@Robert Siegfried it's a great album, but theres no many bangers. There's 7empest but it just doesn't hit as hard or cary as important a message as songs like lateralus or most of the tracks on anemia. I agree with the guitar not being as punchy here. Anyone thst doesn't like the album though just needs to give it a few more listens. I'd put it above opiate and undertow.
Crazy good.. No need to see anything after a Tool concert. Hard to get, but Live is even better than the albums.. Better sound, everything is better Live. Not many artist Can do that
Justin (Bass), Adam (Guitarist and synths) and Danny (Drums, synths, and digital drums) all write the music first. Once the music is written, Maynard comes in and layers the vocals into the composition.
I will watch you listen every song on this album, and I highly recommend you do so. It's one of my favorite albums ever, grows with every listen. Believe it or not, this is actually my least favorite song on the album (other than intermissions), but I still love this song as well. Pneuma is probably my favorite, but Decending and Invincible are a close second/third.
Great tour of the new album! I was lucky enough to catch this track live a few weeks ago. Decending, Invincible, and Pneuma also were absolutely mind blowing. Thanks for posting!
I just had the honor and pleasure of seeing Tool live in Boston on the 14th of November and they opened with this song. It's my third time seeing them live...and guys....seriously...if you get a chance to see them, TAKE IT....they can and do play this song to perfection live and its a hell of an opener! Great reaction as always!
Its so amazing to watch you truly "react" to the music. :D I love how he just nods along and she's moving her whole body and especially her face to the music. :D Thats just so cute. ^^
When the album was released, i listened to it in one take. And this is the first Song. I cried tears of joy, cause this was like the warmes hug u can receive after so many years without new tool material. i her them every day , and i i never stopped, all these years i listened to their old songs. yes, i´m really part of the Tool-Army with all my heart and soul. For me, Tool is the definition of music and what it should feel like. Glad u like them, too !
Btw.. they play it EXACTLY the same (with a few cool improvs) Live. If not, honestly no bias, it sounds better live even. It's actually super impressive.
You two are awesome!! The way in which she physically reacted to the song in this video, is exactly how I internally react to every Tool song, no matter how many times I've heard them... SUBBED!!!
Not sure if someone already mentioned this but the music gets written first and when it's done Maynard puts lyrics to it. That's why his voice sounds like it fits perfectly as another instrument. Love the Tool reactions. This whole album is amazing
All of the drumming is done by the legendary octopus, Mr. Danny Carey. I really appreciate your reactions. I feel as though you express openly what I feel internally.
You guys need to know what you’re listening to is a and that is unparalleled unprecedented and we should only consider ourselves lucky, to experience the greatness of tool,, and with Tool that’s just what you do is experience it. All tool records are concept albums they all have a running teams Menard is always providing you with a message that will require peeling back the layers of its complexity to obtain it’s greater meaning. Great reaction. Awesome..
There's just one drummer. Danny Carrey. He is insane. Adam Jones (Guitar) Justin Chancellor (Bass) and Danny write the "Sounds," Maynard calls them. Then they send the Sounds to Maynard and he puts lyrics to it once they are finished.
After my first Tool listen a long time ago I had to say to myself "no more I can't take it" while going into a huge spiral of emotions blasting out of me and this lasted for hours, days even ...
Please do Pneuma next, song changed my life. It’s Danny Carey’s masterpiece. Some of the best drumming you’ve ever heard. The man is either and extremely talented human, or slightly above average octopus. Dying to see you guys hear it.
he uses electronic drum pads called mandalas so sometimes he can play a beat or set of beats and loop them so it sounds like 2 people for sure plus he's Danny Carey the mad genius of odd time sigs
Yay! I've been hoping you guys would do something off of both Tool's Fear Inoculum and Devin's Empath! You just made me so happy! In addition to something off Empath, I'm still holding out hope that you'll listen to Devin's song Death of Music live at Royal Albert. It's SUCH a beautiful atmospheric song!
Their formula is to create the music first and then Maynard add the vocals. Most of the electronica and exotic drum sounds you hear are triggered from custom-made pads that Danny had built. Called mandala pads. Tablas are the type of drums you are hearing him trigger on this song.
Adam, Danny & Justin all write an record the music and Maynard adds his vocals/lyrics last. It is such a complex way of doing it but it works for them. It pays off very well. Done in eloquent fashion.
So... Yes when you said" Wow & Wow". You were RIGHT! You just heard classic Tool years after their formation! This is a mf' n real f#:$!@n band, keeping the real feel of their origin + adding new nuances! Yer reaction is 100% correct. GREAT REACTION you two. Justified😊
You are going too listen to this, walking through your house in your pajamas cooking bacon& eggs😊. C'mon this is NOT the last time yer gonna listen to this, I bet you Just put it on your playlist!? Am I wrong?
