If you could imagine these people have been through in the past 80 years, you would cry but then ask yourself how did they do it? and thanks to the sanctions and isolations did on the people, which literally did nothing to the Government but all of it went on the back of the people. Their problem is different from the problem of the world and yet harder. But they never gave up. A little opportunity and they are will be far better than Singapore. Thank you for what you doing, and please don't just say anything that is going to hurt the reputation of the people because you can't really understand what they really want and stand for in life.
The people are the BEST!! And I’m so sad to read all the comments of all the Eritreans living in a free country, with internet, unlimited water and Electricity, sticking up for the government who is making their beautiful people suffer. I am blown away that the “western Eritreans” are not fighting for their people… instead many western Eritreans are putting full blame on the sanctions. There is poor infrastructure in the water supply- the government is responsible for that. Eritrea is directly on the Red Sea which is one of the most valuable resources. The government is not helping the people, instead they are restricting them and not allowing them to prosper. It’s not right.
I agree with you, just like you have stated many Eritreans are supporting the dictator while living overseas. It makes me sad to see that, I hope change will come soon, the blue revolution will win soon God willing. 🙏

Eritrea has been subjected to military sanctions for its military invasion of Ethiopia by violating the international border, as well as for violating diplomatic rules and illegally establishing illegal relations with Somali terrorist groups. No country makes the wrong choice of Eritrea but its own.🤭Who knows the worst is coming

The Italians did not colonize us. They had a settlement in Asmara and there was no war between us and them. There were also intermarriage between the two groups. It wasn’t like what happened in the rest of Africa.
Love this video! As an Eritrean that was born in America, I find it best to visit Eritrea during the months of june-august. Normally Europeans show up around august and Americans are often there late may- june-july. There are often people (other foreigners) there that speak english and Tigrinya during june-july that can help very much to find things.

Years of economic sanctions imposed by the United States with the support of the UN have meant that the Eritrean economy has suffered. The inability of foreign companies to invest or trade with Eritrea. Ethiopia repeatedly attempted to invade Eritrea. The electricity that comes and goes, the internet only in internet cafés and the water that comes intermittently are details if we compare them to the fact that the existence of Eritrea itself had been called into question by the strong international powers. I wish peace and prosperity to my beautiful nation and people. 🇪🇷 🇪🇷 🇪🇷
Wake up and lift up yourself by counting the blessings of Eritrea. You can’t be that demoralized by these sanctions! We bullied so many micro / mid dams and still do Buddy ! Water issues will be solved when we dam our biggest rivers like Mereb, which we will, electric is every African nations concern. In Ethiopia’s capital also electricity comes and goes. We can solve Eritrean energy, usual way using furnace and pump out our own resources gas/oil in the near future. Internet also can be brought, take it easy not a big deal. Sanction will soon be meaningless with the BRICS on world stage will soon replace IMF world bank b.s’

Thank you for visiting Eritrea and also for your honesty. You reported what you saw and also what you felt. That makes your content so interesting. I read a comment that you are surprised by the comments made by some Eritreans living in Diaspora. But not only, also me as an Eritrean as no answer to that. But also, we are not all like that. There are also many who are fighting the injustice back home. Yes, there was sanction by the UN, but that was not the reason for all problems that we have. It's just a brutal dictatorship who is ruling the country was no Constitution, Parliament, and also no freedom of press. The list goes on and on. Thank you for showing me my city that I can no longer visit. Zann, you are the best !
Thank you for your comment! I appreciate your words of support for my video and for some of my response. this video has caused a lot of arguments and angry responses, which was not my intention.
@@ZannParker I think you just a traveller you don’t know nothing about the government and the ppl.the government are living the same way as the masses no luxury cars, they dont send their kids to universities in America everybody is the same in Eritrea. And speaking about us (Eritrean)in the western using internet and getting the basic needs ….how many of your ppl lying on the street of America looking for a cig buts or doing drugs…have ever thought about these ppl….No….you guys even motivate the to do more drugs.
So just enjoy your trip the ppl are friendly
@Zannparker you are absolutely 💯 right. It is sad that eritrean abroad are so nationalists to the extent they can't differentiate right from wrong, while living their best in western countries 😢.
@@ZannParker you are the most hypocrite and political illiterate or you must have an agenda paid by enemies. How can a government sanctioned for more than 20 years in a 33 year independence in a country ravaged by war for independence accomplish all that you mentioned while facing major wars after independence and no war no peace for more than a decade with Ethiopia? It's funny how you guys go preach "democracy aka Libya, Iraq etc.." around the world and living on the back of Africa and other country expenses. And Karen your only aim is to make money and go have fun for a weekend or so but all of us have family members so for you to say that we don't care bout our people is just laughable and there's nothing to fight.. our only fight is the old falling empire that enabled you to roam in our beautiful country while causing our people to immigrate and work abroad in shitty jobs with none or little privileges.

All you haters out there Eritrea is a beautiful country with beautiful people. If any country go through what my country go through believe them you won’t last a year.

@@ZannParker Hi Zann.
I am doing great thanks.
This was indeed a controversial one. I got worried when you couldn’t find a decent hotel for a while and there’s no internet. I’ve read some of the comments and people seem protective of the country which is understandable, but I think they’re focusing on the wrong situation. Africa is full of wonderful, talented people and has lot of natural resources, but lack of good leaders. It is unconceivable to me that an entire country has no internet and very few hours of power during the day.
I hope the rest of your journey goes well. I know you are experienced and know how to take care of yourself.
Much love and be safe.

Shame on you still complaining the western and living in western hypocrisy 😂you love your dictators marriage group, your nationalism is the worst
The sanctions are the leader's fault, not the US or the UN.
Pretext is not working here. See inside.
Go blame the dictator eseyas instead of the United States.
