Heads up everyone, Don't miss your favorite UA-camrs Saturday Aug 10th at the National Pike Steam Show. Meet and Greet details to follow soon. Show Details can be fount at nationalpike.com/ Ill see ya there! 👍🏼👍🏼
It will be a better place with you and your old iron toys there 👍🏻🤩😀😎
Hey dude, we're waiting to see u start the "Matt mansion" complete with the "diesel creek" dungeon(basement/mancave*Mattcave?*).. stop buying equipment and start building "diesel creek acres"?! 😂
I was hoping to run into you at the May 19th Show. I came up from Texas to visit my family and we went. Also I may know of some of the history of your red and white road crane. It may have been owned by Mingo Creek Construction 10 years ago.
Thanks Matt - will put it in my calendar
@Diesel Creek ever thought about purchasing a small mobile trommel to screen/sift dirt?
Just remember Matt there are many many of us who have no toys at all who love watching you use your tools and equipment and are just as fascinated with what you call very basic stuff. It's just always a manly pleasure to see stuff done.
The fact that you’ve got you own little Mining Operation is amazing! Your literally living my dream please keep on making content and sharing it with us, we absolutely love it! ❤❤❤
Did you check to see if you have any gold in there . Looks like some good area

I Marvel everytime a new DC video comes out.
Someone could easily misconstrue "old friend" as a euphemism for something far less innocent there.

Time lapse on the fire was cool.
that was exactly my thought too. Saw many burn piles done in other channels but never a time lapse on it until now.
Exactly what I came here to say!
I’m glad you decided to video this for us Matt. Thanks

Nothing better to wake up to on a weekend than a diesel Creek video!

I agree his videos are entertaining and enjoyable and I have

So basically, dude didn’t get all the Tonka toys he wanted when he was a kid and worked REAL hard so as an adult he can mess about in the real thing! Bravo DC. Bravo.
Somebody gets it!
My grandpa was a farmer, so I’m pretty much the same way when it comes to old tractors and farm equipment.
Real life Tonka toys 😂
Trees on Matt's land are in constant fear. "I wan't torn out for the container shop." "I wasn't torn out for the driveway." "I wasn't torn out for the borrow pit." "I wasn't torn out for the big shop." "I wasn't torn out for the laydown yard." "I wasn't..oh come on!"

They already tried giving toys, cars, emotions themselves, planes, and mixes of the above feelings 🤷♂️

Matt,
In the recent past, I started sharing some of your videos with my older brother. He loves UA-cam and your videos. He was quite the handyman and tinkerer such as yourself. I knew your mechanical inclination and love for classic heavy machinery would be right up his alley.
This morning as I sat watching your new video particularly when you brought the haul truck in for its first load, I became very nostalgic. As kids, back in the '70's, we spent countless hours performing these very same tasks in miniature with our extensive fleet of Tonka Trucks. We probably moved (what we thought were) hundreds of yards of earth.
About 15 years ago, he loved helping me work on my bigger toy, a Cummins Diesel powered M818 military truck. However, those days are but mere memories for me now.
You see, in the early morning hours of this past Thursday and Independence Day, the 4th of July 2024, my big brother passed into eternal rest finally succumbing after a long fight to ravages of cancer. I learned a lot from his self-taught expertise and acquired a love for all things mechanical from him. Your videos will always offer me a connection to those great times we shared.
His name was Tim and he was a great man and a fantastic big brother. May he forever rest easy...
My condolences.May he rest in eternal peace and may The Lord grant you strength during this difficult time
Sorry to hear the news of your brother. Praying for you all.
I’m glad you’ve got some great memories of your brother Tim - they will help you through the tuff days ahead - I’m the last of 4 brothers and memories and great times come to mind when I think of them 😄 keep your chin up mate time does heel a bit big hug from Tasmania ❤

66 years ago I did the same type of work with my Tonka Trucks. Memories.
You are right about us viewers. I know, for myself, I like to see the equipment getting used. The Kobelco is one of my favorites.
Great! Diesel Creek on Sunday morning with my coffee.
I'm impressed with your video production and editing skills. Nice work.
Thank you very much!
Love it when you give us a video... I know you work hard to make these videos.... THANK YOU MATT!!!!
After 30 years operating earthmovers on surface mines; everything from CAT D-8S TO 11s, TEREX Scrapers, even a RAYGO GIANT and I still sat here and watched Matt running that D41A for 45 minutes. Go figure.

