    Who said you weren't an artist? You make art--therefore you are an artist. And what you do is beautiful. Thank you for sharing your experience with Inktense.

      @@tinyworldsofwonder I understand your difficulty in saying you are an artist. It took me a long time and it still often feels like I'm being presumptuous. An art teacher finally convinced me that it is okay--just like a plumber says he is a plumber or a singer says she is a singer. Who is to say that what we do isn't art? And that makes us artists. :)

      @@carolcocking3039 I love that approach, and I think you're right! I think it feels strange to assume a position of authority on something one feels lacking in training in, but since experience is the best teacher, perhaps I need to rethink this. :) Thanks for sharing your perspective!

    So happy to see an example of colouring using the Derwent Inktense pencils. My very first colouring tools were a set of 72 Inktense and a Johanna Basford colouring book.

    New subscriber! I would absolutely LOVE to see more coloring tutorials with these, and the Prismacolor, and Polychromos (if u have those) on how you color your pages. I absolutely love the intensity and vibrancy of your coloring. It would be awesome to see flip through of your completed images of adult coloring books.
    I love that these were all colored just by watercoloring with Inktense and your didn’t “have to” use other pencils to create your shadows. I found your tips and explanations very thorough, which in turn is extremely helpful. Thank you so very much for sharing your beautiful art. I am currently working on coloring The Ink House adult coloring book by Rory Dobner. I would absolutely be thrilled to see coloring tutorials from you using the derwent Inktense in that book. Sense you adore the Mouse Guard so much, I think you would really like that book as well. 😊

Thanks for the suggestion! I am so glad you enjoyed the video. I just got the Ink House, and I can't wait to try a page! You're right - it is totally my style! It's one of those that feels a little intimidating because it is so beautiful and detailed, but you have given me courage! :)

    Oh my goodness! Thank you for this lesson. I have a 36 set of ink tense pencils I've had for years but never used. I bought them to use on fabric and never did. Now I will use them in my colouring books for sure because I prefer the brighter effect and now won't have to virtually go through the page with my artist or studio Derwents to get the same effect. I started to use gel pens which are alright but not really my preference. I'm excited to give this a try after my water brushes arrive ❤️

I just use like watercolour to get variations of shading. Love this video. You go, Girl! I watch Zuchinikitty as she often uses these pencils with water as I do. Will try gamsol next time.

    As an artist myself, I have to say that you sell yourself short! You ARE an artist! I am interested to know what your definition of an "Artist" is? I was self-taught and God gave me my talents. Every artist has been given a certain set of skills. The art you create is unique and your own. No other person can do what you do how you do it and vice versa.
    Find the God-given artist deep down within yourself and share your gifts with the world!
    Bye 😃

      Hi there! I am glad you enjoyed the video. :) I haven't tried the Derwent brand water brushes - I have a set from Stampin' Up and a set from Amazon. Of the two I like the Stampin' Up brand better. I do find that the tips get a bit stained over time, but they don't shed any color, so it is purely cosmetic. :) Happy coloring! :)

    You are very good in explaining things. I wonder if you can tell me do this work like watercolor brush pens (which I am not fond of) I do watercolor. I also wonder if this can create a watercolor(as in tubes or pans) effect like clouds, for instance. I don’t want to do just the typical coloring an adult coloring book. Most demo I see if for coloring book. I prefer to draw or create my own thing. But your is amazing. My impression is that this inktense is only meant for coloring books?
    I love the way you do it. Very convincing. Pls advise and thanks.

    • @tinyworldsofwonder
      @tinyworldsofwonder  2 роки тому +1

      Hi, Nanette! I think Inktense are often used by professional artists, and I think they would be great for the techniques you describe. You can "scribble" onto a plastic sheet with the pencils and pick up color to create watercolor-like effects. Inktense also come in blocks, and I've seen people use a craft knife to scrape some dust into a palette and pick the color up like traditional watercolor. They are super versatile and fast! Thanks for your kind compliments about my work! :)

      Martine Boughey Thanks so much! I'm not sure that the Inktense would have enough coverage to cover numbers on a paint by number unfortunately. I think acrylic paint would have to be the medium of choice there. I do have a set of Albrecht Durer watercolor pencils which work beautifully in my adult coloring books. 😀
