I love it! I was born in Fullerton in 1960 and G&L is over by the Home Depot lol. A bit of history in town to see. Lucky to see Dick Dale up in Big Bear before he passed. Such a nice guy.
Amazing recreation! George Fullerton re joined Fender in 2007 for a signature Custom Shop '57 Strat and amp, and no doubt had input in other projects. He passed away in 2009, so did he sign that guitar as it was in development the year before it was completed? His son Geoff worked at G&L and moved to the Fender Custom Shop at about the time Leo Fender passed away (1991).
Cool & unique guitar with historical significance. I’m sure this was a big inspiration for the ltd edition Noventa Tele fender released a couple of years ago - love my Noventa Tele, great guitar with prototype esquire vibes 🎸👌
Excellent point when I saw the noventa I thought to myself that's based off that George Fullerton tele with the cutoff pickguard hard-to-find those now used
I have guitar made in '69 by a Thessaloniki guitar maker. It was his first electric, made at my urging after I got one of his excellent acoustics. Nope , no annoying truss rod. It has been 100% stable for the past 54 years, unlike my truss rodded Fenders that bounce around every season change. It does have a big neck, but so do my Fenders. 52 RI Tele , 51 RI Neck partcaster, Bajas and Jimmie Vaughn Strat. All I can figure is it was jntroduced to deal w improperly dried wood. Its a bad idea. W the rise of Roasted wood, its time to again have all wood necks.
If it is created as a replica of the original the neck would have no truss rod. Is this the case with this replica? I thought it might have have been a great spec check fact to bring up. The guitar is beautiful and sounds great.
Musicians friend couldn’t give them away back in the day I remember them dropping the price. Word I heard was Neck has no truss rod so nobody would buy it.
Very glad we got to meet you guys today. Wish we could have stayed longer for guitar of the day. Geraud and Eleanor from Texas
Agnesi vibes with that surf beginning :)
Brandon forgot to mention the reason for that boat neck: there's no truss rod!

Rocking the surf sound Dick Dale is smiling
I suspect that guitar as been sold already, Guitars like that, simply don’t hang around, thanks a lot Norman.
I really heard that pine resonating. Especially with distortion.
Nice guitar.
One pickup, one song! Lol! Different guitar! Awesome video Mike and Jen! Wouldn’t miss one! Good luck on your gig!
Really Great Sound!

Great job Lemmo! That guitar sounds great! Thanks Jen!
I dig the Bigsby-inspired headstock associated with Fender, but I am not complaining about the headstock on this one. That rocks.
That is a cool guitar! Sounds incredible! Great playing Lemmo!
sans truss rod, hence huge neck

Pine T-style guitars sound so fan-freaking-tastic!
It's an interesting looking guitar, I like the sound
proper telly sound mike tray 60s.
Oh yeah. Pine is good for christmas trees
I love it !!! Sounds Killer LEMMO !!! Thanks Brandon and Jen !!!
I asked about shipping details long ago , never answered , is there even someone looking at the emails ?

Surfin USA!
What is that intro tune??
Sounds enormous - what a tone!
So basically a replica of a prototype Esquire????
It’s a prototype from before the guitar even had a name or a set number of pickups. No trussrod yet either, which is why the neck is so chunky.
Whoooooooh!!!
2.8kg yep that’s bloody light.
Does that neck have a truss rod?
No.

The only reason I can think that he didn't say headstock was he had just said snakehead and "snakehead headstock" might seem redundant to say.
4:30 strange guitar for a Gibson Custom Shop
Fender should take a cue from Gibson and unleash the attorneys on them.
You have a really good ear, he does say Gibson Custom Shop
@@Wilco1972 I agree
Lap Steel pick up as hairy as as a Rickenbacker horse shoe. Not as primitive as “The Log”. Gigable.

Did we not mention the lack of a truss rod intentionally?
Tremolo
"that you get from the Gibson custom shop" ...anyone else hear that? 😂
👌
Sounds like it’s great for Surf 🏄🏾♀️ & psychobilly
What's the song Michael is playing pls? I know it but forgot the name.
1: Pipeline 2: Rumble 3: Life in the Fast Lane
👍✌❤😎
I get this model's historical significance but i absolutely don't get why anyone would pay to buy a guitar like this.
I think you're confusing guitar players with guitar collectors.
I'd get it for the superb sound and chunky neck, and no annoying truss rod.
Lemmo the Looper 😁
Thick tone!
That headstock doesn’t sit right with me.
It looks like a lapsteel.
ni
Didn't understand if it's replica or the original guitar of 1950... )
it is a 2010 Custom Shop
Replica
Leo made a snakehead guitar in 1949 to take with him to the patient office, in 1950 they went into production.
Can't see how those gutters put in the paint no way bridge cover could have done that big thumb down
They actually did; if you look at photos of the original prototypes from back then.
Ah, good I was wondering what they were.
Awesome Dudes.
Surfer dude!
