The 2001 Pontiac Sun fire is a direct fit that bolts right on, no fab work involved at all. The seat belt guide hits the roll bar when reclined tho. You can easily cut the off tho.
Since you haven't made a follow up video on these seats maybe you could try looking for a Pontiac Grand Am 1997-2003 there are a lot of them in the junk yards and it will save you the fab time even with the $35 you already spent.

You could also tack weld the RX8 sliders after you get them where you want and remove the latch handle.
that is the current plan. I have not uploaded the lasted video but thats exactly what Im trying, but I still have more fabbing.
I wouldn't have thought there would be that much to swapping out seats but obviously it is. I guess they all fit differently.
There are some seats that fit well like from a mid 90's GM car, but I couldnt pass up the RX8 seats.
