Who Did Captain REX Contact on Bracca? - Star Wars: The Bad Batch

- After helping the members of the Bad Batch remove their inhibitor chips and stop Wrecker from wreaking absolute havoc, Captain Rex went outside of the Venator med bay on Bracca to make a call. On Rex’s comms device, a mysterious voice can be heard and Rex agrees to Rendezvous with him… So who is Rex in contact with? Lets dive into it!
The first major option that Rex may have contacted is Commander Wolffe, former Commander of the 104th battalion, also known as the Wolf Pack. Thanks to a line that Rex said when taking out Wrecker’s inhibitor ship in the venator, we know that Wolffe and also Gregor, don’t yet have their chips out Rex said “I’ve never been on this side of it before”, meaning he hasn’t yet had the chance to help his brothers out. This would make Wolffe a perfect candidate, as we know it has to happen relatively soon.
Now it is possible that because Wolffe’s chip is in, that it did activate and he is still serving the Empire, and therefore would not be in conact with Rex. But there is one thing that points against this.
During the Battle of Khorm, Commander Wolffe fought alongside the Wolfpack to capture an agrocite production facility for the Republic, against fierce separatist resistance. During the battle, Wolffe came face to Face with Sith Assassin Asajj Ventress, who proceeded to swiftly slash him across the face, taking out his right eye, and leaving untold damage to the surrounding area. The commander was then forced to get a new, cybernetic eye to replace his old one and to fix up the damage done to the right side of his head.
The forceful swipe to Wolffe’s head by Ventress may have caused damage to his inhibitor chip, especially since it’s on the exact same side as where he took the hit, and is eerily close to the scar left by her blade. This could mean that he did manage to refuse Order 66, because his chip didn’t compel him to follow it, making it very possible that he was the one in contact with Rex.
Rex did also mention that “it was rare for a clone not to be immune to the chip”... The way he said it really did make it sound like he already knows of some other cases where this happened, again strongly pointing to Wolffe or Gregor, or even a brand new clone who we haven’t met yet… If Rex hadn’t seen any cases of the chips not working before, he'd surely be way more shocked and even call it impossible, but instead he brushes it off, meaning he probably has seen it before.
The only thing that possibly points away from it being Wolffe is that it has been implied by the Writers of Star Wars: Rebels that Wolffe may have actually followed Order 66 and had his behaviour modified to follow any order by the Republic. This isn’t confirmed whatsoever, but it could be the case…
So that leads us straight to the next option, Commando Gregor.
Wolf or Gregor… but I still really want to see the man, the myth, the legend, Hondo Ohnaka

Fordo sadly remains in Legends now, and in Legends inhibitor chips weren't a thing.

When Rex talks about it being rare to resist the effects of the inhibiter chip, I believe he might just be talking about Cut Laquain the clone deserter. (I have no clue in how to spell his name)

It look like Wolffe and Gregor already remove their chip just before Bad batch, next clone will be Cody where Rafa and Trace martez will find him and remove his chip.
What if Rex is talking to Captain Fordo. And since Fordo hasn't gotten any attention since his 2003 animated appearance maybe we could see him and Rex in a few episodes. If it is Fordo maybe he could have some episodes of major character development in season 2 and possibly even see him sacrifice himself saving Rex, Wolffe, and Gregor. Maybe he does this fighting Cody and the 212th. I know im wildly speculating here but it would be great to see my man Fordo. He IS an arc trooper afterall.

I can see the Bad Batch intertwining with ’Ahsoka’ at some point maybe showing us that Ahsoka was setting up her network & having it in place to make her transition easier…maybe between chapters 14 & 15…using Anakin’s subspace frequency Fulcrum.

I am pretty sure Rex is in contact with Saw Garrera because he was talking about meeting in the next rendezvous which is also indicated earlier in episode 3 of the bad batch that Saw Garrera moves to different places frequently to avoid empire. As seen in rebels they knew each other really well and it was mentioned that they work together during the early days of the empire.
Slight mistake, there were originally 8 clones meant to be on the AT-TE. Good breakdown, really enjoyable. Please keep up the good work.

Might be a continuity error. Vader had storm troopers with him when he went there.
One could say the empire was already producing the new storm trooper armor and his soldiers were the first to get it. It could also be that when the ship went missing, he was assumed dead.

I have a theory we’re gonna see the Kamino rebellion. Bad batch and Rex go to Kamino and help as many clones as possible (Gregor,Wolf) I think they fight off Crosshair some of the bad batch die. They probably sacrifice themselves for Omega. Rex,Wolf,Gregor maybe Omega make it out.
I wonder where Cody, Rafa and Trace Martez going after cody's inhibitor chip was remove, maybe they going meets up with Rex, Omega, wolffe and Gregor in Season 2.

I can safely say this unknown person Rex was talking to was unlikely Gregor or Cody and very unlikely to be Commander Wolffe. Perhaps this person is someone else who was close to Rex whether they were a clone or someone else.
The clones I'm hoping for are these below:
Gregor, we need more action of him.
Wolffe, I'd really love to see him again.
Doom, I'd also like to see more action of him in battle.

Another thing I thought was interesting is Rex insinuated that there were other clones who resisted Order 66. I don’t remember exactly how he worded it, but that’s the way I interpreted it.
Hasbro revealed a few days ago a new Clone Captain that will appear on Bad Batch, by the name of Ballast, it most likely was this captain

Would it be possible that Rex was talking to Saw Gerrera as we see in Star Wars Rebels, Rex was unsteady with Gerrera coming back and "helping" Tell the crew of the Ghost that he is dangerous. Then when Erza and Sabine returned back to the Ghost they both got in trouble for being with Gerrega. I hope we do see the what causes Rex and Gerrega to split in Bad batch as in Star wars Rebels it seemed pretty serious. But I could be reading far too much into it. It's just my thoughts not saying it'll happen.

I really hope this series will eventually touch on Commander Cody. Ever since they announced the show the bad batch, I couldn’t help but wonder if they would finally let us know what happened to Cody. Maybe Cody would be given a chance to redeem himself after shooting down his beloved general Kenobi. And as much as I like Ahsoka, I really don’t want her in this show. She has had enough actions in the clone wars as her as her own spin off show, her appearance would only steal the thunder from other characters!
Yep, we definitely need some closure on Cody's fate in Canon! I wonder if they'll follow his legends story 🤔
A lot of people said that if Cody was redeemed, it'll ruin his character because the whole point of Cody was that he was this "perfect, by-the-book, and extremely loyal" clone. If Cody does appear in the show, he'll most likely stay on the Empire's side.
I think wolf will be in the next episode leading the imperial forces where the bad batch knock him out remove his chip scavenge a AT walker to fight back and by the end wolf finds a way off world to join rex and ends up finding him on the planet we see in rebels

I'm going with Saw. As we know, Saw becomes a more & more hard core radical as time progresses. How else would Rex turn away & not want to become involved in the rebellion until Rebels???
@@mksaber170 Saw seems like the most likely option because wolffe likely executed order 66, gregor is possible but unknown, other clone commandos like omega squad didn’t follow order 66 but rex never met them that I am aware of so Saw seems like the most logical choice
