IMO, the outfits you put together (from clothing you already own), mostly looked *better* than the ones the celebrities were wearing! You really are great at deconstructing a look, figuring out its essential elements and then re-constructing it in a more accessible way. Good work!
Alyssa has a beautiful figure and looks good in any thing she puts in. I have to tell you this was a lot of fun. She adapted different styles some unique, some of which I would never ever consider and others styles casual successfully and made it work for her. I love how she experimented with the vintage scarf until she found just the right look for herself. but when she is ready to venture out she will know exactly what works and what doesn't, what is comfortable and what is not. I forgot how fun it is to play dress up. I have fond memories when I was young visiting my Mom's sister, my aunt and them getting lost in my aunt's closet.
Dear Alyssa, love your mom’s red pants! Love how you interpreted Blake Lively’s looks. I feel your version looks even better than hers because the square pocket is way better than the bow tie for the tuxedo dress. I especially enjoyed the snow ❄️ outside of your window. I live in Los Angeles and it never snows in winter holiday season.
Great idea for a video! The tuxedo dress outfit looks nice but I'd put hair up, for example in a pony tail. Blake Lively is a blonde so her hair is in contrast to the colour of the dress while in your case dark hair and dark dress blend together. Putting it up would add more structure to the outfit.
Favorite look: your take on Blake Lively's outfit. So much fun and so instructive to watch you work through these looks and tweak them a bit. Thanks and Merry Christmas!
Ciao Alyssa! I am always amazed by your creativity and how you keep pulling magic out of your closet. The outfits you create are always so much better than the celebrities pictures. Love love love you! 🥰 XOXO
I just love, love your videos. You are so refreshing and realistic. All your insights are so inspiring. Thank you for showing us the process. This is amazing content. Merry christmas. You are the best.♥️♥️♥️
@@101GM8 hey there! Welcome! I don't include links often because my items are usually either really old or secondhand! For that first look - the pants are 10 years old Alice and Olivia, the tuxedo blazer was tailor made (a gift) but the tee shirt is fairly current and from @publichabit! I hope this helps xx
The black dress… that was an amazing transformation from school marm to chic. Personally the color block you did was waaaaaay more what I could pull off than the lime green which I couldn’t even imagine. I screenshot your solution!
I think you pretty much HIT all of the looks on the nail! I love tilda and her qwirky avant garde looks. She is unique and hard to emulate. I would love it if you could steal some looks from older fashionistas like Linda Rodin, Annie Lenox, Diane Keaton, Daphne Guinness, Sarah Harris....... there are many others! Because you have an older audience too! myself am 64 years old.
Like the little black dress and white shirt. Cute. Pocket square is a nice touch. You could put a little pin or broach at the neck instead of a bow tie!
Love that you show us the process!! It’s crazy, when you show us the base, I don’t see it, but then you make this outfit come into focus and it looks awesome
Loved seeing you in looks with long proportions. Personally I love having a lot of vertical lines in my outfits and I always wear long layers, never any crops and never tucking things in, but I feel like most people don't like looking quite so...collimated. I find that it's flattering to me bc I'm very short and it looks lengthening, but most short ppl seem to go with cropping the top portion to make their legs look longer. My goal is generally to look like one long rectangle lol.
Love that casual outfit with the trench coat and boots, is something I have on hand, not never styled them currently, but is an awesome to styled them this next festivities, while we visit for this next family gather. As well, as the one styled with the tuxedo dress. I can make that one with my black trench coat, love when you pour the scarf as a tie, I like a lot those ''boyish'' styles in a girl look. Thumbs up😎 Very great recreativos, and very accesible to sutiles it in my closet. Happy hollydays Alissa to proviide excelent ideas in any vlog that you make! CIAO and Happy Hollydays !
“Who are we kidding?”, I love your sense of humor! But I’m with you, also not a “baggage” girl, lol! Swapping out the top on the tuxedo dress made all the difference and I thought the scarf looked great as a necktie. ❤️ Have a great holiday, Alyssa!
The tux dress A++++! Need to get me one! Then the crop black jacket with the slit dress was my second fav! Awesome work! Thank you for your creativity!
Loved Look #1 when you added the belt and the final look better with your short black jacket. The way you work through the proportions to get a look spot on is fun to see. Merry Christmas and enjoy the holiday season.
