Last story, Mr. Princess: Forget chivalry - it's common courtesy (or if I'm a crotchety old bag, it used to be). If you pick a place to take someone for their birthday, of course they don't pay. Whether it's your friend, BF/GF, family member, co-worker; whomever. I'd like to suggest he & brozo from stories 3/4 would get along fine. And their (soon to be, if not already) ex GFs can bond over war stories & become besties.

Wait - the broken window story: if the dad was showering at the time the son was playing with the baseball, he would’ve heard the glass shatter. That is quite a distinctive loud sound. Dad would’ve noticed the window broken as he came down to drive his son to go out if the son had done it. The son had an alibi when the damage was discovered, and therefore couldn’t have done it. Also the brick would’ve been on the inside of the window after being thrown through and surrounded by the shattered window glass. Unless OP removed this piece of evidence. I’m basically saying the dad is pretty gullible for thinking it must’ve been his son because the supposed weapon on the window was his baseball. OP could’ve even thrown the baseball instead of the brick. I would’ve investigated further, especially as the son was so very adamant that it wasn’t him. I rest my case.

If you go out to eat with someone and order lavishly expecting them to pay is disrespectful and dehumanizing to anyone regardless of their gender or relationship to you. Unless they specifically say “order what ever you want dinner is on me tonight” and honestly even then not considering their financial situation is so rude it shows you don’t think about the other person.

So I feel that could possibly explain that guy a bit and would make me hope he could get help for it before he ruins the remainder of his life's relationships.
