Dear Alyssa, I didn't read all these comments, but I wanted to select a recent video to tell you what a HUGE difference your channel has made in my life. I have been spending many, many, many years trying to recover and heal from my "escape" pattern of buying, buying, buying. You have provided the needed empowerment for me to unload four closets full of clothes and two large bags of shoes. I can't thank you enough for doing what you do! It has been life-changing for me! Benedizioni, your cumpari, Mary Ann
I love your message during the Michelle Obama segment - you’re so right, who you are is important. You need to feel comfortable in your look, you can do that by having your look speak for you and who you are - accurate
Let's take a moment to notice something. Alyssa spoke about all the women in the same way: their elements style, how they use color, texture, and silhouette. But with one example, just her presence in the line-up triggers some others. I submit that says more about the people who are bothered than the fact that all three examples are well styled women and we could possibly take a idea or two from them and how to style our own closet. Breathe, y'all. It ain't that deep.
I just wanted to say thank you for introducing me to Grece Ghanem in this video. Her style is not my own but SO inspiring. She looks so chic and fearless in her choices. This really made my Mother's Day especially since I will be 54 in a few months. ❤
I'd love to see you create a modern spin on some iconic stars of the silver screen. Katherine Hepburn comes to mind. She wore trousers with such elegance and style. Trousers are having such a moment right now I think it could be fun to rwcreate some updated. Hepburn looks!
I love watching you Alyssa, you're so real and your comments today during the Michelle Obama segment were just so refreshing and honest and I loved it! Keep doing what you're doing cuz we're watching! And my closets looking better💚
I love how you break down the style... I love unique style I have mine but I'm a style wearer... Watching it's great cause you express style vocabulary❤
I love the teaching element in what you do; you explain the WHY and HOW to those of us who are trying to learn but keep it fun & light and enjoyable for everyone with great examples.
Really enjoyed this video! I like seeing fashionable mature women. It gives me hope that as I get older, I can be well-dressed and not fall into the trap of "giving up" because I'm "too old." Also, thank you for reminding me about Grece! Her style is FANTASTIC!
What I love about these videos is the actual "elements " of these individual styles that you are showing us how to incorporate into our wardrobe choices. It isn't about copying to the letter, (although it's said imitation is the sincerest form of flattery) it's more about borrowing ideas and making them our own.
Bravo on underlining how we can be inspired by elements of style, even if someone's overall wardrobe seems so far from our own. Especially loved highlighting Michelle Obama - the perfect example of valuing how much our own personality can be a part of personal style and can be translated into style choices!
Hi Alyssa, going through menopause and having weight fluctuation has cause me to lean into fast fashion. Watching your videos is soooo inspiring to get my key style dialed in and slow it down (the best I can) thank you for your content
Good morning from Oregon, and thank you for this fun video! You do this kind of thing so well, while not taking it - or yourself - too seriously....beautifully done. You are my favorite you-tuber and fashion stylist by far, and I have delayed breakfast to watch and comment ;-) Happy Mother's Day to you and your beautiful mom!
Amazing style icons - each with their own unique personality! Cindy Crawford's 90s street style is perfection, and I personally LOVE Michelle and Grece's confidence and power dressing! This was so fun to watch and can't wait to see more!
I like the idea of analyzing several looks by a fashion icon and then creating your own look with the elements of their style that work for you! Maybe someday you could do Sienna Miller or Queen Letizia?
I love your playful descriptions Alyssa, you are so naturally brilliant, you just shine with your bright sparkling eyes. Thank you for helping us reconnect creatively with our own closet. Xx😊
Since watching your videos, Ive become more appreciative and more creative with my wardrobe not getting too caught up in too much consumption though I still very much enjoy learning about whats trending. I look at my closet now and and I find myself wearing more than half of my wardrobe and enjoying it. Ive slowly put together a board of styles that inspire me..thanks again for such thought provoking content!
Awe righty! You sure have not done this type of video in a while. And thank you, hope everyone had a good Mother's Day. This was a good look at Michele Obama fashion vibe because I did not realize that she actually does favor wearing structure garments and not too much flouncy, which gives her a more suited professional vibe. With the Grece inspired look maybe if you added a scarf to the smaller handbag, it would help them to not look so structured and add accent flare. Regina Hall or Octavia Spencer is a couple of suggestions. Thanks for sharing and blessings to you and all in the days to come.
I liked this. Very much interested in how you don't copy the outfit, but you use your own pieces to emulate the vibe and the style. Great way to wear what you already have.❤
Oooooooh I loved this one!!! Especially Michelle and Greece! I love how you manage to break down their style to simple elements that are easily understood and equally easy to adapt into our own style. Thank you for a wonderful video!
Every time I see a post of Grece it brings me so much joy! A true inspiration/aspiration to enjoy fashion and staying true to yourself. Thanks for such a great treat on mother’s day! I got to enjoy this during some uninterrupted alone time, and I love your content 😊
Yes! This WAS a good one. I thoroughly enjoy the Shop Your Closet mindset in your videos and this one had different parameters with generalized style elements and character from Great Moms, indeed! Such diverse style themes, also my introduction to Grece Ghanem and I took much from her example, although far from my own style. It is always a delight to watch your own surprised reaction to an outfit combination! Unpredictable. Well done!
When you were showing the purses you were considering for the grey column dress, did you hear me shouting to the screen, "the black bag backpack!!!!" (i think it's a convertible backpack, is it not? Anyway...) So glad you came out with that 😆. Oh, wait; maybe I'm learning something?! 😮
Alyssa chose mothers whose style she wanted to try to emulate by shopping her closet. Doing so meant she liked these women's styles. My way of thinking ( just in general, not necessarily to do with clothes) is that you don't have to been in agreement with someone about politics or any other subject to gain inspiration from someone.
Hi Alyssa, Great video! You looked especially amazing in the Michelle Obama "look." My style icon is Gwyneth Paltrow, including about 10 years ago when her style was really natural, relaxed, a little bit preppy. Wondering if you could try that one some time?
Thanks for reminding me of Cindy Crawford. Love that last look-yes to the shoe choice AND if you ever decide to sell the green fanny bag, I’m your girl.
Alyssa! Thank you for another great video - showing that we should love what we have - and use our clothing in new, fun ways.... That Puzzle bag is so stunning with your items :-D It's a stunning bag! I have the small puzzle in sand and the mini in soft caramel - and they just go with so much.... As I get older - I rely on my basics and accessories.. Moving away from prints and giving them a break, then re-visiting them, if I get bored..
Thank you so much, I've learned so much on how to appreciate what I have in my closet and style it to give a new life and stop me from continues shopping . You are very inspiring . Thank you ❤
I would love for you to do Princess Anne. She has such a varying style, practical, chic, timeless and elegant.& She's a total badass. I think you'd be great for creating a mixed array of her style/fashion looks.
Me too!! And I love the look with the oversized bag so much, especially the combination of something so flowy and elongated with something bold and large
Great choices! I think it's a great approach to look at the overall style and vibe of a person and see how it can be adapted to you versus one outfit! Yep! More of this please!
Accessories like some necklaces, hat and a colored handbag might work too on the first look. I have MS so my body is uncomfortable so soft, natural & loose fabrics & flat shoes, boots or sneakers work well. I love it that dresses and white sneakers are in style... thank goodness! I love the Juxtaposition of a dress with ankle lace up boots and gives me feet and ankles some stability. I needle felted some flower patterns onto my distressed jeans that are soft and I wear all the time! It gives them a boots vibe too. My daily uniform is athleisure wear. That way I can practice yoga and go out of the house without changing my clothes. I usually put on a workout pant, yoga pant or legging paired with a loose top and a long sweater. I put on aome jewelry or a scarf, throw on a hat and sunglassess as I leave the house and I look like i tried and am put together.
Alyssa, I've been enjoying your content for awhile now and have to say I've learned a lot! Your elements of style make so much sense and are so helpful when shopping my closet and buying new pieces. Thanks for all you do!

