If you want more of that, there is the official live recording during a concert when they were on tour. It is fantastic watching the crowd react. And if you think that was bad; when Home Free released this "Sea Shanty Medley" during the lock down and it went viral, the game company Ubisoft saw it and was so impressed by them that they reached out to Home Free and asked if they would be interested in creating an original song for their game (which was in development) Skull and Bones. Of course they jumped on that and their one and only sea shanty enthusiast, Adam Chance stepped up and wrote an absolute master piece. Ubisoft introduced them and their song at the Summer Game Fest 2023, along with the lyric video which is what we had until now. They finally released their official music video of their original Sea Shanty, "Skull & Bones". This video incorporates elements of the game into the story depicted in the video. Well worth the wait, love it. What an epic original sea shanty by Chance and Home Free. Absolutely a must watch. They released an album of songs they did on the Sing Off in 2013 (which they won). Cruise, Life is a Highway, Ring of Fire, Colder Weather, Pretty Woman, I Want Crazy and Stand By Me. That ought to get you started on the Home Free rabbit hole. But there is SO much more. They are masters of all genres. Their covers are upgrades, their medleys are brilliant, their collaborations with the original artists are inspirational, and their original songs are masterpieces. They can do just about anything and they continue to grow and improve, yet they remain so humble. When they have featured guest artist, they support and allow their featured artists to shine. Several of them have their own channels and do some solo work. And just for fun Rob and Austin sing Opera. What else can I say? Their catalogue of work is quite large and continues to grow. You are in for an exciting journey and the Home Fries will be there for you all the way.
On some date around mid-June 2017 an outdoor Home Free concert was interrupted, then ended by a severe and unexpected rain/thunder storm. The guys followed many of the concert goers to a tent to wait out the storm in hopes of continuing, with no luck. So the guy of Home Free decided to gift their fans with one last song, with no mics, no set, and no special lighting. Many in the crowd recorded them on their phones as they sang so there are many videos from many different angles and distances back. Their rendition of How Great Thou Art in Kearney, MO on 6/17/2017 is one of the most beautiful, amazing, and simple pieces they've ever done. I've saved seven videos, plus four of my favorite reactions to it. I think you'll enjoy the ones you can find.
I think the best recording of the Kearney performance, in terms of sound, is the one from more or less behind Austin. It really IS stunning when you stop to think about the conditions. "Home Free: off-mic HOW GREAT THOU ART"
Also listen so some of their older stuff . . . Hillbilly Bone, Delta Dawn, Helplessly Hoping, Workin For A Livin , End of The Road . . . just a few too get you started.
Good call, this was done during lockdown. You would make a great Home Fry, hope you will join us! HF does a live in concert video of the medley, it's great!
The group started in 2001 by brothers Chris and Adam Rupp They won The Sing Off season 4 2013 that's where they became very popular. They are the only country A Capella ( all vocals no instruments)group but they are honestly do so so much more than just country music they can sing any genre and they do. There is no Lead singer in the group. They each ( except Adam )sing the song and who’s ever voice or voices sound right for the song gets the lead unless is a bass/ baritone song then that’s Tim or Chance.A lot of time they each have a part in the song. Fans of Home Free are known as Home Fries and are very loyal to the guys. Adam Rupp: Beatboxer Extraordinaire can make any sound imaginable (A whole drum kit, harmonica (his Nomonica we call it )plane flyovers, trains, castanets, bugs ,birds etc).Co founder from Mankato Minnesota. Welcome to the rabbit hole! HF has fantastic covers and equally fantastic originals. So many genres, so many 'lead' singers, such talent, and such truly great guys. Enjoy!
Yes, this was done during the pandemic. It went viral and attracted the game maker Ubisoft to them. They asked HF to write a new shanty for their game Skull and Bones. Check it out. It’s a great banger of a shanty. There’s also a live version of this shanty you can see. Home Free put out a lot of content during Covid and they were so clever filming on their phones. Skull and Bones, Folsom Prison Blues, Brothers in Arms. 😍😀😃
Some of my favorites are Listen to the Music, End of the Road, Butts Medley, Country Fried Pop Medley, Brothers in Arms and Go Rest High on that Mountain. You can't go wrong with anything by them, though!
How good are these guys? The fun & energy in this is infectious. This was done during quarantine so none of the guys were even together. The editing of this was great & was done in the Tik Tok style. Love all the guys parts, with Tim's rumbling bass underlying it all. And Adam's beatboxing is phenomenal as always including sea swells & castanets. Amazing how he increased the tempo from one song to another. They recently released a professional live recording of this medley.
It was done during the lockdown. The beatboxer is Adam (in white here with spikey hair), the Gregorian sound from Man Of Constant Sorrow was the main lead singer in this one Chance is his name (or Adam Chance but most call him Chance not to get the 2 Adams mixed up.) and he's their baritone, but also can sing bass. Tim is the super bass, He's the guy in the Jack Sparrow outfit here, you can hear his rumble bass clearly in this song. He does have a rare 5- octave range and can sing very low to very high as well. Rob is the big bearded guy with glasses, He is their lower tenor and has a very smooth voice, and up high in the rafters is their high tenor Austin (in the red outfit), He sang lead in Man Of Constant Sorrow and he can do some amazing vocal riffs and has very powerful vocals. If you read all of this I'd like to request another one they did during those times it's a classic Johnny Cash song called "Folsom Prison Blues." Thanks!
Yes, they made this during lockdown. They actually made several wonderful videos during that time, including "Flowers on the Wall" "Down To the Honkytonk" and "Quarantine" as well as several others. Home Free is a great rabbit hole to go down! You should also check out some of their covers such as In the Blood, Life Is a Highway, Hillbilly Bone, Listen to the Music and some of their funny ones such as Butts Remix. That one is absolutely hilarious and shows our guys sense of humor. Enjoy the journey and you'll pick up many subscribers along the way, as we follow the reactors that take care of our guys pretty closely. Peace and love from Kentucky! Tim Foust- Bass (but can sing tenor) Adam Rupp- Founding member and Beat boxer Rob Lundquist- Tenor (dark hair, full beard) Austin Brown- High Tenor (slender, beard) Adam Chance- baritone Occasionally in older videos you may see Chris Rupp, Adam's brother and the other founding member (such as in videos from the Sing Off) however, he left and was replaced by Adam Chance.
I've subscribed. I'm 70 and ADORE these boys! They are kind, inventive and GREAT FUN!! WATCH THIS MEDLEY LIVE!!! They don't take themselves too seriously and produce some real fun videos. Butt's Medley etc. You are about to embark on the ride of your life. Best thing is their audiences can cover 4 generations. They call their concerts... parties ... and they really are. Nana Karen UK
Honestly, you can’t go wrong with any of the songs. For feel good music - Love Train, Listen to the Music, Brother, Life is a Highway, Folsom Prison Blues, the Butts Medley, Country Fried Pop Medley…so, so many

