Jacob, the end of this video matters right now. Great work Bro, keep it up. I am a cop who is just now exploring new trades in life. I appreciate all of the work and what you have put out here on youtube. Keep it going! Especially now in 2021.
I like how you mentioned all welders that's awesome!!! Because that's what's about we all share the same passion and everyone of us are working together keeping America running strong weather your a Miller guy Lincoln we all are doing what we love thanks for the videos I enjoy them. I bought the pro 300 but I use mine to weld and repair scrapyard machinery, I love the machine I would recommend it to anyone that wants a Miller but can't fork out the extra for a pipe pro.
thanks for the review they are good machines. my buddy has the same machine. he likes it more then the lincolns. they will even come on site and do repairs if your machine breaks down.
I currently have the same machine Mitsubishi engine, wireless remote also ( not to much of a fan either but am working with it) , I’ve run heavy big bore to ..... .375 small bore. Runs very good. Yes, consistent...... that comes from all the internal electronics in the machine. Very smooth little different that a Lincoln..... 200 or a newer 300. The generator power alone is worth it’s weight in gold. I have Tig welded straight off the machine doing lube oil lines on a compressor station..... al I can say is awesome !!! Lights smooth pulls out smooth. So far I’m happy......2200 hours I had to replace brushes ( not happy about that) when speaking to Miller about that they said depending on the usage of that machine they have seen those brushes go anywhere from 1800 hrs to 3000 hrs. The gentleman I bought my machine from did a lot of heavy wall pipeline welding he retired and I bought it from him second day I owned it I was replacing brushes it’s just one little things tit for tat when you get into these machines. I’ve owned a Lincoln but I have favored Miller Far more. I still own my original machine I started with which is a Miller 350d trail blazer model..... with a Kabota engine. Little higher revving RPM machine but I love that machine this one here kind a like you still try to figure out that arc control. But like anything the more you use them the more you figure them out the more comfortable you will be with your gear.
I've always been a lincoln man myself, love my SA-200, SAE-300 MP, and Cross Country 300 but I also love my Miller Big Blue 400 PipePro. The first time I used a Miller was a job and my SAE-300 MP broke down and the shop I took it to only had a Miller Big Blue 350 PipePro to use while they fixed my welder. It took me awhile practicing on scrape metal to get used to the miller but when I figured it out, it blew my expectations aways.
@@JacobSchofield I get laughed and poked at when I show up on a jobsite with a miller but after I strike that arc they all go quite. I'm just glad I wasn't too stubborn to not take a miller then had enough patience to read the manual and practice with it. I know my great grandfather and grandfather are rolling in their graves at the fact I'm using a miller.
Hello Jacob just saw your video.I've been using a Big blue 300 pro for a week and I really like it.It has the 6010 and 7018 soft and crisp arc which is nice anf you Can make your weld stack how you want or make it look rather its a very smooth running machine.I've been a pipe welder for 26 years and I am a hard core lincoln guy but I have to admit these new Millers have come around. Its really coming down to the color preference LOL! .What ive been told is that Lincoln customer service sucks compared to Miller.NOTHING will ever replace an old Lincoln pipeliner , The looks, how they sound and that arc! in my opinion. The ac power of the Miller's are incredible.I like your rig most important your humility.I love both.Use tje miller for a while and then get yourself a New lincoln MP 300 haha.God bless Augie Avila
my dad has 2 pipe pro 304's and they are just awesome. him and I mostly do shop work for the most part but when we do go out on site they're fantastic. although when they ramp up they do get quite loud and is sometimes a bit much when you're working right next to it
ive welded with those pipe pro 350s a lot and they are a real nice machine , the one thing ur Lincoln will do better is freeze metal , u wont ever really notice until ur on like say 24" 500 wall and capping without stringers they are just very watery and I find don't hold metal back like the lincolns, good videos!
Lincoln's freeze the weld puddle better than Miller's.."" is that really your statement and are you sticking to that""".."" so in your mind"" it's the welding machine that is responsible for how fast the weld puddle cools??? WOW!!!
Thats a really good machine just keep working with it and you will figure out the ins and outs of that machine and it will surprise you how it does. So are you ready for me to paint that awesome rig will make it look bad ass let me know when be safe brother and keep on welding and thank you guys for sharing your adventures with us sure means alot
Thanks Jake for the explanation and short review. I'm pretty sure that the more you use it the better it's going to get. Have a great rest of the weekend buddy!
with them wireless remotes u probably no but if u hold the power button until the blue light comes on they will stay on until machine is turned off then theres not hestation at all
You mention you don't like the blue on the doors, they do make the new Pipe Pros with optional stainless doors, you should see if they are interchangeable
Awesome video Schofield! Good lookin machine. When I started that's why I bought a Vantage 300. People made fun of me for it and said it was a waste of time compared to sticking with a SA200 but now it seems the trend is changing. Always loved being able to run whatever I want.
You may try a actual wired remote with it one day. I don’t have a lot of experience with them but I have noticed it calms the machines down a lot. Made a big difference from liking the machine to loving it to me

