As an Ace Attorney fan here, I really appericate you playing though the trilogy again on the 3DS. I also own them on my 3DS and recently went back to play them again. Instead of playing them on Steam or my phone. I am very happy to still own my original 3DS Blue with a custom black bottom (due to some repairs I had to do once). Being with my 3DS again reminds me of simpler times when I used to trade or battle or even race with my friends during the holidays during the school breaks. Those day's were amazing and Ill continue to remember those moments.

Personally never got the 3ds but it gave me memories of my DSi so that was comforting yet a bit bittersweet in a way, especially with me getting back into gaming thanks to the Switch
I've been having somewhat of a similar experience recently too. This year in my dorm, one of my friends on my floor showed me his shiny Pokémon collection and told me that he was trying to get as many as he possibly could, so I went home and got my 3DS and DS's, and my very limited Pokémon game collection, to help with the cause. Going back through my old consoles to bring over gave me a lot of joy, as there's so many memories with it, and being able to put it to use again gave me a weird branch of satisfaction that I'm not sure how to describe. My favorite day was one that we set aside solely for shiny hunting, and we gathered every useable 3DS and DS and put all our Pokémon games in them - we were playing a combined 6 games at once. It was like TikTok dopamine drip-feed for gamblers, but the reason why I loved it so much was because I was with a friend who was joining me in reusing these old consoles. And the cherry on top was that my friend had downloaded Pokémon Bank before the 3DS store shut down, so I was able to finally transfer my most meaningful Pokémon up to use if I ever get a new Pokémon game. Also, seeing you play Mario Party via Download Play reminds me of back in middle school, where I got 6 other people on my bus to play Mario Kart DS as a group every day. It's what I remember best about that whole year, it was so fun and is something that can't really be replicated anymore. I'm really glad to have experienced these consoles though. One question about the video though, you said Samus Returns' combat felt static because of the countering but you seem to like Metroid Dread a lot despite it keeping the system. I only played Super Metroid and Metroid Dread - I haven't played Returns - so did they change the system? Or is Dread just better because it's on Switch controllers and not 3DS? I've been thinking about playing Returns but if the combat feels bad I may skip out.
Dread just polished what wasn't perfect in Samus Returns. Also, Samus Returns only lets you counter at a stand-still, while Dread lets you do it while moving. It's still a good game though and worth checking out. I would also check out Zero Mission if you have the chance.
Grass is a type of plant with narrow leaves growing from the base. Their appearance as a common plant was in the mid-Cretaceous period. There are 12,000 species now.[3] A common kind of grass is used to cover the ground in places such as lawns and parks. Grass is usually the color green. That is because they are wind-pollinated rather than insect-pollinated, so they do not have to attract insects. Green is the best colour for photosynthesis. To add to what Jordan said, dread in general just has far more movement options than returns, introducing the slide and dash abilities. Meanwhile Samus returns sticks to mostly the item pool from super metroid. What probably doesn’t help either is the game being capped at 30fps which while it doesn’t effect anything really, it does just make the game feel that little bit slower. Still a 10/10 though.
Best way to shiny hunt was and still is ultra sun and moon. You can hunt for a specific nature and Pokemon whereas in sword& shield you have to buy the dlc and hope you find the one you're trying to hunt. I spent about 2 years getting most of the shinnies and once I transferred them to the new games it kinda sucked that the quality of Pokemon games has declined so much. My shinnies are useless cause I'm not a competitive player but the models look good. There's just nothing to use them on
@@AlexsaurusRex I only had regular Sun, but even at that, SOS shiny hunting was my favorite kind of shiny hunting I've done - it's reliable and fast, and gives me a use for a bunch of Pokémon I regularly wouldn't use. Just played through OR for the first time. For me the DSi is my favorite Nintendo product of all time. Now playing Diamond for the first time( I know platinum is better but waiting to play that with my Girlfriend)
I’ve been playing pokemon moon, ultra moon, X and of course replaying pokemon Y ever since I modded it again, I haven’t touched my switch in a long time afterwards
I did this for a year and would echo your recommendation to try something like this. It was a lot of fun and a play experience you sort of lose as an adult when you have access to multiple systems. I stongly considered playing only DS or 3DS for my challenge/experiment but ultimately settled on Wii in part because of multiplayer, and in part because my hands can only handle playing handhelds for so long. Both things you touched upon here.
I was all about 3DS gaming a couple of years ago. I was barreling through final fantasy tactics A2 and trying to get into Devil Survivor: Overclocked and Soul Hackers. Then, some personal stuff got in the way of my enjoyment of playing video games. All was good after a while and I started gaming again but didn't go back to the 3DS until last year when my girlfriend and I played through Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire together. I recently bought SMT IV and am really enjoying the game and just playing the 3DS again. Such a great system that I definitely plan on playing more of in the near future.
