What a blessing to have a top quality channel to watch...no cussing...headbanging music..or blasphemy...thank you so much...God bless you and keep you...
I love to hear the excitement in your voice when you hook up. And then you get even more excited when you see its a small mouth. Its pure joy and that can not be faked... This is why we continue to follow your channel. You are as real as it gets like a kid at Christmas. God Bless and GO KATS!!!!!!!!
Fishing a helgramite, imagine that. Lol. I guess I will have to buy me one. I can't tell you the last time I have saw tadpoles here. As a kid they were everywhere. Awesome video and stay safe👍🙏
John boy finds yet another nice little road trip spot...Oh oh oh....oh oh c'mon now...there he is. Patented brother. Nice little mess of river bass. Then the long ear sunfish. Thanks for taking us along again. God bless
It is so amazing to me how a lot of the rivers you fish in Arkansas, Tennessee, etc are so clear and beautiful. They look exactly like the rivers we fish for trout out here in Utah, Idaho, Wyoming and Montana. Very cool.
Keep narrating and explaining your strategies. Really helpful when I’m using the hellgrammite to have an idea of how you throw it, and it’s working great on ozark smallies so far!
Great video John. Yes we are truly blessed with all the areas we have to fish. It’s nice to take a minute and look around and enjoy gods country. Congratulations on 90K !! Well deserved
I'm sure I'm a little late to the party, but welcome to Arkansas. The Caddo is one of my favorite places to float and fish, but there are some other places that are fabulous places to fish. Try the Mulberry in the western part of the state as well as the Spring River in the Northeast part of the state.
That is a great river to fish. On the weekends it is choked with canoes 🛶. Thanks for that awesome content. You will be at 100k subscribers in no time.
Fished Caddo River in 1970s....loved it beautiful place. More fun to fish the narrow sections...where you fished looks like area I fished. Loved small mouth...brownies fishing.
Longear dont look like they belong in the streams you find them. They look downright tropical! I catch a ton of them in Ohio every year. Simply beautiful...
Keep the videos coming! I finally uploaded a creek fishing video again fot the first time in a year, love the channel John, keep it up! Your editing has improced tramendously
Great video, just a suggestion the best way you can fish rivers in a kayak is to put yourself on the back of your kayak a power pole micro anchor. It’s a powered anchor system with a lithium battery pack and an 8 foot steak that will hold you in place in current in a river while you’re fishing for smallmouth check it out. PS they’re not cheap you’re talking $1000 but they’re worth every penny for fishing rivers in a kayak or any shallow water.
I actually work at one of the canoe rental businesses on that River! The first place you pulled up into is fine to park at for next time. We just prefer you park out of the way
I’m from Arkansas and that caddo river is an absolute blast to fish in, if you ever get a chance though kayak the buffalo river it’s just a little south east of Harrison Arkansas I’ve definitely caught some nice sized largemouth out of there.
John you dont relise how much your viedos are helping me get through my rotater cuff surgery and recovery. Would like to see how you rig the Hellgramighte. Thanks as your viedos are fun and always educational.
Can't wait to try out those Nikko hellgrammites soon! If you prove that they actually catch fish, then I'll take your word for it, John. Gotta get them smallies somewhere!
What is the jig head you are using? I have been out of the fishing game for a couple of decades. New tackle and new techniques were developed in that time and I need to learn them. I fish the Shenandoah, and that Nikkko Helgramite looks like it would slam here. Does that jig head impart any kind of action to the lure, or would a simple round head jig work just as well for them? Thanks.
I notice that you rig the helgramite through the side. Does the hook want to turn so the hook points up? Could you show what type of hook you use and how you rig it?
Hey bud! I have a question if you don't mind?! I had a couple of strokes a little while ago and I was wondering what a good knot is to tie a hook on with one hand/arm lol if you don't mind man?! Lol And as you can imagine, I can't really reel, so bass fishing is not really something I can do lol. So, if you could kinda think about a knot or setup for essentially a cane pole lol?!
If you ever get close to Walnut Ridge Arkansas hit me up. Would love to throw a line or to out and get some lunch. Really appreciate all the videos and fishing tips.
That private property area belongs to the canoe rental. They posted it because of people trashing it. I live about 30 minutes away, the other side of Amity, on the banks of the same river. There's also mean-mouth bass in it.
John have you ever had a run in with a game warden while fishing in other states? Just wondering. Love your channel wish there where more good places to fish here in Delaware. Anyone here from DE. know any good spots. I am in Dover.
I like all John's videos but most enjoy when he is by himself fishing a creek and giving us his narration. They are always super good.
I agree
Top 10 for most underrated river re clarity and beauty / scenery in U.S.

Fished Caddo River in 1970s....loved it beautiful place. More fun to fish the narrow sections...where you fished looks like area I fished. Loved small mouth...brownies fishing.

Lovely time spent on the creek.
Hey man. What jigheads do you use for the Nikko Hellgrammites?
On the good old hellgrammite. Thanks for the video. God bless and tight lines john.
Thanks John!
I grew up fishing the Caddo. I'm loving these videos you're doing in Arkansas. You should try the Saline River around Benton some time.
Seconded! Hoping the Saline clears up soon so I can get back out there
Nice video !! Bro John !! I love when u get excited it let's see ur PASSION FOR WHAT U DO !!! :)
John you dont relise how much your viedos are helping me get through my rotater cuff surgery and recovery. Would like to see how you rig the Hellgramighte. Thanks as your viedos are fun and always educational.
He talks about rigging the hellgrammite in a couple of his older videos
Every video:
“Oh! That’s a big one!”
Followed by…
“It’s not as big as I thought.”
😂😂😂
We spent years on the Caddo,, great fishing up river!!
You have a really good knack for matching music to the geography of where you are. Good on you. ( Second career?)
Nice scenery, very calming. Great smallmouth river. Do you use special shoes for wading? Have fun 🐟
glad to see you still making great content. the rebel craw always grabs 'em. I wont go without one

Can't wait to try out those Nikko hellgrammites soon! If you prove that they actually catch fish, then I'll take your word for it, John. Gotta get them smallies somewhere!

Man, I agree with you lol! I've always said that we have so much stuff to do for free as long as you have some gas in the truck lol!
What is the jig head you are using? I have been out of the fishing game for a couple of decades. New tackle and new techniques were developed in that time and I need to learn them.

I fished that river back around 2002 in a canoe with my son, we caught alot of smallmouth on a watermelon 4 inch lizard.
Caddo* river lol.. Good fishn 😀.. U should try the Kings river here in Arkansas also.. One of the best
Enjoyed your fishing show.
I notice that you rig the helgramite through the side. Does the hook want to turn so the hook points up? Could you show what type of hook you use and how you rig it?

I'm moving to wisconsin in a couple weeks and I think I'm gonna start a UA-cam channel I'm really excited
Small mouth, walleye and crappie fishing with the occasional musky should make some decent content
What are you fishing the Hellgrammite on?
Do you mash the barbs on your hooks?
Yamamoto hula grub and 1/4 oz leadhead next time on the Caddo!
John have you ever had a run in with a game warden while fishing in other states? Just wondering. Love your channel wish there where more good places to fish here in Delaware. Anyone here from DE. know any good spots. I am in Dover.
