Daniel sounded great and I didn't know that he could sing so well. The rest of the band did a great job, too! So, have a bloody kick ass day!!! Peace, Flood!
Thanks PHIL, you are one of a few people my son really likes and follow for good advice on guitars your knowledge and Charisma is contagious and is great you always keep it light.
I think that is one of the best versions of that song I have ever heard. Awesome. Wish we could get videos of just all the songs you guys have done at the end of these vids
i wish this guy could teach me how to play guitar, but then again there's probably thousands of others that would want that... still he's an amazing player.
Great run down on the versatility of the Broadcaster. Awesome cover of the Cars, I got to see them in a small club in New Jersey before they hit i t big, I was working as a bouncer. Ha ha!
Witford is the rhythm guitar player for Aerosmith. I know that because Derek St Holmes used to live close by me here in Conyers Georgia and played at a local bar . And thats where I also learned that There was a Witford and St Holmes band . Really love watching your videos you are a awesome player and funny man 😂 . Thanks for letting in on awesome licks and tricks . Thanks bro keep up the good work. Waiting on the Drills to come close enough to grab tickets
No "Communication Breakdown"?? Phil X doing a tele/Broadcaster vid without that song is surely a sign of the apocalypse! Needless to say, it sounds tremendous though. Makes me want to dig out my Baja tele again!
Hey Phil, you're around the same age as me - do you remember The Cars playing that track at Live Aid in 1985? That was one of the defining musical moments of my early teen years.
What a blast, Phil X you are the man. If I get a wild hair one day, I might hot wire the Space Shuttle and pick you up for a ride, be sure to bring your axe. LOL
Starting my b-day right with the X-man shining the ligh !t:-) Perhaps on my Squier Tele I'll do a no b involvement solo later.. You were in the "special" form for this one:-0
Hey phil, a few questions. How long have you been playing guitar? And I once saw a guitar that had crazy off the hook tech in it that could change its sound from an electric guitar to an acoustic and so on. I'd love to know what it's called and if you could find and test it out! Thanks man keep on rocking!!!!!
Phil do you practice these covers from time to time or are they just ingrained in your head from playing them so many times? like, how do you not miss notes from time to time when your cover library is so vast? awesome videos and attitude man thank you so much
+Brendan Millard one does not simply know where its from xD Seriously, I agree, its really super cool. I think he was jamming. Or maybe some James Brown lick?
this is probably way far out to ask as i know you don't do tutorials, but could you possibly figure out the solo for the song Sifting by Nirvana off the Bleach album? if you can id like to see you play it in a close up shot so i can slow it down and go back and learn it!
Absolutely loving Mr Daniel Spree on the Cars tune! KICK ASS!!!
When he turned to the neck pickup I could instantly be "in the zone" playing for hours... Amazing tone.
Daniel sounded great and I didn't know that he could sing so well. The rest of the band did a great job, too! So, have a bloody kick ass day!!! Peace, Flood!
evelasq1 i wish my band had chemistry like that
Practice makes perfect.
Daniel Spree can do anything!
Phil X, The solo on the Cars tune was excellent!! You would make Elliot Easton proud.
So much complexity to the tone of the guitar. So much resonance, and an amazing sound
Thanks PHIL, you are one of a few people my son really likes and follow for good advice on guitars your knowledge and Charisma is contagious and is great you always keep it light.
Great singing on Just What I Needed....bravo gents!
I think that is one of the best versions of that song I have ever heard. Awesome. Wish we could get videos of just all the songs you guys have done at the end of these vids
What a great, solid, punchy drummer Randy is.
Boy Phil sure loves Stevie Wonder. I can hear it in everything he plays:-) Sounds awesome that he's rockified such a signature Stevie Wonder sound.
i wish this guy could teach me how to play guitar, but then again there's probably thousands of others that would want that... still he's an amazing player.

My favorite song of all time! Just what i needed! Made my day!
Witford is the rhythm guitar player for Aerosmith. I know that because Derek St Holmes used to live close by me here in Conyers Georgia and played at a local bar . And thats where I also learned that There was a Witford and St Holmes band .

