    was expecting Eddie Cummings defence, then Gary ends up showing another way to address the heal hooks. Very nice. More so what is the most immediate danger, and how to counter off of it, that is the best kind of jiu jitsu.

    At 3:34 even Garry goes to Lachlans Outside Sankaku ( or 90/10)
    So seems to be very legit and getting part of the new meta game 😁

      DDS has been triangling legs from 50/50 for years (both offensively and defensively).. no disrespect to Lachy, but let's not pretend he came up with the position.. (he doesn't claim to.. he simply made his own system around it)

      I visited several seminars from Nicky Ryan, Oliver Taza, Aaron Millam and Ethan Crenelisten in the last 3 years. They showed lots of detailed high level stuff from Saddle, Outside Ashi, Ashi Garami and Reverse Ashi which helped me a lot. But not even once something like 80/20 or 90/10.
      Maybe they knew that but didnt't got it to work that well.
      Never said Lachlan was the first who invented it but he was the first who shocked the world with it (it's probably the same case with Kimura, Darce, and Van Flue)

    • @shnizzyshnizzy7552
      @shnizzyshnizzy7552 4 роки тому +5

      @@highsoflyify don't doubt this at all, they are known to prefer inside sankaku and unless things have changed, valued 50/50 lowest on totem pole.. all i was insinuating was that Garry going to that position in this scenario, more than likely has nothing to do with Lachy's recent success at the position.. and i know you weren't claiming he invented it, people have been triangling legs at 50/50 forever - even before the leg lock game exploded.. like i said, no disrespect to Lachy, he's a monster and clearly his system works

    • @ChipsterSwag
      @ChipsterSwag 4 роки тому +3

      @@shnizzyshnizzy7552 I remember many interviews and podcast of DDS guys literally saying they try to avoid 50/50. Why would Garry show a position here if they usually would avoid it... just doesn´t make sense.

    • @highsoflyify
      @highsoflyify 4 роки тому +6

      @@ChipsterSwag
      That's what they said aswell in all seminars.
      "Why should you go for 50/50 If you can be way more dominant in other leg entanglements?"
      Which makes totally sense If you don't see 50/50 as transition or set up to way more dominant positions like 80/20 and 90/10 (outside Sankaku)
      First guy I ever saw using 90/10 was Jon Calestine calling it "K-Legs" just a short time before ADCC in June 2019. So Lachlan isn't the inventor or the only one who used it for sure but he saw a hole in most peoples leglock game (even world class blackbelts) and got a lot of attention and success with it. I'm sure next ADCC everybody knows a lot more about 80/20 and 90/10

      A thorough knowledge of heel hooks is still a very valuable tool to have. These two can work well to understand how the offensive, defensive, and counter-offensive cycles work together.

  • @death4127

    You defend it by turning face down, and pushing down his legs and stacking into the standing position. Watch vinny do it to garry and gordan.

    • @snipsel
      @snipsel 4 роки тому

      You mean to defend the inside heelhook counter, Garry shows here? When you watch closely you will see there is already a full locked inside heelhook while Bernardo still is turning with the motion against his own knee. No turn and backwards stacking in time in this case

    • @shnizzyshnizzy7552
