Michael Kellinski; You may save yourself some trouble by making sure the file will open with Note Pad. When you power up the board and insert the flash drive, press the "Q" button, within the first 30 seconds or so of the BIOS yellow LED flashing, the power supply cooling fan ran for about 5 seconds on low speed. It took about 5 minutes for the process to complete. As mentioned in the video, when the process has been completed, you will hear a click from the power supply and the flashing yellow LED will be off.
The file rename part was the key, I appreciate your help!

I need to do this for my first build. I actually started doing it yesterday and I was going to update bios but my motherboard was dead on arrival. At first I thought I bricked the MB but I was grounded and put the correct atx pins and inserted the usb. But MB was dead so luckily my new MB is coming today and Amazon refunded my original payment in full so basically I got a free MB
you dont have to have the cpu power connected since theres no cpu in the socket, logic please, 24 pin power is enough
is it bad i forgot to take my ram out of the slots before i flashed the bios? i don’t wanna damage the ram but i also don’t wanna take it out while the pc is flashing the bios
hi , so i just got a gigabyte b550m ds3h, and the r5 5600, i was wondering if i should just update the bios to the latest version available or just the version for the ryzenn 5000 cpus
How long does this process normally take? My board is stuck on 00 debug code and the D Ram led is solid now for ten minutes. Using the Gigabyte Vision B550 D-P board. Q Flash stopped blinking a while ago now.
Mines doing the same thing, did it turn off eventually?
@@JacquelinGaribay Nope... I just powered down eventually and hoped for the best. Fortunately nothing bad happened. I changed the BIOS version to the latest and it worked fine and took 5 minutes... BIOS version was the problem... If the debug code is 00 the I believe the MoBo is error free and right to turn off...
@@neonzeon4236 having same problem... after your powered down, did you change the bios without the cpu again or did you move forward with the build and update bios with cpu?
@@wearethetelevision I powered down with no worries... 00 debug code was showing so I guessed it was fine it was... I just turned it off, got the most up to date bios, and started again... No CPU... I also changed my USB stick to one with a flashing red light when it is reading...
I think my first recommendation would be using a usb stick with a light that confirms you are reading the stick
Bro when i check my setup in website it says
Warning! *Some AMD B550 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Vermeer CPUS. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions*
do i really need 2 cpus?
Is it necessary to remove CPU, GPU ,RAM ..when i use Q-Flash-Plus method ?
Would this process be the same with a Gigabyte Aorus B660 Pro AX D4 mATX? Would me doing this flashing to the latest bios make it compatible with a 13th gen intel CPU?
ok., now doit with no flash button, and no old cpu ....
Sir may i ask.. im using same mobo. After 2 mos I encountered blue screen with error CLOCK WATCH TIMEOUT, do you have any idea or tutorial how to fix this?
how to name on NZXT mainboard? pllz
If I have the B550 Vison D-P do I still have to update the motherboard BIOS? Or am I good to go out of the box?
I'm not 100% but as far as I know you should be able to go out of the box. I'd still check for bios updates after the build is complete :)
@@theTechNotice thank you 🙏🏽
@@tritensilva1053 Did you find out if you had to update the bios?
@@robbecallewaert5987 it was good to go out the box. No need for the update
@@tritensilva1053 what cpu are you using ? I just bought one of these b550 Vision d-p mobo and I have a ryzen 5 5600x I have no clue if I need to update the bios or not
The big thing is renaming the file . Not often mentioned . Thanks very much .
Followed your instructions and everything was going smoothly. But after the flashing stop the code 00 and, dram lights and power supply never shutted down. 10 hours later and everything is still on. I am nervous to shut it down and wonder if it worked or not. Any tips appreciated
Found the culprit. Don't use a 128gb USB Stick. I have retry with a 8GB stick and it took about 5 minutes.
👍😉
I have the same problem right now, the PSU never shut off, can I just turn off the PSU and try it with another USB-Stick?
I’m attempting to flash the bios on my ASUS ROG STRIX B550 f gaming wifi motherboard. Can I just download the latest update on a usb stick. Then just as done in your video connect the power supply to the motherboard, and plug in the usb stick and update the bios.
Yes you can (I know this is late)
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN VISION D AND VISION D-P
AND HOW MUCH USB STORAGE WE NEED
8 gb,16 gb or 32 gb
D-P has front panel USB-C and 2.5G LAN.
