I love dry humor so much, so I IMMEDIATELY fell in love with Saiki K. Also, Jerry Jewell’s line delivery as Saiki is PERFECT. He’s the main reason why Saiki K is my fave dub.
The last dry comedy anime I watched was Life Lessons with Uramichi San and it was pretty good. Definitely more appreciated if you're already an adult going through the grind.
Saiki K is one of the shows that I can rewatch over and over and still laugh at the same jokes everytime, so many times when I was watching it at 3AM and almost got yelled at because I was laughing lmfaoo
S:"Please let my new year's day be quiet and peaceful.. Time to go home" K:"HEY SAIKI!" S: "See? There is no god." This interaction lives rent free in my head lmao
Fun fact: the reason the ghost stories dub is like that is because no one in western countries found any shit in that show scary (even though asians do) so they decided to make it a dark humor show instead which succeeded kinda
The English dub was given full liberty to do whatever they want with the voice acting as long as it worked with the story. Why? The original japanese did so ASS so they just gave up on a script 💀
Be for real💀 Idk how asians find that shit scary at all. I grew up on Ju-on, Ringu, Tale of two Sisters and Audition and as far as ik all my fellow asians did too. This is the type of stuff only 7yo’s find scary.
@@megumintobuna-4537 I mean it was meant for younger (asian) kids (like 11 to 12 or below). The problem occured when not even 6 year old western kids found it scary
"Being known as the most funniest fan-service anime, is like being known as the best wheelchair basketball player." Holy shit. This quote alone made me subscribe, while also laughing my ass off
@@mastertjt56 I mean the show was fine in the beginning but it fell off so hard. It's like mostly filler at this point in the anime. Can't expect any difference considering how old that show is. The best thing that show could do for itself is just start wrapping itself up instead of infinitely extending it for eternity.
I love Gintama! It's my kind of comedy-like tons of ridiculous characters, they get into ridiculous situations and they handle it in ridiculous ways. I love the 4th wall-breaking and the parodies. Even the villains sometimes suddenly join in the absurdity like wtf?! but when they get serious, the action gets surprisingly intense and well-animated and the dramatic scenes are actually touching. I find Shinpachi quite annoying too but he's tolerable. I like it best when stoic- or serious-looking characters break or are put under ridiculous situations. Almost every episode of Gintama leaves me breathless in laughter but there is one arc i remember quite fondly because it was the one time my parents (who don't get anime) got intrigued, sat down to watch it with me and actually laughed along. it was the Barber Shop arc where our trio was forced to run a barbershop in disguise and had to serve a police commander, a rebel leader and the almighty Shogun himself. I feel bad for the Shogun but damn, he gets disrespected in the most hilarious ways, the poor man! Saiki K is also full of hilarity and ridiculousness. Perhaps i only like Gintama more because if Shinpachi ruins Gintama for some, to me, it's Kokomi who slightly ruins Saiki K. It's because i knew a bully much like her in school-a narcissist with a superiority complex who believes beauty is the ultimate power that can let her get away with anything and make everyone, especially boys and ephebophiliac men, be subservient to her whims. I often cringe on scenes that voices her inner thoughts, but those are few and at least not all characters are fooled so she gets humbled once in a while.
took the words right out of my mouth. I definitely enjoy both but gintama tops Saiki K for me and i agree with you Kokomi is a character i wish i could remove from the show. Everyone in Gintama, whom i used to find annoying at first grows on me and Shinpachi, i don't pay too much mind to, I find that he balances out Gin and Kagura well.
What I personally really like about Saiki K and what makes it funny to me is the way it makes fun of a lot of anime tropes instead of using them. I watch a lot of anime and some of the cliches and tropes genuinely annoy me. Saiki K and Gintama present that recognizable feeling in a way where you can't help but laugh at how ridiculous it is. I almost pissed my pants laughing when the classic trope of "MC outclasses a long time professional at their own game" is exaggerated when Saiki pulls a full hobo out of his bag in front of the magician.
I personally like it when comedies take things to the absolute extremes, like in saiki k or kaguya (which is my favourite romantic comedy). Saiki k takes troupes, pushes them to extremes, and then puts the characters into mundane situations, its so stupid and I love it. It also helps that a lot of these shows just move on and don't talk about how ridiculous the situation actually is.
