this year, I have no idea what you're saying.
I consume both. I just like the stories they portray and sometimes the manga and anime portray it in different ways.
It doesn't matter how 'great' a manga/anime is, or how 'well written' it is, all that matters is that it's enjoyable, interesting, and a fun read. If you like the anime, manga, or even the live action I won't hate you. The only people I hate are people who call everything else that they don't like trash.
I'm a Peaceful Manga reader. I read them because I love the anime and want to know what happens next. Reading the manga relieves my impatience LoL
The worst type of manga readers are youtubers who PUT SPOILERS IN THE VIDEO PREVIEW, YOU ARE DEMONS. It goes like this: "*The CHARACTER * DID WHAT?!" and A FULL-SCREEN 4K ULTRA HD PREVIEW WITH HIS DEAD BODY. I HATE YOUUU!
Bro, I used to always get spoiled like that. I had to make sure to not recommend those channels cause they just spoil it in the title before you can react
For me I kind of have to read the manga because my situation is always either A: It's Hunter X Hunter and there is no way I am getting arcs like the Succession Contest in anime form for the next ten years at the very *least.* Or B: It's a really good story like Kaiju no. 8, Dandadan, or Kagurabachi but it won't get an anime adaptation for years if it ever does at all.
(Yes I know Kaiju no. 8 and Dandadan are getting their respective anime adaptations in spring and fall 2024, but I've been reading them long before we readers could even dream of seeing them animated.)

As someone who is caught up to the manga. I think that the tone makes sense for an adaptation. The CSM world is supposed to be depressing, with mentally unfit characters.
Anime was SO much better then the manga, no cap.
I read the whole manga, both parts, and thats one of the most boring, overrated pieces of garbage i've seen.

I usually watch the anime then read the manga but sometimes I make an exception and read the manga first if I get impatient when the next episode of the anime takes too long to come out or when my anticipation level is too high

If you're talking about the spoiler rate of each series, swap JJK and One Piece then you'd be correct.
there are a few cases whereas the manga dwarfs the anime by a long shot like god of highschool which is amazing but the anime glazed over the first arc with only three episodes

im manga but not only because being spoiler proof is pretty neat ngl, and if i really enjoy a fight or a certain scene all i have to do is wait a couple month/a year to watch it animated so you really get the best of both world as a reader ngl
EDIT: i also think it's nice to see the author's direct drawing and as a one piece fan i do hate the anime's pacing so the manga is the way to go imo
Both forms of media, I typically read ahead for series I like, and I definitely read series if they have a completely different ending from the anime, such as Soul Eater or Akame Ga Kill, mostly because those endings are better because they are the original vision fully realized

I can't lie... there are some series I can't stand the manga for, but I love the anime.
The reverse is also true. I have a similar thing for dubs and subs.
Then, we have some series that only give you 12 episode run, and you have to search for the manga to see what happens after the anime ended.
Only for the rest of the series to be ass... or on hiatus.
I’ve been reading manga for years now and I always tell people to read of they want to, but it’ll spoil the anime if that they prefer to watch more of, for me I love diving deep into the lore of a lot of these stories, a great example is berserk or one piece, to different styles of manga but both having deep and expansive lore, especially one piece. However it’s not everyone’s cup of tea and that’s okay, not everything is for everyone and that includes manga or anime. Hope everyone enjoys what they love cause at the end of the day, that’s what we all want to do

I only read manga if I don’t feel like waiting for new episodes for anime or if I’m sick and tired of spoilers (jjk)
I read the Light Novel.
I'm a manga reader. But at least I know that the anime usually looks much better than the manga.
Both. I usually start with the anime get caught up then get impatient so I start the manga, get caught up, get impatient and read the light novels 😔. Or i start with the manga and hunt down specific anime episodes so i see my favorite scenes animated. This is especially true to sports manga
Personally the only reason i read the small amount of manga that i have is that i simply couldn’t wait for more seasons of DR Stone and even then i still watch the anime (even though it took them somthing like 3 years to finish what was a minor arc in the manga)

I do both. but i dont always watch the anime episode the day its aired. so if i have someone spoiling me the anime's latest episode, i'll threaten them with my manga.
or if someone were to be bullying someone else with anime spoilers, i'd come to the rescue to make a manga spoiler to that bully. think of me as a hero.
but i do sometimes talk about what the next episode would be. i wouldnt spoil, but i'd just hype it up saying "dude, that's the most fire episode of this season. dont miss it."
I mainly recommend the manga if the anime was trash or if a person keeps asking for more content but the anime aint coming back (all the more so if the manga is complete).

