Instructions
00:00 Introduction
00:26 Preheat oven to 450F (230C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
00:32 Melt your butter and set it aside so it can begin to cool.
00:45 In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and garlic powder.
01:44 In a separate bowl (or in a large measuring cup) whisk slightly cooled butter into buttermilk (it’s OK if the butter begins to re-solidify or the mixture looks curdled).
02:10 Pour buttermilk mixture into flour mixture and stir until just-combined.
02:23 Use a spoon or spatula to gently stir cheese into batter until incorporated.
02:51 Using a pair of spoons, drop batter by heaping spoonfuls (about 3 Tbsp in size) onto prepared baking sheet, spacing at least 2” apart.
03:11 Transfer to 450F oven and bake for 10-12 minutes or until light golden brown.
03:21 Meanwhile, prepare topping by whisking together butter, garlic powder, and dried parsley.
03:38 When biscuits are finished baking, brush generously with butter mixture (use a pastry brush, or if you don’t have one simply spoon some of the butter on top of each biscuit).
03:53 Serve warm.

I made these and they were delicious! I used a cookie sheet and cookie scoop to make 24 biscuits.
I’m glad you enjoyed them! 😊😊
Made these tonight for dinner. Let's just say I saved this recipe for the future. They were SO GOOD! Your video on making buttermilk helped me out a lot too. I even made my own home made old bay seasoning from a recipe I found on someone else's channel since we can't get that in Canada. My family has been so impressed with my cooking lately and I have you to thank for it. Well, they always liked my cooking, but now I am getting so many compliments. The only down side is they make me cook every day now. But I am not complaining, because I am eating good! :D
That is so awesome! Thank you very much for your kind comment. It’s comments like these that really keep me going. Thank you so much. I’m so glad you are enjoying everything. 😊😊
@@SugarSpunRun You're welcome. I'm enjoying them almost too much. If I am not careful I am going to put on some weight. Your channel is dangerous Sam. lol
😂😂😂 thank you!
These are literally SO good. I make these once a week. Such an easy recipe.
That's awesome! I'm so happy you like my recipe 🙂
Made these yesterday, they turned out great.
Super easy to make too. Definitely 5 out of 5 stars.
Thank you so much! I’m so glad you enjoyed them! 😊
I ate two right after they came out from the oven, these are so good and so easy to make, thank you Sam.
I’m so glad you enjoyed them so much! 😊
I made these to go with my Cajun sausage and potato crockpot meal. All the flavors together between the biscuits and the meal was heavenly.
Thanks for the recipe!♥️
O that sounds awesome! I’m glad you enjoyed them. 😊😊
Wow such a unique recipe😍 can't wait to try!
I hope you love them!
OH and I could buy Old Bay here in Oswego NY at my local Walmart :-D
OHH, what have we here! Here we go. I'm SO making these! lol
Hope you love them 😊
haven't made these yet but I really appreciate your biscuit recipe. Just made it this am with my toddler and about to eat my third (after working out!) I would really like a recipe for a sausage cheese scallion biscuit--it would be a complete breakfast! thanks!
Thank you so much! I will add it to my list of things to try to perfect. :)
Hi, i'm from Indonesia. I just made these, and it tasted wonderful and very easy to make. I didn't use the exact recipe, because i try to use whatever left in my pantry such as margarin, milk, and only a cup of regular cheddar cheese. Also the portion is perfect for my family little family. Thanks.
I’m so glad everyone enjoyed it!! 😊
I made these yet again and as soon as I poured in that cup of buttermilk, I knew I had made a mistake. It ended up a delicious mistake because I just doubled the recipe. They came out perfect. :-D
I know, I know, I've so many of your recipes that I have yet to make for the first time. Next.
I'm thinking I will have to revisit the chili recipe.
Only a double batch?! That wouldn't last very long in my house. ;) I'm glad you enjoyed them. :)
I I tried this recipe and honestly it was really good easily a 5 star
I'm so glad you enjoyed them so much! :)
Sam, waiting for your version of red velvet cake. After trying your chocolate, vanilla and carrot cakes, I dont want to try anybody else's recipes...you are awesome..😀
I know I’m working on it. I have tried many times and I’m just not happy with it. I will get it one day, don’t worry. 😊😊
Thank you Sam..
I made them, and I love them! The cheddar I had wasn't as chunky as we would have wanted and next time I will cut up my own. But so far you are batting 1000!
I'm so glad you liked them! Thanks for trying my recipes 😊
@@SugarSpunRun I got to say I am very impressed with how well you do things. When I look at your recipes they are structured so neatly. And I love that I can print them.
You're my go-to person for about anything baking related! ❤️
Hey Sam! These look great and I would like to try making them but I never have buttermilk on hand because I just don't use it enough to make it worth buying. I hear you can make it with normal milk and lemon juice which I always have on hand. Would you happen to know the ratio of milk to lemon juice you need to use to make buttermilk that would work in this recipe? :)
I actually have a recipe for it. I will also update the description to include it. 😊 sugarspunrun.com/easy-buttermilk-substitute/
@@SugarSpunRun Sweet thanks!
We use to make those biscuits cheese at the culinary arts
I looovvvvee biscuits!
What a super simple recipe!! Question - if I make the biscuits half that size, do I cook them for the same amount of time?
If you make them smaller they will need to bake for less time.
@@SugarSpunRun Thank you for the quick reply!! You're the best!!
Do you have a hashtag that you keep track of?
Sorry I missed this. I do have a few @sugarspun_sam

😊😊 I look forward to seeing your creations!
Do these have to be stored in the fridge or is room temperature okay? Also, will mild cheddar work in place of sharp cheddar? A couple of my friends say the taste of sharp cheddar is too strong.
These can be stored at room temperature in an air tight container. You can certainly use mild cheddar if that is your preference. :)
I've a question. I typically make all my measurements level, is that how you do it? Or are, say, your teaspoons rounded, or perhaps sort of rounded? Thanks in advance.
Definitely level 😊
My husband ate half of them in one sitting while I was cooking dinner. These are dangerous.
😂😂 I have the same problem! 😂😂 I’m glad he enjoyed them.
Wait so we add butter to buttermilk?? I want to make these for family dinner but I had that one question
Yup. 😊
🙌😋👍😋🙌😋👌😋💕💃!!!!!!!
mmm
Great recipe..
Can i use processed (mozerella) cheese, instead of cheddar cheese?
Sure. :)
@@SugarSpunRun many thanks for the reply...🧡
