OMG, what a delivery. She should at least, had two persons there to help, because she knew all stairs, and all you had to walk from the parking before. $30.00 of tip is just to leave in the parking lot. Nieman, I understand why, " never again". Its time for you to start charging

Nieman moving the couch in his slides lol lol!!! "Never again!" All of us are giggling because anyone who has moved big items up the stairs with their partner or spouse knows what a trying thing it is. If you survived that, your relationship can survive anything!!!
My 1st estate sale jackpot was some heavy vintage furniture that was in the basement. OMG my husband didn't say a word but I never did that to him again. Well, at least not in the basement, but plenty of heavy vintage furniture! 🤣

Would have been easier if it was 2 men.
Moving huge/bulky pieces of furniture through narrow areas and over stairs is a giant test for your marriage. Did that way too many times with just personal stuff, never for business. Including moving a piano over several flights of stairs. I absolutely felt Neiman’s never again! But proof positive is you survived it without any threats of death or injuries - well done! In the future, you can always hire someone to deliver the pieces. Yes, it cuts into the profit, but can be an option if another great deal comes along 🤷🏼♀️ You are right about taking chances. Next time you want to clean leather, try Lexol Leather clelaner, or saddle soap. Wait a day, then use Leatherique Leather Rejuvinator to bring back the color. Wait a day between coats. I rehab vintage Coach handbags and dry leather really likes the Leatherique. Any product you use should not have silicone in it and be pH neutral. Leather paint, and shoe polish are really bad for leather. Leather needs to "breathe" and those things just make the leather stiff, and deteriorate. You did a good job with the sofa.

Yeah, I work as an upholsterer and leather can actually start to mold if you apply to much balm to it. Leather do not want be toooo moist... Saddle soap is much better! I've never tried the leather cleaner, but I've always been taught to watch out with oily stuff like balm and such :) I will try that leather cleaner I think :)
@Skuggflamma Leather Therapy products clean, condition, and inhibit mold. Those are what I use for most of the bags I rehab. Leatherique can restore, or at least improve the color.
That. Was. Incredible! We too have been in “never again” situations! On the flip side 😏 though, we snagged an olive green arm chair at a flea market for $50 last weekend and put it in our store yesterday. It sold for $225 today! 🎉 we’ve been following you awhile now. That was a nice green couch, If you ever do another leather piece and have cracks in it, you can use leather dye on it and the cracks won't show. I made a bag out of leather and dyed it that color green, everyone I showed it to loved it

I believe that is the last up the stairs delivery? WOW that was quiet the feat! Glad your hard work was appreciated and you got a tip. The leather salve is amazing. It's a beautiful piece of furniture and in it's day it was HOT. Real leather will take a lot of use and clean up nicely but that looked really nice. I am sure that young woman really appreciated it!

Nieman is a little bossy. Get him to get another guy to help him (or 2 guys) and include that cost in the delivery. You better believe Rooms To Go would do that.
I would recommend you guys get shoulder dolly straps, makes things a whole lot easier, and that way you can minimize the weight load
I don't think my husband and I ever knew just how much we would have to learn to communicate while delivering furniture. You guys did an amazing job. I refinish furniture as well and I really appreciate you providing some examples of the out of the box items you flip.
I hope she enjoys it & stays at that apt for a really really long time

We did a lot of pick up for dirt cheap furniture like this. Normally rent a uhaul trailer and drag it with our little wrangler. My bf helped me pick up and move heavy furniture to flip during covid. And I say the exact same thing, oh at least we are out when the weather is so nice, it's a nice evening, it's good to get our muscles working. It's like a free gym session. It was hard sweat work but it was really worth it. Just within 4 years since 2020. Now we have 5 short rental units on our own and manage 2 more for friends in Maritime Canada. I still flip here and there for just a little extra money or when I see a good deal. After all. It's all good memories we make and the money we made with sweats is the best. I love your energy. I was a little mad that she didn't help but at least she gave a tip.
And most importantly this couch still could serve someone for more time than being in the landfill. Win win win for you, the buyer the earth.

Nieman is absolutely right !! Never again! Next time you have such a bulky piece to deliver, make sure is on the ground floor.
I liked how the leather looked so much better after the salve application.
My leather couches come with a zipper underneath back-resting area, which allows to add extra filler when they look deflated like your green sofa.
I kept waiting for Lauren to find the zippers. 😊
Sofa also looked “very low” and some legs would have made a big difference.

I was thinking a floor/stair charge, a delivery then a seperate floor charge, but ya got it done!
Nieman got the easy lifting part being higher up. You carried about 80% of the weight of that sofa.

When I used to move up stairs, I had to lift sofas all by myself. I never had a Neiman. Or if I did, they seemed to disappear suddenly when I moved. I was so strong. And I eventually broke myself down and I'm now disabled. Please take care of yourselves.

You should do furniture consignment. It is in high demand in my area.
If you heat up som of the loose parts it will tighten up a bit.

You should deliver to the house because people might not have a car big enough, but if they want it inside you charge extra. And if its not on the grown floor it have to have a lift, or you pass.
yep all I could think of was Friends with Ross screaming "pivot!!! pivot!!" Nope will never deliver furniture again. I did it once and the person grabbed a drawer and dropped it. Said she wasn't paying full price for a broken dresser. I took it back, patched it up and resold it. Nope never delivering again!

Well, you could look at it this way… That lady has to walk up all those stairs every day she goes to and from work or the grocery store, etc. So in a way you all had a one and done! Then, when she moves, she has to find some friends to help her get it out of there, and then they can “pivot” the heck out of it! Love your videos!💜

I think the couch turned out great; looked so much better. You were right - it just needed a "drink." Someone paid a lot more than $60 when they originally purchased that couch. It's Italian leather! As for delivering it 3 floors up - I'm with Nieman, never do that again.