I do both ONLY because I don't want to be spoiled. I always have to focus on the goal more than the process, which is why I'd rewatch a series when both the manga and anime finish. I want to be an anime-only while being able to use social media, I don't want to become a caveman and go through extreme digital self-isolation.

The only time I read a manga is if the anime is terribly paced, or the anime has been discontinued. Take Hunter Hunter for example, yes, it does have those paragraphs on each page which is pretty bad, but the anime isn’t coming back for God knows how long… They need to start working on that for real

I like both but it really depends on the series. I started watching OPM and got bored waiting years for the anime and bought all the books. The manga quality in OPM is literally art but when people complain about the anime "looking bad" I get confused because I think it's top tier animation. Or Baki on the other hand seems like it was meant to be an anime because of the cartoony animation and perfect voice acting but you'll still find manga elitists even with Baki! People just want everyone's opinions to align with their own at the end of the day.
I am also the peaceful type.

thank god i decided to read the mangs of one piece and saw gear fifth live man haha XD ya i love one piece not jsut cause of the pacing spesifically its another form of medium for one piece and the original version at that XD the arts incredible and its nice i like reading manga also the pacing is hevanly XD the animes pacing isnt that bad but the mangas better lol. also you can read what happens after the anime so ya XD.

When I watched these two, I think reading the manga only is acceptable
Even if you miss out on animation, music, fights and emotion, I ain’t watching Goku and Frieza stare at each other for like an hour
Also with Bleach, I read the TYBW to the end
And the fight scenes, I couldn’t tell what was happening when they fought, like I’m pretty sure this is a Bleach only problem because I read DBZ and the fights were clean or maybe it’s just difficult and Toriyama was just really good at it

And that's exactly what happened. It didn't help that it was a fantasy world with magic. The revival was super to be a plot twist

Man, bro needs color and music in order to enjoy something or feel emotion. Comics is an awesome medium, and I won’t accept slander. But yeah manga readers can be annoying, but I find anime watchers to be just as annoying sometimes with how they shit on other mediums.

If it kept adapting the series consistently, the OPM anime would eventually reach a point where it would take even longer to release a new season. But I'm not sure what's going on with season 3.

There's anime where i can say that the manga is better
For example
Blue lock manga os just better
Anime was good but after a few episodes you can kinda notice how the animation little by little gets worse to the point we are just looking at images slowly moving around and then random cgi scenes
Manga has good consistent art even from the start
With breathtaking manga panels
Which is why i would tell ppl to read manga instead
Another anime like this tokyo ghoul but that one is self explanatory
And also unfinished anime and things like that

I typically prefer manga, and while definitely not a purist... tokyo ghoul and berserk got done dirty in the animes.
I only read the manga instead of anime because I have no way to watch the anime and I just prefer making up the colours and voices of the anime has bad voices for my favourite characters
I got spoiled on ALL the Hashira deaths throughout the ENTIRE series of Demon Slayer just because some purist sh*tbags in a discord server couldn't bear to see someone enjoying the anime
My guy forgot the worst kind of Manga readers, those that put spoilers in thumbnails. But I decided to accept it and move on anime isn't that enjoyable anymore because popularities and spoilers of plot through thumbnails. So I decided to not join them but transcend them, I know listen to audiobooks which tend to be better plot wise and most importantly no spoilers.
Peaceful Manga reader here. We don't like the other types. You did forget one type of manga reader: The Collector.
The ones who read the first chapter of a manga and then buy the series, read it once and then throw it in a box in a closet so they have more space for more manga.
I read manga sometimes but the bleach manga is better than the anime but i still like the anime
I read manga but not shonen or any action fighting anime it just so boring to see a picture or frame of fighting it bores me so i don't read shonen manga
