Baz Luhrmann's movies are always a visual feast. I feel like there aren't enough directors like him working in Hollywood these days, those with a kind of singular vision and distinctive style. Obviously there are some like Denis Villeneuve and Paul Thomas Anderson, but most such directors are those remaining from Hollywood's artistic peak in the 70s, like Scorsese. These were some of the world's best professional, highly skilled, highly trained musicians so deeply moved by him that they had to restart a few times!

25 year old here. Going into this movie I actually didn't even know about this song. This scene made my buddy and I both start tearing up. Just such a powerful song and Austin Butlers performance just made it that much more powerful.
26 yr old here. But same!!! I know quite a bit of Elvis’s songs and never came across this one
Just the angst and rebellious of it is amazing
23 and same.
It's a message that our nation needs again.
I watched the 68 comeback on netflix last night and it was brilliant.❤❤
I genuinely think this might be the best song ever, I’ve heard it so many times yet I still get the same feeling as when I heard it the first time
Glorious movie. Worthy of whatever Oscars they nominate it for. Butler and Hanks were brilliant in it.
Hanks wasn’t, Butler was phenomenal
@@mdd04000 Hanks was
@@kbanghart he really wasn’t
@@kbanghart not that it's Hanks fault (maybe) but as a dutch guy myself, the "dutch" in this movie did deserve some more attention. if it's Tom Hanks fault i don't know but at least could've done some research how to pronounce things the right way! anyway the movie is a straight master piece so I can look away
The best adaptation of Elvis life - I just love it and in awe of Austin, acting is superb, the voice gives me goosebumps- he just nailed it.
I started to cry when he walked on the stage in that white outfit.
It was and is so emotional. This happens to be my favourite Elvis song. 😥💝
Best movie i had ever seen😊
I agree
Elvis was a fool for keeping Parker! Elvis gift of music stood the test of time! He was an amazing artist!
One of my favourite scenes. Amazing!
Yup!! Gave me chills!!
Definitely one of the best scenes of the whole movie!
This film has to win some Oscars and Austin deserves the one for Best Acting!
His portrayal of Elvis was astonishing 👏
True
this song was played at my grandads funeral last year, he introduced me to elvis as a kid. i took my grandma to see this movie the other week, it was very special for the both of us :)
I watched the 68 special when I was 10 years old. 54 years ago.
Did you enjoy it?
I watched it as well.
It speaks volumes that Elvis never performed this song again. He memorized all of MLK Jnr's "I Have A Dream" speech, and could recite it from heart.
Austin was utterly majestic in this clip. What a glorious tribute to a fabulous talent.
by far my favorite elvis song it gives me chills everytime
That Austin Butler was absolutely incredible 👌🏼
Happy birthday to dear Austin Butler! He is so young but yet so powerful in this terrific role!!! Went to see the film in 6 different cinemas :)
When he looks up at the very end........those eyes.
I saw the movie 5 times for me is Masterpiece, Austin was more than great and with Tom Hanks wath duo ,if Austin dont win Oscar I never gone check Oscar again.
I've seen the movie five times and can't get through this scene without a tissue. So powerful. RIP EP. You are missed.
