I've used Apple Pencil on my iPad for almost 3 years and have no scratches on the screen. The pencil doesn't cause any scratches. If you're getting scratches it due to another reason
Do you use a screen protector?
@@pinman7288 I dont have a screen protector and my ipad isn’t scratched at all
@@dior6946 How long have you had it?
@@pinman7288 2 and half years
Yeah, I don’t think that’s even possible, the Apple Pencil tip is plastic, the screen of the iPad is glass, plastic doesn’t scratch glass unless you apply abnormal pressure to it, even then it’s more likely to see the tip of the Apple Pencil receiving damage rather than the screen of the device, don’t really get where they got that idea from.
One feature in Notability that I find to be super important, is the recording feature. As someone with ADHD, it is almost essential to be able to reference the audio if you happen to space out during the meeting, presentation, webinar, etc.
I have also worn down the tip of my Apple Pencil and it did scratch my iPad screen. PaperLike rules! 🤘🐬
Love Notability
I loooove GoodNotes! I've been using it as a PDF annotator for eight years now. It keeps them all well organized and it's been a great tool for annotating PDFs since way before it was possible with Apple stock apps.
me too but the iCloud sync is garbag e :(
@@brandoparedes4305 Oh! That’s sad to hear. What issues do you have with it? I use it with my iPad and iPhone, and it seems to work fine.
One of the best reviews on note taking apps I've seen. I go back and forth between OneNote and Apple Notes.
I’ve been a huge Evernote for years and have 100’s of notebooks stacked and use template and the dashboard but I can see the benefit of OneNote or AppleNote. I look forward to your MS app review on iPad.
good final advice
I utilize Onenote simply because it is the best app that allows you to draw over typed text and photos with the pencil as well as the infinite canvas. If Apple Notes allowed these two features, I firmly believe it would dethrone Onenote.
thats also a great feature of One Note
this was very helpful! thanks! dolphin
Notability is my favourite..Great app
Yup. Agree with that, an absolute pleasure to use. Now it has the new "Tape" function akin to flashcards. Brilliant.
Nice video, i want to add that one note also has math conversion like notability and it's *free
Nicely done!🐬
Try Craft Docs, I love it!
🐬I use OneNote for work, seminars, etc and I use apple notes for personal stuff. I love OneNote for it’s multiple notebooks and overall organization, and I love that I can hand write directly on pics and pdfs I take during lectures… can’t do that with apple notes
Paperlike is a really scratch magnet …A really bad screen protector but why every youtuber suggestes this i dont know.. Maybe they invest more money on promoting the product then quality of the product 😌
For my use case, OneNote is the only notes application for me. I use it daily in my corporate life, across all my devices.
When I decided to move to a paperless world due to constant travel, I narrowed down to OneNote as I use it across Windows computers, Surface tablets, iPads, Apple and Android devices. The fluidity and integration with the Office 365 products is perfect.
Bruh Apple notes is not even support vector ink. So if you zoom into what you’re typing, ink will look like trash. And pdf support is also not easy to use.
Interesting, the one surprise for me was Evernote. I never thought of it as a notebook to write in.
If you can familiarize yourself with the UI, CollaNote is free and very versatile and always being updated.
This is the best one for me. I’ve tried every note taking app and this is the most complete and versatile. Have a really active community and the developer Reaally listen the feature requests. The only thing that I need to be perfect is a pdf sync so I can read my notes in my windows laptop. If you have an Apple ecosystem, then this is already perfect
I use Apple notes more and more as they add features… I also use OneNote as well…. But not as much as I used to.
Yes it is number 1 for me the apple Note app . And i can even write or and put some musical notes iwant and it can read pdf files
I find good notes 5 and notability the best one out there for me because of the one time fee monthly fee Instead of the monthly fees plus Apple note is one of the 3 Apps is good for either writing or voice to text For when I'm in a rush to hand write something down the voice to text comes in handy or the recording on notability
🐬. I like the apple notes too.
Apple notes is coming along strong! I do wish it had collapsing lists *within a note.
Noteshelf should be on this list for Evernote users. It will sync to your Evernote account.
