I loved the menswear inspiration. As I am finding my style again in my 40s, I realize that I love to wear elevated but casual masculine tailored looks, mixed with chunky and eclectic jewelry (think Murano glass rings). The difference is I love color, but I can still mix and match my pieces because they are mostly in the fall color palette. BTW getting a color analysis gave me a new sense of confidence in my wardrobe, as well as what I don't choose to bring into it.
Alyssa! I watched this video in the morning and was inspired to pull out my green tailored trousers, which I dont wear often, and pair them with a cotton tee and open toed espadrilles, all of which I wouldn’t have put together without you. At lunch I received a “coolest pants of the day” compliment from the waiter! Made my day. ❤
Just a tiny suggestion. Switch up the button on the cream trousers to one that is the same colour as the trousers. The brown button limits it and the eye goes to the button regardless of what you style with it.
Thanks for talking it through with us. It really helps to hear your thought process and see that the outfit comes together gradually, not just on the first try!
Perfect video...mood board, you working out combinations. I've shared your channel with my fav second hand store in Denver and they are all fans too. Keep it up!!! Thank you.
Love watching your videos with my morning coffee, So many great ideas especially the Indiana Jones :) that I’ll be trying out loved the scarf tie, looked amazing :)
Thanks for another great video. Although this is not my particular style, I really appreciate how you talk us through what does and does not work. An example your last look, with white tailored pants, button up shirt and blazer. I knew it was not quite right, but would not have been able to say what it was. You changed the shoe and suddenly it was obvious! It comes naturally to you, but not to all of us. Just so you know, I refer to your advice so often. I am finding now I am retired and my lifestyle has changed, (more casual) I have struggled to redefine my style. You help so much. Thank you
I follow many fashion-leading UA-camrs, and you are the best. Thanks for the spot-on style suggestions as I love fashion and creating outfits that work to the last detail. And, your joyful energy is a pleasure to watch.
I absolutely love everything about this video! Truly do. You gave me so many excellent ideas for pieces I have that are still fitting me through maternity this summer. And the things I’m finding are more comfortable than my traditional wardrobe. I love this more masculine style/silhouettes with feminine touches. I’m finding this it’s just exactly what I like. Summer is a time when women tend to dress much more feminine and it’s just not quite me. I already feel very feminine being pregnant. I have found that not curling my hair with a hot iron, and just leaving it. A little undone and air dried is the perfect touch to this kind of style. When you’re wearing more structured pieces, the hair style itself can tone the outfit down, especially if you like to wear more fancy pieces! this has completely changed my look and it’s so much more convenient and time saving!
This is such a great subject because I have loss count on how many times I have looked at a menswear runway or seen a picture and thought that I would wear that look. I love how you grab stuff that not necessarily an item off the men's rack but that gave the same impression in your styling. I miss seeing kitty and she really getting her camera time in like back when she would be hanging out on the windowsill. Thanks for sharing and blessings to you and all in the days to come.
I just bought my first "thrifted" clothes item. I'm very happy and inspired by your thrifting videos. I live in Ireland but managed to get a Daks Lined Wool Blazer for $35. Thank you for inspiring me! 💕
This video and inspo literally defines my style! I’ve always gravitated towards the polished look of menswear. Thanks for showing the mix of masculine and feminine energy in the looks!
I love your videos, very inspiring. That app OpenWardrobe is a total game changer for me. Thank you for suggesting it. I’ve been trapped in a cycle of shopping on and off for years. This app has given me a fashion job to do instead of scrolling for the next new thing. Loading my closet and accessories into the app has fun. It’s still a work in progress but the process is showing me the things in my closet that I love. Making outfits from the clothes I already own has never been easier for me. Being able to save them is amazing. I knew I liked my clothes before, but would often get stuck coming up with new combos. I’m in love with my closet now thanks to the app. Thanks again!
Thank you for another inspirational video! I have a formal wedding to attend this summer. I am determined (excited even maybe? Lol) to forgo the easy but uninspired buying of a dress and shoes solely for the occasion. I will be making a look - all from my closet - grounded in some favourite black flowy trousers. Thank you for the continued great content and the lesson of style born of building a closet of classic, quality clothing that makes me feel my best. I continue to admire your stylish creativity, Carolyn
I seriously love menswear so so much, so this video was extremely helpful and relevant! Thank you for sharing your creativity with us and inspiring us to be more creative 😊