The intro is volume swells with guitar in the left ear and bass in the right ear. The "world" drum sounds are Indian tablas. Danny Carey learned tabla from Aloke Dutta, and recreates their sound with electric pads.
Adam is using a pedal to do volume swells on the guitar at the beginning. Each track is better than the next too.Danny Carey is an amazing drummer and it is just him playing.
Cello at beginning is a guitar..volume change. Only one drummer baby! One song at a time until you reach 7tempest...not 13 minutes..but 16. Every song will be completely different....trust me. This song....go on UA-cam and watch live opening of this year's tour. Nothing sounds better than Tool live...enjoy!
PNEUMA!!!! Follow the order of the album, and you'll enjoy the intense emotional story that each song delivers. It's truly a masterpiece in its entirety. And in each song.
Awesome album! Those of us who have been listening for 25+years...Lateralus album is excellent. If you want to hear some raw Tool, Undertow is priceless
*naïve, not lying *Division, not delusion (Official Deluxe Ed. Lyrics) BTW, it has a rectangular sticker on front of the clear packaging that remains adhesive, having been peeled off. If you fold it into "to-" and "-ol", it becomes the inoculation device or needle.
The title track song gives me some strong Current 93/Coil vibes (intro especially)...Thelemic ritual Magick! Lovely... fun fact: the symbol Danny has on his drum heads is the Unicursal hexagram; Golden Dawn & Aleister Crowley. As above, so below...
They all write their own music. Maynard writes the lyrics, Adam writes all the guitar, Justin writes all the bass riffs, and Danny writes for the drums. Enjoy the ride.
My dream is for Floor Jansen and Maynard Keenan to do a song together. And also Floor Jansen and Bruce Dickinson. :) Also I'm sorry if this is posted somewhere, but I make jewelry and I'd love to make you something Sistah! Not sure if you've got a spot for fan mail, but I'd also like to know what your favorite colors are and if you've metal allergies I'd need to avoid!
Like everyone is saying, though. Pneuma. It's a f'ing masterpiece of their many masterpieces. One day y'all will get to it, and I'll be there, watching.
Next up Pneuma. It is my favorite track off this one.
i think i have to agree
2nd fav (after 7empest).
I don't understand the hate some people have for this album. It's an absolute masterpiece.
for me, the best album.
It is a very good one but not a masterpiece to me :)
Probably most of the hate come from Thrash metal fans , lmao no skill
@@m.94 so, you're saying bands like Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax, Exodus, Testament, etc., have no skill? GTFOH with that mess.
You need to listen to more of this masterpiece of an album!
Start with Pneuma!
P. N. E. U. M. A.
Reach out.. Beyond..
Just watched Tool in concert last night. Best show ever.
Hell yeah I missed it unfortunately..
I had floor seats in SLC last month. I agree, best show I've ever been to. And I've been going to concerts since the early 90's.
Seeing them in January! Can not wait
Crazy good.. No need to see anything after a Tool concert.
Hard to get, but Live is even better than the albums.. Better sound, everything is better Live.
Not many artist Can do that
@Chaos how was it? 😊
Justin (Bass), Adam (Guitarist and synths) and Danny (Drums, synths, and digital drums) all write the music first. Once the music is written, Maynard comes in and layers the vocals into the composition.
One drummer, one amazing drummer!
Kenneth Powell One drummer, 8 arms.
He's a modern day Neil Peart
Tool ~ 'Invincible' is a great song
My dad passed away right before this album released. That song makes me cry every time I listen to it.
@@azschrreff that was very sweet, thank you kind internet stranger
Invincible is the best from this album for me. I love the message of lyrics and Danny's drumming...well shit, mind blowing
If you find a girl who likes Tool. Shes a keeper 😂
Man ur hot Woman! From Finland
And if she can bang like tool you will be a picasso :v
Pneuma, descending, culling voices and 7empest are my favorites. I haven't put this album down since it came out, its amazing!
Culling voices is so under rated love that song
That makes two of us, I can’t stop listening to it
Culling voices!!!!! What an amazing bunch of riffs!
Descartesdom77 Pneuma/Invincible/Descending ... my favorite is whichever I heard most recently.
Agreed about this song, but I have Pneuma/7empest/Invincible as all equal best song for me.
My least favorite too. But still great. Descending is my life.
@@DylanSterling True dat!
I think 7empest is my favorite, I just love how it starts strong and doesnt let up. Its a powerhouse of a song.
Great tour of the new album! I was lucky enough to catch this track live a few weeks ago. Decending, Invincible, and Pneuma also were absolutely mind blowing. Thanks for posting!
Pneuma....Just Do it!
(Please)
Eduardo Ribeiro I’m a big fan of the fact that you said please.
I'll second that! Yes Pneuma please!!
I just had the honor and pleasure of seeing Tool live in Boston on the 14th of November and they opened with this song. It's my third time seeing them live...and guys....seriously...if you get a chance to see them, TAKE IT....they can and do play this song to perfection live and its a hell of an opener! The worldly percussive sounds were programmed into and played on electronic drum pads by Danny.
Its so amazing to watch you truly "react" to the music. :D I love how he just nods along and she's moving her whole body and especially her face to the music. :D Thats just so cute. ^^

