If you think I'm gonna watch a 40 min review you're totally right.
haha Love this
🤘🏼🖤🤘🏼☺️
That's exactly my thought process lol
totaly!!!
Only from these guys though, normally I hate reaction channels but these guys are the sole exception
2 Tool songs that are not very requested but deserve a chance: Jambi and Right in Two
theyd flip over right in two’s lyrics. especially george
Right in two is my favorite tool song.
Jambi, that drop....
Third Eye !
Jambi has some of my favorite guitar work ever.
The comment made about “if you never got into Tool, it’s because you never actively listened to Tool. You just can’t casually listen to the them and appreciate it” is a spot on comment. You’re absolutely right brother.
2:33 "Mmm, I just love the way..."
His thought trails off whilst he listens intently, but we all know exactly what you mean man. We know.
Awesome observation! I missed that.
Tool - Right in Two!!
Hell yeah!!! they would flip out how beautiful that song is.
Right. In. Twwwooo.
Yes! They would love this!
Yeah I've been telling them about right in two since I first heard them do 46&2
Omg its a must for those guys
I've been sitting on the toilet for over 40 minutes now. My legs won't work anymore.
Andrew Peterson u must b @work!
Me every day.
Lmfao
Amateur
Current situation 🤣🤣🤣
46 years old, heard of tool, never heard them though. yesterday first time, now I'm 22 to again.....drumming in the living room and base in the bedroom. helllll yeah
I, being a 53 yr old woman who raised 2 kids alone, enjoying 3 grandchildren now ❤ and HUSH being the first tool song I remember hearing, Invincible at this point, sums up life for me in reflection, yet empowers my roaring strength and fight that I still have left, in this game of life.
Turning 53 soon. I'm with you! 🎯🙏💗🍻🙌
❤
Read a thing saying the albums are mindsets through life... Unintended poetry...
@AJB CARS just seen Tool on the 10th... It was my first time... Tool is my all time favorite... It was beyond words... Im a different person now...
@AJB CARS but we had The Acids Helps as the opener... Not bad... But then again... The acid helps... 😂
These guys truly get Tool, and how Tool fans treat Tool. I love how they understand why we love this group, but also understand why some just cant get into them.
So.. they're Tool fans then
And it's good to see he was honest about how he felt about tool, and didn't get torn to pieces over it
More respect for you guys with each video.
2 Days ago? Whoa.
My friends and I discuss the patience and maturity needed to appreciate this patient and mature album. I agree that the fellas get it!
Why not do other songs on the album? We’re tool fans, we don’t mind waiting.
Bruh.. lmao
🤣🤣🤣🤣 but true, tho
Well played indeed
Yes!!!!
😂😂😂
I am a relatively new Tool fan, I discovered their music on this channel actually. I have listened to all their songs, and I really don't know if there will ever be a band of Tool's calibre. The most incredible band I have ever heard
I am not the biggest Tool fan ever, but this song is an absolute masterpiece, very very relatable.
MASTERPIECE
Which song you are talking about ??
"Tears in my eyes
Chasing Ponce de Leon's phantom
So filled with hope
I can taste mythical fountains
False hope, perhaps
But the truth never got in my way
Before now, feel the sting
Feeling time bearing down"
Writing does not get any better than this
Antonio Manuel Míguez Vega no it really doesn't get any better 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
He's the best.
my favorite part is the first time he sings it, he does it in a resigned/sad voice, and the last time is in a defiant/accept my fate type of way.
@@MrZugga This is why I tend to prefer the live recordings. You can really hear the poignant beauty of that section from the voice of an old warrior
I don't know how I stumbled into this channel, but I just watched an impossibly long review of an impossibly long song and my faith in humanity has been restored.
King ktf..Also a awesome reaction channel
Welcome to the tool box.
Here with you. Snowed in on a long weekend. I'm going deep in their catalog
Thats what I said about Tool
I couldn't put it any better.
I was a promising college athlete and wrecked my back when I was 19. Lost scholarship, all that fun stuff. Parabol/Parabola was always a theme song of mine "all this pain is an illusion" Now at 40 yrs old and all broken down with titanium holding my spine together, this song speaks to me a lot as well.