@@cammybola2968 yeah but konosuba has those weird ass moments where i feel kinda embarrased to be watching it in the 1st place. Like that fking bathroom episode in the 2nd season made me wanna kms. Especially since im not a dude its wildly uncomfortable.
Saiki K is hilarious, cringe, awkward, and silly at the same time, and I love it. It’s a shame that Netflix doesn’t have season 2 dubbed. I’m not some anime nerd that’s about to read subtitles for a whole season.
If you haven’t watched season 2 you really should, I LOVE season 1 but season 2 is better whenever I watch season 1 I basically just wait until season 2

The good thing abt Saiki K is that it has it's cliche anime tropes(like a dumbass, a pervert, overly simpi-fied girl etc.) but manages to still make it funny as hell. Not to mention the VA of Saiki(which voices Levi too if u didnt notice ya stoopeed) being literally deadpan everytime. I’m SO GLAD Saiki K was used as a positive example, it’s such a good anime and I am so damn immature to I laugh AUDIBLY at almost every joke in that damn show. The only jokes that never really get me are the Teruhashi jokes, unless it’s at her expense.
I mean most of the jokes about Teruhashi are at her expense so still really good. I'm just sad the second season will probably never get a dub and it was dubbed so well.
One thing that made me like the manga more than the anime is how fast-paced the anime is. To be honest I don't really see the need to make every joke and every character speak so fast because they already works well without the need for speeding things up. And also the animation is inconsistent, and Saiko's VA kinda suck. Nonetheless I fucking love Saiki K and I would literally cut off my own dick to defend it
@@morkk5945 The manga is pretty fast paced as well each chapter is extremely short. That's why the anime is so fast paced to match the manga. Although I guess you have more time to take it in when reading.
@@morkk5945if you want to know what Saiki k would be like if it was less fast watch the ONA from 2013. I think the pacing is perfect maybe not for the English audience as we have to read all the subtitles but it’s usually not important to read everything just read what Saiki’s saying lol
If you like absurd humour, maybe try Migi & Dali? If I must describe that show in a sentence, it would probably be "Imagine if a whole anime created with every single scene having the same tension as Death Note's potato chip scene". It's peak.

I watched Saiki K out of boredom and I gotta say, it was the best decision I’ve made. I keep wanting to rewatch the whole thing even though I already know what’s gonna happen. It’s still manages to be funny
Same experience with me but for Gintama. Got in because I was absolutely bored of the anime that came out that seasons and felt like I have already tasted shounen enough. Suddenly I can't stop watching and now all I do is rewatching it rather than watch a new anime. Comedy anime does have a high rewarching value.
If you still wanna do the rewatch thing, I recommend watching the opposite from what you did the first time- ie: If you watched the dub, watch the sub, and if you watched the sub, watch the dub. The jokes are slightly different in each, but both hit so hard.
same , I didnt know saiki k would be that good at all. It was the best choice of my life. Im just sad because not even the manga was continuing. and theyfinished it actually.
Gintama wasn't made for a western audience, a big part of the humour depends on japanese media, wordplay and retro anime references. Re-watched this with Japanese friends and we had a blast.
Facts, it's just like if you showed a Japanese person the Boondocks, they may be amused but still very confused bcuz they wouldn't get many of the American cultural references in the show
@@julioalvarado7548 Does Gintama even have boob jokes? They have barf jokes, and fart jokes, and scat jokes..Y'know, the jokes Westerners die of laughter to. If Gintama _does_ have boob jokes, they amount to..like.. .1% of the jokes, if even that. I mean, I've watched the whole thing four times or so and I don't remember any outside of a small gag involving a spider, which I don't really count as that's not the joke. Using boob jokes as some kind of barometer of an entire culture's comedy is beyond stupid. Especially when the above "Western" jokes I pointed out are basically the basest form of comedy _we_ have, yet people literally pay hundreds of millions of dollars to go see The Hangover and all of its sequels.