Viewers enjoy watching these videos because they like seeing Matt’s heavy equipment being used in the hands of a pro. I’m no expert, but it seemed every pass he made was on target and leading up to a result he could see in his 3D mind. No wasted motion. Can other operators shake the dirt out of tree roots? Not only does he have a long term vision for his roads, shop, house, pond and who knows what else he has for us in the future, but he can see exactly what he must move to get the material he needs today, and he grades the area correctly. Next he improves a short road that’s perfect short of guard rails. And he does all this ALONE. You gotta admire his vision and work ethic.
Editing and photography: Time lapse on fire, speeding up sections to show faster progress, view from the dozer, other editing to keep our interest and is getting better every week. This keeps his thousands of followers liking and subscribing, Matt is entertaining, fun to watch.

I love watching you. I'm 74 now and can remember working on the farm with my uncle. Everything we had was OLD.
Your doing a great job. My wife always asks why I have so many tools when she walks into my shop, I try to explain to her that if a man wants to get things done and be independent and save in the long run while have fun, you have a happy man, you must have tools.. And a Good Man is a happy man. Keep up the good work.
You can NEVER have too many tools
Even if you don't use them
At least you've got them if you NEED to use them 👍
@@lordcaptainvonthrust3rd Totally agree. No way to have too many tools or too large a shop. The projects will grow in number and size to use both and find the need for more.
Actually, you can. Gotta make room for a Benchtop mill, so off to my sons place with a lot of airtools.@@lordcaptainvonthrust3rd
@sdwputnam - That’s a good one 👍
When my wife says, “can you build this for me” and I do. I deliver the project with “good thing I had the tools to this for you, honey”.😂
For me it's because the right tool makes the job faster and takes less energy to do. You can improvise a lot, but if you don't have the energy to continue nothing's getting done.
Monday morning here in Tokyo, what a day, I get to watch Matt at Diesel Creek, Matt's Offroad Recovery, Paul at Fab Rats and Watch Wes Work!!
Coffee, cigar and Diesel Creek!
I LOVE the opening sequence!!!!
I think the Kobelco has earned it´s exhaust leak getting fixed.
Matt, I enjoyed your video especially the use of many of your machines, e.g. Kobelco and the hauler, too!
Well done, Matt!