How did you wreck your back?
I'm almost 33. Did Tree work my whole life and I'm a little guy,but I gave everything I had,so it broke my body down as well. Now,I struggle even having the stamina to go check the mail. But I relate SO much to this song also.
@@FranzJrob I was helping my parents move when I first hurt it...turns out I have a bunch of genetic issues.
@@IamJdTrent Damn that sucks man, hope you're able to fight it enough to not be miserable. Finding a way to still enjoy life is the key, hard to do when in constant pain though.
@@yuibot5998 Thanks,same to you
"we're only 4 mins in" is such a tool thing to say 😂
Tool - The Grudge
Edit: this did not age well lol
Tool. Pick a song ;) All worthy
Their best song
John Smith my all time favorite, that song song helped me quit smoking cigarettes.
This is definitely the next song they need to listen to.
Yep... The grudge
"parabol" and parabola" definitely worth a listen.
In my opinion the best pre song/song combo they have. Always have to listen to both and always all the way through
Ticks and Leeches too!!
I want them to do Parabol & Parabola too!
Agreed! Lost Keys/Rosetta Stoned has to be right behind that though 🤘🏼
They got to see them live in Vegas a couple months ago so I think they got to hear it already.
Until these two review Descending and 7empest I can not die.
Right!? Descending is my favorite.
Descending is my favorite on this album, i wonder if its my favorite of all their work. It takes me somewhere i cant express .
Descending is ridiculously heavy. It’s like being bludgeoned with the highest levels of renaissance sculpture.
Descending is a masterpiece
YESS
It did happen to me straight up.
I had never gotten into Tool. Had listened to all their albums at least once back 2 or 3 years ago, but it was a "it's cool, but doens't quite do it for me" kind of reaction. Strange given that it's a style of music I really enjoy in general.
About a month and a half ago I was in the gym, didn't feel like listening to anything in particular and thought "let's do some Tool". Played the first album. And sure enough, it was a combo of me having to do nothing else other than paying attention to the music and that it sounded damn good in those headphones, but they went right fucking into my brain.
Since then I've been on a Tool rampage listening to them like 75% of the time I'm listening to music (which is many hours of the day). And I've both listened to and grabbed my guitar to play Pneuma don't even wanna know how many times.
In a matter of a day Tool jumped into my top favourite bands. I'ts quite insane how great their music can sound once they do click.
Ryan is 100% right that you can’t really listen casually to a band like Tool because the music demands your full attention.
Aaaaand a long attention span which most oh this braindead society dont have
The song is about getting old... It's about reminiscing about the crazy days of your youth, and how you felt invincible, but now in your 40s you're just beating tired bones, your invincible armour is wearing thin, and your shield is heavy.
macgonzo Your shield’s even heavier in your 50’s
Yup, nearly brought me to tears the first time I heard it. Crazy this song comes out when I'm going through just that.
@@Adam-qs5ir same here, I'm 44 next month... I was like "I feel personally attacked" when I first heard this song 🤣🤣
macgonzo I agree with you that’s what this song is about it’s a heartbreaking and beautiful song. But one of the things that I find amazing about it is that it applies to so many other things too. I’m only 24 but this song really hits me because I find it to be the story of anyone who feels like they’re falling out with the world around them. Like they no longer have a place because how they’ve spent their life is no longer how the world works and they’re being forced to either adapt or fall away. That’s how I feel on a daily basis. The more the world changes the less connected I feel to it and society and I find myself always trying to figure out how the life I’ve lived for the short time I’ve lived it can be fit into it now.
Or it is about how an old soldier isn't feeling as valued as they once used to be.
Listening to this song live is a WHOLE different experience. I remember when they started this song and being so amped. Just waiting for the climax. The crowd went INSANE
Facts yo!! Was like a spiritual experience
I am SO addicted to this song! I try to stop listening to it, fearing that I’ll get tired of it. But it keeps showing up and I love it more each time I hear it.