Saiki K is my favorite comedy anime but I have to owe it to you for getting me into anime! Kaguya Sama was my first anime so I’m just gonna watch all of these in full.
Finally someone who addresses anime memes aren’t funny. I thought it was just me. They can be very rarely be relatable at times, (they're mostly degens) but no smirk or anything from me. Edit: I'm mostly talking about using anime girl templates to show "relatable" things or the fucking best "waifu" shit (It's unfunny asf + you get no girls)
Gintama and Saiki k are the only animes to make me laugh out loud. The comedy doesn’t seem forced at all and the characters are so blunt with each other sometimes I can’t believe it’s an anime.
Kaguya is in my top 5 anime ever tbh. I've read all the manga too. I will literally just think about some of the jokes in my daily life and start laughing about them. I think the reason it's so good is that 100% of the population has been an awkward teenager and/or in embarrassing situations. Aka Akasaka (great name btw) exploits the inner cringe to make for outward funny. I don't know much about Oshi No Ko but if it's even half as good as Kaguya we are all very lucky.
The thing that made Kaguya-Sama so appealing in my opinion is how over-the-top and dramatic some of the most stupid situations are played out to be. Especially the Narrator, who elevated the show to another level in the anime. I love the manga, but the narrator in the anime made the show laugh so much.
I think it got boring very fast, but yeah I see its a good anime just not for me. And this is the first video from this guy. Complain about shouting when he screaming like a Z tier metal band.

Saiki K is the first anime to ever make me laugh. It's very far from those "over the top" cringy animes with so much overacting that it makes you die a little inside, and what comes out of you is just genuine burst of laughter.
Urusei Yatsura is probably my favourite comedy anime, most of the modern troupes of the genre originate from it and the carnage and chaos merged with some sweet moments is just incredible
Saiki k may not be seen as comedy for everyone, but the parody aspect of classic anime tropes definitely made me laugh multiple times, and have it be as beloved to me as it is
Saiki K is prolly the best comedy anime out there, cuz it's humor is so out of context it's actually fucking hilarious, and the way they animate the character's expressions in some situations is just chef's kiss 😭

I do personally keep track of every anime that can make me laugh consistently. It’s just three so far: Gintama, Saiki K and My Bride is a Mermaid. That’s it Edit: Adding Kaguya-sama, Spy x Family and Boondocks if you count that
dude you should try Love is War, BeelzeBub, and Hinamatsuri. By far the funniest anime's I've ever watched. Love is war kept me entertained and laughing for the whole of season 1 and 2. And i was surprised because I don't like romance, but thought I would try it fore heck of it since its popular and I don't regret a second. I highly recommend these anime. Im still waiting to try ginatama, but haven't got to it because there are many episodes. Saiki K is on my watch list and I've heard many good things about it
Saiki K is a hidden gem of an anime because of the gags and surprisingly good dub, and Gintama is a double edge sword because of the balance between comedy and drama, the action scenes being badass, the main selling point of Serious arcs, and the gags and jokes are not recognised by Western audience, and it appeared many times at MAL with 9 titles at top 30. Edit: The Boondocks is a Hidden Gem of an Anime-Like Comedy.
Boondocks is my favorite animated comedy type show but that’s prob because with the comedy in anime Americans might not get it or it could be in tropes while boondocks is more unique and aimed at Americans with the topics and jokes
I agree although I wasn’t surprised the dub was good tbh since most dubs are imo. Most dubs are like the subs, but for Saiki K I especially liked the dub it’s like the Dangonrompa dub and some of the Japanese voices too. I just amazing tbh. /lh
As a Japanese, I’m genuinely so happy that foreigners like Gintama. I tried showing it to my American friends but they were confused by the references and generally didn’t seem to care. It was a secret favorite of mine and I was embarrassed to tell others. I just want to say that I’m so happy that others like them. EDIT: Wow, thank you so much everyone for the awesome responses! It really made me feel touched that so many people all over the world can all like the same things. Quick question to any fan out there: Which episode was your favorite, and how did you get past any confusing jokes/references? One of my favorite comedy-focused episodes was the funeral one (episode 231), but I feel it has a lot of cultural references on how funeral processions work here so I wasn't sure if the comedy resonates. I'm curious if those episodes are still funny or if they're just confusing.
