This is the start of my wonderful tavern I am building in Crossroads Inn (ep1)
A medieval world... A Tavern to run.... lets get ready to step into the shoes of a medieval entrepreneur! I am going to build my very
own tavern from the ground up. As the owner, i'll be responsible for everything..... from designing the layout to hiring staff and managing finances.
So, sit back, grab a mug of ale, and let's start building your dream tavern!
Crossroads Inn is a real-time management sim with role-playing games elements. The game consists of two unique modes offering totally different experiences.
In Sandbox mode gamers will focus solely on managing their business and economy - to build their very own tavern, hire and oversee staff, manage the supply chains and create new dish recipes. In Campaign mode, micromanagement is just a prelude to a rich story as the kingdom is in turmoil and a shift of power is expected. Your Inn will soon attract the attention of important political and military figures, who are desperately trying to hold on to the reins of power. Gamers will become part of a large-scale drama full of political intrigues, vivid characters, treacherous NPC’s and dangerous quests inspired by RPG games - You will even have a damsel in distress to save!

    Needs to remove the cost element, and remove the pack stations/trade posts from having market stalls. Storehouses and granary already does the market stall, the trade post should simply allow trading at the trade post for any passing merchant, be they internal/friendly or off-map.

    From the patch notes: "Each good type now has a switch that disables trading it with Free Merchants / Tradepoints in case the players wants to only trade with another Region. The displayed import price will adjust dynamically, showing the lowest possible price found (and NA or not available if there is no good of this type anywhere to be found)." Whether you set up a Trading Post or Pack Station, there is a charge for those items; that +2 you kept seeing for both was the price each region paid for those traded goods. You can see the price change from export price/import price when you check the foreign trade button, to just X price. In your case 2. The "tariff" for those goods is removed and I believe that is because you also have the 'Better Deals' perk. (I can't remember exactly but pretty sure that affects your cost between regions) That is why you are seeing that though.

    I've built a trading road between the regions that cuts out a considerable amount of the travel time. That has helped speed things up a bit, but it still is less than optimal. Limiting the # of trades between the region speeds things along too. Lastly, I am going to try and put a granary and storehouse beside the trading posts to see if the workers there will remove the items and prevent the trading post families from opening stalls for the traded goods. That is a giant bottleneck.

      This is a really good idea! 1 straight road in. Some things I have noticed is they still favour going around the kings road no matter how long it is! Lots of work needed for him to refine how this works IMO as there is still no real reason to have more than 1 region unless you just want to

      I was thinking because they were using the King's Road, this is how you could, in a way, exploit trading between regions. Setting your Trading Posts closer on the KR like we did for the AI traders to exploit the market receiving and exporting goods. Also. I use a storage house by my trading post specifically for the reasons you are looking to do the same. What happens is the TP and SH swap goods. Those storage goods can then be gathered by another storage facility closer or in town. This leaves your TP workers doing their job; trading. Not traversing the town dropping stuff off. Once you get the SHs set up, the automation takes care of the rest and there is much less micromanaging. 👍

      ​​@@benjaminhickmann6478 Basically yup. Started a new build and just had planks going to that SH and then picked up by the TP fam. Was constantly making money. It's not crazy money like we had manipulating the market but I never ran out as I stayed upgrades and every bandit camp went to my treasury vs regional. Helps as you up grade bc that's when you get taxed. Granted I learned small towns get taxed much less. Had 42 "total people" and 1 Tier 2 plot. I was paying 42 per year.

    Yeah, the increase in trading and tax is a little silly. I have reached 40,000 to open a trade route and that is with the two trading discounts. I have never had more than $1500 in the new beta version of the game. You can however turn the King's tax off in the settings at the start of the game which is good. I think the King's tax should be on a slider so you can choose your tax rate. I do think it should be a percentage of what monies you have and not based on the number of people. I think the financials should be directly linked to the difficulty settings so if you want a tough experience you can get that on "extreme level". If you want an enjoyable and relaxing experience then leave the finances as they were in the original version. Really enjoying your vids on this series..... super helpful. Cheers 🍻

    Royal Taxes go up as you level your plots. The moment you do an upgrade on a level 1 plot to level 2, taxes begin. The idea is getting your plots to level 3 because you receive income for every tier 2-3 plot. Since each plot brings more income as it levels you also get more families and subsequently more income. Eventually your income supercedes the Royal Tax. You can see an example in Tacticat's recent video. Love this build and I'm glad you're continuing it as the idea is great. 🖖🏻 Cheers.