This song reminds me who i am, i feel you
Of all Tool songs, The Grudge is a must.
Let Go, Let Go, Let It Go...
Seconded. Beautiful chaos.
Oh yeah. The Grudge or Parabol/Parabola.
It has everything you could ever want from a Tool song plus Maynard in god mode and possibly Danny's best drum performance with the outro
The Grudge saved my life.
first i was upset that the songs on this album are so long. I couldn't even finished one during my way back home from work. I'm not upset anymore. I take the longer route. Problem solved.
eksodus well played
Modern problems require modern solution. 👍
👍🏾 , I just go to Houston which is an hour and back which is another hour so I can listen to the album twice ..............after I get off of work.... don’t judge me
The more I listen to this album, the more I realize these songs AREN'T LONG ENOUGH!
@@valormafia7721 worth it
Many pan this TOOL LP as not a fave ..I personally love it. It’s such a cerebral journey that deserves your 100% attention without distractions. I usually listen to it in its entirety, reclined with my headphones…eyes closed. Smoke some flower, it’s even better 😎
Honestly, Tool reactions are the most epic on your channel. On behalf of all your subscribers, please do more. Thank you!
Lost in Vegas knows how to do Christmas.
George's would've been complete with a Chocolate Chip Trip xD
But they broke the 2 year trend with Metallica reactions though....
purple beard they released Metallica for Christmas on Patreon
@@Seccles_11 I stumbled over to their patreon and saw they did do one.... but the last two times the YT video has been there on the day. But I guess when Patreon drops over it could be different.
Ryan is absolutely right about actively and casually listening to Tool
It's only after you actively listen to them can you causally listen
You have to let your ears submit to the wall of sound that is Tool.
Absolutely
@@marykate992 I think you can "melt" into the newer albums (from lateralus onward) in a more relaxed fashion. I definitely can put this in my car and just set it as the "soundtrack" for my day. The older albums I rock out to more as they are more aggressive. The new stuff I feel more viscerally.
I think that’s why people get annoyed with Tool fans, we know that if you really listened then you would at least appreciate the musicianship.
19:40 Tool's transitions are beyond anything. Adam's ability to set up the next set of riffs by blending it into the current riff is elite and makes the transitions feel so smooth and natural.
@Tim Brandt i agree to this so so much. It's such a difficult thing to smoothly transition into the things tool does. It's so complex that people don't see it and just think it's simple. Which is the beauty of it. There is so much going on to their music than meets the eye. Every bar every second every note is played thoughtfully.
@@kunalkumar8217Reminds me of nature. Extremely complex in its entirety, but take a look with another perspective..and you see simplicity, presence, and beauty.
This song has the nastiest breakdown in music history.
You mean at 9:34 (in the actual song?) I completely agree. I always turn my volume up right at that part
Yes exactly. The drumming on this part just rips my soul.
“What’s your favorite Tool song on Fear Innoculum?”
Whatever song I’m listening to.
Same here mate. Maybe the best album of the decade.
My favorite song on Fear Inoculum is Fear Inoculum...and its 85 minute long.
The only answer is just, "yes"
How about ALL
@@doorshotel Album of the century. Hands down
The power of TOOL . ."This really is beautiful" . . 5 minutes later he's bangin' his head with the Stank face on.. "This is SO nasty"
😂😂 right?
I love watching their reactions. Especially when their reactions coincide with my own. Gives me goosebumps watching these guys
Every time I watch this, I lol when they move from "this is nastay!" to "this is disGUSting!"
Maynard always does the same process with all his bands. They write the music then give it to him, and he adds lyrics, Allowing each artist to craft their talent, and him bringing up the back end ready to record.
Re: 9:00 Truth. A Tool fan wants to share/introduce someone to the band - "Let me have 13 minutes of your undivided, fully engaged attention. No, you can't talk, you just have to listen." Many people don't have the attention span to engage with the music on that time scale. This tune brought me to tears the first time I rode it. The sense of loss I felt at the first faux ending at about 7 mins was unbelievably deep, and the elation that followed as it continued without a pause was equally high. The second faux ending with the measure of silence, again, felt like a friend had died, when they kicked back in for the last 2 minutes I was legit screaming "YEAH!!!!! IT'S NOT OVER!!!!" while driving alone down the highway. So filling.