Gintama is still pretty good without knowing most of the references, but after knowing where the gags come from it’s so damn good. The episodic episodes are my favorite; even though the story, action, and feels of the arcs totally slap. Also it’s got the best cast of any anime or manga, and you can identify each one by their silhouette.
Yea tbh I watched the show twice over, the only stuff that can be kinda tiresome are the celebrity jokes because they don't mean anything to me, but even then some still just work even without context
Good video dude! If you’re taking recommendations, The Vampire Dies In No Time is pretty funny imo. Especially the dub. It reminds me of Gintama but I genuinely laugh in almost every episode
I haven't watched a lot of comedy anime but Saiki K is one of the ones that made me laugh my ass off. Another comedy anime that has genuinly made me laugh my ass off is Mr. Osomatsu-san. So I recommend it
With Straightman characters, I think it’s also important that they also descend into complete tomfoolery from time to time. In Konosuba, Kazuma is a straightman for everyone else’s shenanigans w/ his deadpan moments-then he turns around and does the most outlandish, ludicrous, and diabolical things. In Komi Can’t Communicate, Tadano is often dragged into the bits he’s supposed to straightman for and gets carried away to the point he’s not even a straightman anymore. Even in Western comedies like Eric Andre’s show has a straightman (Hannibal) who alternates between being a straightman and being a straight menace
Mob psycho is top 10 anime of all time for sure, between it's plot and amazing character development and just how ridiculously funny it is it's genuinely hard to think of many others that can top it
Yeah, ONE's writing is genuinely one of the best. My man can take a character who's main thing is being the strongest and make him the most interesting character in the show.
The respect for Love is War, followed up by racist jokes in the Boondocks, was a much appreciated combo. God bless the third season of Kaguya; they're going hard in the editing department.
I’d say one of my favorite scenes from Saiki K is during the episode when Teruhashi is out due to being sick and rumors begin about how she is going to die. Then Hairo rushes out the building and yells to the sky “TAKE ME INSTEAD” then Kusuo replies “It’s just a cloud” or something along the lines of that. It was funnier when I watched it compared to me describing the scene.
YOUR OPINION IS SO SO VALID. NGL I WAS LITERALLY TWEAKING WHEN U PUT NICHIJOU IN 2ND PLACE BUT KAGUYA SAMA IN NUMBER 1 MADE ME CRY TEARS OF JOY. THANK YOU.
Gintama is basically the Boondocks for the Japanese, or the Asians to some extent, there are reasons why it was and is hailed as the best Comedy anime of all time. Just like what some people already said in the comment section, you really have to understand Japan and some of it's culture to properly understand the jokes and the character of the four eyed, since most of them can flew over people's head very easily, especially the westerners.
@@balldropper3423 your not understanding his point. he's trying to say if a random Japanese person watched boondocks with no knowledge of black culture they probably wont find it as funny becuz they wouldn't get the jokes
I can easily say that Great Teacher Onizuka changed my life. I first watched it when I was 12, still watch or read it occationally. Personally, it made me laugh so many times that I lost count. Aside from the comedy aspect, it is real as it gets. No elemental powers, no jutsu's, no girls flinging around the protagonist. It is about an ex-biker who wants to be a teacher because of the thought of dating a teenager; however, he changes the lives of many troubled students (and peers) in a much better way. It is inspirational (I am a private tutor now thanks to it), hilarious af, and yet very real and sad from time to time. I absolutely recommend it to everyone.
Nah cause why was he so interested in his students? That anime still has me 🤨 like what was up with everyone praising how 'mature' the highschoolers looked and how it was 'realistic'? Idk i liked it somewhat cause some episodes do got me smiling but other parts got me 🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨
Saiki-K will always be special in my heart because it is the first anime I've watched subbed, and is what made me start watching anime in the Subbed version instead of the dub.
But the Saiki K dub is one of the best dubs ever. The only advantage the sub has is the yare yare reference. And the dub itself has advantages too. Saiki in the dub has a much more pained and annoyed voice than the Japanese version, in other words, it's just straight up better casting.