those are call & response volume swells from the guitar and bass in the beginning
Shit is like catnip for my soul.
You two are awesome!! The way in which she physically reacted to the song in this video, is exactly how I internally react to every Tool song, no matter how many times I've heard them... SUBBED!!!
Cant wait to see you two react to Pneuma and Descending from this album
I really hope to see alot more Tool on this channel ❤
Great vid! Great reaction! This album is gonna blow your mind! Next... Pneuma!
I know its already been said but Pneuma is a must.
Danny Carey just dominates that song with the drums, it's amazing!
Tool will make your third eye shed a tear.
😂 Holy fuck that's funny!

This song haunts me in my moments of quite. It's an achey, restless feeling. It's telling me to rise and fight the Tempest.
I feel like I'm alone on this, but Descending is my favorite. The guitar solos are out of this world!
You two are dope. Between the beard taps and her... everything, i gotta watch more of you. :)
Thank you 🥰🤗💖✊🏾🤘🏾
There's just one drummer. Danny Carrey. He is insane. Adam Jones (Guitar) Justin Chancellor (Bass) and Danny write the "Sounds," Maynard calls them. Then they send the Sounds to Maynard and he puts lyrics to it once they are finished.
So much more Tool for her to get into. Love the channel guys.
After my first Tool listen a long time ago I had to say to myself "no more I can't take it" while going into a huge spiral of emotions blasting out of me and this lasted for hours, days even ...
Fun fact: the new Tool logo resembles a syringe when folded in half.
The more I watch you guys, the more I adore sistah. She's precious!
"This is too much!" lol I'm never gonna unhear that
Whenever I hear this song, I close my eyes and imagine they are playing it at Red Rocks (I live in Colorado) on a cool summer night.
I'll be seeing them live in DC in about 3.5 hours. Cant wait
Please do Pneuma next, song changed my life. It’s Danny Carey’s masterpiece. Some of the best drumming you’ve ever heard. The man is either and extremely talented human, or slightly above average octopus. Dying to see you guys hear it.
Love the reaction she feels music like I do.. When the music touches you in such a way. I enjoyed this.
My friends. The whole album is transcendent. I hope you enjoy it.