Love it, great video and idea. I lived abroad in Sweden for 6 months and my 3DS became my main console, mainly playing it on trains, ferries, and planes. But even for bedtime gameplay, it’s a great console.
The 3DS has a very decent catalogue of games. Some other games you might want to try would be: -Monster Hunter -Fantasy Life -Fire Emblem -Profesor Layton -Yokai Watch -Story of Seasons -Bravely Default -Dragon Quest -Fire Emblem -Tomodachi Life And many more I might missed.
love how you snuck in Fire Emblem twice. I just picked up a New 3DS XL and modded it, and I'm playing through Fire Emblem Fates as my first FE game, so far I'm enjoying it
@@FlyffUniverse I heard most people hate Fates bc of the weird story but so far I'm liking it. I put sm research into Awakening vs Fates but idk why I chose the latter even tho Awakening should be the more obvious choice. I already started tho so I don't want to stop and start a new game 😅. I'll def get to it as soon as I finish Fates tho!
I still semi regularly use my 3ds to play RPGs, it has an extremely strong lineup of them, with multiple SMT titles, 2 generations of Pokémon, Tales of the Abyss, the Fire Emblem renaissance, Bravely Default and so on.
Very underrated channel. You're going places sir! I feel the Scott the woz influence in the best kind of way. If you're interested in collaborating with other small creators, I'd love brainstorm some ideas with you!
Great video. Really appreciate the shooting, editing and overall polish, so I'm excited to check out some of your other videos. As for 3DS, I have the fondest memories with Animal Crossing New Leaf, A Link Between Worlds, and Monster Hunter 4U 😄
From high school to well into my mid 20’s (rn lol) I always used my 3ds to pass the time. I’ll always cherish the days I had to take the train to work and during that commute I played and finished ocarina of time, Majora’s mask, and links awakening. It’s too precious to me and has gotten me though so many days and nights of waiting… even though I’ve moved onto the switch, the 3ds will always have a place in my heart.
Aw i love this. The 3DS is a cherished console to me so this seems like a fun challenge to do, even though the online servers are done theres a TON of great games for it
I never had a 3DS, it was a very rare console to see in my country and my family never had the money anyways. But today I'm an adult, so I fulfilled my kid/teen dreams and bought myself a used 3DS and MAAAAN, zero regrets, what a wonderful console. I'm currently playing through Ocarina of Time for the first time ever as part of my journey through the entire Zelda series (played BOTW last year and that was my first Zelda, so I went back and started playing the originals in order, to 100% completion). I can say that I'm loving the 3DS and I'm happy to see so many people still using it in 2024. That way I don't feel so alone. Also, you just got yourself a new sub!
This video was incredible! Your editing is shocking amazing! The fact that you don’t have 50k at least yet is a crime. You’ve earned a well deserved sub.
i still regularly play on my 3ds. early this year my friend modded it for me, i got a new sd card and ive been having an absolute blast with it. the 3DS is an AMAZING console
the biggest perk of the 3DS is that now its modable but the worst perk is that all online multiplayer features now will never work, and i am sad because just now i am thinking about buying a used new Japanese 3DS for cheap and play amazing titles like pokemon Y and sun, also Mario kart 7 and 3d land. but like always i am YEARS late to the party. FYI what i mean being late to the party is that i got my ps3 (first console) at 2017 and got my ps4 (second console) back at 2019 (the ps5 was already being teased) and now 6 months ago i just got a nintendo switch oled (still didn't had the change to buy a game, but i hope that will change as fast as possible) and now i just discovered that you can emulate old nintendo consoles and i have grew a big fond for the NDS but i cant play the 3DS wich is why i am thinking of buying a 3DS and modding it!
When you continue through the Ace Attorney series I hope you enjoy! I've still got my physical copies of the trilogy and Apollo and there's simply something about those games on the DS that just hits different. You're going to love Trials and Tribulations, that game completely blows it out of the water. Fantastic entry that still goes so hard. The final case of JFA also really left an impact on me when I first played through it, you really didn't know what to expect and the way it turns things on its head so consistently was SO well done. Apollo Justice is another fantastic entry as well that I love to death and while Dual Destinies and Spirit of Justice had moments where they stumbled I still highly recommend going through them--personally I really loved the final case in SOJ and the music in that game is beautiful. Still gotta play through the Great Ace Attorney Chronicles but I know those are insanely good as well so if you've got a switch, cannot rec those enough as well! And if you've still got the itch for AA after all of it, Miles has two of his own Investigation games which are both really fun---especially the second one, it's got a banger overarching plot and villain. AAI2 only has a fan translation atm but the first one was localized! Anyways that turned into a whole AA tangent MY BAD 😭👍 The 3DS is such a good little console!! I love picking it up every now and then and there's still games out there on my list of ones to play sometimes down the line and it's own backlog is huge. Not gonna be a console that disappears into obscurity unlike some other handhelds of the time, it's simply too iconic and too good (even if the hand cramps are BRUTAL at times). Might try limiting myself to a challenge like this one of these days!!