🐬thanks
I tried Paperlike with a previous iPad and THAT I am not sure I can get behind. The material is known for chewing through pencil tips, at attracts finger oils like no ones business and also washes out the vibrant colors of the iPad screen in favor of glare reduction
OneNote is the best not only for features but also for the cross platform availability
Craft is the one for me
Can Apple Notes do talk to text? I am thinking about this regarding when I am in a meeting. Thank you.
Merci 🐬
🐬🐬🐬🐬 I'm currently using the ole reliable pen and paper . I've spent the entire day watching UA-cam videos of different tablets and what is the best for students. I used One Note before on my old tablet but it didn't connect to the Internet one day and I didn't have autosave on so I lost two classes worth of notes. I've been scarred ever since that day and only used handwritten notes. I think I might be ready for digital notes again. I got a hand cramp last semester because I switch pens and pencils for different colors and styles in my handwritten notes.
Microsoft one note - will this app allow for your notes to be converted to a word or PDF document?
Can I use excel pages on an iPad? To take notes on it?
Thank you. Just bought a iPad 9th gen and a pencil. Looking for the right note taking app.
Me too, which one did you go for?
notability and nebo
I have both goodnotes and notability i prefer goodnotes
Do you must have an Apple Pencil? Or
These works with 3rd party pencil?
Craft Docs and OneNote
OMG I didn't expect that #I not my #I
Wallpaper Link Please ? 😃
I use OneNote cause I am using android.
Thank you for this video. I am trying to figure out what to use. My son just converted me to the iOS world from android 😮
I agree with you regarding Apple Notes. However, I don’t understand why everyone overlooks Zoom Notes when reviewing note taking apps. While Zoom Notes has a fairly steep learning curve, it’s versatility and functionality is unmatched, especially for the price which is a very reasonable one time purchase with regular updates by the developer. I stopped using Notability when it became subscription based. I just can’t justify so many subscriptions. I’ve been using Evernote for years but am finding it clunky and slow, too high priced for less functionality, so have been looking for a better alternative, possibly Notion. But in y he mean time am using Apple Notes to collect clips, links, images and such. BTW fully functional One Note is completely free, no subscription to Microsoft 365 needed and its whiteboard layout is infinite.
Needs time to learn it
If you use the expensive Paperlike, be prepared to replace your apple pencil tips regularly especially using Procreate etc. I now use the ESL screen protector and for less than half the price I got 3 in the pack and they're better and don't wear out our pencils. Just sharing my experience.
In Microsoft one note, one is able to add insert space in between the already written/drawn content ….whenever one wants…. It helps in adding up any extra content we find useful ….
It seems odd that you specifically preface that one has to buy an “expensive’ Apple product to get the free Apple Notes app when you are doing a video about note taking apps “on an iPad”. Don’t you have to buy an iPad to use any note taking app on an iPad? Also, I would argue that all iPads aren’t all “expensive”. 😉 anyway great videos! Congrats on the new job!
Notion should be added next time
Samsung Notes is the best try it u can even record what u did it will write all what u did step by step that will be great for ppl how have mathematics
why or how are your apps at the bottom bar of your homepage greyscale ?
it was an icon pack i created!
GoodNotes is much better than note ability for handwriting recognition. I only use note ability when I want to record and take notes at the same time… Which is rare

The Apple Notes app has been disappointing me consistently. It has lost the ease of navigation, does not allow you to separate out pages, can't zoom in on specific writings (or infinite canvas for that matter). And now with the iPadOS 16 update, has been lagging horrendously. Writing using a pencil is practically unusable now as the strokes literally appear seconds after you move on to a different portion.
🚨 Nope! Plastic cannot scratch glass - hardness rule. You don’t need a screen protector for the Apple Pencil.
When will you upload to your personal channel again?
never i hope. just when i thought he was gone he shows up on 9to5Mac
@@shapelessbb I still really liked his personal channel.
He said he would upload different content to his personal channel, like content outside of content that would be directly related to Apple products.
@@cameronbosch1213 And now he's so much less responsive to comments.
@@davidempire4874 Sadly, that seems to be the case when UA-camrs (regardless of the subject) get bigger...
GoodNotes and iPad is a marriage made in heaven.
until you want to sync in real time information with your Macbook. iCloud sync is incredible slow. I am trying to use Apple notes now, due to its pencil, its simple amazing but its lacking of some features that Onenote for example has, like drawing over text. Its not that simple.