Love y'alls reactions!! Can't wait to see Tool in Dallas in January! 13 yrs in the making!
Robert Heath I’ll be there as well
Hellyeah brother
You have to do every track off this album!
Everyone over here suggesting Pneuma when I'm sitting in the corner knowing that Descending is equally as good if not better. Sigh.
This music literally makes me cry it has so much power and emotion.
Please do the whole album guys! 🙏🏼🤘🏼
Adam is using a pedal to do volume swells on the guitar at the beginning. Each track is better than the next too.Danny Carey is an amazing drummer and it is just him playing.

Probably too soon to ask for another but I believe you guys have to do Pneuma with us
Awesome album! Those of us who have been listening for 25+years...Lateralus album is excellent. If you want to hear some raw Tool, Undertow is priceless
Sick editing! 👏👏👏
What she was feeling is called Tool ecstasy. Welcome to our world.
Thinking that there’s more than one drummer is the best complement for Danny Carey. And no, he does it all live every night by himself.
Adam Jones and Justin Chancellor write the music. Maynard writes the lyrics.

Loved your Joe Satriani reaction, looking forward to this, will comment after I watch this.
My fave on the new album is Invincible but this one I love too, I like to listen to this one lying inbed at night in the dark.
Parbol+ Parabola , Lateralus, Wings for Marie pt 1 + 2 that is all thank you :)
Please do Descending from Tool. It’s one of the most transformative experiences I’ve had in a long time
Volume pedal on guitar... Sounds like a cello sometimes. Love TOOL
Nope. Volume knob on guitar buddy.
I like your intro 🤘, the prefect circle
Only 1 drummer.... and Danny Carey is living proof that the world only needs 1 drummer
You rock Half Life Sistah
7empest is my fav off the new album...I love it all but, yeah, 7empest
A lot of people say this wasn’t a tool album. It’s actually a Danny Carey album, everyone else just happened to show up 😂 🤣

Never heard this song before?? 7:53 mark you nailed it bravo
Practicing a section at a time mixed with muscle memory, and you can learn it in a few days even just as a moderate musician.
Dude just casually name drops King’s X? 🤘🏻😆🤘🏻
They all write their own music. Maynard writes the lyrics, Adam writes all the guitar, Justin writes all the bass riffs, and Danny writes for the drums. Enjoy the ride.
This song is a good marble stone, Pneuma is La Pieta
wait till the next song, Pneuma. This album is insanely great.
Pneuma!!!! TOOL..
Yeah but just imagine if Tool had a song called 'What's Poppin!'
My dream is for Floor Jansen and Maynard Keenan to do a song together. And also Floor Jansen and Bruce Dickinson. :)

I agree on Pneuma = ) appreciate it all.
Rosetta Stoned will never be upgraded.
halflifesister has the vibe
I can’t believe you guys haven’t done parabol and parabola with lyrics
Pneuma is probably the best song tool does. Gotta do that one. Im telling you.
I wish my wife enjoyed Tool like this lady 😂
Like everyone is saying, though. Pneuma. It's a f'ing masterpiece of their many masterpieces. One day y'all will get to it, and I'll be there, watching.
Gotta do 7empest, Invincible, and/or Pneuma!
How could they ever Top their new EPIC CD?.....Their absolute Highlight/Peak in their Career !!!!
