    Really important that you use non nano zinc oxide as they particles are larger and less likely to be absorbed into the body and sit on the skin to protect

    Thanks for this video 💚 my question is regarding the zinc, do you use nano? Also, how do you handle the zinc? Do you wear a mask? If so, which type? That part scares me 🫣 thanks again

      Hi - I use non-nano, my research found that to be recommended, I do just put a cloth/scarf over my face when I put it into the mix, it only a few seconds, so i just hold my breath whilst measuring in that part too 💚✌️🌿

      deeply appreciate your reply. I can handle a scarf/mask - wasn’t sure if that was enough, so wanted to check. Thanks again and take good care 💚🙏🌱

    Interesting. Is it easy to apply? In other words, what is the texture/consistency once ready? Is it like coconut oil, or runnier?

    • @freedomforestlife
      @freedomforestlife  7 місяців тому +1

      Hi, it is more like Coconut oil - it is quite firm, but melts very easily. You can make it runnier if that is how you prefer by adding more liquid oil and slightly less hard oils. 💚✌️🌿

      @@freedomforestlife I guess if it's hot enough for suncream then it's hot enough to melt it a little for application. Thanks!

    Really interested in this. When you say spf range...what affects the range? Is it volume? Thanks in advance.

    • @freedomforestlife
      @freedomforestlife  7 місяців тому

      Hi Lynette, it was a good few years since I researched, but yes I feel it would also be down to the quality of the oils/product, growning environment - natural variable etc, which are hard to be precise on everytime, as well as the quanity of your mixture. 💚✌️🌿

    I understand people have concerns about sunscreen and using only zinc (which I disagree with). Independent of that, making your own sunscreen like this is not safe or effective. Zinc only sunscreens are some of the most difficult to properly formulate even for experienced cosmetic chemists. If you want something equivalent, but that is actually effective, properly tested and formulated, I'd recommended a company like Badger.

    How much sun exposure does this allow for ? I am going traveling around Australia and I am terrified of getting burnt🧐 Any advice on this ? 💛

    • @freedomforestlife

      Hi, I wouldn't be able to say for sure as being a homemade recipe it hasn;t been tested, If i am in full on sun though, I re-apply ever couple of hours or after Ive been in the water etc. Wearing a big brimmed hat I find is the most effective way to protect face, shoulder, back of neck etc from sun too. I used to live in NZ and have never been big on store bought sun cream, so didn;t use much there, just being sensible with sun time/exposure whenever possible 💚 Hope you have a great trip and thanks for watching ✌️🌿

    Also is there a less comedogenic way of making it? This would surely cause me massive acne.

    • @geronimoflyingfree
      @geronimoflyingfree 6 місяців тому

      Might try squalan and sheabutter (both are really oxidations-stable as well, not only non-comedogen)... Sorry for my English, but I guess you'll understand it. 😊

      You could try different oil blends for sure if you found this not so good - I chose these for their range of possible natural SPF's and to make it more solid, I can't see any reason why you could use just Hemp seed oil (which is meant to be one of the best for balancing skin) with the zinc and raspberry seed perhaps for extra spf, for example, it would just be runny - or even just half the amount of hard heavier oils if you find them problematic, but would like a slightly solid finished cream. I don't have an issue with it in this way, I only use natural oils on my skin to moisturise daily, so may i am used to it - I do used to find convenstional sumcreams brought me out in spots though sometimes! Enjoy experimenting - its a great way to learn 💚✌️🌿

    Can I use this on my child age 6 who has fair skin? How often would you apply it?

    • @freedomforestlife
      @freedomforestlife  7 місяців тому +1

      HI Rachel, I re apply it every couple of hours or if its washed off, pretty much like normal sun screen - its completely your choice who your would like to use it on, its all natural ingredients. Perhaps try it on yourself first to gauge how you like it/ level of protect you feel it gives and go from there. As with everything homemade, every mixture will vary slightly and depend on how much zinc you add for main sunblock. Thanks for watchiing 💚✌️🌿