@@EvilParagon4 ehh I wouldn’t agree to that. The jokes just don’t land with dub. I’ve tried but none of the jokes land were with sub most of the jokes flow super well. I would say as far as dubs go it is one of the better ones. Like saiki subbed sounds annoyed but also seems much more interested in his interest meaning his excitement towards those interests. Sure he sounds more annoyed in dub but he sounds annoyed even when he is happy.
@@TheFrostyMan21I would probably have issues with watching it subbed, just because the comedy is pretty fast paced and I won’t be able to keep up with it while reading lol
One punch man and mob psycho 100 are also really funny, they extend interactions so much just for one single punchline which is totally worth it. It is like one of the animes that we actually physically laugh out loud at.
really? when does mob psycho get good? I dropped it in the 2nd episode because im not a fan of anime with bad character design, and the comedy was just wasnt for me. Does it ever get better?
I thought you wouldnt say love is war but for me it was DEF one of the best animes ive ever seen its fucking AMAZING and the fact that you brought it up is just so based of you
I think what makes Love is War good is the fact that like a good portion of the humor doesn’t do anime tropes. Instead, it’s so similar to internet humor especially later on in the manga series. That shit is peak. Saiki K is also very good. When I first watched the series, I thought it was gonna be mid af but after finishing the entire series it had me laughing almost every episode. The characters also don’t get too annoying. The problem with Grand Blue is that there’s not enough episodes. That shit is so fucking good. Edit: If yall are down to read manga. Sora Yori Takaku is funny as hell. The stuff that happens there is crazyy.
Well Love is War actually is a parody of those tropes, like half of the funny moments are making fun of anime culture, and the other half is because they make fun of real life people behaviour They just exaggerate the proportion of the stupidity of both anime tropes and people behaviour, but they do it godly
Saiki K is forever gonna be my favorite comedy, and I'm so happy it's been getting the recognition it deserves, with plenty of people using it as an example of a great comedy. But man oh man I was not prepared to see Hinamatsuri in the top, the most underrated show of all time. I'm so happy I happened across it when it was just starting to come out since watching just one episode is a very small commitment, or else I would have put it off like every other show. I was counting the days for each new episode of that show, and then I caught up on the manga and did the same with that until it ended. Anyone who hasn't seen Hinamatsuri needs to, right now! I've made people who don't like slice of life watch it and they've all enjoyed it, please just try it for god's sake it's so underrated.
HOW is it funny? I’m curious, because everyone says it is yet I watched two seasons and never laughed once. I don’t get the praise for it. The comedy is one note, the characters are 1 dimensional, and the settings are usually so bland
@@mizonami1934Gonna assume you're referring to Saiki since you said two seasons..? The whole point of the characters is that they're all typical anime-tropes either taken to the extreme or with a fun twist. And Saiki's deadpan commentary as he reluctantly lets himself get dragged along is a beautiful contrast to the high-energy antics the rest of the cast gets up to. As for why it's not making you laugh I have no idea, but for me and plenty of other people it's a very special anime that never fails to make me laugh when I revisit it 🤷♀️ either way go watch hinamatauri
@@Hcnirgawonsaiki k isn’t all that bro. The show can be funny, especially that one girl who’s obsessed with herself(blue hair I forgot the name). It’s a decent comedy anime but the problem I found when I watched a bit of it, is the fact that the characters are more annoying than funny. Especially saikis dumbass friend. Having dumb characters like that who exist just for the sake of being stupid feel extremely one dimensional. Exaggerating tropes can be very funny but only up to a certain point. Prison school, konosuba, cautious hero are funnier than saiki k. Konosuba is my favourite comedy anime, they exaggerate common isekai tropes in a way where it’s funny but not too annoying. Cautious hero does this as well. Eminence of shadow is less of a comedy but it still exaggerated tropes in a way where it’s funny and not annoying. If it’s to the point where an entire characters personality revolves around one joke than in my opinion it makes the comedy repetitive and annoying.