      Oh! Forgot the other reason I popped in. lol Your tax is monthly. Royal is yearly. I wasn't sure about it at first but, it's not too bad. Especially since there is no penalty currently for being in the negative. I assume some balancing will occur but for now it gets us used to the "mechanic".

    Real talk? I don't buy it... Context before I start yapping: - I'm an aerospace engineering lecturer as my day job - I've coded in Java for 5+ years doing everything from App development, Backend work, hell even Minecraft Plugins (surprisingly a lot of good money in it) - I've been doing Unity work for a just over a year on side projects. With that context in place, i'll be honest... I don't have much faith in this game. To list a few of the things that are red flags for me: - The Desktop Icon isn't scaled right and still has a janky name of "HoodedHorseManorLords" - There are multiple tool tips with spelling errors and no capitalised start to the tip. - The requirement issues are all underlined technical messages "like_this_for_everything" - The starting map is literally called "early_access_map with 0 effort to give it a name (christ you could wack "name a starter map for a medieval city builder / rts" into ChatGPT and have a nice name in 5 minutes flat... - Little things like the way progress on farms works causes the whole ui to reload in the 1st and 2nd stages These all seem like little things, but its the truth of what these little things mean that gives me pause... They arn't hard to fix or even spot coding wise. As in this isn't an "oh its just a bit of jank"... Its more a "This is 1 minute of extra work after you get something working, that they have decided not to do". I.e. The developer seems to be getting to "eh it'll be aight" stage of functionality, then pissing off and leaving it to gather dust. Like all the issues I've mentioned? I'd actually bet good money it'd take an hour tops to fix ALL OF THEM. It sorta screams to me of a Developer who just doesn't have pride in their work other than the actual tech they've added to the table through this system. To sort of sum up the most obvious of them... if the dev is not going to make sure his desktop icon and shortcut title are to a good standard before releasing it on early access to steam, its straight up a dev who doesn't really care enough about his project to actually get it to "completion". Will he finish the game in terms of the base mechanics? Maybe with another few years... but I'd bet top dollar this thing never gets out of early access in terms of general polish and quality, as it seems that, even on a basic level, the dev doesn't care. And I'm really surprised to see no one talking about this. There's a difference between bugs and "this guy doesn't have the motivation to finish anything they make for this game"

    Since the manor house doesn't have any dependencies on roads / supply movement I don't see any issues with setting it off the side as it won't change the mechanics of the challenge. Plus when you factor in manor expansion it would be awkward to have it on the main.

    It’s not even beta yet, it’s pre release. This game is going to be massive. Mounted knights. Enemy settlements to attack. Castle planner upgrades. Etc etc. Even the possibility of a mmorts game. This patch so soon after release has given me great confidence that Greg knows this game is a diamond and he will polish it and not just spend his profits on coke, hookers and yachts.

    Guys, can i take a advice from you all?? Why my villagers always complain about "not enough fuel", but I literally have 700+ of fuels in surplus bar. And i already make my marketplace separately to make the distribution evenly.. Help me guys, I'm so desperate 😭😭

    I really struggle with the amount of free workers pop. How are you able to get so many free workers in your game play? I always seem to be at o just to keep up with my production of the basics.

    Is anyone else having problems with this patch? The Granary building itself doesn't appear on the map but it's built and usable.Retinue customization also has none of the new armors added and a base armor is grayed out.like plain gray clothes.and a grey streak on there face...

    Were people not affected by the market supply issue? I see on the patch notes but everyone is focusing more on things that were not that big of an issue compared to the market problems

    The game already have high approval so if the dev build another house maybe it could attract more "workers".

    I went with the cheaper trade route option, and now it's going to cost me 400 coins just to open a route.

      Yeah, the more routes you open, the price goes up exponentially for opening new trade routes

      They are ok, spearmen are Just too strong

      Depends on what you are fighting Spearmen feel really weak vs retinues, polearms are great against them
