ThAnk you for showing they are NOT permanent. I have had the pencils since they first came out years ago. I knew they were not permanent thru use and would get so frustrated when people would say they were permanent.
Baby wipe is genius!
This has to be the best inktense video on the entire internet. Subscribed!
🙌🏼🙌🏼
Love how you grated the pigment for the sand texture! Lots of great info!
I haven't used my intense a lot, but in my experience every bit of the color needs to be activated on the paper, otherwise the color will move when subsequent layers are added.
I agree that testing your paper is always wise. That's particularly important when using an ink that you expect to be waterproof. The sizing or finish of some papers will alter that property.
Love how creative you are with stamps! All your doodling adds so much.
I tried lifting after the most oerfectionist blending, same result on Arches.
Such a great, thorough demo of Inktense pencils. I've had them for years and never did anything with the control you taught. Thanks.
I love my Inktense pencils! I mainly use them on fabric. When heat set they are definitely permanent on fabric. I really wish I had more of them. Thanks for showing me what else I can do with them.
Yes definitely permanent on fabric and paper if heat set first.
I really love these pencils! I use colored pencils a lot and I love the effect of watercolor so now you get the best of both worlds with these vibrant colored pencils.
Your demonstration really leans into the Inktense properties. Thanks for sharing the tips, too, re baby wipes & light grating. And very nice CC stamps.
You are so welcome!
Great informtion and video!!!
Love Inktense pencils!! Thank you for validating that they are not always permanent when dry! Thought I was doing something wrong! Good to know it could be the paper.
Love your videos!! Thank you!!!
Glad it was helpful!
The Inktense pencils are so vivid. Your seagull and walrus card is adorable- love how you used the baby wipe application. The tri fold mermaids are divine! Your doodling brought them to life. Colorado Craft Co makes unique and one of a kind quality stamps.
Thank you so much!
Adorable cards Sandy! I'll have to dig out my Inktense Pencils!
I wish I had known about these before I invested in other types of pencils. Thank you for posting this. Your techniques demo was fascinating. 🍃
This is very cool…love the strong colors! Great job, as always, Sandy!
Oh!! How beautifully you used the inktense pencils. I have the set and haven't used them because I haven't had a good experience with them. Seeing your results gives me inspiration to try again. I didn't even know they could be used on their own (feeling silly.) I was taught they were to be used to enhance watercolor. Thanks for the video. Chery C
You are so welcome!
Cheryl C.: Don't feel embarrassed. Believe me when I tell you you're not alone. Seriously. 🍃
I had purchased these ink tense to make my own fabric and I love the vibrancy of them. I a. Dairly
Inktense pencils ❤️❤️🥰
Thank you for this detailed discussion. I love them. So much fun. So much fun. Fabulous on cloth too, just set with an iron. The inktense paints have great light-fast rating.
Fantastic video! Thanks for this wonderful video and I love how you combined the walrus and the pier stamp set!
Very beautiful images, i love them all. The doodling adds so much.
Learned a lot about the pencils in this video. I might have to get these!
love how the stamps turned out!🥰
This is the best demo of the inktense pencils. I need to pull out my set and try your tips and techniques. I love the beautiful projects you made.
I love these pencils there my absolute favorites. Haven't quite got the whole set but I'm not far off. I loved watching you use these so many more ideas. Thank you
Thank you again! I love your effects
Loved this! I learned so much. Thank you for sharing. I had no idea about the properties of Inktense. The artwork came out stunning.
I have the blocks and pencils! Love this! Need to start playing with them! Thank you and appreciated!♥♥♥
Have fun!
So much information!!! Thank you Miss Sandy. Have a very blessed day.
You are so welcome
Thank you so much for taking your time to share a tutorial on inktense pencils, they are beautiful colors. I love all your tips and techniques. The baby wipe trick is really awesome. You are very inspiring. I learn so much from you. You are amazing.
