Spearfishing NY. Rough winds. 2023 11 18

The ocean in November.
chilly wind from the north, water warmer than air. The birds are mostly gone, so is much of the fish.
Just 30 minutes in the water. Strong wind in the same direction as the outgoing tide. My dive flag mast broke, I had 2 lbs too much on my weight vest. Not ideal in poor visibility and hazardous conditions.
The sun sets at 430pm, it gets dark quickly.
The chilly wind makes the toes and fingertips feel cold. Water temperature 58F/15C air 52F/12C. The hands feel warmer in the water.
After sunset, when I was out of the water, the wind and swell calmed down.