Dan's vocals are awesome!
BEAUTIFUL DUDE.........
Please upload the cover as a separate video!! It was so good
Does anybody know where the riff at 02:34 is from? That sounds like the perfect movie scene where some important twist happens. And so moving..
I like all the knotty little licks in the new song.
Holy crap that tone
Dude, the Cars!! Nice
Sounds amazing
Phil X , you f-cking rock dude.
Hey Phil, you're around the same age as me - do you remember The Cars playing that track at Live Aid in 1985? That was one of the defining musical moments of my early teen years.
Pretty sweet sounding right there: 3:28 - 3:41
What a blast, Phil X you are the man. If I get a wild hair one day, I might hot wire the Space Shuttle and pick you up for a ride, be sure to bring your axe. LOL

Matthew Delgado Thanks!

philx1111 Thanks. We/I appreciate the engagement and entertainment you provide.. Some of which comes ( you will readily admit) from yo backside! :-0
sam bergstein i think he is doing his own rendicion of riannon by fleetwood mac
The lick at 7:12 is sick. Love that.
You nailed that Cars tune, now please do some Cheap Trick for my birthday next time!
What's the song at 1:40?
quoting Phil X: "it's a new Drills song called Fall From Happiness."
It would be cool to see the band segments in separate video's
so great...I mean...SO GREAT!!
Pullin out The Cars....nice

I want the new Drills record NOW!
Certainly Broadcasts, very nice reminder of how good The Cars were too.
Like that funk riff at 3:10
bills48321 does anybody know where its from?
4:54 Anybody knows this riff? Or can you tab it for me?
what is phil playing at 1:40
cody thompson He was playing a 1998 Custom Shop Fender Broadcaster
Miguel Fernandes gee thanks smart ass.
it's a new Drills song called Fall From Happiness.
philx1111 is it based off of a older song? Soumds like something else. Still awesome
cody thompson Sounds like Fleetwood mac "Rhiannon", but Drills riff sounds better
Try playing thunderstruck without using the B string next video hahaha
frankdelaciti viraneiser Capo the G
Miguel Fernandes Capo is cheating lol there is other ways of doing it
Anyone can help me out on what pedals Phil is using in this? I love is boosted signal. Still retains the natural character of the amp.
Little Wing, pretty :)
Spot on player. Great 3 piece band sound. Guy is really nuts tho. But so am I, oh well
The bassist is awesome!
Maybe he could make some cool bass reviews
Cheers
God damn. Dan Drill is fucking awesome!!
Pushin that drills stuff hard haha
If you like Dan, you should check out his band Spriewald, some damn fine tunes!!!
Right Daniel!!!
At the 3 minute mark Phil played like a funk djent thing!
ROCK ON
Shichyeah! Good times
Phil do you practice these covers from time to time or are they just ingrained in your head from playing them so many times? like, how do you not miss notes from time to time when your cover library is so vast? awesome videos and attitude man thank you so much
3:30 what's the song???????
The bass stole the show.
What is that riff at 3:10, its seriously bugging me.
+Brendan Millard one does not simply know where its from xD
Seriously, I agree, its really super cool. I think he was jamming. Or maybe some James Brown lick?
Its a tasty lick, think i might learn it :p
heyy, what's the intro song?!!
When can I hear the Drill's new songs?
Angus does not use much gain. His tone is based on volume and driving the power tubes not the preamp tubes.
I don't like teles, but this one sounds amazing.
neun Arme It's not a Tele...
5:06 ....please anybody ?....sound sooo familiar ...
You should totally play Shout At The Devil once!
What was that first song/riff Phil played?
can you do in the box by aic, i think you could do a good layne staley style voice
this is probably way far out to ask as i know you don't do tutorials, but could you possibly figure out the solo for the song Sifting by Nirvana off the Bleach album? if you can id like to see you play it in a close up shot so i can slow it down and go back and learn it!
that song was pretty fukn cool :p
Anyone not play along to Hell's Bells and Just What I Needed?
3:04 Phil covers Periphery
First time heard Dan sing
depending on the camera angle the bass player resembles Myles Kennedy. Does anybody else see it or is just me?
Back In Black was written by Malcolm, not Angus :)
Cool episode but what the hell is wrong with the video quality?
Dan can sing.
Superbé singing Daniel!! |m|,
I think my knob is too stiff. Sometimes I can hardly move it.
Sorry, but has anyone noticed how sad and stressed out Phil looked?
Surrogated not really
Pretty sure Joe Perry played the solos, not Whitford
Not in walk this way. He did Last Child and Hoodoo Voodoo Medicine Man and some others though
I was originally talking about Walk This Way because Phil was playing/talking about it
only 8 views so far!
One of these days those tattoos will be healed.
Has anyone been to NAMM who can give an estimate of what the ratio males to females who are in attendance ?
phil x' schtick is wearing thin, honestly