I like the zendaya option and would love to see you pick some inspiration photos for the next one that are a little more out of your normal style bounds! I notice your inspo tends to always be in that preppy/blazer/structure vibe cause I think that’s your natural tendency 😉
So fun, Alyssa! To your point about the last look - it would be great to see a video about all of the little adjustments that can take an outfit from blah to fab. P.S. Please teach us how to tie a belt like you did with the Zendaya look!
When do I not love a shop your closet video? Amazing and instructive as always! I actually really liked the belt hanging down in the zendaya look. It really captured the length and brought the eyes down to the black boots, since you didn't have that length and color in the coat. And for the Jennifer Aniston look, may not be weather appropriate, but I think your black slingbacks would have been great! A little delicate and feminine contrast to the more utilitarian and less structured pants :)
Loved the last with the short black coat. Try it with black tights. I think that would give the dramatic colour story that you're looking for by lengthening the line of black.
I wasn’t too sure when you started with your Tilda recreate. However, by the time you were done it was something I might wear. I’d l love to give you 2 thumbs up!
Your videos are part of my weekly routine. Love your content, and I've attended one of your workshops too. This was one of your best videos. Quick hits, quick results, within the limits of your wardrobe. Mimics what I feel as I stared own my own wardrobe, with nothing close to your skill sets either. This inspires me to intentionally do the work, from inspiration, to try ons, to edits, and give my "new" outfits a street trial, though the pandemic's latest turn will make trips to the mailbox once again the extent of my daily outing. Ugh.
Yassss! Emmanuelle Alt ❤ Thank you for choosing her. I am so naturally ungirly. Emmanuelle Alt is perfect inspo for anyone that struggles with frills and flounce but still wants to look fierce and feminine.
Really love the way you consider how each outfit is constructed and then re-interpret it - but I couldn’t help (enjoying) being very distracted by firstly the cat, and secondly the falling snow! Best wishes for Christmas and looking forward to more of this style of video in 2022 🌨 🐈
Excellent! It's always so useful to me how you identify the style elements and then tailor them to fit you. The Tiilda Swinton outfit was my favorite though I enjoyed all of the looks. Bonus points for the pocket square I love those!
I have been watching your videos this past couple months. You are inspiring! I love everything. So attainable. You are a highlight in my week! Thank you. Merry Christmas.
I think Blake's wavy beachy hair was an important part of her overall look - added tension to the very sharp/corporate vibe. Really love your videos and the version you did though!
You're explanations and styling tips just keep getting better and better. You look great in all of the outfits but wow the Zendaya is superb! Have a very Merry Chrsitmas and a Happy New Year.
Thank you for this video , it's really inspiring . My brain is searching through my closet while watching your video trying to see how I can style what I have in my closet . Big thumps up . Merry Christmas
Coming to the party late here, but OMG, I liked YOUR version of these styles the BEST. Thanks for the tip to take the extra 30 seconds to fuss with the accessories. This is my bad habit....not taking the little bit of time. Thanks Alyssa, for the wonderful year of inspiration to keep on working on style. I appreciate you.
Like always you bring it when it comes to styling. My on point recreate by you was the one with Blake Lively but my favorite was the one by Zendaya it would have been on point if you would have had a long black coat. I am honestly shocked that you do not have a midi length black coat that the first wool coat that I got to go over my office wear or date night that you cannot see dirt on therefore less dry cleaning (for going in business situation, funerals, evening and formal cover up). Thanks for sharing and blessing to you and all in the days to come.
I just had to rewatch this before the New Year, and I have to admit that seeing you work that scarf as a pocket hanky makes the outfit look more Blair Waldorf-ish. Nothing wrong with that, but it's an interesting touch. I dig it! 😄
This was really fun to watch. Re the very last outfit with the high slits, I wonder what it could have looked like I’d you had worn black tights underneath. It might have elongated the black boot right up to your hips, making the open slits more interesting. Just a suggestion…
Hi Elfriede - yes! I think it would have looked great and put more emphasis on the black ... I have worn it that way too and loved it! Thank you for watching and the suggestion:):)

Love this type of video. Your versions are consistently better than the originals
Of course I absolutely love those looks, but what I can't take my eyes off is that view through your window. An absolute winter wonderland ❄️

Love the Blake Lively and Zendaya outfits! Those vertical lines in the last one make you look 6 feet tall! Hope you have a great time visiting family.