Thank you for showing this video! I really learned a lot. I've never done this before but have been looking for something a little more neat than acrylic pouring because I live in an apartment and can't make a big mess. That looks like the perfect idea for me.
Glad it was helpful!
Hello Sandy 🖐
Good to see you and your beautiful drawings 👍. Thank you for sharing your beautiful video 👍✨️
Love Inktense and love your work with it. ❤️
Fabulous projects and techniques with these new stamps and the Inktense pencils. Thanks for all the info on the pencils.
You are so welcome!
Just found your channel today, and I am in love. So much information, and techniques. Thanks so much for sharing!
Welcome!
What a great video! Loved the Inktense info and the cards are beautiful!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I love the must the third card
You can show so many ways to do things. I must just sit down and try it.
So appreciate this overview. You are an excellent teacher!
Glad it was helpful!
Love your mermaid paintings! I got a sent of Inkense pencils, and am still trying to figure out how to use them.
Amazingly helpful. The strainer is genius (and will work for pastels), but my mind is absolutely blown by the baby wipes. Thanks for this. Great video.
Glad it was helpful!
I love the doodles!
You are the first person that i got a lot out of your video about inktense. Thank you!😊
I'm so glad!
I loved it! Nice to see your proses and how you think when deciding to do something new. I love the Mermaid and the walrus with the seagulls. Love Terri Simmers.
Sandy…as always whenever I watch you I learn something new! So enjoyed this video! Thanks for sharing your wonderful heART! 🖌🎨🏷
You are so welcome!
Baby wipes ate brilliant, I use them with acrylics, oil, and dry pastels.
I would love to know how you made the folded black background! This whole piece is beautiful, Sandy!!!
Sandy, I have the Inktense Pencils by Derwent, new to water coloring, been nervous about using them because they were a bit pricy, this tutorial was so helpful. Loving the animals, the v*seals you drew were gorgeous. CCC always knocks it out of the park with there stamps. I love this set because of the Walrus’e’s Animals are my fave to work with. Tysm. Blessings! Taking your class would be the icing on the cake for these amazing pencils.
Ordered the Walrus and die today. Thanks, again. I hope I did it correctly.
Wow!! So beautiful Sandy.
Thank you so much!
Very useful information about Inktense pencils. It explains why I’ve had some mixed reactions to my own experiments with my new set (including noticing that they indeed lift!). Thank you, Sandy. I always learn so much from you!!
Glad it was helpful!
These are so beautiful! I’ve learned lots of new ways to create texture watching you in this video! I tried a card at Christmas with a beachy background and it was just flat although I used blending in the sand area. Using the shaving technique will make all the difference when I try it again!
Wonderful!
This was so helpful!
Thank you for this video. I had just seen these for the first time in a quilting video about 3 days ago, where the creator was using them on fabric and discussing their permanence.
We are spied on so much! I do not watch art or paint craft type videos at all anymore. It's been 7 years or more since my UA-cam feed sends me anything at all, as I am more interested in sewing/fabrics/ sewing machines these days. So when I saw Inktense on the quilting video, I stopped and went to Amazon to look them up amd check the price. Voila! Now Inktense is in my UA-cam feed.
This also just made me realize another reason I love Aldi so much. Just like the old days, I can walk into Aldi and give them my money for food without having to tell them who I am so that they can keep track of everything I buy.
Computers were supposed to have simplified life, so much for that. At least occasionally I get rewarded with something I actually enjoy - like this video. Thank you.
At least I'm a reward for once. LOL!
The tea strainer to make powder 😍😍😍
Okay…I’m officially blown away! A tea strainer and a baby wipe!! I’ve got to try this!!!
Thank you so much for this video awesome info. About intense-gonna give blocks a try. Thank you!!!! You ROCK!!!!
Thanks for the video portion on the Inktense Pencils... I have been wondering about them!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for the tips on my favorite medium and tool, i have subscribed
Thanks for the sub! ❤️
First time here. Great instruction and results. Looking forward to more.
