Not all of the builds go perfect. I heard the pin snap and I knew right away what it was. The transmission on the LTZ400 is a pain in the butt to re-assemble not the easiest engine to split.
If your replacing the crank I would do a top end also. Your putting a lot of time and money into the motor and a piston and rings are only $150 more to do. You don’t want to eat an old piston and ruin the motor. Plus the piece of mind as well as the performance is well worth it
I just bought a ltz400 and it’s in decent shape and I only gave 1500 it didn’t run but I got it working but the guy never said it had a cracked case and it leaks oil but there is jb on a place on the case where it looks like oil leaks, how much would it cost to split the case and get a new one or is it better to just put jb on it or I’ve even had people tell me to weld it, what should I do in your opinion, I don’t have much money put into it and I’m debateing if I should sell it or keep it but the crack in the case is keeping me from wanting to keep it
Look on eBay for a set of cases. It’s not hard to do just make sure you have all the special tools to do it. And down load the repair manual. I have a PDF file of the manual. If you email me I will send it to you.
When the case is split it’s going trough all the gears but when I closed it it’s only going trough 1 & 2 and neutral is it going to be like that? Everything seems to be according to the manual as well
@@ahmedfreih334 Your second trans shaft must not be assembled properly. You should be able once assembled to spin the output shaft (where the sprocket mounts) with your fingers and shift thur all the gears. If you can’t then you have it assembled wrong or you have bent or broken something during the assembly

Your transmission was probably assembled incorrectly. You will need to split the cases again. Down load the repair manual and follow the assembly drawings
Been looking for a good informative video of the engine and you have a whole series very thankful 🙏
Glad this video series can help you!
I'm really enjoying watching you rebuild, keep up the great work.
Thanks, I really enjoy doing the rebuilds. Much more to come.
Pissa job! That came out wicked mint! Now let's go to Friendly's and get some clam-chow-duh!
Nice job, this is why I love your channel you show the good and bad when working on motors. Very real life.

My new favorite channel.
Spread the channel and thanks for watching.
Is it best to build the top end with the bottom end ?

@@RCBGarage i appreciate your feedback a lot, do you have to take the motor out of the frame or is it possible to keep it there in the frame
@bopboy7931 you have to remove the engine. It’s bolted thru both the and frame in three places. It has to come out.
@@RCBGarage is that an easy thing to do? Does it take a long time

You sound be able to find all the gears when you put the haves together
@@RCBGarage do you know what the problem could be?

Great content 👌, can you tell me where to buy the magnet puller and size thanks.

My LTZ pushes oil out of dip stick any idea what it could be ?
Make sure the oil isn’t overfilled. Massive blow by can cause it also.
What parts would I need to rebuild the engine on a 05 ltz 400
What are you rebuilding, Top end only ? Top and bottom end? Once apart inspect everything and replace worn or broken parts.
I bought the piston and gaskets and the clutch because the old piston would leak oil and white smoke would come out of the exhaust
@@damiantafolla9828 do valve seals also.
How many valve seals would I need to get?
