I made one of these wine racks (using a slightly different process) but, I said the same thing you did when I was making it. I DON"T EVEN DRINK WINE! Beautiful project!!!
I did exactly the same thing with walnut. The grain direction on those curves was a real pain for me on the router. I’m goi g to try flying each piece of walnut to a section of ply before routering next time
I watched this video about a year ago and thought to myself, 'That's lots and lots of sanding'. But after getting into woodworking I've seen just how much sanding improves the quality of the finish. 😅
The word is DUDE that's awesome. Am totally gonna attempt this. In process of setting up in woodworking myself and this is gonna be sommit gonna attempt as extra peices along with my live edge tables boards and other extras. Do u have plans for this? 🏴👍
Thanks! I don't actually have a plan for it because I didn't draw it on the computer. I just saved a physical template for myself. Thanks for checking out my videos!
I like finished product but I'm curious why you didn't laminate the entire thickness and then use the bandsaw? Also, great shop! What kind of clamps are you using to join the walnut boards together? Thanks.
Good question. I actually told my buddy I would do it that way if I was doing it again. Live and learn. Those are just Irwin clamps, but I have a couple brands that look exactly like those.
Alright. I made one of these, thanks to your video. My wife posted it on her social media, and other people want one. I used a jigsaw and band saw for cutting. Took a decent amount of time. How much would you charge for this? I saw the previous comment asking if it was for sale…. And I told my wife this was one of a kind…. But since you made it too, what do you think it’s worth?
I’m glad the video helped, that’s what it’s all about. This is one of those things that’s probably difficult to get what it’s actually worth. As you know if you made one, it’s not much material but a lot of labor-so it comes down to what you want for your time.
This is a product I would cnc for repeatability more efficient with waist ( nesting ) and much time saved on production. It is beautiful though. I just helped a friend with my cnc to make a similar concept
Hi Larry, sorry I don't have the template for that one anymore. The only thing I can tell you for sure is that it's 6-¾" thick because I know it's comprised of 9 layers of ¾" material (7 bertch and 2 walnut).
Cool workshop 😎 👌 👍 + well done with the dilemma 👍 All woodworking has involved dilemma in creating 🎉😊
Beautiful piece of art
And also incredible design.
Thanks for the explanation.
Absolutely gorgeous creation and I am in awe of your craftmanship.
Thank you!

Did you do anything interesting with all the scrap round sections you needed to cut off of each piece?

Мужик ты молодец. Потрясающая и простая в изготовлении подставка. Продолжай в том же духе. И если можно делай переводы на русский. Привет из России.
Спасибо за ваш комментарий! Привет из Америки! Спасибо за просмотр!
Who am I even talking to on this camera. 😂 I'm here for the support group meeting. Did I miss it?🤣

Ya, many times I ask myself "what the heck am I doing!"
How many layers of baltic birch did you use?
7 layers baltic birch and 2 layers walnut

@@ModernArtisan Thanks for your reply. I will use your suggestion about using the diameter from rolls of tape and go for it. Larry
good video but the background "music" is terrible