Agree with others - love watching your process. And your surprize when something unexpected works. A fun and educational idea for a future video is to go back to some of your previous outfits and see how they have stood the test of time (or not), and what you might change (or not) to make them current.
This is my favorite way to dress and I have no clue how to do this with my own closet - haha. Love this video and listening to you talk it out is SO helpful for identifying the elements of style!
Love your combinations of blue and beige. Suddenly our temperate in south California is about ,90 to 100 degrees around. So is well the southern border City Baja California that a jacket is a heavy structure. I add a black vest. And at least Sean's more polish work for a lunch Sunday @ a restaurant. I love your color ideas that you suggest to finish the day gathering with friends❤
It never occurred to me to pay any attention to what menswear was up to. But with my height, stature, and one of my style elements, it makes total sense. Thanks for this. Xoxo
Thank you for walking through what wasn't working and why and what to do differently. That is so helpful. I love menswear so these were winning looks for me.
Live those style share to us! Cause even though I don't have those garment pieces. It instantly reminds that Black sweater vest , at least I ad a light jacket for evening when it gets chill. Thanks Alyssa for those quick reminders
Omg I loved ALL those looks! Those are my style and I didn’t realize before the elements of the “masculine” styling I was pulling when I create outfits. So fun to realize. Thanks for showing how to tie the scarf- I struggle with that. Wonderful and helpful content as always!!
LOVED the menswear video!! I especially appreciate you sharing the reasons things work or don’t! I still want to buy stuff, but more and more I see you taking things from your closet and it motivates me to do the same 😉
Thanks for showing how to tie that scarf. I have one that size and never new how to tie it. Today I am going out and wearing my black tee, cream pants and either black flats or white sneakers. So fun.
I am so shocked, Alyssa! I absolutely loved these inspirational outfits so much. The Indiana inspired outfit was amazing. Also, when you created the outfit with the loafers at the beginning of the video, I could not believe the change in the overall styling, just by adding the neck scarf, beautiful. Now, I have to say, the walk through by the most handsome man of them all...Apollo. What a gorgeous big boy he is now. I would very much like more of these inspired videos. Sending ❤ from a very chilly Western Australia.
I’ve loved menswear and used this kind of inspo in my clothing my whole adult life. However, now I’m in my 40s and realized I need to level it up from the boyish way I used to dress. Plus people started asking me if I’m trans when that got mainstream, which I am NOT! Love being a woman. Got to find that nice balance of fem/masc and put a little effort into making more polished looks now. Thanks for all the inspo on your channel. This video especially helped.
This is so up my alley. I still haven't figured out my 3 words but menswear inspired is something I look for and feel comfortable with. I love the way you describe masculine and feminine contrasts. Also up my alley. Thanks for the great video!
Hi Alyssa, thank you so much for another great video. I'm in some kind of transition in my style lately and I found your work is so inspiring! My favourite is your video few weeks ago with your 2+2 formula. It's actually very surprising. I didn't think it would work but it does so well every single time. It's my go to rule nearly every day now, and I never heard about that before. You are pure genius 😊. Thank you so much for your hard work it is helping me in a big way!!! ❤
Very inspiring! And with every video of you I seem to understand a little bit better what all that means that you are talking about. And love to see Apollo walking by! 🥰
I always draw inspiration from womenswear and change the silhouette to make it more masculine. It can be elegant if done right. It keeps the look of menswear from being dull. Also, in terms of colors, I look at birds. They have the most natural and interesting color combination that work surprisingly.
I wish our weather allowed such beautiful structure. Our comfort index yesterday was 112. Tucking in a long sleeve shirt would be torture. I find summer the ultimate dressing challenge. A belt is about the only viable option for a layer 😀. Your videos are just so informative even when I have to wait for months to try out a look!
Love it Alyssa …the last look with the scarf very lovely and yes I like man inspiration…I don’t know if you floolow Emily Weahltly I think you will like her. Thank’s again I like when you play creative game each time I’m impress❤️
I discovered men's pants fit me much better than women's.... I love the more minimalist and structured look of men's wear and now regularly investigate the men's section when thrifting or visiting regular stores....
1st look: definitely not the loafers. Too masculine. 2nd shoe:👍👍right on! Love the theme of this video Alyssa! For me, the feminine touch doing this style makes all the difference. After all, we are women!
I've always thrifted the men's and boys section. Their clothes are usually MUCH better made. A soft worn-in cotton button down with a tank top under is my summer uniform. Love your borrowed from the boys styling ideas Alyssa! 🤍 🧢 ❤ 😘