Nice reaction G. In order to make your channel grow try very hard to put out 3+ videos per day consistently for awhile. The volume will help your exposure and your algorithms. It’s a lot of work but the payoff is there. You are good and genuine reactor. Try hard for the consistency and to pump out the content.
Welcome to the rabbit hole new Home Fry. Subbed, liked, and while I have my favorite songs, I also am a fairly new fry, so I will leave the recommendations to others.
If you love this one you so should check out their live performance of this song plus if you want to see a chance pirate video you so need to check out skull and bones. The sea shanty was filmed one their phones during lockdown when they couldn't be in the same place. You should check out some of the live videos on youtube that fans have taken at there concerts.
Yes during Covid, please react to their live version of this song. You will see that they are just as good live as recorded. It was Adam Chance (Known as Chance because there are two Adams) who made that sound (Gregorian sound) in the last song All the guys are good at making different sounds but Adam Rupp is the beatboxer who carries the group.
Homefree members are Austin Brown high tenor, lead tenor Rob Lundquist, their beatboxer and one of the founding members of the group who helped start it Adam Rupp doing are the cool sounds their baritone/bass Adam chance Known to us homefries as Chance so their is no confusion since there's 2 Adam's in the group and last their Bass Tim Foust. Chance,Austin, and Tim have solo channels you should check also if someone hasn't I think I should let you know in the fall Austin is leaving homefree so if you can see them live near you I highly recommend doing so.
You should check out All About The Bass, The Butts Remix, Country Fried Pop and a live performance of Guilty Pleasures. These al, show their comedic sides. Have fun.
Line up time!!! The beatboxer is Adam Rupp, co-founder of the group. (He starred the group in 2000 with his brother Chris, Chris left the group in mid 2016) The "gregorian chant" you heard was Tim Foust, the bass singer (dressed like Jack Sparrow) doing the bass line though he does have a lovely upper range. Next is Adam Chance, (known as Chance) the baritone that can also do bass (He was the first one you saw in the video. Most times will be wearing a hat. Next is Rob Lundquist tenor with alot of versatility. (Beard and glasses) and last but not least is Austin Brown, high tenor. (Red shirt and sword) who can sing in pure tones.
I caught you today and am now a new sub. You gave us a good reaction, and I’m ready for more!! I will also listen to other groups/solo artists to hear a variety of what you like. 🎶 Cyd
The live concert version of this is great, too. I suggest their cover of Stand By Me or their recent original Playing With Fire. The vocal percussionist extraordinaire is Adam Rupp. For a really good look at his abilities within the group, try their cover of the Doobie Brothers' iconic Listen to the Music. There are also many videos of his concert "drum solo". I've seen them live twice and his solo knocked me out both times. This is one of my favorites: ua-cam.com/video/pZz6uhEzSSY/v-deo.htmlsi=R_Gu77dpfqyV70ak He now uses a looper so he can layer the drums AND sing and harmonize with himself. Simply amazing.
Love their sea shanty's. These boys are amazing. You need to check out Skull and Bones. This was done during lockdown. They have so many great songs. CK out their latest version of Ring of Fire and Stand By Me❤️❤️❤️❤️
There are 3 versions of Skull and Bones. The lyric version with lots of footage from the game, the much shorter live version introduced at the Ubisoft meeting and movie-type version. My favorite is the live version - you see who’s doing what & Tim and opera Rob shine!😊
Your next should be Boyz2Men cover of End of the Road, The Butts Medley or Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget. Looking forward to more Home Free reactions.
Nearly all of their songs are acapella. Occasionally they have instruments, but you’ll always see them being played. So far all percussion is beatboxing with no real drums being played. This song is an example of one that’s not quite full acapella since Chance is “playing” the guitar, or at least the back of the guitar. And now that I think of it, he’s playing it at percussion so there is at least East one song with non-beatboxing percussion.
If you want more of that, there is the official live recording during a concert when they were on tour. It is fantastic watching the crowd react. Have to do the Butt's Medley...they do country, rap, and rock in that one.

You ain’t heard nothing yet, they really are great, saw them in England last year, so many I could recommend but you will find them for yourself.

This song is an example of one that’s not quite full acapella since Chance is “playing” the guitar, or at least the back of the guitar. And now that I think of it, he’s playing it at percussion so there is at least
East one song with non-beatboxing percussion.