Ive stopped choosing which song I like most on this album. It changes every listen and i dont care which one is best, they are all brilliant.
Gerard Vermaat same. I can’t pick a favorite.
Preach
Gerard Vermaat the best song is the one that is playing
happens to me with the whole discography lmao ... so many hits
Absolutely agree with this.
Dear LostInVegas. Tool is coming to Las Vegas January 17 th. To the T-Mobile arena Don't miss it. The songs you love are even better in person. Please go and do a video talking about the experience!!!
OMG yes! It's truly such a unique and incredible experience that you will always remember. I could not recommend it more.
Just saw them November in Raleigh, NC. You’re right, album is great but live is another level! There were a few times where, I personally, stood there in awe of just how tight these guys sound live. Then add all the visual effects. That show alone will probably ruin every other concert I’ll go too.
I’m there!!!!
YOU MUST SEE THEM LIVE JAN 17TH IN LV!!! DONT FORGET THE SHROOMS
Saw them in Phoenix in October and it was so epic and loud, I swear my ears were ringing for 2 days
This song helped me retire on my own terms from the Army. Had a long career but at the end, relevant and consequential really rung through. Who the hell makes a Ponce De Leon reference count like that. Feeling time bearing down, Amazing. Culling Voices is also amazing. Hope you enjoyed the concert. Saw them , for the second time on this tour, the next night in Phoenix and absolutely destroyed the place, even better than the first show.
Tool are masters at dynamics and polyrhythms. It doesnt sound like a jumbled up mess because they understand musically where to land on the "ONE" after separate parts and time signatures. Being a musician and percussionist in bands...that is EXTREMELY difficult to do. It is so easy to get lost. These guys have mastered it. They hardly ever hang out in 4/4. Love it. No words.🤘
7empest won grammy awward for best metal song. You HAVE to do it.
YESSSS!!!
Agreed
We need to spam their social media and other youtube content for this.
💪 facts
7empest has to be done .🤟👊
One of the best Christmas gifts I could have asked for.
Totally
Same here man
I’m a huge member of the Tool army, pun intended. What I really like is how Tool’s songs hold up amongst the musicality and their sound. 1 thing I love is that Maynard’s lyrics are so poignant and relevant going back to the days of Opiate all the way through. I first watched this review the day you released it and I keep coming back to it as your review of it is a bit like Tool’s music. It’s stands up to the test of time too. Same in other reviews going back to Iron maiden, Rush, Opeth etc etc.
Love the old and new reviews.
Keep them coming guys!
Turned 40 in August, my father died 3 weeks ago, this song speaks to me now on another level. Thank you Tool for helping me to cope.
Sorry for your loss.
These guys are awesome though, they def help keep your spirits up. They bring such a positive energy. Stay well.
What I actually love the most is how everyone was, at first, saying the album was underwhelming because it wasnt as heavy as some albums and even too complex.
But now people are united in their discussion about what song is the biggest masterpiece worthy for an analysis. Its just such an awesomely balanced album... Every song is unique and deeply layered
The album it's kind of growing on me. Now I really like it even though I think it could use some "heavyness"
It's an album that takes time to grow on you and that is the sign of a masterpiece for me. I've had it on repeat since release and still not tired of it which is impressive !
@@TheHrondon48 Glad to see you come around. What started to win you over?
Nah, it's still a weak Tool album.
@@reishin6 and as a human being, you have the right to an opinion.
Never clicked so fast on a video.
I listened to the entire album 4 times through when it dropped on Spotify, and like all the Tool albums before, I was not gripped. But, I know Tool has a slow-burn-on-the-soul effect, so I trusted if I kept listening, each song would emerge. This is why Tool is my favorite band; the songs don’t capture or infect me, like ear-worm ridden pop songs do; they are more like intricate landscapes my inner light illuminates as it gets turned on and tuned up.