I'm going to be traveling soon and away from my PC for a few months, my recommended videos are telling me what I need to do. Only difference is, mine is modded, but now I know where to start, platform games. Thanks
I love my 3DS. I have a red new XL as my daily and have spent the last few years collecting the handhelds when I can. There are so many games I haven’t had a chance to play.
I have been playing mine each night after work in bed for the last 5 years. Saying that mine has been homebrewed and i am able to play any game from game boy all the way up to 3DS even mess around with other emulators like playstation, neo-geo and so on. it never gets old and multiplayer is fantastic.
You played great games, Phoenix Wright and Metroid are amazing. Check out SMT 4 and SMT 4 Apocalypse, they're amazing games, it's genuinely amazing what the developers did with 3DS's limited tech. There's also SMT Soul Hackers 1 that was localized for the 3DS, it's a very old SMT spinoff game that was originally on Sega Saturn but if you want a 90's hacker game with dungeon crawling it's really fun, and it's amazing how they predicted how technology would evolve. With Phoenix Wright, technically the Great Ace Attorney games were made for the 3DS, but they only localized them in English for the Switch so they don't count. Edit: If you haven't you need to play the second trilogy of Phoenix Wright games such as Ace Apollo, Dual Destinies, and Spirit of Justice! They're just really fun games. Edit2: Also check out the Professor Layton games, they're gimmicky but fun. Also check out the Phoenix Wright & Professor Layton crossover, it's more skewed towards being a Phoenix Wright game but it's really fun.
I’m glad you chose not to mod, and to stick to your existing collection. I chose the same, and will never mod mine. I’ve found that limiting my choices actually makes me focus more on each individual game.
I’ve been playing Persona Q2 recently, late release for the 3ds life cycle so I never ended up jumping on it when it released but I’m happy I came back to it!
The algorithm must've known I decided to pick up my 3DS today also!!!! Played a good solid few hours of dragon quest VIII LITERALLY FELL ASLEEP, A COUPLE TIMES WHILE PLAYING IT!! But man, the 3DS is such a cool little system! I also fell in love with the Ace Attorney games! But I also love it for being able to play some good classic super Nintendo and Game Boy advance in addition to some of the numerous DS games, it's an awesome system specially modded!!
Bought into the 3ds family for the first time during the pandemic. Got the n2dsxl at Walmart. Laughed when I first held it, bought a grip asap. Idk how you play without one
well one thing that can help with cramps/make the 3ds much better to hold is getting a rubberized case that has a similar gimmick to what the gba had that made the gba feel more like a pro controller with a screen
23:06 This footage is from the Nintendo E3 2011 Trailer of Paper Mario: Sticker Star. Only ~1/2 a year from the game's release. At the time it was still simply called "Paper Mario." Despite being relatively late in development, the game was still being drastically remodelled -- only two clips in the part of the trailer you used are actually from levels that appear in the final game! It really shows how rocky the game's development was. Weirder still, the further back you go in the game's development, the less bad it looks in terms of gameplay and visual design? The amount of simplifications that were made to the game were something else; we truly got Sticker Star at its worst state of quality.
I remember right before the eshop closed I bought every mainline pokemon game available including the virtual console ones and then played the gen 3 remakes with my girlfriend since those remakes were very nostalgic for us when they came out. We're trying to fill out the whole Dex and while I was fishing for a wailmer for my party I got a full odds shiny tentacool. I love the 3DS and I'll forever cherish all of the fond memories I've made with friends and loved ones on it since it brought us all that much closer together.
I genuinely appreciate that you did not mod your system. I did for the reason that i never owned many DS games. There were dozens I wish I had gotten to play, and now im able to relive that dream! Within 1 month I have taken my 3DS out of the house more than I have my switch in 3 years. I LOVE my switch and have many games, but it just feels like a giant block vs a perfectly sized 3DS. Plus the fact of being able to close it like a book and just put it in my pocket, not having to worry about the usual "joycon drift" when stored away in a bag or just my pockets. The Switch is an incredible console I will never deny that, but I think Nintendo peaked their portable gaming with the DS lineup of consoles!
This video is too high quality for you to have less then 100k subs, I really enjoyed the entire video! Im also getting a new 3dsxl tomorrow... :D mine will be modded though lol
The Paper mario sticker star music hit me HARD. I know that a lot of people hated the game, but I loved that game, so when I heard the music I was so surprised.
It's terrible.💀💀💀 There are terribly few subscribers for that level of video quality.Seriously.This is much better than the level of some blogger with three million subscribers, and you have only FIVE THOUSAND.This is a really cool video, I want to watch it not two or three times, but much more, much more...