Love the artfully placed branch on the Kobelco, helping to sneak up on trees.😂
I cant wait for winter when we see what youve been working on while the weather allows
My favorite thing about Matt is his meme/troll capabilities. He knows for certain that someone will comment and complain about his culvert and road. Instead of easily picking up the “organic material” that breaks down over time, he’ll just have it in the next 5 shots of b roll.😂😅
Ten thousand thumbs up to you and Scrappy. Finding that old machine for let’s dig18.
That cable bucket machine Sam purchased and sold Let’s Dig isn’t old it’s a veteran machine that has experience. 😁
Matt, Really enjoy watching you work with your equipment. This is why the wife and I started watching your videos. The make it run videos are great but when you show us you using them for what they are intended is just very enjoyable.🇺🇸👍
You ever think about building a reservoir on your property? Some of those Hollers would make for killer lakes, probably up the property value substantially too no doubt.
@@ericteipen that’s the plan
@@DieselCreek FWIW, About thirty years ago we had a local golf course that wanted to install a decorative water spaying fountain on the golf course. It was located on a ditch that was fed by a small spring about a quarter of a mile away. The feed pool for the fountain they constructed was too small to even float a row boat. The EPA came in and threatened to fine the owners for constructing and obstructing a waterway. I can not even imagine the paperwork and fees involved today here in SW PA for doing a pond of the size that you have planned.
@@bobs1345, I watch another UA-cam channel with an English guy named Colin Furze. He does some crazy stuff and is building a tunnel from a bunker on the back of his property to the house and onto an underground garage. When questioned about all the permitting it would take for something like that he finally told his little secret, he said it’s easier to get approval once it’s already built than to ask for approval to start building. Lol I’ll leave it at that.
@@Hoaxer51 I knew a guy that built a house under the same motto. He built it without permission but on his own property. The took both of it away from him
@@bobs1345 I don't know PA laws, but I would imagine it's not that big of a problem if he doesn't obstruct a waterway. And I didn't see any waterways.
I started watching as the container shop had been put up on that property and the few pieces of equipment you had always needed something repaired or messed with before they would start. Big props to the hard work and constant grinding over the years to get where you are today, and taking along us viewers to demonstrate that success can be measured in old iron and ingenuity as much as in any other form. Great channel, great format.
Nothing like the smell of freshly brewed dirt in the morning!! Job well done son!
Matt, one thing I admire about your work is that you don't settle for "quick and dirty", but you take the time to do things right (or you explain why you didn't). You know the difference between what you want and what you see, and you know it matters. I have worked with plenty of "dirt workers" who don't know or don't care, and they take the path of least resistance, and the quality of their work suffers. Roads wash out, septic systems fail, foundations settle, and they always blame it on someone else, but the problem began with shoddy dirt work. I realize they have pressure on them to get a job done and get paid, which is probably less of an issue for you, and I know what it's like to get pushed to get more done in less time (and I hate it!). Our culture today puts too much emphasis on quick/quantity and too little on quality, in my opinion.
That shale is great for everything. Roads are worthy of being built!
That steam show is great. Not a whole lot of steam but if you like old machinery that built the expressways in the 50's and 60's and before it's a fun day. Good food and a lot of like-minded people that could sit and watch old bull dozers and shovels work all day. I hope to make it out again. Great crowd for the spring show this year.
I'm glad you decided to film this and share it with us. 👍
Got to be one of your best videos ever. Everything about it was ace!

Matt great seeing you do all this work using you heavy equipment.
It’s kinda satisfying seeing that dirt being pushed into that pit lol.
I especially loved the split screen with two camera angles at the same time.
That Komatsu dozer is a sweetheart.
Thank you for taking the time to video this. I love watching these kinds of projects. Also, those drone shots of pushing the topsoil in were great
Thanks for making this video, and with the excellent music.
I like the camouflage on the Kobelco @29:40! Anything you do is good content. Just keep doing it!

I want to feel the heat myself. I've heard it is warm on the feet.
Absolutely diggin that slide guitar in the beginning
I like your editing trick with the dirt coming back to the dozer in the truck bed, and then disappearing at 33:45 :-)
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who saw that and had to go back and rewatch in slomo to be sure
Like how you have the two views of the dozer working synced together. Nice work!
When the dozer sailed down the embankment smooth as glass the resulting release of endorphins to my brain was EPIC! LOVE IT!! ❤😉😀
It's easy getting a machine to the bottom of a pot, the fun part is keeping it sunny side up.
At 30:00 love the Camouflage on the Kobelco.
Cheers Matt from England
That little Komatsu will push a little for sure!! Sounds good too!!
Good idea building a massive pond that will attract all kinds of wildlife making a little oasis
Matt, I love the pond idea, can you show us what you have in mind. I was trying to understand exactly it will fill in. What a lovely thing to have and build yourself.
If you are building a pond. Suggestion: put some heavy boards in a frame so that you can regulate the level by taking out or add boards.
Out of curiosity what is wrong with a properly constructed earthen dam with an overflow and or a spillway. Seems to me that a wooden spillway would be a continuous maintenance problem but then again I have never constructed a pond but I have stayed at a Holiday Inn Express and watched few LetsDig and DirtPerfect videos. 😁
Have a great day and a better tomorrow
@@gullreefclub Nothing wrong with that, but if you want to regulate the level, or even drain the pond for some reason. boards are a relativley simple solution

I personally would have used an excavator to do that job but it’s always nice to see an old dozer work hard.
Much quicker with a dozer on a short push like that with only one operator available.
Again and again thank you for these amazing videos Mat! It would be a real pleasure to come and see this show But here from France it is "a little" far! Hey matt! I used to Work for ADS, the company that made that culvert. They say that for most of those when you have equipment driving over them, you should try for 24in of material on top of it. That you have on 39:36 looks pretty good!
