Since the manor house doesn't have any dependencies on roads / supply movement I don't see any issues with setting it off the side as it won't change the mechanics of the challenge. Plus when you factor in manor expansion it would be awkward to have it on the main.

I really struggle with the amount of free workers pop. How are you able to get so many free workers in your game play?
I always seem to be at o just to keep up with my production of the basics.

I have about 45 hours played so I have learned it. Mainly though, it's about ensuring your storage buildings are setup correctly!