Ain't no way 3DS ain't modern anymore
I mean it’s 13 years old which is insane cause 2011 does not feel like 13 years ago
its kind of in between, its considered late 2000s or just new era.
Nintendo shut down its online servers and they stopped releasing games on it. Pretty clear to presume it’s not modern anymore

I stongly considered playing only DS or 3DS for my challenge/experiment but ultimately settled on Wii in part because of multiplayer, and in part because my hands can only handle playing handhelds for so long. Both things you touched upon here.
this video appeared on my youtube home and that was a bless. Awesome vid bro, keep it up
I was all about 3DS gaming a couple of years ago.
SMT 4 is goated
Just finished SMT IV last week, really great game. Now planning continue into Apocalypse but im gonna finish Fire emblem echoes first
The paper mario sticker star disrespectful hurt my soul. That game was great i loved it
Love it, great video and idea. I lived abroad in Sweden for 6 months and my 3DS became my main console, mainly playing it on trains, ferries, and planes. But even for bedtime gameplay, it’s a great console.
The 3DS has a very decent catalogue of games. Some other games you might want to try would be:
-Monster Hunter
-Fantasy Life
-Fire Emblem
-Profesor Layton
-Yokai Watch
-Story of Seasons
-Bravely Default
-Dragon Quest
-Fire Emblem
-Tomodachi Life
And many more I might missed.
love how you snuck in Fire Emblem twice. I just picked up a New 3DS XL and modded it, and I'm playing through Fire Emblem Fates as my first FE game, so far I'm enjoying it
@@xeshdafates is a decent enough introduction. once you finish, I really recommend you give Awakening a shot. It's nearly perfect.
Yo-Kai Watch Is Definitely A Good Option. Good Gameplay, Goofy Story, And A Cheap Price
Add rune factory 4 to the list! And the Etrian oddessy games and persona q games are great.
the footage on a greenscreen Tshirt is actually so genius I loved it

Really love the greenscreen shirt!! You immediately had me hooked with that ds into the shirt transition. Good stuff!
I still semi regularly use my 3ds to play RPGs, it has an extremely strong lineup of them, with multiple SMT titles, 2 generations of Pokémon, Tales of the Abyss, the Fire Emblem renaissance, Bravely Default and so on.
Great video! I didn’t get a 3DS until 2022, and I’m really glad I did! There’s so much to appreciate about it!
MAN I was manifesting you got at least a lil bit of more attention. You're so good at videos and you put so much heart into them, well deserved 🙏🙏
I watched it again and I'm SO PISSED you skipped the third ace attorney game it's SOOOOO GOOOOD
Very underrated channel. You're going places sir! I feel the Scott the woz influence in the best kind of way.