Welcome aboard!🥰
Really beautiful, thanks for showing and teach us 😊
My pleasure 😊
Hey Sandy, it was so lovely to stumble across this video - haven’t caught you for a while. Everyone needs a bit of you in their life! Take care xx
Thank you so much! Welcome back 🥰
loved this! thanks
Learned so much from this video about Inktense that I never knew. Those mermaids are so beautiful! I just know I’m a mermaid as much as I swim and love water.
Thanks for sharing all of your knowledge....
My pleasure!
Great info for the Inktense pencils! TFS...❤️
Using the baby wipe is genius.
It's so versatile! :)
Gosh 😀 You are so much fun to listen to 👍 great video, very informative.
I just discovered you, doing a quick scroll on my YTube suggested list. The teals & turquoises, my ultimate fave colors, on your post caught my eye. I’ve loved art since l could hold a pencil upright. Love making my drawings into cards for family. Got caught up in all the fun card making equipment & supplies about a yr ago, so l haven’t made my own creations in a while. I’ve had the Inktense set for a couple of yrs, watched a lot of demos, l had fun making vibrantly colored doodles. I really enjoyed your demo, l’m going to dust the cobwebs off my Inktense & use them on my cards for a change, coloring is my favorite part of making cards. Thanks bunches for sharing your talent! 💖👏🏻👏🏻👍🏼🙏🏻
Glad you’re inspired!🥰
Wow, those are all amazing. Great releases from Anita Jeram 💖
you're an amazing artist. my mother was a great artist but I didn't get any of her talent.these are cool ink pencils
She lied … she is more than an artist ❤
What she does is magical! Sandy must be a magician too!
I have never seen anyone explain these pencils like this video. Thanks. Now I see I need to try some 😊
My pleasure 😊
Thank you!!
Oh! Adorable drawing 💖
Thank you so much 😀
Love inktense as wellcas water soluble graphite
Loved your tips🤓
Hi, new subscriber here🤗 As I look at all your videos…I’m amazed at how many different things you cover and with such proficiency! Thank you so much for sharing your art and knowledge 🤩🇺🇸
Thanks for subbing!
Well WOW is just the word! amazingly beautiful :) As an older artist, I have never tried these. Oh my! These will be a go - go to try. My favorite medium is pen & ink work. But these might be a LOT of fun. Maybe even to accent some pen & ink's :). Just finished an oil painting 4' x6', "The Great Red Dragon" (now in for copyright) from Revelation 12. He might have been fun using these pencils. But he is finished now and it is hard to beat oils. thank you for such a wonderful teaching video. Thumbs UP to you darlin!!!
Very fun lesson and intro to the inktense pencils. I would like to know more about how you mounted your finished pieces on the trifold display. Looks great!
I just trimmed them and added layers.
I've seen you use inktense pencils before, but this video went into a lot more depth. I think I might have to to add them to my shopping cart! I really like that they don't dry as light as watercolor. You get a much better idea of the actual color. Love the tri-fold underwater scenes. And the walrus is just adorable with his seagull buddies! TFS
Glad it was helpful!
This was a fantastic video. Loved it start to finish. 🧜♀️🧜♀️🧜♀️👏🏽👏🏼👏🏾❣️❤️🇺🇸
What a great explanation about inktense pencils!
I'm missing one idea of how to use them: for extra intense colour, I take the colour of the pencil directly with my brush. It gives really hard lines, so I only use it if I need extra colour in one particular spot.
The cards are gorgeous! Love the walrus with his seagull buddies. ❤️
Great suggestion!
❤Wonderful video❤ I am thinking of getting a small set of Inktense maybe the 24 set. Does it matter which ones to buy if you are first starting out, pencils versus blocks? What brand baby wipe do you use? Or does any brand work? Thank you.