Totally. It took me like 5 careful listens to 7empest to really get ut
Same. And even if i listen to any song from FI now which i do everyday i find so many new things new nuances in every song man. They are just on another level. It makes me emotional to think how they make such music! I am just unable to put it in words.
@@kunalkumar8217 same dude!
Ryan nailed it when he talked about how you can't casually listen to Tool and really appreciate everything put into the music. That's why you always hear something new every time you listen. Spot on Ryan.
Listening to Tool in itself is an education, and watching these two loosing thier shit and analyzing Tools songs is a bonus! I mean....its a 40 minute reaction and yet see the number of views...
Maynard writes the melody AFTER the instrumental is done, which is why it fits so well. Also, seeing them live is even better, so I echo the comment that you should see them while they are in LV.
And even crazier is a fair amount of songs the last 2 albums were laid down by Danny as a drum instrumental. Then Justin and Adam come up with their parts. Shit unless they're touring all 4 of them are never in the same state let alone the same room lol
I’ll be seeing them Jan 28th in Atlanta. Pretty pumped about it
I'll be there can't wait 8 days! It's been since 98 seeing them,very excited for this show😁
Truth. Maynard has said in multiple interviews over the years that he pretty much just checks in with the guys every now and again. "Hey, got anything sort-of-finished?"
"No"
"Okay, cool. See you next week"
When they do get something done, Maynard tries to write lyrics and melodies that capture the same feeling the instrumentals do. Damned good.
Vicarious Vicarious Vicarious

These 4 musicians are so tapped with spirit. Being so intrinsically connected to spirit enables such unique improvisations within the layers adding to the richness and texture they contribute, individually.
Its funny how Gerorge talks about how they let Danny loose and do his thing in the song, not knowing there is an entire drum solo track on the album.
Everyone in the world is a Tool fan, there's some that just don't know it yet.

Right in Two might be my favorite Tool song of all. If the song was an instrumental only, it would be incredible by itself. But with Maynard's lyrics, this song strikes a chord and is more poignant today than it has ever been.
The album is the best song on the album.
And Descending
Wut
This one and Descending are the best!

Black Demon That would be awesome 🤯🤯
Adam Jones will absolutely melt their faces off
I would bet they wouldn't like it nearly as much. I love 7empest, but its easily one of the weaker tracks on the album. Ryan and George seem to appreciate the song writing more so than the jam sessions
@@massthetics1013 well maybe they won't enjoy it as much as pneuma and invicible overall but I'm sure that they gonna love those crazy riffs. I don't think that is fair to call this piece of work "weak" but on the other hand that shows how ridiculously good are all the other tracks.
@@musicalgrowth7952 7empest isn't weak at all. I just meant by comparison. You're right, it does highlight how powerful the tracks are!
Totally agree with the 'Active Listening' comment. If you just try to casually listen, the music's complexity it self would just confuse, and without the lyrics the soul of the music is not there.
This is the example of why you don't judge a Tool song just by listening to the beginning of the song.
This is a masterpiece for the soul. It hits on all levels. Wow.
This song is basically: Do we still got it?
f*ck yeah we do
I almost feel like this song was Tool asking themselves if they can still do the same thing they started with - that sheer aggression, Maynard's energy - "Weapon out and belly in" referring to his old hunched over position when singing - and realizing that they don't HAVE to do the same thing anymore. They can do new things and still have their strength. My thoughts, anyway
Couldn’t have said it any better. The more I listen to it, the better it gets.
The song is more about coping with age than the success of their music careers. The fear of getting old and the acceptance of it as you acknowledge your past accomplishments and coming to grips with the fact that you’re older and past the prime “warrior” days. False hope perhaps but the truth never got in my way until now (accepting getting old, seeing the truth) feel the sting feeling time bearing down (age is undeniable). It’s not a flex. It’s an acceptance of mortality.
Jesse Kincel Weapon out and belly in is the stance of a young hungry warrior, puffed out chest, weapons out, belly in. Immortal and unafraid of challenge. Understand your analogy but I’m sure MJK wasn’t referencing his hunch stance on stage here.
shaking like tremolo Yessir.