I love watching your process for putting outfits together. It helps me in creating my own outfits.
Yes! Love to hear that! xx
Agreed
This has to be one of my favourites! So well done! Thank you 🙏
OMG those pics with the old classic men remind me SO much of what my Dad wore in the pictures when he was young! I love the classics!
Rocking it with the blazer and scarf additions! I love it when you surprise yourself. And the menswear angle is right en pointe.
I love watching shop your closet videos and also those when you copy celebrity outfits
Love the inspiration, totally adore the Indianna looks, also reminds me a little of old banana republic safari looks
Yes, I love this menswear inspired look. I think I naturally gravitate to this kind of look. Thank you.
I absolutely ADORE the androgenous look, I implement it in my everyday life, it's ny favorite and I'd love to see more ideas from you

Watching your process as you decide what proportions, shoes, etc. to use for each outfit is very helpful! You are a pro!
Black tee, tailored white trousers, short heeled sling backs nice twist on classic. SO me, with shoes being the tweek. Great tip ❤
Love Shop Your Closet videos - yay! That last look is😍👌🏽
I follow many fashion-leading UA-camrs, and you are the best. Thanks for the spot-on style suggestions as I love fashion and creating outfits that work to the last detail. And, your joyful energy is a pleasure to watch.

Oe! I'm going to try this kind of scarf tie, and I really enjoyed the tailoring + different type of inspiration, thanks!
Amazing one!!! A lot of high quality inspo 👌🏼🥰🥂

Hi Apollo! Great to see you. Alyssa, thank you for your great ideas! Have a great week. 😊
Love the scarf around the neck, makes such a difference. Thank you Alyssa.

Yay! Wonderful fashion styling and sense of humor...😊
Always my favourite series on your channel and beautifully done
Loved it ALL! Probably one of my favorites! Thank you for putting this together
It’s not Indiana Jones without the hat and the mission. 😂 Great video.
Always been a fan of Diane Keaton who borrows from the boys in her own unique way.
Love the mens wear inspiration! What a good idea. The men watching this will love it too. Thank you.

I'm a tall girrrl too, who has always loved menswear since selling it.....often superior quality to womenswear at same price
Love this men"s wear inspiration. I enjoy mixing masculine and feminine aspects to outfits. Well done, lets see this again sometime.
Thank you for walking through what wasn't working and why and what to do differently. That is so helpful. I love menswear so these were winning looks for me.
I love all the looks but last one is by far my favorite 😘.

Girl that blue blazer and blue shirt is a look of my dreams
I loved how you explained the looks. This is totally up my alley, so I was taking mental notes and tried to pair the looks with my wardrobe :)
Thanks for showing how to tie that scarf. I have one that size and never new how to tie it. Today I am going out and wearing my black tee, cream pants and either black flats or white sneakers. So fun.
oooh my pleasure xx
Love love love!!!
Hair up with last outfit! Looks younger and playful otherwise to heavy up top IMO 😊❤

I like men’s wear styling; clean, reverse triangle, neutral. I also like girly styling; ruffle, puff sleeve, chiffon.
I loved diving into the menswear inspiration. Also like it when you talk through your outfits and thought process 😊
I’ve loved menswear and used this kind of inspo in my clothing my whole adult life. However, now I’m in my 40s and realized I need to level it up from the boyish way I used to dress. This is totally up my style alley. Love the looks but that blue blazer?!?! … it’s fab!!!

Fantastic edition!! More shop your closet videos, please 🙏 I miss them ❤

Oh wow!! I absolutely love this styling!!! I guess i like a classic, tailored, minimal vibe!! This is all beautiful!!! 💯!!!
Wonderful!! So glad you like it!
Love the styling but here it’s 90 degrees. Can’t think about a blazer
I love it! Cara Alyssa, you are always so inspiring💖
These are my favorite types of your videos.
Love your shop your closet series as well. Very inspirational.
Love! So fun. So inspirational and instructive.
Love seeing you play in your closet even though my style is more relaxed and boho… That tweaking to get the right balance is so relatable!
I wish our weather allowed such beautiful structure. Our comfort index yesterday was 112. Tucking in a long sleeve shirt would be torture. I find summer the ultimate dressing challenge. Wow, Alyssa - brilliant 💕
Love gentlewoman style! ❤️
Love it Alyssa …the last look with the scarf very lovely and yes I like man inspiration…I don’t know if you floolow Emily Weahltly I think you will like her. Thank’s again I like when you play creative game each time I’m impress❤️
Thanks for another slow fashion video. I love your shop your closet content! This one was fun.
I discovered men's pants fit me much better than women's.... I love the more minimalist and structured look of men's wear and now regularly investigate the men's section when thrifting or visiting regular stores....
The Styling in this video really resonate with me since I have a more "masculine" style. Nice outfits.
Another great and inspirational video! You've given me so many ideas for shopping my closet; thank you!
I love that you pulled inspiration from men's style/fashion! Fantastic, as always, and still true to you :)
Such a fun video ❤ I have been inspired by Fred Astaire and Jimi Hendrix. It really makes your wardrobe seem more fun 🤩
Simply fantastic!!!!! 🤍🌻🌿
Brillant!❤
1st look: definitely not the loafers. Too masculine. 2nd shoe:👍👍right on! Love the theme of this video Alyssa! For me, the feminine touch doing this style makes all the difference. After all, we are women!
I love all of these looks.
I love these looks, but the blazers must wait for autumn. It's 100F here in Houston!
Thank you for doing a menswear inspired video - speaks to my three words!!!!!!
I just got a caramel blazer. I got this!
Loved your last outfit😍! I would totally wear this. Will see if I can recreate this at home. Xxx
You are brilliant! Thanks!
I've always thrifted the men's and boys section. Their clothes are usually MUCH better made. A soft worn-in cotton button down with a tank top under is my summer uniform. Love your borrowed from the boys styling ideas Alyssa! 🤍 🧢 ❤ 😘
Saved this video so that I can refer to it when I shop my closet!
Very stylish ❤
This gives me so much help in putting a look together, really good!
Oh yes!! Love, love - the breakdown, menswear, your process, the inspiration, all of it! ✨❤️
A very inspirational video. I love these looks!
