9-3-23 Made these using Einkorn Berries that I ground myself. They were great. All our eaters really appreciate the simple ingredients. Big thumbs down to recipes using GUMS for this EZ biscuit recipe. The gums are not kind to every body. We are having fun retraining our mouth to love the texture & flavor of simple USA foods from days gone by. Can't wait to do it again. Many blessings for the work you do.

I’ve been making these for years and years, but I take an even bigger shortcut and use Bisquick..lol Just add water and cheese, then brush with garlic butter. I always infuse my butter with garlic..:)
I saw a recipe that said to use pasta flour to make biscuits. Some fancy restaurant in New Orleans uses it and the biscuits are supposed to be amazing. Never heard of using pasta flour before. I thought I might try it. Your thoughts ?????????????????

Yes! I would shape my drop biscuits into little balls (use the back of a spoon to spread the dough) and then freeze on a sheet pan. Once they are frozen you can take off the sheet pan and place in a zipper bag.

Yes you can. Use the same amount of Self-Rising flour as the recipe calls for All-Purpose flour but reduce your Baking Powder to 1 tsp and omit the salt.
While frying probably would not work well, if you can't use an oven and really want them, you might try a large skillet with a tight fitting lid... if you have one. Hopefully, if you cooked them on medium to low heat, this would create a kind of stovetop oven. Can't promise it will work for these, but this technique works well for some things. Good luck!🙏

All purpose flour is the same as what you would call “plain flour”. I give weight measurements for everything in the video and in the written recipe (linked in the description) so it doesn’t matter if you don’t have sticks of butter! Use the weight given. Use a cheese you like!

It's expected that the dough will stick to the spoon. If you want, you can spray the spoon with cooking spray to prevent sticking. I usually just use my fingers to scrape off the excess dough left on the spoon.
That might be the culprit! Mozzarella has quite a bit more moisture than cheddar so it probably created a gummy texture. For that reason I don't recommend adding mozzarella to the batter.
I gave cups AND grams so that everyone can use the recipe. Literally every country outside the US weighs their ingredients, because it's easier and more accurate. My audience is all over the world. If you don't want to use the grams, just use the cups. That's why I gave both!

You will need to double the entire recipe to make more biscuits.
The biscuits turned out nice, I think the next time I’ll use a little more salt. I guess my cheese isn’t as salty.

Warm or cold milk?
Everything should be cold when doing biscuits.
I only found the unbleached flour in the store. Would it be too dense for this biscuits?
You can definitely use it! I only use unbleached flour in all my baking unless I'm baking a cake!