@@Chris_CO And again this just supports what I said about everyone having different taste. While Konosuba made me giggle here and there, Saiki is one of very few shows to make me fully laugh several times per episode. And again, the characters are great in my opinion?? Nendo is lovingly stupid, but also incredibly nice and has a few wholesome moments you don't expect from that type of character. Teruhashi starts out like an extreme "pretty girl" just wanting Saiki to fall for her, but by the end she starts genuinely liking him and wanting to be around him since he's the only person who treats her like a human. I can go on, but those were the characters you mentioned. We'll just have to accept that we have different taste honestly, that's not a bad thing, just wanted to explain how I see the show :]
@@Hcnirgawon yeah. I’ll b honest. Saiki k is probably a more “wholesome” kind of comedic relief than the ones I mentioned. I fw your opinion though. I literally watched Saiki K because of this video. The only anime I had watched prior were Death Note, the Pokèmon anime, and One Piece (pre Enies Lobby). Thank you for introducing me to what is now my favorite anime of all time.
As someone who's interested in anime without it being enough to be called a weeb, I'm so glad Saiki K. & OPM is regarded as good by you guys, they're the only animes I've seen that make me laugh _out loud_ in every episode. @@tmlconfirmed5784 I don't think that means anything, it's the same as having the pfp of a character you like. I haven't seen the "classics" like JoJo, Death Note, A Silent Voice, One Piece, Naruto or DBZ. I don't have merch & barely know Japanese, and prefer dubs. I actually dislike the inherent art style of the average basic anime (not the ones above who have distinct styles), and there's many tropes that bother me at a point where it stops me from fully enjoying everything (I caught on to the things weebs complain about- basic MCs, harems, unnecessary ecchi, same face syndrome, mistreatment of female characters, etc pretty early). "Cute" anime girls also piss me off, they're just annoying to me. So I think I don't demonise those who love anime, it can be a great medium, but I'm not entrenched in the culture either.
“Golden boy” gives strong air out of the nose energy if anyones interested, whoever dubbed the protagonist in the show helps carry the laughs I ain’t gon lie

The whole time I was thinking "how is this guy not gonna mention Kaguya Sama?!" until you ranked it #1. Even if you didn't I would've been laughing either way. Great video.
I absolutely love this video. Putting Kaguya-sama as 1 is such an amazing way of coming out as homosexual! Personally, I would put GTO as number 1 since it is the grandaddy of comedy in anime. Amazing video and I am expecting much more amazing, queer content from you!
I wholeheartedly agree with this and it’s hard to find most anime actually funny but I recommend “cuticle detective inaba”. It does have a straight man as a main character but it’s made me laugh out loud every time I watched it
For me, gintama, hinamatsuri, ghost stories(dubbed version), grand blue, saiki k, trigun, nanbaka and my bride is a mermaid, are currently the only comedy centric animes that has genuinely made me burst out laughing so far.
Dude. Holy shit. I've never resonated with someone so hard over my constant disappointment in "comedy anime". I really do love a lot of gag animes that center around anime cliches and tropes, or really extreme anime ( i.e. danshi koukusei no nijichou, saiki k, asobi asobase, etc). But I TRY TO GIVE THEM ALL A CHANCE. And so many times I walk away not really feeling like they are even that funny 😞 I dunno. Maybe I'm just a hater.
Out of every comedy anime, I only laughed at Gintama (though tbh, I laughed when watching/reading it too many times to remember) because it’s just the kind of joke me and my friends would make. I think Japan just constantly mistake “wholesome” and “fanservice” as “comedy”
@@sadge0 i cringed while watching kaguya sama, but when i read it, it was a lot funnier. not to say the anime was bad, but overall i enjoyed the manga a lot more.
Saiki K is the only anime that I've really ever laughed so hard to the most. I'm sure there's others out there but I feel like actually good comedy animes are pretty infrequent to come across. I'm really glad at least one person eventually talks about this topic because it really needs to be said. I feel like most (not all) but most comedy animes are just to try-hard for me.
Nichijou and saiki k are probably the only comedy anime that I ever laugh while watching, and it's sad that they still don't get enough recognitionment
Nichijou, Azumanga, and Saiki K are the best in the genre with Love is War close behind. They all have Looney Tune logic which lets their jokes be outlandish and use unique concepts.