Great demo thank you! BTW can you use any tea strainer? I've never seen that idea used before. Learn something new every day thanks to great instructors such as yourself.
I believe so… It just has to grate a fine enough powder. Wash it well if you’re gonna use it for tea afterward.🤣
EXCELLENT TY❤🧡💛💚💙💜🤎🤎🤍❣❤🧡💛💚💙💜🤎🖤🤍❣❤🧡💛💚💙💜🤎🖤🤍❣💙💛
Great tutorial on inktense pencils, full of useful tips. Your results on the new CCC release are beautiful.
Thanks so much!
Great video on inktense! I didn’t know you could make paler shades of the pencils. What is the strainer you used and where can you buy it? As always, your videos are informative. Thanks
It’s in the supply list🥰
The Inktense pencils can open a whole world of watercolors. I bought them accidentally!😀
I’ve never noticed the outliner pencil before. I feel so dumb 😂 Thank you for the enlightenment! I love the seals, made me giggle.
I discovered it by accident 🤣
@@SandyAllnock1 I’m pretty sure I could say that about 80% of life 🤣 thanks for sharing!
I had to look up the word "Bupkis". Not a southern slang. Cracked me up to hear it though. The Inktense is beautiful. I would have sworn they were watercolors. Now....onto CCC. Thanks for the tip on the Walrus butt. I love this Walrus. Your doodling on the 1st mermaid card is fantastic. What a stunning card with lovely colors. Your doodling is always fun to look at.
@Luca Angelo Close to the Florida/Georgia line.
Love your lead shaver what’s the brand name please? Thank you for your videos really learning a lot
It’s the tea strainer in the supply list☺️
One more thing baby wipes can do. I keep several packs around the house. Admittedly, this one is a much more fun use than cleaning up cat vomit.
🤣🤣🤣
Those mermaids turned out so awesome!!👏👏👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️❤️I am just getting ready to o start on mine after following my fave Kelly Latevola Taylor!!!! So now you've given me even more inspiration 🎉 I would love to win your project 😃 How?????❤❤❤❤???
That giveaway is over but there’s a new one each month at Artventure!😍
So helpful! If you have a moment could you post a link to the sea lion reference photo? I would appreciate it!!
Here you go: bit.ly/3xruxNf
@@SandyAllnock1 thank you! 😊
With the blocks, do you need to be careful not to use on wet paper? I was told never to use the pencil on wet paper, as the water soaks into the pigment and "sets" it, making the pencil unusable. Lovely demo. Thanks.
I guess it depends on the look you want. Sometimes letting that color stay there is perfect.
I have to take out my intense pencils again. 😃😍 Can you give me a link for the grater? I would like to buy one? Thank you for your lovely video’s sandy‼️
In the description-tea strainer
What effect do baby wipes have long term on artist grade supplies like paints and paper? I am very hesitant to use them on anything I create.
If you don’t use ones that have alcohol or some thing in them, I think it’s pretty safe. You could try a damp paper towel but I find those fall apart pretty easily.
May i ask what was that tool you used to "grate" the block & pencils? Sorry to bother you. Tx u
It’s a tea strainer. It’s in the supply list but most any fine mesh tea strainer should work ❤️ (no bother, ask questions anytime!)
That walrus card would be an awesome Patron gift!
It’s going to be for the February Artventure challenge 🥰
gorgeous 🤩
You just made me fall in love with Inktense pencils! They are going on my wish list! I learned so many different things from this video, thank you for sharing, I love your teaching style, I love your calm way of speaking, and I especially love your gift of editing your videos❤9:59 am EST
I just saw you said walrus not mermaid-yes the walrus goes into the Patreon pile❤️
I looked on your list of art supplies. I did not see the stamps you used, where are they?
They’re right there in the supply list….🤷🏼♀️
Have u tried them with gamsol or other solvents?
No, these pigments are made to blend with water, not solvents.
