Fun vid, John. And a note of thanks: thank you for always wearing your PFD. I see some UA-cam fishing channels where they don't and it is a good way to get into trouble. Leading by example! Thanks! PS Whenever I lose a fish I always take out my file (on a pin-on) and sharpen those hooks!
Caught first musky towards late summer out of the Collins, so my buddy is coming up from Chattanooga Nov 30th to hit up the Collins River again. Great upload
Beautiful day, beautiful river. Nice catch, wish Josh could have gotten one ...... maybe next time ! Watching this vid with snow coming down right now. Yep, the warm November is now gone ! It was nice while it lasted. Always enjoy watching you and Josh. Pap Blevins
Nice fish, i still haven't gotten any musky, just their lure thieven' cousins, chain pickerel. I broke a rod setting the hook on a 10 inch bass last week, just glad it wasn't a better fish!
nice video and always geat to see you out having fun. when muskie fishing its always important to have a few critical tools for the health of the fish and angler, long pliers, hook cuters, big net and a wire leader or seriously heavy floro carbon are critical. muskies are a low density fish in the most ideal senarios. they are native where your at and deserve best treatment by the angler. i know its just fishing and for fun but good practices go a long way in taking care of these creatures. not leaving lures in fish and treating them well is esential for all to enjoi and the conservation of these wonderful native fish. you have a giant platform that reaches many anglers, im sure you are an example and inspiration for many anglers. good luck you make great videos, just some things to think about moving forward with muskies. let me know if i can help.
Thank you for saying this. People don’t get it. And I worry about anyone who jams their rod into the rocks to free a lure and then is surprised when it breaks.
@squonto47 i was trying to be nice, hope it came across that way, i hope john realizes that having a platform like this channel your more than just a dude fishing but an example for others to follow, like it or not it. poor muskies have alot against em pepole like to gain popularity by fishing for them but spending a few extra dollars on a real net leaders and some cheap tools at the hardware store to take care of them is out of the question. examples of pepole doing it wrong without proper tools for effective c&r will live on as a bad example for ever.
What’s wild is that there’s a creek a few minutes from me that I saw Alex catch a couple muskie out of on his channel. The creek eventually feeds to a well known muskie lake, but this spot is WAY upstream from the river/lake. I saw some serious splashing when i bank fished it a while back. Makes me wonder now if it was from muskies!
Well I've definitely never caught a muskie lol but I have always gone dippin with my dad and then my son in little creeks and waterholes here in West Tennessee lol to catch little turtles and native fish for my aquarium and I've caught quite a few little runt cousins of the muskies lol grass pickerels and I'm always super excited when I get one:)
John next time if you pull fish back and forth it will get them going water needs to move across gills. You should come fish. Licking river in Ky. It's full of muskies
John Great Fall Fishing, I never caught a Muskie, but I have caught a bunch of Chain Pickerel my PB was better than 6 pounds. Thanks Again Sir Great Video. God Bless You. and A Day Fishing Is Better Than Work Any Day.
You can learn to slide your 4 fingers inside the gill plate and use your thumb outside to safely pick them up without a net. I grew up fishing pike and it's quicker, they can't twist the net and line into a mess and it's better for the fish that way too. Just fyi. I could show you how if you want.
He generally doesn’t say where for obvious reasons, he may say if it’s on a particular river or national park but he works hard to find spots and doesn’t generally disclose them
It’s an extremely easy river to find out where it is, I found it a couple years ago just doing research and have caught a lot of 30-40” musky out ofnit
Real post here JD. Thanks for the content. A day fishing is always better than a day working.
Very nice video! You have such fun floating small creeks!
Wow John I was today’s first viewer!!!!
Yippee!

Great video and beautiful river
Still amazes me they are in that little river of all rivers we have! Caught my first muskie there last month on a rooster tail haha! Great video 🎉

Good session you had. I'm Pike fishing over here at the moment, they are really similar to Musky. Tight lines mate

Caught a 3ft + musky on the Emory River 2 weeks ago. You should try the upper Emory from Oakdale to just below Harriman.
me and some friends have been talking about that, thanks
love it
Youre getting closer to Bill Dance, you start breaking your rods. 😉
Hey brother , amazing video. It's awesome seeing you upload. I want to go to Tennessee one day, to see those beautiful rivers.

I caught my first muskie out of my river this year wasn't very big but it's a fish off my bucket list!
That is a great feeling
Need muskie and walleye yet
Caught some nice Northern Pike up here in Erie PA but still not a Muskie. Thanks for the video bro ! ! !
I enjoyed the music :)
If you ever want to come to northeastern ky ill take you to catch musky and smallmouth
Those are some fun fish

Time to go ahead and get you another Zodias rod! I know you loved that Zodias rod
haha i was just thinking that
Nice video
I wish we had more Musky here in NW Ohio
Some in Lake Erie and some of the rivers
I just settle for Northern Pike
Cool man!

What rod are you using to throw that magdraft?
Wish ya showed or stated your set ups a little more but awesome fishing and fishing spots as always
It must be wonderful to be able to in GOD'S beautiful nature whenever you want. Love it.
Replace that darn paddle LOL
it works perfectly fine, plus its cost almost $300
You didn't oversleep this time? ;-)
#537👍🏻🛶🎣👀
Throw a big spook or in- line buzz bait or spinner and you will have a better chance. Those musky prefer a bigger bait.
Spook would be ideal in that slow water
threw a spook the first half of the day
how can i find out where this is? im local to u. dm me??
He generally doesn’t say where for obvious reasons, he may say if it’s on a particular river or national park but he works hard to find spots and doesn’t generally disclose them
I don't know where he is for certain, but it kind of looks like the Caney Fork, which I know has Muskie. Maybe Collins River?
It’s an extremely easy river to find out where it is, I found it a couple years ago just doing research and have caught a lot of 30-40” musky out ofnit
@ it’s not caney but close to it
I catch alot of musky on a black and blue jig in these little rivers