Just depends on how long you hold that glow switch and the outside temp. I was in 7 degree weather last year and cycled the glows a couple times a it barely let out a little puff of smoke, now I'm back in texas and it's hot outside, no smoke on start up now
Your probably thinking of just a normal bobcat. Usually if it doesn't have a starter its usually seized up. They take it off so you cant start it and you leave with a busted machine

John c ive helped these 2 welders one had a classic 300d and the other had a blackface and they ran them all day long and no problem at all they never complained you should be fine
Valentin Briagas Jr. Yeah that's what I thought, so I'm thinking it was my luck that day it decided to mess up , so now I'm trying to see weather to buy the 3k part or wait till I find another cheap sa200 to replace the main armature
Valentin Briagas Jr. Yeah that's what I'm using right now , I just found it odd that my machine messed up doing that, cause the main armature still looks brand new idk, it happens I guess
Hi Jacob, cool video. I wanted to ask u a question, I'm starting to build my welding rig and I can't decide between a ranger 250gxt or a sa-200 black face. Which one do you recommend?
Hey Jacob i hear you talking about the remote well im from west texas and we have a guy out here that designed a remote for any machine it has all the all the functions the regular control has but he also made a remote that clips onto your stinger and you can control the temperature as you go so just wanted to let you know

I usually bead with mine on 0 to 2 stiff depending on gap. If I try to go above that I can’t get a good keyhole and the rods will toenail to one side
Thanks but I prefer my SAE 300 MP on the 42" stuff and for everything. Small stuff, I remeber those days.

Shouldnt matter what welder you have a good welder knows how to set a machine.
every machine is different and if you can tell the difference then you are not a welder

I wish the structural paid what pipe paid. I've always enjoyed the sheet metal fabrication, although I can do both well.
Would like to see how that pipepro performs on 3&4 inch .125 wall
Did I miss the video of the bed build where you installed lights etc?
I use to live in fort collins.
Where can I find the tig ninja remote?
Ate you going to paint your bed? I like the rust look. Some mineral oil On it and it will give it some pop. Cool channel. Keep it up.
Probably not. Ill probably just bed line it and call it a day.
I'm thinking about buying one but it's not the pipe pro just the 400 pro..is it pretty much the same?
That came out nice. Great Work
What happen to the Lincoln 300 you had
Now that you're learning 3D design you should try to design your next bed in CAD.
That’s what I’m trying to do. I think it would be pretty helpfule
@@JacobSchofield Fell free to ask me any questions. I spent some time learning CAD and a few good 3D design programs. Be well.
Jake is this pipe pro pure dc voltage please
Great question my plugs are Ac but the stinger is DC
Is that what your asking?
can you tune the arc the same as your SA-200?
I’m it’s been tough to get that part figured out. I just messed with it tell I felt comfortable. I think 90% of it is the Operater
How much did it cost to build the bed? Material cost
Nope a sa 200 red face 1960 but u might b right about the starter

How good are the Miller 225 for like little project and stuff ?
Jacob There is sweet tea adds before your video. How fitting for ya
Are you liking how the root is going in? Have you had to change anything like gap or land to adjust to how the machine runs?
Do we have to swap leads to run Tig on the 400?

crosscountry vs pipepro ?