@annabrecke I liked Alyssa's M.Obama inspired outfit the best. Great flared pants with the pinstripe. Cream belt looked 😘. It was so interesting to see ten or so of Michelle's outfits on one screen.

Loved the video, I would wear all the looks. Especially love the grey dress with the large bag. And I also still really love your convertible backpack. Is it heavy (when empty... 😁) Leather bags can be so heavy that I tend to not bring them.
You were spot on with all of your interpretations & translations to your own style! I am 100% not fashionable or into fashion, but it's fun to watch and maybe I'm learning a tiny thing or two (: editing to say I guess I should say 95% not into it since I'm watching this video at all, LOL. Somehow it's entertaining to me because it's so out of my wheelhouse and I am fascinated by the concept of fashion being a thing to do. Maybe I'll try harder (: I am totally the green sweater with the jeans girl, but I'd just be wearing tennies (: P.S. the black straps on your bra with the slinky dress actually pulled the black straps on the shoes together - I think you should wear it! There you go - input from the unfashionable, for what it's worth. I LOVED the huge black bag with the gray slippy dress!! Also loved to be introduced to Grece!! I would love to see you interpret Isabel Marant! Gosh, maybe I know more than I think I know (:
I was wondering with Cindy Crawford, if it was also the pointy-ness of her shoes or boots. It wasn’t uniform, of the photos that you showed, but maybe this fits into the tailored category.
Thanks for this video! Inspiring, and helped me to understood that Cindy's Crawford style is really MY style, and, Michele's and Graces definitely not 😅😅
Thanks Alyssa! Happy Mom's Day to all those nurturing souls out there! Interesting choices with these people...Cindy Crawford gets my vote for all around wearability and those baby blue flats really add something special. Not quite able to wrap my head around Mom's 2&3 but will revisit when I am in a different headspace for it! Thanks for sharing and all you bring to "your people!" Xo J

I think you nailed all those looks! I loved the slinky dress and kept saying, “Grab that big backpack/purse again!” Very creative!!😍

Thank your for your great inspirations every week. You're so awesome, Alyssa❤
Liked the video very much! for the grey dress, I also would have worn the fanny pack crossbody... but the big purse looked great
I Love the Last Outfit in Blur...soft easy going relaxed and nice. 🎉
I personally think that cool colors are more suitable for your style。Thank you so much for your sharing.
I love Grece Ghanem. She's beautiful and has an unexpected style. How about Diane Keaton?

Thanks Alyssa! Happy Mom's Day to all those nurturing souls out there! Interesting choices with these people...Cindy Crawford gets my vote for all around wearability and those baby blue flats really add something special. Not quite able to wrap my head around Mom's 2&3 but will revisit when I am in a different headspace for it! Thanks for sharing and all you bring to "your people!" Xo J
like first watch after ...haha I never do this except on your videos
Fun video!! Thanks! 😊
Great video! 🎉May I please ask where your cardigan is from? It’s gorgeous!
She said it was from Sezane!
The light teal/blue one is from Sezane! In a previous video she highlights it in a sponsorship with Sezane. :) Hope this helps
