    I was so hoping for the blue! I'll never understand the love for beige and gray. Boring and depressing. I'm so glad color is starting to make a comeback! 😁 You do a fantastic job, lady, regardless of colors used! You deserve every penny you earn.

      Greige ...ugh! It’s like a worldwide epidemic. Safe of course for people with no imagination and lucrative for one particular interior designer in UK. I can’t live without colour in my life! This set is lovely, for me, I would have loved, colour, if painted, then waxed or distressed a little to add some interest. But that said, great job. And someone will snap it up.

      Thankfully, we all have different tastes and ideas about what we want for our own homes and these days, a vast range of products to get us there. I never mind painting repro furniture, or pine but genuine antiques, no. A refresh then enjoy the beauty of wood and craftsmanship that created them.

  • @Moerocha62

    I love the french linen color. The set turned out so beautifully. I would have liked to see some dark stain on the top along with some buffing of the details with a darker stain to make those carved details and grooves stand out a bit.

    • @ellen5165
      @ellen5165 8 годин тому

      I find the French linen color boring and flat, but I agree additional effort with darker wash on the carved details to make them stand out would greatly improve the pieces.

    Such a gorgeous set and the result is beautiful. I love the more interesting colors, like the midnight. I also really am starting to get more into updated wood tones. Wood finishes that don't have that red or orange tint to them and don't have that shiny, glossy to look to them...more of a matte finish. I love dark walnut because it matches my victorian home's staircase. I have a french provincial dresser in my daughters room that is very similar to that linen color (it's the original paint color!), but it's scratched up a little here and there and I'm encouraged to give it a makeover now. Thank you!!

    I've had a chest and dresser provincial set for at least 30 years. I always wanted to refinish it in a blue.Then along came my only granddaughter who fell in love with it as it was and wanted it in her bedroom. I'm now retired and brought it with me to my retirement house. I recently repaired and refinished a curbside find ,cane chairs, dining room table and coffee table for my granddaughter and her family. She loves old! So this winter I am going to finally finish this provincial set that now sits in my bedroom. Also a buffet, that is just like one you've refinished.Thanks for always going step by step. Love everything you do and the step by step instructions.

I am not as fast as you are…cause I am a little old and a bit slower but it’s fun stuff! I want to suggest that you also include in your videos a statement regarding your overhead and taxes. What people do NOT understand…you might make $1350….or $1800 in profit…but you also have to pay for the overhead cost of your building/shop. You should also be paying income taxes for every flip…so your profit is not always as much as you state. But stating that in your video tells people it’s not ALL profit. Thank you for sharing with us. I appreciate your honesty and candor on your videos. Great job!!!

    Its smart to go with a timeless neutral. The French Linen don’t look too greige. I expect it will sell well.

    As I'm watching your video I'm hoping that you do French linen because I have just one French provincial dresser and I would love to see what French Linen looks like. I originally wanted to paint mine black but now I'm thinking maybe I want to go more neutral so I can change my comforter with the seasons or at least twice a year.

    Papers inside, lol. Back in the day, they would place wallpaper sheets, inside of cabinets and drawers of dressers. They didn't paste them in so that they could remove them, without damage. The purpose of the wallpaper was to keep splinters off of clothing, and to keep out bugs. Expensive ones where sold with smells to keep out bugs. However wallpaper was costly at the time. So people would buy leftover, or discount wallpaper books and rip out the pages. That is why they often don't match. Cheaper wallpaper was thiner, and looks like regular paper to us now.
    I always like to learn new things, and I hope this helps you to understand for the future, also may help if you ever have to remove, stuck on ones. As our new removers don't work, but wallpaper remover dose.
    As always thank you for your hard work and time, and sharing your passion with us.

      I used to remove wallpaper for a living before painting walls. The easiest way to remove old wallpaper is to mist it with warm water - let it sit (not dry) & scrape it off with a paint scraper. The water helps moisten the old glue so that it releases.

    love it love it love it! French Linen was what I was rooting for from the beginning. I have a dresser that has so many fancy swirls on it. It's its original color right now but I just might have to get me some French Linen and paint it that color as well. Thanks for taking the time to explain what you do to do it right!