Tool - The Grudge is an absolute must
The Grudge is in my Top 5 all time.
"This is cold" is the best three word review of Fear Inoculum

Parabol is something else....
The star they use in their concerts is the same star in the apple.
...otherwise it would indeed be a Sin
23 minutes in and you haven't even hit the halfway point of the song because the ramp up keeps rocking your skull -- yeah, its a Tool review! Love it. Even if you don't review it, you gotta listen to 7empest, because it is just an absolute masterpiece.
They have to atleast listen on their personal time and tell us in another video even if it’s really quick. 7empest is great! So sad. Maybe if we bombard them horrendously, they’ll do it. 😂
Lurch into the fray--weapon out and belly in. That, to me is the most powerful visual for this song. Every medieval battle movie I've ever seen comes immediately to mind.
The best album ever recorded
Eulogy, for when you go back to classic tool. Eulogy is a must, or third eye

I feel like TOOL is basically telling a tale of everyone's lives in this song. No matter how different we all are. How we are all warriors who battle others, ourselves, and time itself, ultimately for us all to lose the battle vs time in the end.
Beautifully said.
That;s a brilliant observation and summed up everything I had thought about this song but not articulated. Well played.
YESSSSSSS! That is exactly how I felt first time I heard it on album release day. In a strange way this song brings to me an element of hope and brings a tear to my eye every time I hear it! Thanks for the relatable words.
Maynard's lyrics are really are profound in a lot of songs.
Cool thanx yep!!!!
Tool is a once in a lifetime band. Theyve created their own sound and no one has managed to touch them for 30 years.
I've watched this forty minute review four times. Great job guys!
Back 4 years later. Saw Tool for the first time on Sunday and it was a life changing experience. They played this song…man they’re amazing.
PARABOL/PARABOLA FOR CHRIST SAKE, IT IS A MUST!!
Legend has it, they are still starting and stopping the same part of Danny's solo to this day, discussing it's copious levels of overall and nuanced nastiness.

9. Schism (Great introduction to Tool)
8. 4 degrees (Its nasty. Dark. Goes hard)
7. Opiate (Choices always were a problem for you..)
6. Stinkfist (Perfectly composed. How the lyrics match the sound)
5. Invincible (Their comeback. Its about the notion of death)
4. Aenema (I hate. Its the pinnacle of that era of their evolution)
3. Jimmy (The most personal of all of Maynards performances)
2. H. ( arguably Maynards best written song)
1. Lateralus (Its timeless art)
I thought Wings for Marie/10,000 Days would've been more personal
LATERALUS IS TOOLS KINGPIN!!!
I love you two so much. I'm a thirty years plus Tool fan&I appreciate how you both love them as much as I do.
This song is like building a layer cake. Build the base, then stack and stack and just when you think they're done they pick the whole damn thing up and shove it down your throat.
This song is also unbelievable live. Adds a whole other level that the studio version can't touch.
TorontoJock1 Pneuma 1A, Descending 1B and Invincible 1C...those 3 tracks are the heart of the album for me!!
@@leafsfan1728 Absolutely agree! Three of TOOL's all time best.
To me Pneuma is musical edging while Descending is like an experimental track to see how far you can descend a song into madness. I absolutely love them both.
I remember first liking the chorus repeating itself in this song; then getting a real hit from noticing the layers like you describe. I've heard it now that many times its just one total masterpiece.
Reserve judgement of your favourite tool song until you hear The Grudge and Ticks & Leeches. Will. Not. Disappoint.
Yes! Been wanting them to do those two since they did 46&2. I also would love push it since I think their taste is so we'll developed now.

Best on the album. Best in their catalog. Invincible is my all-time favorite song (dethroning Wish You Were Here). Deal with it, internet.
"We're only 4 minutes in"
Just Tool things.
Prog in general
Yeah doesnt just relate to tool
Tool is playing in Las Vegas soon! You guys need to go! Its a whole other experience.
While I'd like to see them react to songs on the channel, it's a true privilege to see Tool live and agree they should go.
