Nice video I have a older big blue don’t have any voltage but when I idea it up fast sometimes I get voltage for bit but jumps all over then I lose so I’m going to try this see if that’s the problem.
Good video.. I have a Miller Big blue 300 pro going to change out the brushes. Do you replace the entire part with the wire connectors and the holder or do you only replace the pieces that may contact?
im having problems with a big blue 400 ... cranks up and runs but im not getting an arc or voltage... breakers good, diodes (those square things by breakers in side panel) are good, fuses are good, brushes are food, slip wheels are clean but still no arc or voltage 🤔🤔🤔
just got a new brush assembly kit... still no a/c voltage...i have 17 ohms from slip ring to slip ring.... i have 12v to the brushes... breakers and fuses good... anything anyone can suggest ???
Came across your video and was wondering if brushes will throw a help 21 code my 2012 300 pro gave me that code today. I have 110 power not sure about 230 volts and of course no weld output thanks if you reply I would greatly appreciate it. It's been a good one hate seeing it down
My outlets dont work on a big blue 300, i already change all the outlets and the fuses, but they dont work i just get a red light in the outlet do you know what could it be?
@@juliozumaya5290 and you checked all of your circuit breakers? You’ll just have to back track from the outlets to cb’s and see where the power is stopping. Should be a schematic on on the inside of your door.
I have a 300 pro breaking arc after running a bead about an inch long. I have adjusted the idle a bit and cleaned the slip rings also. What else should I try or do you have any idea what could be the problem? Thanks.
Do you have plenty of meat on the brushes? If they are short there might not be enough pressure to hold them tight on the slip rings. Does it run a grinder consistently without any problems? Does it do it in all stick settings?
Checked brush length. They’re right at that 1/4 inch minimum. Ordered a new set immediately after that they’re on order right now. And I’d say yes it did it in all stick settings. Ran a grinder fine.
Baylie Buckholtz replacement brushes? You can call any welding supply and give them you serial number and they can get you some. I personally use Bills Welder Repair out of Okc.
well...miller said i should have 17 ohms from brush to brush... i have 0 ohms, even with the new 1 and when its on, it has 3 ohms...i dont think even they know what they are talking about... maybe i should just trash this thing 😡

Thank you for the feedback! You replace the whole block with brushes and wires. When you order the brushes it will all come together.

Do you ever see problems starting Big Blue 500 D? Mine will crank and fire up, but rough idle and only generate 30-40 volts.

You changed them out with gfci’s?

Does it have a low idle solenoid on the motor? Some do not come with low idle.

@@aracelivega2933 Then it will only stay on high idle. You could buy the low idle kit from Miller I believe but I want to say it's around $2500

I know the older 350d trail blazer model has a 5 point pin that controls that idling 🤷♂️🤷♂️. I own a pipe pro 350d not sure how that is set up