Jojo slowly became my favourite comedy anime just out of the pure stupidity of the situations the characters are thrown into, and treat it like its life or death. It's already been memed to death with this trope with other cartoons being redesigned into Jojo art style and taking their light hearted situations over the extreme seriously, I love it!

Fun fact: the reason the ghost stories dub is like that is because no one in western countries found any shit in that show scary (even though asians do) so they decided to make it a dark humor show instead which succeeded kinda
And because they gave them no script
The English dub was given full liberty to do whatever they want with the voice acting as long as it worked with the story. Why? The original japanese did so ASS so they just gave up on a script 💀
Be for real💀 Idk how asians find that shit scary at all. I grew up on Ju-on, Ringu, Tale of two Sisters and Audition and as far as ik all my fellow asians did too. This is the type of stuff only 7yo’s find scary.

@@mastertjt56 I mean the show was fine in the beginning but it fell off so hard. It's like mostly filler at this point in the anime. Can't expect any difference considering how old that show is. @@cannedsquasher5923 read the manga
The shogun episodes were straight up 10/10
took the words right out of my mouth. I definitely enjoy both but gintama tops Saiki K for me and i agree with you Kokomi is a character i wish i could remove from the show. Everyone in Gintama, whom i used to find annoying at first grows on me and Shinpachi, i don't pay too much mind to, I find that he balances out Gin and Kagura well.
yo i cant be the only one who loves shinpachi, he makes scenes so much funnier
Love Saiki k. Kokomi is definitely annoying though.
@@SOTTOxd yeah, even when he got assassinated and the other dies

In Komi Can’t Communicate, Tadano is often dragged into the bits he’s supposed to straightman for and gets carried away to the point he’s not even a straightman anymore. The funniest line in all of anime. (At least in that context.)
@@EvilParagon4 imo hes supposed to be blank faced but funny.
@@bleh6809 haha fair enough
One punch man and mob psycho 100 are also really funny, they extend interactions so much just for one single punchline which is totally worth it. It is like one of the animes that we actually physically laugh out loud at.
mob psycho is so good
"one single punch line" was that a pun?
@@qazisgone7292 oh lol not intentional
really? when does mob psycho get good? I dropped it in the 2nd episode because im not a fan of anime with bad character design, and the comedy was just wasnt for me. Does it ever get better?
@@ovahlord1451 ye mob is fucking funny asf
i wasnt expecting GTO, but yeah that anime is hilarious, GOLD it is and yep whenever i feel low i would just watch it, always make me laugh.
Well Love is War actually is a parody of those tropes, like half of the funny moments are making fun of anime culture, and the other half is because they make fun of real life people behaviour
They just exaggerate the proportion of the stupidity of both anime tropes and people behaviour, but they do it godly
just read the grand blue manga, it's better than the anime anyway
I make some funny content like Degenerocity, y'all should check my channel out if you want a good laugh.
Love is War is mid
Saiki k is really fcking mc don't have a fck about anything
I don't have the time nor patience to sit here and try to explain comedy and how things that are hilarious to some won't be for others. I'm sorry but I have better things to do than try to guess which part of the show isn't clicking for you 😅
In my opinion, the characters are great, they all fall into tropes and cliches sure, but they're far from one dimensional.
I only watched like 20 eps of saiki k so I don’t know everything about it. Saiiki k is different from the kind of humour I’d find funny but I can see how it could be funny.

I feel other animes mostly have "haha" slapstick jokes that only fetuses would laugh at. And now I'll check out your other recommendations (Hinamatsuri seems interesting), thanks.

@@tmlconfirmed5784 prp
I really like saiki and hinamatsuri you should watch it!!!
@@tmlconfirmed5784 you have a maximellian pfp so you’re a child molester

But I TRY TO GIVE THEM ALL A CHANCE. And so many times I walk away not really feeling like they are even that funny 😞

Nothing wrong with being a hater. Kinda hurts, but it's better to hear some opinions
Out of every comedy anime, I only laughed at Gintama (though tbh, I laughed when watching/reading it too many times to remember) because it’s just the kind of joke me and my friends would make.
I think Japan just constantly mistake “wholesome” and “fanservice” as “comedy”