Yep, saw them in DC in Nov. and was awesome!!!!
January 17th!
I’ll be there!!!
Maynard should give these dudez side stage show seats for these awesome reviews!
I had the same ride in terms of Pneuma vs invincible! Now I don’t know which is best…Invincible sure does take it to another level, especially when you see the live version. Adam and Justin turn and play towards Danny during this middle party, about as cool of a thing I’ve ever seen in music. Don’t forget Danny was 58 on this album. Monster!!
Man, you guys have the BEST content. Ya'll deserve your own show.
This is the greatest song Tool has ever done. Ever. It's that epic; the subject matter is powerful, it speaks to so many people and in so many walks of life. It gives me chills every single time I hear it and it's such an emotional journey. This is the pinnacle of Tool for me.
They have been on a different level to anybody else since Lateralus. Thought I'm not sure its the greatest song they've ever done it's definitely the epitome of everything, the thing that brings it full circle. I hope we get more albums though and we don't have to wait another 13 years for them.
@@spyretto Same. 13 years was toooooooo long!
Colin Walker I'd still argue that 7empest is better. 7empest is like a journey through their entire career from Opiate to now...
I'd have a hard time disagreeing with you on that one Damian. Also an epic song.
What do you think this song is about?
BEST SONG ON THE ALBUM. ONE OF THE SONGS PLAYED AT MY LITTLE BROTHER'S FUNERAL. HAD THE PLACE ROCKIN. LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU LITTLE BROTHER.
Sorry for your loss bro.. Keep on keeping on💪
@@auunnfkristjansson6738 Really appreciate it bro. Thanks
Damn, you guys are making my day with this! Thank you so much!!
Ryan has that look of intense anticipation and George is just feelin it! You two are killin it! About the 4th time I've watched this and still vibing. 🤘🤘
This has become my favorite tool song, having just turned 40. I feel it resonating in a deep personal place in my soul.
Ill be 42 tomorrow bro. This song captures aging perfectly!
I am a military veteran, and for me this really resonates personally. MY interpretation of this song, how I can relate to it, is how we veterans feel after we got out if the military - "trying to remain relevant".
Amen. I am a vet also and this resonates with me deeply. Reminds me of how Pink Floyd's song the Gunners Dream resonated deeply with me when I was a paratrooper in a long range surveillance unit.
I am not a veteran. I am only 29. But this song speaks to me. Life has not been easy. This song empowers me to view myself as a warrior, and to keep pushing onward. To remain consequential.
Thank you for your service.
@@derekfletcher8934 you ARE consequential bro, hang in there man - life is precious. Doesn't matter that you're not a veteran, life can be hard for anyone. Know that you are never alone in your struggles!
Bang, 59 and an old warrior, I got it the first time.
True story
You 2 are really good at this format. Thanks for the great reviews
You guys are amazing! Getting to hear your guy's opinion just resonates with me. I appreciate it.
Descending is lowkey the best song on the album and deserves more respect. Was hoping it would get a reaction. I agree that you can't skip 7empest! If you think Pneuma is the musical high point, Adam Jones would like a word with you on 7empest.
Citron
absolutely bang on with Descending being the best song on the album.
Glad I’m not the only one thinking Descending is the best song on the album
I actually like that one the least, but it's still a good tool song. Ironic, cause I really liked the instrumental before they released it. But 7empest blows me away more every time I hear it; I'm more of a bass guy and Adam still blows it out of the water
Once I came to terms with the last half of the song being devoid of Maynard, I really came around. The three minute mark and 7 & a half minute mark, two truly blissful moments on Descending.
Pneuma is the musical highpoint of the band.
That’s a great point about not being able to casually listen to Tool. Tool almost demands intense listening to get the full effect of what they want to do. That’s why multiple listenings of their songs can lead to you hearing different things.
Yea I can't listen to Tool often, but whenever I decide to I always thoroughly enjoy them.
I’m still hearing new things on Opiate!!
1 year later, still come back to this one
Great video, spot on commentary, it was nice vibing with yall while listening to this song