@@brandoparedes4305 I have had no issues with that. I have tomes from undergrad to med school and through PhD. Now I have all research papers in two fields on it. They are synced to google drive and one drive and apple iCloud. But I am working in an medical center most of the time so I am not sure if that makes a difference.
I love Apple notes but the reason why I am watching this video right now is because there is a glitch with the Apple Notes app especially while using Pencil. When you are constantly using using the Apple Pencil in the notes app, it will lag a like a good noticeable lag. There are other users having the same issue as well.
Anyone faced this before.... ???
Every application once in a while does that when the you have a lot of content on a single page… it happens with Microsoft one note too… may be due to smaller I pad version .
@Dr Darshpreet singh na sir.. there is no lag with samsung notes at all with even 10 times more content on a single page. I have no intent to start Apple vs. samsung debate here, but yeah, for me, that's the case.. and replying to you now from SamsugnGalaxy atb s7+. And just for comparison, I was using iPad Pro 11" before.
🐬
Use Notability and call it a day!!
love it
@@9to5Mac It also has a neat feature that allows you to back up your notes with a format of your choice to Dropbox, Drive, OneDrive, etc.!! So, it's kind of a cross platform for me!! Also when you take notes with it, page margin is delineated so when you create a PDF document from your notes, your notes won't get cut off if written on two pages!! For me its way better than Apple native notes app!!
I feel like I've seen this list before....
Scratches occur mainly because some people press hard on screen
Especially if you work/live near the beach or sandy desert. I know.
Hola muy buena tu enseñanza pero debes hablar en español porque escribisteis en español
Nebo?…nebo is the best man.. not here in your list?
I don't know how anyone can say apple notes is the best. They don't even have the functionality to combine typed and handwritten notes.
Y’all are sleeping on Nebo. Best thing about is how many languages are supported for it. I have still not found any note apps that have a Hellenic/Greek option and do it better than Nebo.
The recognition is the best and the writing experience fantastic. But in terms of organization is really restrictive, if you only do simple notes then is perfect. Is cross platform too, is my 2nd favorite after CollaNote
I love Nebo for handwriting recognition. Nothing beats it. But I always have to transfer whatever I write in to another application to actually use it. But still… I use it!
Nebo
Wait…This is not Fernando’s channel
Whoever’s reading this, I pray that whatever your going through gets better and whatever your struggling with or worrying about is going to be fine i'm here with you all ❤❤💖💖
OneNote is OK for to do list since Wunderlist is gone… But it doesn’t compare to GoodNotes!
🐬🐬🐬
wtf is Fernando doing on 9to5Mac ? this guy makes me want to use a flip phone.......
shame apple note wont allow you to use pencil over text ;(
I can’t use corporate logon for iPad. So… no to one note.
Oy. Apple notes is the least functional notetaking program to use your Apple Pencil with. Ridiculous that you’ve listed it as number one.
Notability sucks. They have screwed their loyal customers and everybody is leaving Notability's money grab scheme. Goodnotes is the way to go. NO subscription fees.
Who’s voting for Notion?
I was wondering when someone was going to mention it lol, currently my go to, combined with GoodNotes for the hand written stuff
@@GeorgeVina it's the best when it comes to prepare for exam:)
Apple nots haha 11:44
Not a very good review. Most of the “scribbles” you did during the video were very basic and you did not show much detail. And what is this thing where you repeat yourself over and over in the script? Bring back Jeff Benjamin. PLEASE.
Jeff is on his own channel now.
Are you for real?
Poor review. Waist of time. The recording function of Notability wasn’t even mentioned. Clear promoting agenda.
Apple Notes is absolutely garbage. I took notes on it with my Apple Pencil and it deleted HALF of my notes when I hit done and closed out of the software.
SAMSUNG NOTES 😐
Promoting paperlike instant downvote for me. Terrible product and company who pay for product placement on these type lists videos for art and notepad apps. Also the air quotes on the “apple notes” app is really super pedantic and unnecessary trying to seem edgy or something. You wouldn’t be looking notes apps if you didn't have an ipad.
Paperlike is a really scratch magnet …A really bad screen protector but why every youtuber suggestes this i dont know.. Maybe they invest more money on promoting the product then quality of the product 😌
