I use them freehand on cotton bags and clothing. It works really well. I mostly do seascapes as I don't prime the fabric in any way so the effect isn't crisp but I like that effect. I put a cutting mat inside the bag or t-shirt as it does bleed but the effects are great. I work on damp fabric using a spray bottle of water and fix with a hot iron.
Missed 2 toes of the frog. But a whole new has been opened to me. These pencils are awesome. Thank you for sharing this. ❤
I so appreciate the thoughts behind your choices. So inspiring, Hank you 🙏
Thanks! I'm surprised more people aren't using Derwent Inktense pencils. They are beautiful and vivid.
I totally agree!
I loved seeing this done with Inktense! It was very helpful in understanding how to layer them and I cannot wait to play around with mine some more.
This is too perfect. I’ve been looking for a tutorial on how to use Inktense coloured pencils that only uses a couple of colours that I can purchase from open stock rather than commit to a set. I don’t have Marie Trolle’s Botanicum but I do have Nightfall. I had already marked the page to follow your tutorial on highlights, shading and shadows from your beginners playlist. Fortunately it has a frog that I can use to follow your Inktense tutorial. There is also the small frog wearing a crown on the title page of Hannah Karlson’s Magical Dawn to colour with the Inktense as well. Your tutorials have been a godsend to me being new to this hobby. Thank you.
I have just bought a set of derwent intense and this has helped a lot , thank you 😊
I’m so glad it was helpful. Happy coloring!
Wow thankyou! I can't believe you made that little frog look so cute. I just got myself some intense and this really helped me
Thank you! I loved how my cute little frog turned out. If you followed the tutorial for the frog, please share in my Facebook group. I'd love to see it. If you didn't do this one, I'd love to see anything you colored with them. Happy Coloring!
So helpful to see your tips in action! He’s adorable! I’d love to see how you finish off the page!
I'm so glad I found your channel😊 I really like your tutorials you talk through them so well. M so excited I just ordered 2 different sets of the Derwit intense! Getting them tomorrow. ❤😊
Welcome to my channel. You will love your Inktense!!
She did it again, folks♥
Does the alcohol marker make the intense bleed through to the other side of the page. Please show the other side more often so we know what problems we might encounter. Thank You
He is such a cute little frog prince!! 🐸
great video, thank you
Thanks 💜
I love my inktense Pencils. I don't use them nearly as much as I should. Thanks for the video
I had to get these even before I can get Prismacolors, and I love them
QI think you missed two toes at the top
I love using tombow with inktense. I never could control my water with a water brush. You make it look easy. Great tutorial.
I’ve always used the water brush and the Tombow was new to me until very recently. I’m so glad you enjoyed the video. ♥️
I use them and live them. I have so many now that I forget about them. I use all my pencils. It’s fun to try out new things.
Pull them out and play with them. They’re so much fun! ♥️
Nice.....
💜💜💜tfs💜💜💜
Bravo superbe tuto ! Les inktens abîment ils le dessin de la page de derrière? Merci pour toutes vos vidéos 👍👍👍
How do you clean the Tombow colourless blender in between colors?
What a beautiful frog....I can use the pencils, I just don't have your artistry or eye on her to put the colours.....you are very talented!
Aww! Thank you so much. ♥️
💚😊💚
Ok I just ordered The 72 set of intense.I hope I like them. I just got 150 prismas.
How exciting!
I always wanted Derwent as a kid and they didn’t even have these then . Tfs
I love my Inktense. You missed 2 toes on the other side of flower stem
Oops! I’ll have to go back and color them. Thank you.
I kept saying “do the toes” throughout the video. Lol
I’ve had Inktense or many years in my earlier card making days. Going to have to try them in my books. Great tutorial. How was the backside of the page? Did it bleed through any😂?
I am wondering the same. Very disappointed she did not show that. I have this book and want to kno if you are going to lose some of the pages.
Sorry I didn’t show the back of the page. I did check for you today because I am going to start finishing the rest of the page. There is no bleed through to the other side. When I’m doing a tutorial type video and trying to make sure I get everything packed into one video that I want to, sometimes it’s easy to forget things. I’ll try to remember to show the back of the page next time.
Pam, please finish this page, its already gorgeous…..I want to see it done. Can we see the back of the page please
There is no bleed through on the back of the page. I was just using the back of the book and matching the images up to Google images and oh my…the colors of the dragon fly and flower are beautiful! I was going to start coloring but haven’t yet. I’ll see what I can do. I love my little frog prince!
Are you saying you use ‘google image’ to help select the colors? How?
I’m new to using inktense and I only have a set of 6 colours. So far I’ve only experimented with colour mixing to get the most from my limited colours. I’m learning a lot from watching your inktense videos, thank you! Your frog is very cute and the colours look perfect. Just one little thing I noticed (I debated with myself whether I should mention it or not) but just above the frog, on the right side of the flower stem, there are 2 little bumps…. I believe those are the frogs toes from his higher back leg.
Can a fixative be used over Derwent, or will it activate the colors again?
They dry permanent. So, a fixativ should be ok, but I did not try it out yet.
You would need to ensure all the Inktense has been activated. I use a damp soft flat watercolour brush and gently go light to dark over the entire coloured surface, cleaning brush regularly. This also helps consolidate the picture too. I believe Inktense are an acrylic ink so an acrylic fixative should be OK but always test first.
I enjoyed this inktense video .....oops you missed the top toes!
T
That frog looks like it's giving jump off the page
Nice! You missed two little toes :).