@@theTechNotice thank you
THis B550 board is hard to find these days. Even checked your amazon link. I want to build workstation with R9 3900x and looking for this motherboard. Or can you suggest a budget mobo please?
they replaced it with the vision D-P.
I wish it was as easy as this makes it seem. I have to deal with File renamers and such NONSENSE. Is this a quirky ASUS thing?
i looked for the motherboard with white back... additionally I wanted to have at least 2 usb-c connectors on back + 1 on front ... and this version DP thanks to you is now for me the obvious choice... regarding the bios update button.. i think it's wiser to have it inside your case :) so your small kids will not push it while discovering the world :D so this motherboard should also recieved "Child Friedly" certificate ;) thank you for your job with this ... I was wondering if not to get Asus ProArt Creator, but the only advantage wich I will not even benefit from now is thunderbolt 4, on the other side - no wifi + bluetooth.. black backplate :/ is there anything better there with Asus Creator besides thunderbolt?
hey mate, how do you know if you need to update your bios?
If Ryzen 5000 works then you might not have to, if it doesn't you need to flash the board.
Hey i have the same motherboard and a 5600X. My button does not make a light turn on. I am updating to the f13c update that is currently available off GB website. I should be getting power. Do you think I already messed up? Kinda freaking out bc of 1 led light right now haha... What could I be doing wrong?
Did it work?
Hey everyone, maybe someone in the comment section could help me out. I currently have the F10 update version of the Gigabyte Vision b550 d. I followed the steps accordingly for the latest update but when I check the motherboard version on the command prompt it still shows I have the F10 version. If someone knows a solution it would be greatly appreciated, Thank you.
How long does it usually take? It’s 00 flashing orange dot and Dram light is on
10-15 min.
It took my system about 6 - 8 minutes...felt like 30 minute though ;)
I have the exact same motherboard, and the exact same flash drive that im using to flash the motherboard….
What size flash drive do you need
I think it's 8gb minimum even though the files on it will be less then 2MB. 🤔
Awesome! Thanks for the video
How about supermicro?
hi, does Gibabyte b550 Vision {D-P} version natively support ryzen 5900x? without having to do the bios update? Thank you!
It should, but BIOS update is recommended regardless, coz often it's not shipped with the latest version.
Think it’s working be CAREFUL to get the correct motherboard lol. I have the b550 vision D-P. Tried to push the bios for the d not the d-p. Luckily it didn’t take it. It flashed and the red leds never turned on. I quickly got the correct bios and everything is happening as the video shows and looks like it just completed time to toss all my hardware on and get this thing bootedddd
It didn’t come with supported bios out the box ?
Connected Corsaire RX850 PS to CPU and D-P version motherboard power connections. Created BIN file on flash drive per your instructions. Powered up, inserted flash drive in BIOS slot, pressed the button for several seconds and nothing. No led's, no numerals displayed on 7 element indicators. Did I miss something in the video? A switch or something? Going to install the Ryzen 5950 CPU when the BIOS update issue is resolved. Great videos! Great content as well. If anybody has an answer to this problem, I would appreciate your input.
same issue here, im trying as i write this... i have corsair RM750X and the B550 Vision D Motherboard. I followed all steps in the video but when i press the qflash button nothing happens. kept it pressed even for 10 seconds but no flashing light.
PSU is definitely switched on?
@@theTechNotice Got it to work! When saving the file, windows changed the "Opens with" program to explorer. I switched the opening program to Word Pad. We will be putting the unit together today. If there is any problems with it, I will provide updates. Thanks again for your response.
@@theTechNotice yep.. will try tomorrow a PSU test with the paper clip bridge on the green and black wire and a case fan to see if it spins. Also, i will try to format the USB on a windows laptop and also use a different USB stick. pretty hard as there's no led light indicating if the MB is on. Not sure if those qflash lights can blink without a usb stick inserted first
Michael Kellinski; You may save yourself some trouble by making sure the file will open with Note Pad.
Ok. Got Gigabyte b450m, and what can I do?! Nothing! :D
Thx for good video help plss im can put ryzen 5 4500 on Gigabyte B550M DS3H

The debug LED stays on and won't turn off what do I do?