Great video. Really appreciate the shooting, editing and overall polish, so I'm excited to check out some of your other videos. As for 3DS, I have the fondest memories with Animal Crossing New Leaf, A Link Between Worlds, and Monster Hunter 4U 😄
Solid video! Man id go nuts if i had to play ace atorney lol nicely done
I can’t believe you don’t have more subs, I can you tell you put a lot of effort into making this video and I appreciate it!
Since you enjoyed the last case of Justice For All, you've got to play Trials and Tribulations. Its final case is insanely amazing
Had been thinking of trying something like this! So sick to see you had a good time with it! Great vid!
The keying/masking in the shirt green screen shots is the crispest most impressive thing I’ve ever seen. Also great video!
Great video! If only Tim had stuck it out, he would've loved it
Aw i love this. The 3DS is a cherished console to me so this seems like a fun challenge to do, even though the online servers are done theres a TON of great games for it
I feel like it’s still Morden gaming!

Could have sworn you'd have at least 400k subs.
Nice quality content!
I got a 3dsxl for my birthday in January, ive already sunk over 100 hour onto it.
I love my 3dsxl ❤

This video was incredible! Your editing is shocking amazing! The fact that you don’t have 50k at least yet is a crime. You’ve earned a well deserved sub.
really cool video ! huge quality, keep it up truly great content
i still regularly play on my 3ds. early this year my friend modded it for me, i got a new sd card and ive been having an absolute blast with it. the 3DS is an AMAZING console
the biggest perk of the 3DS is that now its modable but the worst perk is that all online multiplayer features now will never work, and i am sad because just now i am thinking about buying a used new Japanese 3DS for cheap and play amazing titles like pokemon Y and sun, also Mario kart 7 and 3d land. but like always i am YEARS late to the party.
Anyways that turned into a whole AA tangent MY BAD 😭👍
The 3DS is such a good little console!!
I see you like ace attorney a lot. I LOVE IT TOO! I play the triology and investigations duology on ds tho
Dope video man, love the 3ds still have mine in my nightstand I play frequently! Also throw them socks away lol burn em 🔥
Great video, solid production and narrating too!
I'm going to be traveling soon and away from my PC for a few months, my recommended videos are telling me what I need to do. Only difference is, mine is modded, but now I know where to start, platform games. Thanks
I remember out session of Mario Party DS very fondly back in 2007, was pretty amazing drinking and playing on the couch each one with their own DS

I have been playing mine each night after work in bed for the last 5 years. Saying that mine has been homebrewed and i am able to play any game from game boy all the way up to 3DS even mess around with other emulators like playstation, neo-geo and so on. it never gets old and multiplayer is fantastic.
Major scott the woz vibes, and im all here for it. Keep it up
Donkey Kong County Returns and Tropical Freeze is peak 2D platforming, and you will not be able to change my mind
Very similar style to Scott the Woz, great content, I knew it felt familiar. Had been watching the whole time
I’m glad you chose not to mod, and to stick to your existing collection. I chose the same, and will never mod mine. I’ve found that limiting my choices actually makes me focus more on each individual game.
What a fun video. Subscribed!
I’ve been playing Persona Q2 recently, late release for the 3ds life cycle so I never ended up jumping on it when it released but I’m happy I came back to it!

But man, the 3DS is such a cool little system! I also fell in love with the Ace Attorney games! But I also love it for being able to play some good classic super Nintendo and Game Boy advance in addition to some of the numerous DS games, it's an awesome system specially modded!!
the pheonix wright games are nothing short of incredible i am always blown away by the games soundtrack and character writing.
At the time it was still simply called "Paper Mario."
Despite being relatively late in development, the game was still being drastically remodelled -- only two clips in the part of the trailer you used are actually from levels that appear in the final game!
Damn amazing editing for such a low sub count! And I only say low because your vids come off as if you have a million subs. Great job keep it up!
I did this exact same challenge but for a year in 2022. 3DS only, no home consoles, no other handhelds. Absolutely loved it.
this is incredible quality content i dont understand why your channel dont get more attention
My 3ds is also a Phoenix Wright machine! Even got a bigger SD card when the eShop closure was announced because of those games!
The Paper mario sticker star music hit me HARD. I know that a lot of people hated the game, but I loved that game, so when I heard the music I was so surprised.
